Jòb 22
1 Lè sa a, Elifaz, moun lavil Teman an, pran lapawòl. Li di konsa:
2 -Eske yon moun ka itil Bondye? Non! Ata moun ki gen bon konprann yo, se tèt yo ase yo itil.
3 Lè ou fè sa ki byen, ki enterè Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a jwenn nan sa? Sa sa rapòte l’ lè ou mennen bak ou dwat?
4 Eske se paske ou gen krentif pou Bondye kifè l’ap rale zòrèy ou konsa, kifè l’ap trennen ou nan tribinal li?
5 Non. Se paske ou fè anpil peche. Se paske ou te san limit nan fè mechanste.
6 Ou fè frè ou ba ou garanti pou lajan li pa t’ dwe ou. Ou pran ata rad ki sou li, ou kite l’ toutouni.
7 Ou refize bay moun ki te swaf yo ti gout dlo. Ou refize bay moun ki te grangou yo moso pen.
8 Ou pwofite fòs ou ak pozisyon ou pou pran tout peyi a pou ou.
9 Ou refize lonje men ou bay vèv yo. Ou maltrete timoun ki san papa yo.
10 Se poutèt sa, kote ou rive se pèlen yo pare pou ou. Ou rete konsa, kè ou kase.
11 Sitèlman fè nwa, ou pa ka wè. Ou nan dlo jouk nan kou!
12 Eske se pa anwo nèt nan syèl la Bondye rete? Se anba pou li voye je l’ pou l’ ka wè zetwal yo.
13 Ou konn sa, epi w’ap di: Sa Bondye ka konnen? Li kache dèyè nwaj yo, ki jan pou l’ jije sa k’ap pase sou latè?
14 Nwaj yo twò pwès, li pa ka wè. Se sou fetay syèl la l’ap mache.
15 Ou vle mache pye pou pye dèyè mechan yo, nan move chemen yo te toujou pran depi lontan an!
16 Yo mouri anvan lè yo tou. Yo tankou lavalas: anvan ou bat je ou, yo pase.
17 Yo menm tou yo t’ap di Bondye: Wete kò ou sou nou! Kisa Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a ka fè nou?
18 Atò, se Bondye menm ki te plen kay yo ak richès. Mwen pa janm konprann ki jan mechan yo ka fè di sa.
19 Men, lè y’ap pini mechan yo, moun ki mache dwat yo va kontan, inonsan yo va pase yo nan rizib.
20 Gade jan grannèg yo fini non! Dife boule tou sa yo te genyen.
21 Jòb monchè, byen ak Bondye ankò, tande! Sispann chache l’ kont!
22 Koute pawòl li t’ap di ou yo. Kenbe yo nan kè ou.
23 Wi, tounen vin jwenn li, san lògèy nan kè ou. Sispann fè sa ki mal lakay ou.
24 Voye tout lò ou jete nan fatra. Pi bon pyès lò ou yo, jete yo nan galèt larivyè.
25 Se Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a ki va tout lò ou. Se li menm ki va gwo pil lajan byen wo pou ou.
26 Paske, lè sa a, se nan Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a w’a jwenn tout plezi ou. Se sou Bondye w’a toujou gade.
27 Lè w’a lapriyè nan pye l’, l’a reponn ou. W’a kenbe tout pwomès ou fè l’ yo.
28 Tout zafè ou va mache byen. Limyè va klere byen bèl sou tout wout ou.
29 Bondye kraze lògèy moun awogan. Men, li sove moun ki bese tèt devan li.
30 L’ap delivre ou si ou inonsan. L’a sove ou, si ou pa janm sal men ou nan anyen.

Job 22
1 Éliphaz de Théman prit la parole et dit:
2 Un homme peut-il être utile à Dieu? Non; le sage n’est utile qu’à lui-même.
3 Si tu es juste, est-ce à l’avantage du Tout Puissant? Si tu es intègre dans tes voies, qu’y gagne-t-il?
4 Est-ce par crainte de toi qu’il te châtie, Qu’il entre en jugement avec toi?
5 Ta méchanceté n’est-elle pas grande? Tes iniquités ne sont-elles pas infinies?
6 Tu enlevais sans motif des gages à tes frères, Tu privais de leurs vêtements ceux qui étaient nus;
7 Tu ne donnais point d’eau à l’homme altéré, Tu refusais du pain à l’homme affamé.
8 Le pays était au plus fort, Et le puissant s’y établissait.
9 Tu renvoyais les veuves à vide; Les bras des orphelins étaient brisés.
10 C’est pour cela que tu es entouré de pièges, Et que la terreur t’a saisi tout à coup.
11 Ne vois-tu donc pas ces ténèbres, Ces eaux débordées qui t’envahissent?
12 Dieu n’est-il pas en haut dans les cieux? Regarde le sommet des étoiles, comme il est élevé!
13 Et tu dis: Qu’est-ce que Dieu sait? Peut-il juger à travers l’obscurité?
14 Les nuées l’enveloppent, et il ne voit rien; Il ne parcourt que la voûte des cieux.
15 Eh quoi! tu voudrais prendre l’ancienne route Qu’ont suivie les hommes d’iniquité?
16 Ils ont été emportés avant le temps, Ils ont eu la durée d’un torrent qui s’écoule.
17 Ils disaient à Dieu: Retire-toi de nous; Que peut faire pour nous le Tout Puissant?
18 Dieu cependant avait rempli de biens leurs maisons. -Loin de moi le conseil des méchants!
19 Les justes, témoins de leur chute, se réjouiront, Et l’innocent se moquera d’eux:
20 Voilà nos adversaires anéantis! Voilà leurs richesses dévorées par le feu!
21 Attache-toi donc à Dieu, et tu auras la paix; Tu jouiras ainsi du bonheur.
22 Reçois de sa bouche l’instruction, Et mets dans ton coeur ses paroles.
23 Tu seras rétabli, si tu reviens au Tout Puissant, Si tu éloignes l’iniquité de ta tente.
24 Jette l’or dans la poussière, L’or d’Ophir parmi les cailloux des torrents;
25 Et le Tout Puissant sera ton or, Ton argent, ta richesse.
26 Alors tu feras du Tout Puissant tes délices, Tu élèveras vers Dieu ta face;
27 Tu le prieras, et il t’exaucera, Et tu accompliras tes voeux.
28 A tes résolutions répondra le succès; Sur tes sentiers brillera la lumière.
29 Vienne l’humiliation, tu prieras pour ton relèvement: Dieu secourt celui dont le regard est abattu.
30 Il délivrera même le coupable, Qui devra son salut à la pureté de tes mains.

Job 22
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
2 Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
4 Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
6 For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
13 And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
15 Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
16 Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
17 Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
18 Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19 The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
20 Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
