1 David mande pou tout otorite peyi Izrayèl la reyini lavil Jerizalèm. Se konsa tout chèf branch fanmi yo, tout chèf gwoup ki te reskonsab dirije peyi a pou wa a, tout kòmandan rejiman mil sòlda yo ak kòmandan divizyon san sòlda yo, jeran tout tè ak gadò tout bèt ki pou wa a ak pou pitit li yo, moun konfyans li yo, chèf lame li yo ak tout vanyan sòlda li yo, yo tout reyini lavil Jerizalèm.
2 David kanpe devan yo tout, li di yo konsa: -Frè m’ yo ak nou tout moun nan pèp mwen an, koute sa m’ap di nou. Mwen te fè lide bati yon kay kote pou Bwat Kontra Seyè a rete, yon kay kote Seyè a ka mete fotèy li. Mwen te pare tout bagay pou bati kay la.
3 Men, Bondye te fè m’ konnen mwen p’ap ka bati kay la pou li paske se sòlda mwen ye, mwen fè twòp san koule.
4 Men se mwen menm Seyè a, Bondye Izrayèl la, te chwazi nan mitan tout fanmi m’ yo pou fè m’ wa peyi Izrayèl la pou tout tan. Li te chwazi branch fanmi Jida a pou pran kòmandman peyi a. Nan branch fanmi Jida a, li chwazi fanmi papa m’. Nan fanmi papa m’, sa te fè l’ plezi pou l’ chwazi m’ pou l’ mete m’ wa sou tout peyi Izrayèl la.
5 Koulye a, Seyè a te ban mwen anpil pitit. Men, nan tout pitit sa yo li chwazi Salomon pou chita sou fotèy la pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la ak pouvwa l’ap ba li.
6 Seyè a te di m’ tou: Se Salomon, pitit gason ou lan, ki va bati kay mwen an ak tout lakou yo. Se li menm mwen chwazi pou pitit mwen. M’a yon papa pou li.
7 M’ap fè gouvènman l’ lan kanpe fèm pou tout tan, depi li menm li toujou kenbe lòd mwen, depi li toujou mache dapre kòmandman m’ yo jan l’ap fè l’ jòdi a.
8 Koulye a, devan tout pèp Izrayèl la, pèp Bondye a ki sanble isit la, ak devan Bondye nou k’ap koute nou an, mwen mande pou nou kenbe tout kòmandman Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ban nou pou bèl peyi nou sa a toujou rete pou nou. Konsa, nou ka kite l’ pou pitit nou yo jouk sa kaba.
9 Ou menm, Salomon, pitit mwen, se pou ou rekonèt Bondye papa ou la. Se pou ou sèvi l’ ak tout kè ou, avèk bon santiman, paske Seyè a sonde kè tout moun, li konnen tou sa k’ap pase nan tèt yo. Konsa, si ou chache l’, l’ap kite ou jwenn li. Men, si ou vire do ba li, l’ap lage ou nèt tou pou tout tan.
10 Se pou ou rekonèt se Seyè a menm ki chwazi ou pou bati yon kay pou mete apa pou li. Mete gason sou ou! Antre nan travay!
11 Apre sa, David bay Salomon plan tout kay tanp lan, plan tout chanm ak tout depo yo, plan tout lòt chanm sou anwo yo, chanm anndan yo ak plan gwo chanm yo mete apa pou Bondye a, kote yo fè sèvis pou mande padon pou peche yo.
12 Li ba li plan tout bagay li te gen nan tèt li pou lakou tanp yo, pou tout chanm ki bay sou lakou yo, pou depo veso yo sèvi nan tanp lan ak pou depo bagay yo ofri pou mete apa pou Seyè a.
13 David te ba li tou jan pou li òganize prèt yo ak moun Levi yo pou yo fè travay yo, jan pou yo fè tout sèvis nan kay Seyè a, ak jan pou yo okipe tout veso Tanp lan.
14 Li di li konbe ajan ak lò la bezwen pou fè veso yo,
15 pou chak lanp, pou chak gwo lanp sèt branch an ajan osinon an lò ak pèz yo chak dwe genyen dapre sèvis yo,
16 pou chak tab an ajan osinon an lò kote pou yo ranje pen yo mete apa pou Seyè a.
17 Li di li konbe lò l’a bezwen pou fè fouchèt yo, bòl yo, gwo gode yo, ak modèl lòt veso an ajan osinon an lò dapre pèz yo chak.
18 Li di l’ konbe bon lò l’ap bezwen pou fè lotèl lansan an, ak lò pou fè kabwa a, pou pòtre zanj cheriben yo ak zèl yo louvri sou Bwat Kontra Seyè a.
19 David di li: -Tout plan travay la ekri an detay nan yon liv dapre lòd Seyè a menm te ban mwen. Li esplike m’ tou sa pou m’ fè.
20 Apre sa, wa David di Salomon, pitit li a: -Mete gason sou ou! Pran kouraj, pitit mwen! Fè sa ou gen pou fè a! Pa kite anyen fè ou pè, paske Seyè a, Bondye mwen an, kanpe la avè ou, jouk tout travay pou sèvis Tanp lan fini.
