Pwovèb 9
1 Bon konprann bati kay li, li kanpe l’ avèk sèt gwo poto.
2 Li fè yo pare bon vyann pou fè fèt, li fè bon konpoze ak diven, li ranje tab la byen ranje.
3 Li rele sèvant li yo, li voye yo moute kote ki pi wo nan lavil la pou fè tout moun konnen nouvèl la, pou di yo:
4 Nou menm ki poko konn anyen, vini non! Li rele moun san konprann yo, l’ap di yo:
5 Vin manje manje mwen an non! Vin bwè bon diven mwen pare a non!
6 Kite sòt! Vin aprann lavi! Vin mache nan chemen konesans.
7 Si w’ap kouri dèyè yon moun k’ap pase moun nan betiz, l’ap joure ou mete sou li. Si w’ap rale zòrèy yon mechan, l’ap bat ou mete sou li.
8 Pa janm kouri dèyè yon moun k’ap pase moun nan betiz. L’a rayi ou. Men, si w’ap kouri dèyè yon moun ki gen konprann, l’a gen respè pou ou.
9 Si ou pale ak yon moun ki gen bon konprann, w’ap fè l’ gen plis bon konprann toujou. Plis w’ap moutre yon nonm debyen, plis l’ap mete sou konesans li.
10 Lè ou gen krentif pou Bondye, se lè sa a ou konmanse gen bon konprann. Si ou konnen ki moun Bondye ye, ou gen lespri.
11 Bon konprann ap fè ou viv lontan. L’ap fè ou wè plizyè lanne.
12 Si ou gen bon konprann, premye moun k’ap pwofite sa se ou menm. Konsa tou, si w’ap pase konesans nan betiz, se ou menm tou k’ap peye konsekans lan pou kont ou.
13 Moun sòt, se tankou yon fanm ki pale fò, ki pa konn anyen, ki pa wont anyen.
14 Li chita sou yon chèz devan papòt lakay li, li kage chèz li kote ki pi wo nan lavil la.
15 L’ap rele moun ki sou wout yo, ki pa sou bò l’. L’ap di yo:
16 Vini jwenn mwen non, nou menm ki poko konn anyen! Li pale ak moun ki san konprann yo, li di yo:
17 Dlo kay moun toujou pi fre. Manje deyò toujou gen pi bon gou!
18 Men, moun ki pran nan pawòl fanm sa a pa konnen lè yo mete pye lakay li se papye lanmò yo yo senyen. Depi yo antre lakay li, yo deja mouri.

Proverbes 9
1 La sagesse a bâti sa maison, Elle a taillé ses sept colonnes.
2 Elle a égorgé ses victimes, mêlé son vin, Et dressé sa table.
3 Elle a envoyé ses servantes, elle crie Sur le sommet des hauteurs de la ville:
4 Que celui qui est stupide entre ici! Elle dit à ceux qui sont dépourvus de sens:
5 Venez, mangez de mon pain, Et buvez du vin que j’ai mêlé;
6 Quittez la stupidité, et vous vivrez, Et marchez dans la voie de l’intelligence!
7 Celui qui reprend le moqueur s’attire le dédain, Et celui qui corrige le méchant reçoit un outrage.
8 Ne reprends pas le moqueur, de crainte qu’il ne te haïsse; Reprends le sage, et il t’aimera.
9 Donne au sage, et il deviendra plus sage; Instruis le juste, et il augmentera son savoir.
10 Le commencement de la sagesse, c’est la crainte de l’Éternel; Et la science des saints, c’est l’intelligence.
11 C’est par moi que tes jours se multiplieront, Et que les années de ta vie augmenteront.
12 Si tu es sage, tu es sage pour toi; Si tu es moqueur, tu en porteras seul la peine.
13 La folie est une femme bruyante, Stupide et ne sachant rien.
14 Elle s’assied à l’entrée de sa maison, Sur un siège, dans les hauteurs de la ville,
15 Pour crier aux passants, Qui vont droit leur chemin:
16 Que celui qui est stupide entre ici! Elle dit à celui qui est dépourvu de sens:
17 Les eaux dérobées sont douces, Et le pain du mystère est agréable!
18 Et il ne sait pas que là sont les morts, Et que ses invités sont dans les vallées du séjour des morts.

Proverbs 9
1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
2 She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
4 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
5 Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
13 A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
14 For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15 To call passengers who go right on their ways:
16 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
17 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
