1 Mwen menm Jak, sèvitè Bondye ak Jezikri Seyè nou an, m’ap ekri lèt sa a pou douz branch fanmi yo ki gaye toupatou sou latè. Bonjou pou nou tout.
2 Frè m’ yo, se pou nou santi nou kontan anpil lè nou wè nou tonbe anba nenpòt kalite eprèv.
3 Paske, nou konnen byen, lè konfyans nou gen nan Bondye a tonbe anba eprèv, sa ban nou pasyans.
4 Men, fòk pasyans sa a fin fè travay li nèt pou nou kapab bon nèt sou tout pwen, byen devlope, san nou pa manke anyen.
5 Si yon moun pami nou manke bon konprann, se pou l’ mande Bondye, Bondye va ba li li. Paske, Bondye bay tout moun san mezire, pou gremesi.
6 Men, se pou li mande ak konfyans, san l’ pa gen doutans. Paske, moun ki gen doutans, li tankou lanm lanmè van ap boulvèse.
7 Yon moun konsa pa bezwen mete nan tèt li l’ap resevwa anyen nan men Seyè a.
8 Se yon moun ki pa konnen sa li vle, ki toujou ap chanje lide nan tou sa l’ap fè.
9 Yon frè ki pòv dwe moutre jan li kontan lè Bondye fè kichòy pou li.
10 Konsa tou, yon frè ki rich dwe moutre jan l’ kontan tou lè Bondye rabese li. Paske, moun ki rich gen pou pase tankou flè zèb.
11 Solèy la leve ak tout chalè li. Li cheche zèb la. Flè a tonbe. Tout bèlte l’ disparèt. Konsa tou, moun rich la gen pou l’ disparèt pandan tout kòmès li ap mache.
12 benediksyon pou moun ki sipòte eprèv li ak pasyans. Lè la fin pase anba eprèv yo, la resevwa pou rekonpans lavi Bondye te pwomèt tout moun ki renmen li yo.
13 Lè eprèv tonbe sou yon moun, lè l’ anba tantasyon, moun sa a pa dwe di se Bondye k’ap tante li. Paske, menm jan Bondye pa janm anba tantasyon pou fè sa ki mal, konsa tou Bondye pa ka tante pesonn pou fè l’ fè sa ki mal.
14 Men, lè yon moun anba tantasyon, se pwòp move dezi moun lan k’ap rale l’, k’ap pouse li.
15 Konsa, move dezi a travay nan kè li, li fè l’ fè peche. Lè peche a fin fèt, li bay lanmò.
16 Frè mwen renmen anpil yo, pa twonpe tèt nou sou bagay sa a.
17 Tout pi bèl favè, tout pi bon kado nou resevwa, se anwo nan syèl la yo soti, nan men Bondye ki kreye tout limyè. Bondye pa janm chanje, ni li pa gen anyen ki ta ka sanble yon chanjman nan li.
18 Gremesi pawòl verite a, li ban nou lavi jan l’ te vle l’ la, pou nou kapab gen premye plas nan tou sa li kreye.
19 Frè mwen renmen anpil yo, men yon bagay pou nou toujou chonje. Se pou tout moun prese louvri zòrèy yo pou yo ka tande. Men, pa kouri pale, pa prese fè kòlè.
20 Paske, kòlè lèzòm pa ka fè volonte Bondye.
21 Se poutèt sa, derasinen tout vye abitid ki pa dakò ak volonte Bondye ansanm ak tout kras mechanste ki nan lavi nou, voye yo jete. Soumèt nou devan Bondye, asepte pawòl li te plante nan kè nou an, paske se pawòl sa a ki ka sove nanm nou.
22 Se pou nou fè tou sa pawòl la mande nou fè. Pa rete ap koute ase. Lè sa a, se pwòp tèt nou n’ap twonpe.
23 Paske, lè yon moun tande pawòl la ase, san li pa fè sa pawòl la mande l’ fè, li tankou yon moun ki gade figi l’ nan yon glas.
24 Men, kou l’ vire do l’ ale, lamenm li bliye kisa li sanble.
25 Men, moun ki fikse je l’ sou lalwa ki bon nèt la, lalwa ki bay libète a, si l’ soti pou l’ fè sa lalwa a mande, si li pa yon moun ki kite pawòl la antre nan yon zòrèy soti nan yon lòt, men ki fè sa lalwa a mande, moun sa a va jwenn benediksyon nan sa l’ap fè a.
