Travay 22
1 Frèm yo, grandèt mwen yo, koute sa m’ pral di nou koulye a pou defann tèt mwen.
2 Lè yo tande l’ ap pale ebre, yo rete byen dousman. Epi Pòl di yo:
3 Se jwif mwen ye. Mwen fèt lavil Tas nan peyi Silisi. Men, se isit lavil Jerizalèm mwen grandi. Se Gamalyèl ki te pwofesè mwen. Se li menm ki te moutre m’ tout ti detay nan Lalwa zansèt nou yo. Mwen menm tou, yon lè mwen te gen zèl nou gen koulye a pou Bondye.
4 Mwen te pèsekite moun ki t’ap swiv chemen Bondye a jouk pou m’ te touye yo. Fanm kou gason, mwen te arete tout moun mete nan prizon.
5 Granprèt la ak chèf fanmi yo ki reyini la a, yo ka sètifye sa m’ap di la a se vre. Se yo menm menm ki te ban m’ lèt otorizasyon pou frè jwif lavil Damas yo. Mwen tapral arete mezi disip ki te la, mennen yo Jerizalèm pou fè regle yo.
6 Mwen te sou wout la toupre Damas, lè m’ rete konsa yon gwo limyè soti nan syèl la, li klere tout kote m’ te ye a. Lè sa a, li te bò midi konsa.
7 Mwen tonbe atè, epi m’ tande yon vwa ki di m’: Sòl, Sòl, poukisa w’ap pèsekite mwen konsa?
8 Mwen mande: Ki moun ou ye, Seyè? Epi li di mwen: Mwen se Jezi, moun Nazarèt, w’ap pèsekite a.
9 Moun ki te la avè m’ yo te wè limyè a tou, men yo pa t’ tande vwa ki t’ap pale avè m’ lan.
10 Lè sa a, mwen mande: Kisa pou m’ fè, Seyè? Seyè a di mwen: Leve, ale lavil Damas. Se la y’a di ou tou sa Bondye va ba ou lòd fè.
11 Limyè a te tèlman klere, mwen te vin avèg. Se kanmarad mwen yo ki pran men m’ ki mennen m’ Damas.
12 Nan Damas te gen yon nonm yo rele Ananyas. Se te yon moun ki t’ap sèvi Bondye jan Lalwa nou an mande l’ la. Tout jwif Damas yo te konsidere l’ anpil.
13 Li vin jwenn mwen, li kanpe toupre m’, epi li di mwen: Sòl, frè mwen, se pou ou wè nan je ou ankò. Menm lè a, mwen wè ankò, epi mwen gade li.
14 Li di m’ konsa: Bondye zansèt nou yo te chwazi ou davans pou ou te ka konn volonte l’, pou ou te ka wè sèl moun ki dwat devan li a, pou ou te ka tande l’ pale ak bouch li.
15 Ou pral sèvi l’ temwen, ou pral fè tout moun konnen sa ou te wè ak sa ou te tande.
16 Koulye a, kisa w’ap tann ankò? Leve non, rele Bondye, resevwa batèm pou tout peche ou yo ka lave.
17 Apre sa, mwen tounen lavil Jerizalèm. Antan m’ te nan tanp lan ap lapriyè, mwen fè yon vizyon.
18 Mwen wè Seyè a ki di mwen: Fè vit, kite Jerizalèm, paske moun Jerizalèm yo p’ap asepte tou sa w’ap di sou mwen an.
19 Mwen reponn: Seyè, yo konnen byen pwòp mwen te konn al nan sinagòg yo, mwen te konn mete tout moun ki te kwè nan ou nan prizon, fè bat yo byen bat.
20 Menm lè yo t’ap touye Etyèn, moun ki te kanpe pou ou a, mwen te la tou. Mwen te dakò ak moun ki t’ap touye l’ yo. Se mwen menm ki te veye rad yo.
21 Lè sa a, Seyè a di mwen: Ale, m’ap voye ou byen lwen, bò kote moun ki pa jwif yo.
22 Foul moun yo t’ap koute Pòl byen pwòp. Men, lè yo tande pawòl sa a, yo tout pran rele: Wete nonm sa a sou latè! Touye li! Li pa merite viv ankò!
23 Yo t’ap rele pi rèd, yo t’ap souke rad yo, yo t’ap voye pousyè tè anlè.
24 Kòmandan women an bay lòd fè Pòl antre nan kazèn lan. Li mande pou yo bat li pou fè l’ pale. Li te vle konnen poukisa foul moun yo t’ap rele dèyè l’ konsa.
25 Lè yo fin mare l’ pou bat li, Pòl di ofisye ki te la a: Eske nou gen dwa bat yon sitwayen women ki pa menm pase devan yon tribinal?
26 Lè l’ tande sa, ofisye a al avèti kòmandan an, li di li: Fè atansyon sa ou pral fè la a, tande! Nonm lan, se sitwayen women li ye wi.
27 Kòmandan an vin jwenn Pòl, li mande li: Di mwen, èske se sitwayen women ou ye? Pòl reponn li: Wi.
28 Kòmandan an di l’ konsa: Mwen menm, mwen te peye gwo lajan pou m’ te ka sitwayen women. Pòl reponn li: Mwen menm, mwen fèt sitwayen women.
