Jeremi 36
1 Seyè a pale ak Jeremi ankò. Lè sa a, Jojakim, pitit Jozyas la, t’ap mache sou katran depi li te wa peyi Jida. Men sa Seyè a te di Jeremi:
2 -Pran yon woulo papye. W’a kouche sou li tou sa mwen te di ou sou peyi Izrayèl la, sou peyi Jida a ak sou tout lòt nasyon yo. W’a ekri tout mesaj mwen te ba ou, depi sou rèy wa Jozyas rive jouk jòdi a.
3 Ou pa janm konnen, lè moun peyi Jida yo va tande tout malè mwen fè lide voye sou yo, y’a konprann, y’a manyè kite move pant y’ap swiv la. Lè sa a, m’a padonnen tout mechanste ak peche yo te fè yo.
4 Se konsa, Jeremi rele Bawouk, pitit gason Nerija a, li dikte l’ tout mesaj Seyè a te ba li epi Bawouk ekri yo nan woulo liv la.
5 Apre sa, Jeremi bay Bawouk lòd sa yo: -Yo defann mwen antre nan tanp Seyè a. Mwen pa ka mete pye m’ la.
6 Men ou menm, ou prale nan tanp lan jou pou pèp la fè jèn lan. Ou pral li nan woulo liv ou te ekri a tou sa mwen te dikte ou la, tout mesaj Seyè a te bay yo. Ou pral li l’ byen fò pou tout moun ki nan tanp lan ka tande, pou moun ki soti nan lavil peyi Jida yo ka tande tou.
7 Ou pa janm konnen, yo ka pran lapriyè nan pye Bondye, y’a manyè kite move pant yo t’ap swiv la. Paske Seyè a fè yo konnen li move anpil, li fache anpil sou pèp la.
8 Bawouk, pitit Nerija a, fè tou sa Jeremi te ba li lòd fè a. Li kanpe nan mitan Tanp lan, li li mesaj Seyè yo ki te nan liv la.
9 Se te nan nevyèm mwa senkyèm lanne rèy Jojakim, pitit Jozyas la, yo te bay lòd pou tout moun lavil Jerizalèm yo ansanm ak tout moun ki te soti nan lavil peyi Jida yo epi ki te nan lavil Jerizalèm lan pou yo fè yon sèvis jèn pou mande Seyè a gras.
10 Lè sa a, Bawouk pran liv mesaj Jeremi yo, li li l’ nan tanp lan pou tout moun ka tande. Li te kanpe devan pyès chanm Gemarya, pitit gason Chafan an, ki te sekretè tanp lan. Chanm lan te bay sou gwo lakou anwo a, toupre kote yo pase pou antre nan Pòtay Nèf Tanp Seyè a.
11 Miche, pitit Gemarya a, pitit pitit Chafan an, te tande tout mesaj Seyè yo ki te ekri nan liv la.
12 Apre sa, li ale lakay wa a, nan biwo sekretè wa a, kote li jwenn tout gwo chèf yo reyini ap travay. Te gen Elichama, sekretè palè a, Delaya, pitit gason Chemaya, Elnatan, pitit Achbò, Gemarya, pitit Chafan, Zedekya, pitit Ananya, ak tout lòt gwo chèf yo.
13 Miche di yo tou sa li te sot tande Bawouk ap li nan zòrèy pèp la.
14 Lè sa a, gwo chèf yo voye Jeoudi bò kot Bawouk. Jeoudi sa a, se te pitit Netanya, pitit pitit Chelemya, pitit pitit pitit Kouchi. li al di Bawouk pou li pote woulo liv li te li nan zòrèy pèp la bay chèf yo. Bawouk pote woulo liv la ba yo.
15 Yo di l’ konsa: -Chita la, li l’ pou nou tande. Bawouk li liv la pou yo.
16 Lè yo tande tou sa ki te nan liv la, yo vin pè. Yonn pran gade lòt, epi yo di: -Se pou n’ al fè wa a konnen bagay sa yo.
17 Lèfini, yo mande Bawouk: -Mangè di nou ki jan ou te fè ka ekri tout bagay sa yo. Se Jeremi ki te dikte ou yo?
18 Bawouk reponn yo: -Se Jeremi menm ki te dikte tout mesaj sa yo. Mwen menm, mwen kouche yo sou woulo liv la ak lank.
19 Lè sa a, chèf yo di Bawouk: -Al kache tande, ou menm ansanm ak Jeremi. Pa kite pyès moun konnen kote nou ye.
20 Chèf yo kite woulo liv la lakay Elichama, sekretè palè a, y’ ale nan lakou palè a, y’ al rapòte wa a tout bagay.
21 Lè sa a atò, wa a voye Jeoudi al chache woulo liv la lakay Elichama, sekretè a. Jeoudi pote liv la vini. Li tanmen li li byen fò pou wa a ansanm ak lòt chèf ki te kanpe bò wa a.
