Pwovèb 21
1 Seyè a dirije lespri yon wa, menm jan li dirije yon kouran dlo nan kannal. Li mennen l’ kote li vle.
2 Lèzòm mete nan lide yo tou sa y’ap fè dwat. Men, pa bliye, se Seyè a k’ap jije sa ki nan kè yo.
3 Fè sa ki dwat. Pa nan patipri. Sa fè Seyè a plezi pi plis pase bèt ou ta touye pou li.
4 Fè awogans, gonfle lestonmak yo sou moun, se sa ase mechan yo ap chache fè. Tou sa se peche.
5 Lè ou pran san ou pou ou travay, tou sa w’ap fè ap ba ou benefis. Men, lè ou twò prese, ou p’ap janm gen anyen.
6 Moun k’ap mache bay manti pou fè lajan ap kouri dèyè van. Se lanmò y’ap chache.
7 Move zak mechan yo ap fè a ap fini ak yo, paske yo derefize fè sa ki dwat devan Bondye.
8 Moun k’ap fè sa ki mal ap mache sou chemen plen detou. Men, inonsan yo fè sa ki dwat.
9 Pito ou rete pou kont ou nan yon kwen galata pase pou ou rete nan kay ak yon fanm ki toujou ap chache kont.
10 Mechan toujou anvi fè sa ki mal. Yo pa gen pitye pou pesonn.
11 Lè yo pini yon moun ki renmen pase lòt nan betiz, se yon leson pou moun ki pa gen lespri. Men, moun ki gen bon konprann, lè yo pale avè l’, li vin gen plis konesans.
12 Bondye pa nan patipri, li konnen sa k’ap pase anndan kay mechan yo. Li fè malè tonbe sou yo.
13 Si ou fèmen zòrèy ou pou ou pa tande pòv k’ap mande ou lacharite, konsa tou pesonn p’ap tande ou lè w’a mande sekou.
14 Lè yon moun fache sou ou, si ou ba li yon kado an kachèt, w’a fè l’ vin frèt. Wi, yon kado glise nan pòch li ap kase fe l’.
15 Lè yo rann jistis san patipri, moun ki mache dwat yo gen kè kontan. Men, mechan yo gen kè kase.
16 Lè yon moun pèdi chemen l’ pou l’ aji tankou moun fou, se lanmò k’ap fè li siyon.
17 Lè ou renmen plezi, w’ap toujou pòv. Lè ou renmen bon bweson ak bon manje, ou p’ap janm gen lajan.
18 Lè pou malè ta tonbe sou moun ki mache dwat yo, se sou mechan yo li tonbe.
19 Pito ou viv pou kont ou nan yon dezè pase pou ou viv nan kay ak yon fanm ki tout tan ap chache kont, ki tout tan ap plenyen.
20 Moun ki gen konprann ap gen gwo richès ak kantite bon manje lakay yo. Men, moun sòt gaspiye tout lajan yo.
21 Lè yon moun pa fè lenjistis, lè li gen bon kè, l’ap viv lontan. Tout zafè l’ ap mache byen, y’ap respekte l’.
22 Yon nonm lespri ka pran yon lavil kote ki gen anpil grannèg. L’ap kraze fòs ki t’ap fè yo pa pè anyen an.
23 Veye bouch ou ak lang ou, ou p’ap nan pwoblèm.
24 Moun k’ap pase Bondye nan betiz, se moun ki radi, se moun ki awogan. Yo pa gen konsiderasyon pou pesonn.
25 Parese pa anvi leve ni lou ni lejè. Se sa k’ap touye l’ la tou.
26 Tout lajounen l’ap kalkile sou sa l’ ta renmen genyen. Men, moun ki mache dwat yo gen pou bay, y’ap bay san gad dèyè.
27 Seyè a pa ka sipòte lè mechan yo ap ofri bèt pou touye pou li. Sa pi mal toujou lè yo ofri bèt pou touye ba li avèk lide mechanste dèyè tèt yo.
28 Temwen k’ap bay manti gen pou l’ mouri. Men, yo p’ap koupe pawòl nan bouch moun ki peze sa l’ap di.
29 Mechan toujou pran pòz radi l’. Men, moun ki mache dwat la konnen sa l’ap fè.
30 Devan Seyè a pa gen ni moun konnen, ni moun lespri, ni moun ki gen bon konprann.
31 Moun pare chwal pou y’ al fè lagè, men se Seyè a k’ap deside kilès k’ap genyen batay la.

Proverbes 21
1 Le coeur du roi est un courant d’eau dans la main de l’Éternel; Il l’incline partout où il veut.
2 Toutes les voies de l’homme sont droites à ses yeux; Mais celui qui pèse les coeurs, c’est l’Éternel.
3 La pratique de la justice et de l’équité, Voilà ce que l’Éternel préfère aux sacrifices.
4 Des regards hautains et un coeur qui s’enfle, Cette lampe des méchants, ce n’est que péché.
5 Les projets de l’homme diligent ne mènent qu’à l’abondance, Mais celui qui agit avec précipitation n’arrive qu’à la disette.
6 Des trésors acquis par une langue mensongère Sont une vanité fugitive et l’avant-coureur de la mort.
7 La violence des méchants les emporte, Parce qu’ils refusent de faire ce qui est juste.
8 Le coupable suit des voies détournées, Mais l’innocent agit avec droiture.
9 Mieux vaut habiter à l’angle d’un toit, Que de partager la demeure d’une femme querelleuse.
10 L’âme du méchant désire le mal; Son ami ne trouve pas grâce à ses yeux.
11 Quand on châtie le moqueur, le sot devient sage; Et quand on instruit le sage, il accueille la science.
12 Le juste considère la maison du méchant; L’Éternel précipite les méchants dans le malheur.
13 Celui qui ferme son oreille au cri du pauvre Criera lui-même et n’aura point de réponse.
14 Un don fait en secret apaise la colère, Et un présent fait en cachette calme une fureur violente.
15 C’est une joie pour le juste de pratiquer la justice, Mais la ruine est pour ceux qui font le mal.
16 L’homme qui s’écarte du chemin de la sagesse Reposera dans l’assemblée des morts.
17 Celui qui aime la joie reste dans l’indigence; Celui qui aime le vin et l’huile ne s’enrichit pas.
18 Le méchant sert de rançon pour le juste, Et le perfide pour les hommes droits.
19 Mieux vaut habiter dans une terre déserte, Qu’avec une femme querelleuse et irritable.
20 De précieux trésors et de l’huile sont dans la demeure du sage; Mais l’homme insensé les engloutit.
21 Celui qui poursuit la justice et la bonté Trouve la vie, la justice et la gloire.
22 Le sage monte dans la ville des héros, Et il abat la force qui lui donnait de l’assurance.
23 Celui qui veille sur sa bouche et sur sa langue Préserve son âme des angoisses.
24 L’orgueilleux, le hautain, s’appelle un moqueur; Il agit avec la fureur de l’arrogance.
25 Les désirs du paresseux le tuent, Parce que ses mains refusent de travailler;
26 Tout le jour il éprouve des désirs; Mais le juste donne sans parcimonie.
27 Le sacrifice des méchants est quelque chose d’abominable; Combien plus quand ils l’offrent avec des pensées criminelles!
28 Le témoin menteur périra, Mais l’homme qui écoute parlera toujours.
29 Le méchant prend un air effronté, Mais l’homme droit affermit sa voie.
30 Il n’y a ni sagesse, ni intelligence, Ni conseil, en face de l’Éternel.
31 Le cheval est équipé pour le jour de la bataille, Mais la délivrance appartient à l’Éternel.

Proverbs 21
1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.
