Jeremi 5
1 Mache toupatou nan lavil Jerizalèm. Louvri je nou! Gade sa k’ap fèt! Chache sou tout plas piblik yo! Eske nou jwenn yon nonm, yon sèl k’ap fè sa ki dwat, ki p’ap chache twonpe Bondye? Si nou jwenn yonn, m’ap padonnen tout lavil la.
2 Yo te mèt pran non m’ pou fè sèman, se pou twonpe moun.
3 Seyè, mwen konnen se moun ki p’ap twonpe ou w’ap chache! Ou frape yo, sa pa fè yo anyen. Ou kraze yo, yo derefize aprann. Tèt yo di kou wòch. Yo derefize tounen vin jwenn ou!
4 Mwen di nan kè m’: Se yon bann tèt mare ki pa konprann anyen, yo fin fou! Yo pa konnen ni sa Seyè a mande yo fè, ni sa Bondye yo a vle yo fè.
5 Mwen pral jwenn grannèg yo, m’a pale ak yo. Sèten, yo menm yo konnen ni sa Seyè a mande yo fè, ni sa Bondye yo a vle yo fè. Men, pa gen yonn ladan yo ki rekonèt otorite Bondye ankò. Yo tout ap fè sa yo pito.
6 Se poutèt sa lyon ki nan rakbwa ap devore yo. Chen mawon ki nan savann ap dechèpiye yo. Leyopa ap anvayi lavil yo. Si yon moun mete tèt deyò, y’ap depatcha li. Paske yo fè anpil peche. Se tout tan y’ap twonpe Bondye!
7 Nan kondisyon sa a, ki jan pou m’ ta padonnen moun lavil Jerizalèm yo? Yo vire do ban mwen. Y’ap pran non yon bondye ki pa Bondye tout bon pou fè sèman. Mwen te ba yo tou sa yo bezwen. Men, yo lage kò yo nan fè adiltè. Y’ap goumen konsa pou yo antre kay jennès.
8 Yo tankou poulen chwal byen gra ki cho dèyè jiman. Y’ap plede kouri dèyè madanm frè parèy yo.
9 Atò, pou m’ pa ta pini yo pou sa? Pou m’ pa ta pran revanj mwen sou yon nasyon konsa? Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa
10 Se pou moun eskalade miray yo. Se pou moun devaste jaden yo. Men, yo pa bezwen fini nèt ak yo. Se pou yo rache branch yo met atè, paske se pa pou mwen yo ye.
11 Ni moun Izrayèl yo, ni moun Jida yo trayi m’ nèt. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
12 Wi, yo nye Seyè a. Y’ap plede di: Seyè a pa egziste! Pa gen malè ki pou rive nou. P’ap gen lagè. P’ap kras gen grangou!
13 Pwofèt yo p’ap di anyen la a. Se pa Bondye k’ap pale nan bouch yo. Malè yo wè a, se sou yo pou l’ tonbe.
14 Se poutèt sa, men sa Seyè a, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, di m’: -Jeremi, poutèt sa yo di a, m’ap fè pawòl mwen mete nan bouch ou tounen yon dife. Yo menm, y’ap tankou fachin. Dife a pral boule yo nèt.
15 Men sa Seyè a di ankò: -Nou menm, pèp Izrayèl, Seyè a pral fè yon nasyon soti byen lwen vin atake nou, yon nasyon ki fò, yon nasyon ki la depi lontan, yon nasyon ki pale yon lang nou pa konnen, yon nasyon nou p’ap konprann sa y’ap di.
16 Sòlda k’ap tire flèch yo se vanyan gason yo ye, y’ap touye moun san gad dèyè.
17 Y’ap devore tout rekòt ak tout manje nou yo. Y’ap touye ni pitit gason, ni pitit fi nou yo. Y’ap koupe tèt bèf, tèt kabrit ak tèt mouton nou yo. Y’ap koupe dènye pye rezen ak dènye pye fig frans nou yo met atè. Y’ap kraze dènye lavil ak ranpa nou te kwè ki ta ka pwoteje nou yo. Y’ap vini atake nou ak nepe.
18 Men sa Seyè a di ankò: -Men, menm lè sa a, mwen p’ap detwi pèp mwen an nèt.
19 Lè y’a mande poukisa Seyè a, Bondye yo a, ap fè yo sibi tou sa, w’a di yo: Menm jan yo te vire do ban mwen pou y’ al sèvi bondye moun lòt nasyon yo isit nan pwòp peyi yo a, konsa tou, nou pral sèvi moun lòt nasyon yo nan yon peyi ki pa pou nou.
20 Seyè a di ankò: -Men sa pou ou di moun fanmi Jakòb yo. Men sa pou ou fè moun Jida yo konnen. Di yo konsa:
21 Louvri zòrèy nou byen pou nou tande, bann egare san konprann! Nou gen je, men nou pa ka wè. Nou gen zòrèy, men nou pa ka tande.