22 Se te nan sezon fredi, nan nevyèm mwa a, wa a te nan kay kote li konn pase tan fredi a, li te chita devan yon gwo recho dife tou limen.
23 Chak fwa Jeoudi te fin li twa ou kat kolonn nan liv la, wa a koupe yo ak yon ti kouto epi li jete yo nan dife a. Konsa konsa, jouk li boule tout woulo liv la.
24 Men, ni wa a ni chèf li yo pa t’ gen kè kase, ni yo pa t’ fè anyen pou moutre yo te nan lapenn lè yo tande tou sa ki te nan woulo liv la.
25 Elnatan, pitit Delaja, ak Gemarya te lapriyè nan pye wa a pou li pa t’ boule woulo liv la. Men, wa a pa koute yo.
26 Okontrè, li pale ak Jerakmeyèl, pitit li a, ansanm ak Seraja, pitit Azryèl la, ak Chelemya, pitit Abdeyèl la. Li ba yo lòd pou yo arete pwofèt Jeremi ansanm ak Bawouk, sekretè l’ la. Men Seyè a pa kite yo jwenn yo.
27 Apre wa a te fin boule woulo liv ki te gen tout mesaj Jeremi te dikte Bawouk la, Seyè a pale ak Jeremi ankò. Li di l’ konsa:
28 -Al chache yon lòt woulo papye. Ekri tou sa ki te nan premye woulo Jojakim, wa peyi Jida a, te boule a.
29 Lèfini, men sa w’a di sou Jojakim, wa Jida a. Seyè a pale, li di konsa: Ou boule woulo liv la, pa vre? Epi ou mande Jeremi poukisa li te ekri wa Babilòn lan gen pou l’ vini pou l’ kraze peyi a, pou l’ touye dènye moun ak dènye bèt ki ladan l’.
30 Se poutèt sa, koulye a, men mesaj mwen menm Seyè a m’ap bay sou Jojakim, wa peyi Jida a: p’ap janm gen yonn nan pitit li yo ki pou chita sou fotèy David la pou gouvènen nan plas li. Kadav li pral rete atè konsa, pou chalè solèy bat li lajounen, pou fredi bat li lannwit.
31 M’ap pini yo, ni li menm ni pitit li yo, ni chèf li yo pou tou sa yo fè ki mal. Ni yo, ni moun lavil Jerizalèm yo, ni moun peyi Jida yo pa t’ koute m’ lè mwen t’ap avèti yo. M’ap voye sou yo malè mwen te di m’ap voye a.
32 Se konsa Jeremi pran yon lòt woulo liv. Li bay Bawouk, sekretè li a, pitit Nerija a. Bawouk menm ekri tou sa Jeremi te di l’. Li ekri tout mesaj ki te nan premye woulo liv wa Jojakim te boule a, ansanm ak anpil lòt mesaj menm jan ak premye yo.

Jérémie 36
1 La quatrième année de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, cette parole fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l’Éternel, en ces mots:
2 Prends un livre, et tu y écriras toutes les paroles que je t’ai dites sur Israël et sur Juda, et sur toutes les nations, depuis le jour où je t’ai parlé, au temps de Josias, jusqu’à ce jour.
3 Quand la maison de Juda entendra tout le mal que je pense lui faire, peut-être reviendront-il chacun de leur mauvaise voie; alors je pardonnerai leur iniquité et leur péché.
4 Jérémie appela Baruc, fils de Nérija; et Baruc écrivit dans un livre, sous la dictée de Jérémie, toutes les paroles que l’Éternel avait dites à Jérémie.
5 Puis Jérémie donna cet ordre à Baruc: Je suis retenu, et je ne peux pas aller à la maison de l’Éternel.
6 Tu iras toi-même, et tu liras dans le livre que tu as écrit sous ma dictée les paroles de l’Éternel, aux oreilles du peuple, dans la maison de l’Éternel, le jour du jeûne; tu les liras aussi aux oreilles de tous ceux de Juda qui seront venus de leurs villes.
7 Peut-être l’Éternel écoutera-t-il leurs supplications, et reviendront ils chacun de leur mauvaise voie; car grande est la colère, la fureur dont l’Éternel a menacé ce peuple.
8 Baruc, fils de Nérija, fit tout ce que lui avait ordonné Jérémie, le prophète, et lut dans le livre les paroles de l’Éternel, dans la maison de l’Éternel.
9 La cinquième année de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, le neuvième mois, on publia un jeûne devant l’Éternel pour tout le peuple de Jérusalem et pour tout le peuple venu des villes de Juda à Jérusalem.
10 Et Baruc lut dans le livre les paroles de Jérémie, aux oreilles de tout le peuple, dans la maison de l’Éternel, dans la chambre de Guemaria, fils de Schaphan, le secrétaire, dans le parvis supérieur, à l’entrée de la porte neuve de la maison de l’Éternel.