29 Lamenm, moun ki tapral bat li pou te fè l’ pale yo renka kò yo dèyè. Ata kòmandan an te pè lè l’ vin rann li kont li te fè mare Pòl ki te yon sitwayen women avèk chenn.
30 Kòmandan an te vle konnen egzakteman kisa jwif yo t’ap akize Pòl fè. Se konsa, nan denmen li fè lage chenn yo, epi li voye lòd bay chèf prèt yo pou yo reyini ansanm ak Gran Konsèy la. Li mennen Pòl, li mete l’ devan yo.

Actes 22
1 Hommes frères et pères, écoutez ce que j’ai maintenant à vous dire pour ma défense!
2 Lorsqu’ils entendirent qu’il leur parlait en langue hébraïque, ils redoublèrent de silence. Et Paul dit:
3 je suis Juif, né à Tarse en Cilicie; mais j’ai été élevé dans cette ville-ci, et instruit aux pieds de Gamaliel dans la connaissance exacte de la loi de nos pères, étant plein de zèle pour Dieu, comme vous l’êtes tous aujourd’hui.
4 J’ai persécuté à mort cette doctrine, liant et mettant en prison hommes et femmes.
5 Le souverain sacrificateur et tout le collège des anciens m’en sont témoins. J’ai même reçu d’eux des lettres pour les frères de Damas, où je me rendis afin d’amener liés à Jérusalem ceux qui se trouvaient là et de les faire punir.
6 Comme j’étais en chemin, et que j’approchais de Damas, tout à coup, vers midi, une grande lumière venant du ciel resplendit autour de moi.
7 Je tombai par terre, et j’entendis une voix qui me disait: Saul, Saul, pourquoi me persécutes-tu?
8 Je répondis: Qui es-tu, Seigneur? Et il me dit: Je suis Jésus de Nazareth, que tu persécutes.
9 Ceux qui étaient avec moi virent bien la lumière, mais ils n’entendirent pas la voix de celui qui parlait. Alors je dis: Que ferai-je, Seigneur?
10 Et le Seigneur me dit: Lève-toi, va à Damas, et là on te dira tout ce que tu dois faire.
11 Comme je ne voyais rien, à cause de l’éclat de cette lumière, ceux qui étaient avec moi me prirent par la main, et j’arrivai à Damas.
12 Or, un nommé Ananias, homme pieux selon la loi, et de qui tous les Juifs demeurant à Damas rendaient un bon témoignage, vint se présenter à moi,
13 et me dit: Saul, mon frère, recouvre la vue. Au même instant, je recouvrai la vue et je le regardai.
14 Il dit: Le Dieu de nos pères t’a destiné à connaître sa volonté, à voir le Juste, et à entendre les paroles de sa bouche;
15 car tu lui serviras de témoin, auprès de tous les hommes, des choses que tu as vues et entendues.
16 Et maintenant, que tardes-tu? Lève-toi, sois baptisé, et lavé de tes péchés, en invoquant le nom du Seigneur.
17 De retour à Jérusalem, comme je priais dans le temple, je fus ravi en extase,
18 et je vis le Seigneur qui me disait: Hâte-toi, et sors promptement de Jérusalem, parce qu’ils ne recevront pas ton témoignage sur moi.
19 Et je dis: Seigneur, ils savent eux-mêmes que je faisais mettre en prison et battre de verges dans les synagogues ceux qui croyaient en toi, et que,
20 lorsqu’on répandit le sang d’Étienne, ton témoin, j’étais moi-même présent, joignant mon approbation à celle des autres, et gardant les vêtements de ceux qui le faisaient mourir.
21 Alors il me dit: Va, je t’enverrai au loin vers les nations…
22 Ils l’écoutèrent jusqu’à cette parole. Mais alors ils élevèrent la voix, disant: Ote de la terre un pareil homme! Il n’est pas digne de vivre.
23 Et ils poussaient des cris, jetaient leurs vêtements, lançaient de la poussière en l’air.
24 Le tribun commanda de faire entrer Paul dans la forteresse, et de lui donner la question par le fouet, afin de savoir pour quel motif ils criaient ainsi contre lui.
25 Lorsqu’on l’eut exposé au fouet, Paul dit au centenier qui était présent: Vous est-il permis de battre de verges un citoyen romain, qui n’est pas même condamné?
26 A ces mots, le centenier alla vers le tribun pour l’avertir, disant: Que vas-tu faire? Cet homme est Romain.
27 Et le tribun, étant venu, dit à Paul: Dis-moi, es-tu Romain? Oui, répondit-il.
28 Le tribun reprit: C’est avec beaucoup d’argent que j’ai acquis ce droit de citoyen. Et moi, dit Paul, je l’ai par ma naissance.
29 Aussitôt ceux qui devaient lui donner la question se retirèrent, et le tribun, voyant que Paul était Romain, fut dans la crainte parce qu’il l’avait fait lier.
30 Le lendemain, voulant savoir avec certitude de quoi les Juifs l’accusaient, le tribun lui fit ôter ses liens, et donna l’ordre aux principaux sacrificateurs et à tout le sanhédrin de se réunir; puis, faisant descendre Paul, il le plaça au milieu d’eux.

Acts 22
1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
2 (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)
3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
