1 Bondye di Jakòb: -Leve non, moute al Betèl, epi rete la. Bati yon lotèl la pou Bondye ki te parèt devan ou lan, lè ou t’ap kouri pou Ezaou, frè ou la.
2 Se konsa Jakòb rele fanmi l’ yo ansanm ak tout lòt moun ki avè l’ yo. li di yo: -Pran tout lòt bondye etranje n’ap sèvi yo, voye yo jete. Mete nou nan kondisyon pou sèvi Bondye. Mete rad nèt sou nou.
3 Nou pral kite kote nou ye a, nou pral Betèl, kote mwen pral bati yon lotèl pou Bondye ki te reponn lapriyè m’ lè m’ te anba tray la, pou Bondye ki te la avèk mwen kote m’ pase nan vwayaj mwen te fè a.
4 Se konsa yo renmèt Jakòb tout bondye etranje yo te gen nan men yo ansanm ak tout zanno yo te gen nan zòrèy yo. Jakòb antere tout sa anba pye bwadchenn ki te toupre lavil Sichèm lan.
5 Apre sa, yo pati. tout moun ki te rete nan zòn lan te vin pè Bondye anpil. Yo yonn pa leve al rapouswiv pitit Jakòb yo.
6  Jakòb rive ansanm ak tout moun ki te avè l’ yo lavil Louz, nan peyi Kanaran. Se lavil sa a yo rele Betèl tou.
7 Li bati yon lotèl la, li rele kote a Betèl, paske se la Bondye te parèt devan li lè li t’ap kouri pou frè l’ la.
8 Lè sa a, Debora, bòn Rebeka a, mouri. Yo antere l’ pi ba Betèl, anba pye bwadchenn lan. Se konsa yo rele pye bwadchenn lan: chenn dlo nan je a.
9 Lè Jakòb te tounen soti Mezopotami, Bondye parèt ankò devan li, li beni li.
10 Bondye di l’ konsa: -Yo rele ou Jakòb pa sa? Men, yo p’ap rele ou Jakòb ankò, y’a rele ou Izrayèl. Depi lè sa a, se Izrayèl yo rele l’ vre.
11 Bondye di l’ ankò: -Se mwen menm Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a. W’ap gen anpil pitit ak pitit pitit. Gen ladan yo k’ap wa. W’ap si tèlman gen anpil pitit pitit, y’a tounen yon kantite nasyon.
12 Peyi mwen te bay Abraram ak Izarak la, m’ap ba ou li tou. Apre sa, m’ap bay pitit pitit ou yo li.
13 Apre sa, Bondye kite l’ kote li t’ap pale ak li a, li moute nan syèl.
14 Jakòb pran yon gwo wòch, li plante l’ pou l’ make kote Bondye te pale avèk li a. Li pran diven, li wouze wòch la, apre sa li vide lwil sou li.
15 Li rele kote Bondye te pale avè l’ la Betèl.
16  Apre sa, yo pati yo kite Betèl. Yo pa t’ twò lwen rive lavil Efrata lè lè a te rive pou Rachèl akouche. Li t’ap soufri anpil.
17 Lè doulè a te pi rèd, fanmchay la di l’: -Ou pa bezwen pè. Ou fè yon pitit gason ankò.
18 Rachèl tapral mouri, li t’ap rann dènye souf li lè li rele pitit la Bennoni. Men papa a rele l’ Benjamen.
19 Rachèl mouri, yo antere l’ sou wout lavil Efrata. Se lavil sa a yo rele Betleyèm lan tou.
20 Jakòb make tonm lan ak yon gwo wòch: yo rele l’ Moniman tonm Rachèl la. Wòch la la jouk jòdi a.
21  Apre sa, Izrayèl pati, li al moute tant li lòt bò Migdaledè.
22 Antan Jakòb t’ap viv nan peyi sa a, Woubenn al kouche ak Bila, yonn nan fanm papa l’ yo. Izrayèl vin konn sa, li te fache anpil. Jakòb te gen douz pitit gason.
23 Men non pitit Leya te fè pou li yo: Woubenn, premye pitit gason l’ lan, Simeyon, Levi, Jida, Isaka ak Zabilon.
24 Men non pitit Rachèl te fè pou li yo: Jozèf ak Benjamen.
25 Men non pitit Bila, sèvant Rachèl la, te fè pou li yo: Dann ak Nèftali.
26 Men non pitit Zilpa, sèvant Leya a, te fè pou li yo: Gad ak Asè. Se tout pitit gason sa yo Jakòb te genyen antan li te nan peyi Mezopotami.
27 Jakòb al wè papa l’ Izarak, nan Manmre (yo rele kote sa a Kija aba tou, ou ankò Ebwon). Se la Abraram ak Izarak te pase tout lavi yo.
28 Izarak te gen sankatreven lanne sou tèt li
29 lè li mouri. Li te fin granmoun, li te wè kont jou li lè l’ al jwenn moun li yo ki te mouri deja. Ezaou ak Jakòb, pitit gason l’ yo, antere li.

