1 Lè Jezi wè foul moun yo, li moute sou yon mòn. Li chita. Disip li yo pwoche bò kote l’.
2 Li tanmen moutre moun yo anpil bagay. Li di yo:
3 Benediksyon pou moun ki konnen se pòv yo ye devan Bondye, paske peyi Wa ki nan syèl la, se pou yo li ye.
4 Benediksyon pou moun ki nan lapenn, paske Bondye va ba yo kouraj.
5 Benediksyon pou moun ki dou, paske y’a resevwa byen Bondye te sere pou yo a sou latè.
6 Benediksyon pou moun ki anvi viv jan Bondye vle l’ la, paske Bondye va ba yo sa yo vle a.
7 Benediksyon pou moun ki gen kè sansib, paske Bondye va fè yo wè jan li gen kè sansib tou.
8 Benediksyon pou moun ki pa gen move lide nan tèt yo, paske y’a wè Bondye.
9 Benediksyon pou moun k’ap travay pou lèzòm viv byen yonn ak lòt, paske Bondye va rele yo pitit li.
10 Benediksyon pou moun ki anba pèsekisyon lè y’ap fè sa Bondye mande, paske peyi Wa ki nan syèl la, se pou yo li ye.
11 Benediksyon pou nou lè moun va joure nou, lè y’a pèsekite nou, lè y’a fè tout kalite manti sou nou paske se moun pa m’ nou ye.
12 Fè kè nou kontan. Wi, nou mèt kontan nèt, paske yon gwo rekonpans ap tann nou nan syèl la. Se konsa yo te pèsekite pwofèt ki te vini anvan nou yo.
13 Se sèl nou ye pou moun sou latè. Si sèl la pèdi gou l’, ak kisa pou yo ba li gou ankò? Li pa vo anyen ankò. Se jete pou yo voye sa jete deyò, pou moun pile sa anba pye yo.
14 Se limyè nou ye pou moun sou latè. Moun pa kapab kache yon lavil ki bati sou yon mòn.
15 Ni yo pa limen yon lanp pou mete l’ anba yon mamit. Men, yo mete l’ sou yon etajè, pou l’ klere pou tout moun ki nan kay la.
16 Konsa tou, se pou limyè nou klere devan tout moun, pou lè yo wè tout byen n’ap fè yo, y’a fè lwanj Papa nou ki nan syèl la.
17 Pa mete nan tèt nou mwen vin aboli lalwa Moyiz la ak sa pwofèt yo te moutre nou. Mwen pa vin pou aboli yo, mwen vin moutre sa yo vle di tout bon.
18 Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: tout tan syèl la ak tè a va la, pa yon ti detay, ni yon sèl ti bout lèt nan lalwa a p’ap disparèt, jouk tout bagay ki pou rive yo rive.
19 Se sa ki fè, moun ki va dezobeyi yonn nan pi piti nan kòmandman sa yo, epi ki va moutre lòt moun pou yo fè menm jan an tou, moun sa a va pase pou pi piti nan Peyi Wa ki nan syèl la. Konsa tou, moun ki obeyi kòmandman sa yo, k’ap moutre lòt moun jan pou yo fè l’ tou, moun sa a va pase pou pi gran nan Peyi Wa ki nan syèl la.
20 Paske m’ap di nou sa: Si nou pa obeyi Lalwa Bondye a pi byen pase farizyen yo ak direktè lalwa yo, si nou pa viv pi byen pase yo, nou p’ap kapab antre nan Peyi Wa ki nan syèl la.
21 Nou tande ki jan nan tan lontan yo te di zansèt nou yo: Piga ou janm touye moun. Moun ki touye moun, se pou yo jije yo.
22 Men, mwen menm, men sa m’ap di nou: Nenpòt moun ki ankòlè sou frè l’, se pou yo jije li. Moun ki joure frè l’ enbesil, se pou yo jije l’ devan Gran Konsèy la. Si yon moun di frè l’ moun fou, li bon pou yo jete l’ nan dife lanfè a.
23 Konsa, si lè w’ap mete ofrann ou sou lotèl la bay Bondye, epi antan ou la devan lotèl la, ou chonje frè ou gen kichòy kont ou, men sa pou ou fè:
24 Kite ofrann lan la devan lotèl la, ale byen ak frè ou la anvan. Apre sa, wa tounen vin bay Bondye ofrann ou an.
25 Si yon moun pote plent pou ou nan tribinal, prese mete ou dakò avè l’ antan nou prale ansanm nan tribinal la, pou li pa lage ou nan men jij la, pou jij la pa lage ou nan men lapolis, pou yo pa mete ou nan prizon.
26 Sa m’ap di ou la, se vre wi: ou p’ap soti nan prizon an toutotan ou pa peye dènye lajan yo mande ou la.
27 Nou tande ki jan nan tan lontan yo te di: Piga ou janm fè adiltè.
28 Mwen menm, men sa m’ap di nou: Si yon nonm gade yon fi avèk lanvi, li deja fè adiltè avè l’ nan kè l’.
29 Si se grenn je dwat ou ki pou ta fè ou tonbe nan peche, rache l’ voye jete byen lwen ou. Pito ou pèdi yon sèl manm nan kò ou, pase pou yo voye tout kò ou nèt jete nan lanfè.
