Matye 14
1 Lè sa a, Ewòd ki t’ap gouvènen nan peyi Galile tande pale sou Jezi.
2 Li di moun ki t’ap travay avè l’ yo: Se Jan Batis wi! Se li ki leve vivan nan lanmò. Se poutèt sa li ka fè tout mirak sa yo.
3 Se Ewòd menm ki te fè arete Jan Batis. Li te fè mare l’ mete nan prizon poutèt Ewodyad, madanm Filip, frè li.
4 Paske Jan te di Ewòd konsa: Ou pa gen dwa pran Ewodyad pou madanm ou.
5 Ewòd te vle touye l’, men li te pè jwif yo, paske yo tout te pran Jan Batis pou yon pwofèt.
6 Men, jou fèt Ewòd la, pitit fi Ewodyad la t’ap danse devan tout envite yo. Sa te fè Ewòd plezi anpil.
7 Lè sa a, Ewòd sèmante l’ap ba li nenpòt kisa li ta mande li.
8 Pitit fi Ewodyad la menm koute konsèy manman l’ te ba li, li di Ewòd: Fè pote tèt Jan Batis ban mwen koulye a sou yon plato.
9 Kè wa a kase. Men, akòz gwo sèman li te fè devan tout envite yo, li bay lòd pou yo bay fi a sa l’ te mande a.
10 Se konsa, Ewòd voye koupe tèt Jan Batis nan prizon an.
11 Yo pote tèt la vini sou yon plato, yo renmèt fi a li. Fi a menm pote l’ bay manman li.
12 Patizan Jan Batis yo vin pran kò a, yo antere li. Apre sa, y al di Jezi sa ki te pase.
13 Lè Jezi pran nouvèl sa a, li pati nan yon kannòt. Li te vle al yon kote ki pa gen moun pou l’ te ka pou kont li. Men, moun yo vin konn sa. Yo kouri soti nan tout lavil yo, yo pran mache sou rivaj la ap swiv li.
14 Lè Jezi desann soti nan kannòt la, li wè tout foul moun yo. Kè l’ fè l’ mal pou yo, li pran geri moun malad yo.
15 Lè solèy fin kouche, disip Jezi yo pwoche bò kote l’, yo di l’ konsa: Li fin ta wi. Pa gen moun ki rete bò isit la. Voye moun yo ale pou yo ka achte manje nan bouk yo.
16 Jezi reponn yo: Yo pa bezwen ale. Ba yo manje nou menm.
17 Men yo di li: Se senk pen ak de pwason ase nou gen la a.
18 Jezi di yo: Pote yo ban mwen.
19 Apre sa, li bay lòd fè moun yo chita sou zèb la. Li pran senk pen yo ak de pwason yo, li leve je l’ nan syèl la, li di Bondye mèsi. Li kase pen yo, li bay disip yo. Disip yo menm mache bay tout moun.
20 Tout moun manje vant plen. Apre sa, disip yo plen douz panyen ak ti moso ki te rete, yo pote ale.
21 Te gen senkmil (5,000) gason konsa ki te jwenn manje pou yo manje, san konte fanm ak timoun.
22 Touswit apre sa, Jezi fè disip li yo moute nan kannòt la, li voye yo devan lòt bò lanmè a. Li menm, li te rete dèyè pou l’ te voye moun yo ale.
23 Lè li fin voye yo ale, li moute pou kont li sou yon ti mòn pou l’ lapriyè. Solèy te fin kouche, li te la toujou pou kont li.
24 Kannòt la menm te gen tan yon bon distans sou lanmè a. Men, lanm yo t’ap bat li, paske van an te kontrè pou yo.
25 Douvan jou, Jezi pran mache sou dlo a pou li al jwenn yo.
26 Lè disip yo wè l’ ap mache sou dlo a, yo te pè anpil, yo t’ap di: Se yon revenan. Yo pran rele tèlman yo te pè.
27 Menm lè a, Jezi di yo: Pran tèt nou. Se mwen menm. Nou pa bezwen pè.
28 Lè sa a, Pyè di li: Mèt, si se ou menm vre, di m’ vin jwenn ou sou dlo a.
29 Jezi di li: Vini non. Pyè soti nan kannòt la, li kòmanse mache sou dlo a pou li al jwenn Jezi.
30 Men, lè Pyè wè jan van an te fò, li pè. Lè sa a, li kòmanse koule, li pran rele: Mèt, sove m’ non!
31 Menm lè a, Jezi lonje men l’, li pran Pyè, li di li: Gade jan ou manke konfyans. Poukisa ou pa te fin kenbe konfyans ou nèt?