Genèse 35

1 Dieu dit à Jacob: Lève-toi, monte à Béthel, et demeures-y; là, tu dresseras un autel au Dieu qui t’apparut, lorsque tu fuyais Ésaü, ton frère.
2 Jacob dit à sa maison et à tous ceux qui étaient avec lui: Otez les dieux étrangers qui sont au milieu de vous, purifiez-vous, et changez de vêtements.
3 Nous nous lèverons, et nous monterons à Béthel; là, je dresserai un autel au Dieu qui m’a exaucé dans le jour de ma détresse, et qui a été avec moi pendant le voyage que j’ai fait.
4 Ils donnèrent à Jacob tous les dieux étrangers qui étaient entre leurs mains, et les anneaux qui étaient à leurs oreilles. Jacob les enfouit sous le térébinthe qui est près de Sichem.
5 Ensuite ils partirent. La terreur de Dieu se répandit sur les villes qui les entouraient, et l’on ne poursuivit point les fils de Jacob.
6 Jacob arriva, lui et tous ceux qui étaient avec lui, à Luz, qui est Béthel, dans le pays de Canaan.
7 Il bâtit là un autel, et il appela ce lieu El Béthel; car c’est là que Dieu s’était révélé à lui lorsqu’il fuyait son frère.
8 Débora, nourrice de Rebecca, mourut; et elle fut enterrée au-dessous de Béthel, sous le chêne auquel on a donné le nom de chêne des pleurs.
9 Dieu apparut encore à Jacob, après son retour de Paddan Aram, et il le bénit.
10 Dieu lui dit: Ton nom est Jacob; tu ne seras plus appelé Jacob, mais ton nom sera Israël. Et il lui donna le nom d’Israël.
11 Dieu lui dit: Je suis le Dieu tout puissant. Sois fécond, et multiplie: une nation et une multitude de nations naîtront de toi, et des rois sortiront de tes reins.
12 Je te donnerai le pays que j’ai donné à Abraham et à Isaac, et je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité après toi.
13 Dieu s’éleva au-dessus de lui, dans le lieu où il lui avait parlé.
14 Et Jacob dressa un monument dans le lieu où Dieu lui avait parlé, un monument de pierres, sur lequel il fit une libation et versa de l’huile.
15 Jacob donna le nom de Béthel au lieu où Dieu lui avait parlé.
16 Ils partirent de Béthel; et il y avait encore une certaine distance jusqu’à Éphrata, lorsque Rachel accoucha. Elle eut un accouchement pénible;
17 et pendant les douleurs de l’enfantement, la sage-femme lui dit: Ne crains point, car tu as encore un fils!
18 Et comme elle allait rendre l’âme, car elle était mourante, elle lui donna le nom de Ben Oni; mais le père l’appela Benjamin.
19 Rachel mourut, et elle fut enterrée sur le chemin d’Éphrata, qui est Bethléhem.
20 Jacob éleva un monument sur son sépulcre; c’est le monument du sépulcre de Rachel, qui existe encore aujourd’hui.
21 Israël partit; et il dressa sa tente au delà de Migdal Éder.
22 Pendant qu’Israël habitait cette contrée, Ruben alla coucher avec Bilha, concubine de son père. Et Israël l’apprit. Les fils de Jacob étaient au nombre de douze.
23 Fils de Léa: Ruben, premier-né de Jacob, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issacar et Zabulon.
24 Fils de Rachel: Joseph et Benjamin.
25 Fils de Bilha, servante de Rachel: Dan et Nephthali.
26 Fils de Zilpa, servante de Léa: Gad et Aser. Ce sont là les fils de Jacob, qui lui naquirent à Paddan Aram.
27 Jacob arriva auprès d’Isaac, son père, à Mamré, à Kirjath Arba, qui est Hébron, où avaient séjourné Abraham et Isaac.
28 Les jours d’Isaac furent de cent quatre-vingts ans.
29 Il expira et mourut, et il fut recueilli auprès de son peuple, âgé et rassasié de jours, et Ésaü et Jacob, ses fils, l’enterrèrent.

Genesis 35

1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
5 And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6 So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.
7 And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
8 But Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.
9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.
10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13 And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.
16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
20 And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.
21 And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23 The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24 The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.
27 And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28 And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