26 Si yon moun kwè l’ap sèvi Bondye, pou anmenmtan li pa bride lang li, se tèt li l’ap twonpe. Sèvi Bondye jan sa a pa vo anyen.
27 Men jan pou nou sèvi Bondye Papa a, si nou vle sèvi l’ yon jan ki dakò ak volonte Bondye, yon jan ki bon tout bon devan li: SE pòte sekou bay timoun ki san papa. Se bay vèv yo lasistans lè yo nan lafliksyon. Se pa mele nan move bagay k’ap fèt sou latè pou nou pa pèdi kondisyon nou.

Jacques 1
1 Jacques, serviteur de Dieu et du Seigneur Jésus Christ, aux douze tribus qui sont dans la dispersion, salut!
2 Mes frères, regardez comme un sujet de joie complète les diverses épreuves auxquelles vous pouvez être exposés,
3 sachant que l’épreuve de votre foi produit la patience.
4 Mais il faut que la patience accomplisse parfaitement son oeuvre, afin que vous soyez parfaits et accomplis, sans faillir en rien.
5 Si quelqu’un d’entre vous manque de sagesse, qu’il l’a demande à Dieu, qui donne à tous simplement et sans reproche, et elle lui sera donnée.
6 Mais qu’il l’a demande avec foi, sans douter; car celui qui doute est semblable au flot de la mer, agité par le vent et poussé de côté et d’autre.
7 Qu’un tel homme ne s’imagine pas qu’il recevra quelque chose du Seigneur:
8 c’est un homme irrésolu, inconstant dans toutes ses voies.
9 Que le frère de condition humble se glorifie de son élévation.
10 Que le riche, au contraire, se glorifie de son humiliation; car il passera comme la fleur de l’herbe.
11 Le soleil s’est levé avec sa chaleur ardente, il a desséché l’herbe, sa fleur est tombée, et la beauté de son aspect a disparu: ainsi le riche se flétrira dans ses entreprises.
12 Heureux l’homme qui supporte patiemment la tentation; car, après avoir été éprouvé, il recevra la couronne de vie, que le Seigneur a promise à ceux qui l’aiment.
13 Que personne, lorsqu’il est tenté, ne dise: C’est Dieu qui me tente. Car Dieu ne peut être tenté par le mal, et il ne tente lui-même personne.
14 Mais chacun est tenté quand il est attiré et amorcé par sa propre convoitise.
15 Puis la convoitise, lorsqu’elle a conçu, enfante le péché; et le péché, étant consommé, produit la mort.
16 Nous vous y trompez pas, mes frères bien-aimés:
17 toute grâce excellente et tout don parfait descendent d’en haut, du Père des lumières, chez lequel il n’y a ni changement ni ombre de variation.
18 Il nous a engendrés selon sa volonté, par la parole de vérité, afin que nous soyons en quelque sorte les prémices de ses créatures.
19 Sachez-le, mes frères bien-aimés. Ainsi, que tout homme soit prompt à écouter, lent à parler, lent à se mettre en colère;
20 car la colère de l’homme n’accomplit pas la justice de Dieu.
21 C’est pourquoi, rejetant toute souillure et tout excès de malice, recevez avec douceur la parole qui a été planté en vous, et qui peut sauver vos âmes.
22 Mettez en pratique la parole, et ne vous bornez pas à l’écouter, en vous trompant vous-mêmes par de faux raisonnements.
23 Car, si quelqu’un écoute la parole et ne la met pas en pratique, il est semblable à un homme qui regarde dans un miroir son visage naturel,
24 et qui, après s’être regardé, s’en va, et oublie aussitôt quel il était.
25 Mais celui qui aura plongé les regards dans la loi parfaite, la loi de la liberté, et qui aura persévéré, n’étant pas un auditeur oublieux, mais se mettant à l’oeuvre, celui-là sera heureux dans son activité.
26 Si quelqu’un croit être religieux, sans tenir sa langue en bride, mais en trompant son coeur, la religion de cet homme est vaine.
27 La religion pure et sans tache, devant Dieu notre Père, consiste à visiter les orphelins et les veuves dans leurs afflictions, et à se préserver des souillures du monde.

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