11 Michée, fils de Guemaria, fils de Schaphan, ayant entendu toutes les paroles de l’Éternel contenues dans le livre,
12 descendit à la maison du roi, dans la chambre du secrétaire, où étaient assis tous les chefs, Élischama, le secrétaire, Delaja, fils de Schemaeja, Elnathan, fils de d’Acbor, Guemaria, fils de Schaphan, Sédécias, fils de Hanania, et tous les autres chefs.
13 Et Michée leur rapporta toutes les paroles qu’il avait entendues, lorsque Baruc lisait dans le livre, aux oreilles du peuple.
14 Alors tous les chefs envoyèrent vers Baruc Jehudi, fils de Nethania, fils de Schélémia, fils de Cuschi, pour lui dire: Prends en main le livre dans lequel tu as lu, aux oreilles du peuple, et viens! Baruc, fils de Nérija, prit en main le livre, et se rendit auprès d’eux.
15 Ils lui dirent: Assieds-toi, et lis-le à nos oreilles. Et Baruc lut à leurs oreilles.
16 Lorsqu’ils eurent entendu toutes les paroles, ils se regardèrent avec effroi les uns les autres, et ils dirent à Baruc: Nous rapporterons au roi toutes ces paroles.
17 Ils posèrent encore à Baruc cette question: Dis-nous comment tu as écrit toutes ces paroles sous sa dictée.
18 Baruc leur répondit: Il m’a dicté de sa bouche toutes ces paroles, et je les ai écrites dans ce livre avec de l’encre.
19 Les chefs dirent à Baruc: Va, cache-toi, ainsi que Jérémie, et que personne ne sache où vous êtes.
20 Ils allèrent ensuite vers le roi dans la cour, laissant le livre dans la chambre d’Élischama, le secrétaire, et ils en rapportèrent toutes les paroles aux oreilles du roi.
21 Le roi envoya Jehudi pour prendre le livre, Jehudi le prit dans la chambre d’Élischama, le secrétaire, et il le lut aux oreilles du roi et aux oreilles de tous les chefs qui étaient auprès du roi.
22 Le roi était assis dans la maison d’hiver, -c’était au neuvième mois, -et un brasier était allumé devant lui.
23 Lorsque Jehudi eut lu trois ou quatre feuilles, le roi coupa le livre avec le canif du secrétaire, et le jeta dans le feu du brasier, où il fut entièrement consumé.
24 Le roi et tous ses serviteurs, qui entendirent toutes ces paroles, ne furent point effrayés et ne déchirèrent point leurs vêtements.
25 Elnathan, Delaja et Guemaria, avaient fait des instances auprès du roi pour qu’il ne brûlât pas le livre; mais il ne les écouta pas.
26 Le roi ordonna à Jerachmeel, fils du roi, à Seraja, fils d’Azriel, et à Schélémia, fils d’Abdeel, de saisir Baruc, le secrétaire, et Jérémie, le prophète. Mais l’Éternel les cacha.
27 La parole de l’Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie, en ces mots, après que le roi eut brûlé le livre contenant les paroles que Baruc avait écrites sous la dictée de Jérémie:
28 Prends de nouveau un autre livre, et tu y écriras toutes les paroles qui étaient dans le premier livre qu’a brûlé Jojakim, roi de Juda.
29 Et sur Jojakim, roi de Juda, tu diras: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Tu as brûlé ce livre, en disant: Pourquoi y as-tu écrit ces paroles: Le roi de Babylone viendra, il détruira ce pays, et il en fera disparaître les hommes et les bêtes?
30 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel sur Jojakim, roi de Juda: Aucun des siens ne sera assis sur le trône de David, et son cadavre sera exposé à la chaleur pendant le jour et au froid pendant la nuit.
31 Je le châtierai, lui, sa postérité, et ses serviteurs, à cause de leur iniquité, et je ferai venir sur eux, sur les habitants de Jérusalem et sur les hommes de Juda tous les malheurs dont je les ai menacés, sans qu’ils aient voulu m’écouter.
32 Jérémie prit un autre livre, et le donna à Baruc, fils de Nérija, le secrétaire. Baruc y écrivit, sous la dictée de Jérémie, toutes les paroles du livre qu’avait brûlé au feu Jojakim, roi de Juda. Beaucoup d’autres paroles semblables y furent encore ajoutées.

1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the Lord:
6 Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the Lord in the ears of the people in the Lord‘s house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
7 It may be they will present their supplication before the Lord, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord hath pronounced against this people.
8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the Lord in the Lord‘s house.
9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
10 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the Lord‘s house, in the ears of all the people.
11 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the Lord,
12 Then he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
13 Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
15 And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
16 Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
17 And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?
18 Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
19 Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.
20 And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.
21 So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe’s chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.
22 Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.
23 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.
24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
25 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
26 But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the Lord hid them.
27 Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
28 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.
29 And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the Lord; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
30 Therefore thus saith the Lord of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
31 And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.
32 Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.
