Jòb 23
1 Lè sa a, Jòb pran lapawòl, li di konsa:
2 -Fwa sa a ankò, m’ap kenbe tèt ak Bondye, m’ap plenyen nan pye l’. Se plenn m’ap plenn pou sa m’ap pase anba men l’.
3 Si m’ te ka konnen kote pou m’ jwenn li, mwen ta rive kote l’ ye a.
4 M’ ta defann kòz mwen devan li. M’ ta di l’ dènye sa ki nan lide m’ pou defann tèt mwen.
5 M’ ta konnen jan l’ap reponn mwen, m’ ta tande sa l’ap di m’.
6 Eske Bondye tapral sèvi ak tout fòs li pou diskite avè m’? Non. Li ta rete koute m’ ase.
7 Li ta wè moun k’ap pale avè l’ la se yon moun ki toujou mache dwat. Li menm k’ap jije m’ lan, li ta rekonèt mwen inonsan.
8 M’ ale bò solèy leve, Bondye pa la. M’ ale bò solèy kouche, mwen pa wè l’ tou.
9 Mwen moute nan nò al chache l’, m’ pa wè l’. Mwen desann nan sid, bichi!
10 Men, Bondye konnen tout ti vire tounen mwen. Si li sonde m’, l’a wè m’ bon tankou bon lò ki pase nan dife.
11 M’ mache pye pou pye dèyè l’. M’ swiv chemen li mete devan m’ lan. M’ pa janm devire ni adwat ni agoch.
12 Mwen toujou fè tou sa li bay lòd fè. Mwen te fè volonte l’, mwen pa fè sa m’ te gen nan tèt mwen.
13 Men, lè Bondye fin deside yon bagay, ki moun ki ka fè l’ chanje lide? Ki moun ki ka enpoze l’ fè sa li vle fè a?
14 L’ap toujou fè m’ sa li vle fè m’ lan. Sa se yonn nan tout bagay li deside fè yo.
15 Se poutèt sa, m’ap tranble devan l’. Lè m’ chonje sa, mwen soti pè l’.
16 Men wi, se Bondye k’ap kraze kouraj mwen. Se Bondye menm mwen soti pè. Se pa fènwa a.
17 Fènwa a kache Bondye pou m’ pa wè l’. L’ enpoze m’ santi prezans li. Se tout!

Job 23
1 Job prit la parole et dit:
2 Maintenant encore ma plainte est une révolte, Mais la souffrance étouffe mes soupirs.
3 Oh! si je savais où le trouver, Si je pouvais arriver jusqu’à son trône,
4 Je plaiderais ma cause devant lui, Je remplirais ma bouche d’arguments,
5 Je connaîtrais ce qu’il peut avoir à répondre, Je verrais ce qu’il peut avoir à me dire.
6 Emploierait-il toute sa force à me combattre? Ne daignerait-il pas au moins m’écouter?
7 Ce serait un homme droit qui plaiderait avec lui, Et je serais pour toujours absous par mon juge.
8 Mais, si je vais à l’orient, il n’y est pas; Si je vais à l’occident, je ne le trouve pas;
9 Est-il occupé au nord, je ne puis le voir; Se cache-t-il au midi, je ne puis le découvrir.
10 Il sait néanmoins quelle voie j’ai suivie; Et, s’il m’éprouvait, je sortirais pur comme l’or.
11 Mon pied s’est attaché à ses pas; J’ai gardé sa voie, et je ne m’en suis point détourné.
12 Je n’ai pas abandonné les commandements de ses lèvres; J’ai fait plier ma volonté aux paroles de sa bouche.
13 Mais sa résolution est arrêtée; qui s’y opposera? Ce que son âme désire, il l’exécute.
14 Il accomplira donc ses desseins à mon égard, Et il en concevra bien d’autres encore.
15 Voilà pourquoi sa présence m’épouvante; Quand j’y pense, j’ai peur de lui.
16 Dieu a brisé mon courage, Le Tout Puissant m’a rempli d’effroi.
17 Car ce ne sont pas les ténèbres qui m’anéantissent, Ce n’est pas l’obscurité dont je suis couvert.

Job 23
1 Then Job answered and said,
2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