21 Gwoup prèt yo ak gwoup moun Levi yo deja resevwa travay pou yo fè nan Tanp lan. Pou tout lòt travay yo, ou gen avè ou ouvriye ki vle ede ou, lèfini ki gen ladrès nan tout kalite djòb. Chèf yo ak tout pèp la ap tann lòd ou pou tout bagay fèt.

1 David convoqua à Jérusalem tous les chefs d’Israël, les chefs des tribus, les chefs des divisions au service du roi, les chefs de milliers et les chefs de centaines, ceux qui étaient en charge sur tous les biens et les troupeaux du roi et auprès de ses fils, les eunuques, les héros et tous les hommes vaillants.
2 Le roi David se leva sur ses pieds, et dit: Écoutez-moi, mes frères et mon peuple! J’avais l’intention de bâtir une maison de repos pour l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel et pour le marchepied de notre Dieu, et je me préparais à bâtir.
3 Mais Dieu m’a dit: Tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, car tu es un homme de guerre et tu as versé du sang.
4 L’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, m’a choisi dans toute la maison de mon père, pour que je fusse roi d’Israël à toujours; car il a choisi Juda pour chef, il a choisi la maison de mon père dans la maison de Juda, et parmi les fils de mon père c’est moi qu’il a voulu faire régner sur tout Israël.
5 Entre tous mes fils-car l’Éternel m’a donné beaucoup de fils-il a choisi mon fils Salomon pour le faire asseoir sur le trône du royaume de l’Éternel, sur Israël.
6 Il m’a dit: Salomon, ton fils, bâtira ma maison et mes parvis; car je l’ai choisi pour mon fils, et je serai pour lui un père.
7 J’affermirai pour toujours son royaume, s’il reste attaché comme aujourd’hui à la pratique de mes commandements et de mes ordonnances.
8 Maintenant, aux yeux de tout Israël, de l’assemblée de l’Éternel, et en présence de notre Dieu qui vous entend, observez et prenez à coeur tous les commandements de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, afin que vous possédiez ce bon pays et que vous le laissiez en héritage à vos fils après vous à perpétuité.
9 Et toi, Salomon, mon fils, connais le Dieu de ton père, et sers-le d’un coeur dévoué et d’une âme bien disposée, car l’Éternel sonde tous les coeurs et pénètre tous les desseins et toutes les pensées. Si tu le cherches, il se laissera trouver par toi; mais si tu l’abandonnes, il te rejettera pour toujours.
10 Considère maintenant que l’Éternel t’a choisi, afin que tu bâtisses une maison qui serve de sanctuaire. Fortifie-toi et agis.
11 David donna à Salomon, son fils, le modèle du portique et des bâtiments, des chambres du trésor, des chambres hautes, des chambres intérieures, et de la chambre du propitiatoire.
12 Il lui donna le plan de tout ce qu’il avait dans l’esprit touchant les parvis de la maison de l’Éternel, et toutes les chambres à l’entour pour les trésors de la maison de Dieu et les trésors du sanctuaire,
13 et touchant les classes des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, tout ce qui concernait le service de la maison de l’Éternel, et tous les ustensiles pour le service de la maison de l’Éternel.
14 Il lui donna le modèle des ustensiles d’or, avec le poids de ce qui devait être d’or, pour tous les ustensiles de chaque service; et le modèle de tous les ustensiles d’argent, avec le poids, pour tous les ustensiles de chaque service.
15 Il donna le poids des chandeliers d’or et de leurs lampes d’or, avec le poids de chaque chandelier et de ses lampes; et le poids des chandeliers d’argent, avec le poids de chaque chandelier et de ses lampes, selon l’usage de chaque chandelier.
16 Il lui donna l’or au poids pour les tables des pains de proposition, pour chaque table; et de l’argent pour les tables d’argent.
17 Il lui donna le modèle des fourchettes, des bassins et des calices d’or pur; le modèle des coupes d’or, avec le poids de chaque coupe, et des coupes d’argent, avec le poids de chaque coupe;
18 et le modèle de l’autel des parfums en or épuré, avec le poids. Il lui donna encore le modèle du char, des chérubins d’or qui étendent leurs ailes et couvrent l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel.
19 C’est par un écrit de sa main, dit David, que l’Éternel m’a donné l’intelligence de tout cela, de tous les ouvrages de ce modèle.
20 David dit à Salomon, son fils: Fortifie-toi, prends courage et agis; ne crains point, et ne t’effraie point. Car l’Éternel Dieu, mon Dieu, sera avec toi; il ne te délaissera point, il ne t’abandonnera point, jusqu’à ce que tout l’ouvrage pour le service de la maison de l’Éternel soit achevé.
21 Voici les classes des sacrificateurs et des Lévites pour tout le service de la maison de Dieu; et voici près de toi, pour toute l’oeuvre, tous les hommes bien disposés et habiles dans toute espèce d’ouvrages, et les chefs et tout le peuple dociles à tous tes ordres.

1 And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.
4 Howbeit the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
5 And of all my sons, (for the Lord hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.
9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
12 And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the Lord, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:
13 Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the Lord, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the Lord.
14 He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:
15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.
16 And by weight he gave gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:
17 Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of silver:
18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
19 All this, said David, the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.
21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.