32 Yo tou de moute nan kannòt la, lamenm van an kase.
33 Lè sa a, moun ki te nan kannòt la vin mete ajenou devan Jezi, yo di: Ou se pitit Bondye a vre.
34 Lè yo fin janbe lòt bò lanmè a, yo fè tè nan peyi Jenezarèt.
35 Moun peyi a rekonèt Jezi, yo voye nouvèl la nan tout rejyon an. Yo mennen tout malad yo ba li.
36 Yo di Jezi: Tanpri souple, kite malad yo manyen bò rad ou ase. Tout moun malad ki te manyen rad li te geri.

1 En ce temps-là, Hérode le tétrarque, ayant entendu parler de Jésus, dit à ses serviteurs: C’est Jean Baptiste!
2 Il est ressuscité des morts, et c’est pour cela qu’il se fait par lui des miracles.
3 Car Hérode, qui avait fait arrêter Jean, l’avait lié et mis en prison, à cause d’Hérodias, femme de Philippe, son frère,
4 parce que Jean lui disait: Il ne t’est pas permis de l’avoir pour femme.
5 Il voulait le faire mourir, mais il craignait la foule, parce qu’elle regardait Jean comme un prophète.
6 Or, lorsqu’on célébra l’anniversaire de la naissance d’Hérode, la fille d’Hérodias dansa au milieu des convives, et plut à Hérode,
7 de sorte qu’il promit avec serment de lui donner ce qu’elle demanderait.
8 A l’instigation de sa mère, elle dit: Donne-moi ici, sur un plat, la tête de Jean Baptiste.
9 Le roi fut attristé; mais, à cause de ses serments et des convives, il commanda qu’on la lui donne,
10 et il envoya décapiter Jean dans la prison.
11 Sa tête fut apportée sur un plat, et donnée à la jeune fille, qui la porta à sa mère.
12 Les disciples de Jean vinrent prendre son corps, et l’ensevelirent. Et ils allèrent l’annoncer à Jésus.
13 A cette nouvelle, Jésus partit de là dans une barque, pour se retirer à l’écart dans un lieu désert; et la foule, l’ayant su, sortit des villes et le suivit à pied.
14 Quand il sortit de la barque, il vit une grande foule, et fut ému de compassion pour elle, et il guérit les malades.
15 Le soir étant venu, les disciples s’approchèrent de lui, et dirent: Ce lieu est désert, et l’heure est déjà avancée; renvoie la foule, afin qu’elle aille dans les villages, pour s’acheter des vivres.
16 Jésus leur répondit: Ils n’ont pas besoin de s’en aller; donnez-leur vous-mêmes à manger.
17 Mais ils lui dirent: Nous n’avons ici que cinq pains et deux poissons.
18 Et il dit: Apportez-les-moi.
19 Il fit asseoir la foule sur l’herbe, prit les cinq pains et les deux poissons, et, levant les yeux vers le ciel, il rendit grâces. Puis, il rompit les pains et les donna aux disciples, qui les distribuèrent à la foule.
20 Tous mangèrent et furent rassasiés, et l’on emporta douze paniers pleins des morceaux qui restaient.
21 Ceux qui avaient mangé étaient environ cinq mille hommes, sans les femmes et les enfants.
22 Aussitôt après, il obligea les disciples à monter dans la barque et à passer avant lui de l’autre côté, pendant qu’il renverrait la foule.
23 Quand il l’eut renvoyée, il monta sur la montagne, pour prier à l’écart; et, comme le soir était venu, il était là seul.
24 La barque, déjà au milieu de la mer, était battue par les flots; car le vent était contraire.
25 A la quatrième veille de la nuit, Jésus alla vers eux, marchant sur la mer.
26 Quand les disciples le virent marcher sur la mer, ils furent troublés, et dirent: C’est un fantôme! Et, dans leur frayeur, ils poussèrent des cris.
27 Jésus leur dit aussitôt: Rassurez-vous, c’est moi; n’ayez pas peur!
28 Pierre lui répondit: Seigneur, si c’est toi, ordonne que j’aille vers toi sur les eaux.
29 Et il dit: Viens! Pierre sortit de la barque, et marcha sur les eaux, pour aller vers Jésus.
30 Mais, voyant que le vent était fort, il eut peur; et, comme il commençait à enfoncer, il s’écria: Seigneur, sauve-moi!
31 Aussitôt Jésus étendit la main, le saisit, et lui dit: Homme de peu de foi, pourquoi as-tu douté?
32 Et ils montèrent dans la barque, et le vent cessa.
33 Ceux qui étaient dans la barque vinrent se prosterner devant Jésus, et dirent: Tu es véritablement le Fils de Dieu.
34 Après avoir traversé la mer, ils vinrent dans le pays de Génésareth.
35 Les gens de ce lieu, ayant reconnu Jésus, envoyèrent des messagers dans tous les environs, et on lui amena tous les malades.
36 Ils le prièrent de leur permettre seulement de toucher le bord de son vêtement. Et tous ceux qui le touchèrent furent guéris.

1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.
4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
6 But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.
8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger.
9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.
10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18 He said, Bring them hither to me.
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