30 Si se men dwat ou ki pou ta fè ou tonbe nan peche, koupe l’ voye jete byen lwen ou. Pito ou pèdi yon sèl nan manm ou yo, pase pou tout kò a nèt al nan lanfè.
31 Yo te konn di nou tou: Si yon nonm vle kite ak madanm li, fòk li ekri l’ yon papye divòs.
32 Men mwen menm, men sa m’ap di nou: Yon nonm ki kite ak madanm li, si se pa pou lenkondit, nonm sa a lakòz madanm lan fè adiltè. Konsa tou, yon nonm ki marye ak yon madanm mari l’ kite l’, li fè adiltè tou.
33 Nou tande ki jan nan tan lontan yo te di zansèt nou yo: Ou pa dwe refize fè sa ou te sèmante pou ou te fè a. Se pou ou fè sa ou te sèmante fè devan Bondye.
34 Men mwen menm, men sa m’ap di nou: Pa fè sèman menm. Pa fè sèman sou syèl la, paske syèl la se fotèy kote Bondye chita.
35 Pa fè sèman sou tè a, paske tè a se ti ban kote Bondye poze pye li. Pa fè sèman sou lavil Jerizalèm, paske se lavil gwo Wa a.
36 Pa fè sèman non plis sou tèt pa ou, paske ou pa ka fè yon sèl grenn cheve nan tèt ou tounen blan osinon nwa.
37 Men, lè w’ap pale se wi ak non pou ou genyen ase. Tou sa ou mete an plis, se nan Satan sa soti.
38 Nou tande ki jan nan tan lontan yo te di: yon je pou yon je, yon dan pou yon dan.
39 Men mwen menm, men sa m’ap di nou: Pa tire revanj sou moun ki fè nou mal. Si yon moun ba ou yon souflèt sou bò dwat, ba li bò gòch la tou.
40 Si yon moun vle rele ou nan tribinal pou l’ pran chemiz ou, kite palto a ba li tou.
41 Si yon chèf vle fòse ou pote yon chaj pou li sou distans yon kilomèt, fè de kolomèt avè l’.
42 Bay lè moun mande ou. Pa refize prete moun ki mande ou prete.
43 Nou tande ki jan nan tan lontan yo te di: Se pou nou renmen frè parèy nou, men se pou nou rayi lènmi nou yo.
44 Men mwen menm, men sa m’ap di nou: renmen tout lènmi nou yo, lapriyè pou moun k’ap pèsekite nou.
45 Se konsa n’a tounen pitit Papa nou ki nan syèl la. Paske, li fè solèy la leve ni pou moun ki mechan ni pou moun ki bon. Li fè lapli tonbe ni pou moun k’ap fè sa ki byen ni pou moun k’ap fè sa ki mal.
46 Si nou plede renmen moun ki renmen nou ase, ki rekonpans nou merite pou sa? Eske pèseptè kontribisyon yo pa fè sa tou?
47 Lèfini, si se frè nou ase nou di bonjou, se yon pakèt afè sa ye atò? Eske moun lòt nasyon yo pa fè sa tou?
48 Non, nou fèt pou nou bon nèt, menm jan Bondye Papa nou ki nan syèl la bon nèt.

1 Voyant la foule, Jésus monta sur la montagne; et, après qu’il se fut assis, ses disciples s’approchèrent de lui.
2 Puis, ayant ouvert la bouche, il les enseigna, et dit:
3 Heureux les pauvres en esprit, car le royaume des cieux est à eux!
4 Heureux les affligés, car ils seront consolés!
5 Heureux les débonnaires, car ils hériteront la terre!
6 Heureux ceux qui ont faim et soif de la justice, car ils seront rassasiés!
7 Heureux les miséricordieux, car ils obtiendront miséricorde!
8 Heureux ceux qui ont le coeur pur, car ils verront Dieu!
9 Heureux ceux qui procurent la paix, car ils seront appelés fils de Dieu!
10 Heureux ceux qui sont persécutés pour la justice, car le royaume des cieux est à eux!
11 Heureux serez-vous, lorsqu’on vous outragera, qu’on vous persécutera et qu’on dira faussement de vous toute sorte de mal, à cause de moi.
12 Réjouissez-vous et soyez dans l’allégresse, parce que votre récompense sera grande dans les cieux; car c’est ainsi qu’on a persécuté les prophètes qui ont été avant vous.
13 Vous êtes le sel de la terre. Mais si le sel perd sa saveur, avec quoi la lui rendra-t-on? Il ne sert plus qu’à être jeté dehors, et foulé aux pieds par les hommes.
14 Vous êtes la lumière du monde. Une ville située sur une montagne ne peut être cachée;
15 et on n’allume pas une lampe pour la mettre sous le boisseau, mais on la met sur le chandelier, et elle éclaire tous ceux qui sont dans la maison.
16 Que votre lumière luise ainsi devant les hommes, afin qu’ils voient vos bonnes oeuvres, et qu’ils glorifient votre Père qui est dans les cieux.
17 Ne croyez pas que je sois venu pour abolir la loi ou les prophètes; je suis venu non pour abolir, mais pour accomplir.
18 Car, je vous le dis en vérité, tant que le ciel et la terre ne passeront point, il ne disparaîtra pas de la loi un seul iota ou un seul trait de lettre, jusqu’à ce que tout soit arrivé.
19 Celui donc qui supprimera l’un de ces plus petits commandements, et qui enseignera aux hommes à faire de même, sera appelé le plus petit dans le royaume des cieux; mais celui qui les observera, et qui enseignera à les observer, celui-là sera appelé grand dans le royaume des cieux.
20 Car, je vous le dis, si votre justice ne surpasse celle des scribes et des pharisiens, vous n’entrerez point dans le royaume des cieux.
21 Vous avez entendu qu’il a été dit aux anciens: Tu ne tueras point; celui qui tuera mérite d’être puni par les juges.
22 Mais moi, je vous dis que quiconque se met en colère contre son frère mérite d’être puni par les juges; que celui qui dira à son frère: Raca! mérite d’être puni par le sanhédrin; et que celui qui lui dira: Insensé! mérite d’être puni par le feu de la géhenne.
23 Si donc tu présentes ton offrande à l’autel, et que là tu te souviennes que ton frère a quelque chose contre toi,
24 laisse là ton offrande devant l’autel, et va d’abord te réconcilier avec ton frère; puis, viens présenter ton offrande.
25 Accorde-toi promptement avec ton adversaire, pendant que tu es en chemin avec lui, de peur qu’il ne te livre au juge, que le juge ne te livre à l’officier de justice, et que tu ne sois mis en prison.
26 Je te le dis en vérité, tu ne sortiras pas de là que tu n’aies payé le dernier quadrant.
27 Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit: Tu ne commettras point d’adultère.
28 Mais moi, je vous dis que quiconque regarde une femme pour la convoiter a déjà commis un adultère avec elle dans son coeur.
29 Si ton oeil droit est pour toi une occasion de chute, arrache-le et jette-le loin de toi; car il est avantageux pour toi qu’un seul de tes membres périsse, et que ton corps entier ne soit pas jeté dans la géhenne.
30 Et si ta main droite est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-la et jette-la loin de toi; car il est avantageux pour toi qu’un seul de tes membres périsse, et que ton corps entier n’aille pas dans la géhenne.
31 Il a été dit: Que celui qui répudie sa femme lui donne une lettre de divorce.
32 Mais moi, je vous dis que celui qui répudie sa femme, sauf pour cause d’infidélité, l’expose à devenir adultère, et que celui qui épouse une femme répudiée commet un adultère.
33 Vous avez encore appris qu’il a été dit aux anciens: Tu ne te parjureras point, mais tu t’acquitteras envers le Seigneur de ce que tu as déclaré par serment.
34 Mais moi, je vous dis de ne jurer aucunement, ni par le ciel, parce que c’est le trône de Dieu;
35 ni par la terre, parce que c’est son marchepied; ni par Jérusalem, parce que c’est la ville du grand roi.
36 Ne jure pas non plus par ta tête, car tu ne peux rendre blanc ou noir un seul cheveu.
37 Que votre parole soit oui, oui, non, non; ce qu’on y ajoute vient du malin.
38 Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit: oeil pour oeil, et dent pour dent.
39 Mais moi, je vous dis de ne pas résister au méchant. Si quelqu’un te frappe sur la joue droite, présente-lui aussi l’autre.
40 Si quelqu’un veut plaider contre toi, et prendre ta tunique, laisse-lui encore ton manteau.
41 Si quelqu’un te force à faire un mille, fais-en deux avec lui.
42 Donne à celui qui te demande, et ne te détourne pas de celui qui veut emprunter de toi.
43 Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit: Tu aimeras ton prochain, et tu haïras ton ennemi.
44 Mais moi, je vous dis: Aimez vos ennemis, bénissez ceux qui vous maudissent, faites du bien à ceux qui vous haïssent, et priez pour ceux qui vous maltraitent et qui vous persécutent,
45 afin que vous soyez fils de votre Père qui est dans les cieux; car il fait lever son soleil sur les méchants et sur les bons, et il fait pleuvoir sur les justes et sur les injustes.
46 Si vous aimez ceux qui vous aiment, quelle récompense méritez-vous? Les publicains aussi n’agissent-ils pas de même?
47 Et si vous saluez seulement vos frères, que faites-vous d’extraordinaire? Les païens aussi n’agissent-ils pas de même?
48 Soyez donc parfaits, comme votre Père céleste est parfait.

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