22 Se Seyè a k’ap pale ak nou: Poukisa nou pa gen krentif pou mwen? Se mwen menm ki mete sab pou sèvi limit pou lanmè a, yon limit k’ap la pou tout tan, yon limit li p’ap ka janm depase. Lanm lanmè yo mèt move, yo p’ap ka fè anyen. Lanmè a te mèt gwonde, li p’ap ka janm depase l’.
23 Men pèp la gen tèt di, yo pa vle koute. Yo vire do ban mwen, y’ al kite m’.
24 Sa pa janm vin nan lide yo pou yo di: Annou gen krentif pou Seyè a, Bondye nou an, li menm ki voye lapli lè pou n’ gen lapli, ki ban nou sezon rekòt nou chak lanne.
25 Se mechanste nou ki boulvèse tout bagay sa yo. Se peche nou yo ki fè nou pa jwenn tout bon bagay sa yo.
26 Gen yon bann mechan k’ap viv nan mitan pèp mwen an. Y’ap veye konsa tankou moun k’ap tann kabann pou zwezo. Yo mete pèlen pou pran moun.
27 Menm jan chasè yo plen kalòj yo ak zwezo, konsa tou, yo plen kay yo ak sa yo vòlò. Se sa ki fè yo grannèg, yo rich konsa.
28 Yo gra, po figi yo klere ak grès. Yo pa gen limit nan fè sa ki mal. Pou yo ka rive, yo kraze tout moun anba pye yo, ata timoun san papa. Yo pa defann kòz malere.
29 Atò, pou m’ pa ta pini yo pou sa? Pou m’ pa ta pran revanj mwen sou yon nasyon konsa? Se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki di sa.
30 Sa k’ap pase nan peyi a, se bagay pou moun mete men nan tèt, bagay pou fè moun pè.
31 Annik manti ase pwofèt yo ap bay. Prèt yo menm, se pòch yo ase yo konnen. Pèp la menm renmen l’ konsa. Men, kisa y’a fè lè tou sa va fini?

Jérémie 5
1 Parcourez les rues de Jérusalem, Regardez, informez-vous, cherchez dans les places, S’il s’y trouve un homme, s’il y en a un Qui pratique la justice, qui s’attache à la vérité, Et je pardonne à Jérusalem.
2 Même quand ils disent: L’Éternel est vivant! C’est faussement qu’ils jurent.
3 Éternel, tes yeux n’aperçoivent-ils pas la vérité? Tu les frappes, et ils ne sentent rien; Tu les consumes, et ils ne veulent pas recevoir instruction; Ils prennent un visage plus dur que le roc, Ils refusent de se convertir.
4 Je disais: Ce ne sont que les petits; Ils agissent en insensés, parce qu’ils ne connaissent pas la voie de l’Éternel, La loi de leur Dieu.
5 J’irai vers les grands, et je leur parlerai; Car eux, ils connaissent la voie de l’Éternel, La loi de leur Dieu; Mais ils ont tous aussi brisé le joug, Rompu les liens.
6 C’est pourquoi le lion de la forêt les tue, Le loup du désert les détruit, La panthère est aux aguets devant leurs villes; Tous ceux qui en sortiront seront déchirés; Car leurs transgressions sont nombreuses, Leurs infidélités se sont multipliées.
7 Pourquoi te pardonnerais-je? Tes enfants m’ont abandonné, Et ils jurent par des dieux qui n’existent pas. J’ai reçu leurs serments, et ils se livrent à l’adultère, Ils sont en foule dans la maison de la prostituée.
8 Semblables à des chevaux bien nourris, qui courent çà et là, Ils hennissent chacun après la femme de son prochain.
9 Ne châtierais-je pas ces choses-là, dit l’Éternel, Ne me vengerais-je pas d’une pareille nation?
10 Montez sur ses murailles, et abattez, Mais ne détruisez pas entièrement! Enlevez ses ceps Qui n’appartiennent point à l’Éternel!
11 Car la maison d’Israël et la maison de Juda m’ont été infidèles, Dit l’Éternel.
12 Ils renient l’Éternel, ils disent: Il n’existe pas! Et le malheur ne viendra pas sur nous, Nous ne verrons ni l’épée ni la famine.
13 Les prophètes ne sont que du vent, Et personne ne parle en eux. Qu’il leur soit fait ainsi!
14 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel, le Dieu des armées: Parce que vous avez dit cela, Voici, je veux que ma parole dans ta bouche soit du feu, Et ce peuple du bois, et que ce feu les consume.
15 Voici, je fais venir de loin une nation contre vous, maison d’Israël, Dit l’Éternel; C’est une nation forte, c’est une nation ancienne, Une nation dont tu ne connais pas la langue, Et dont tu ne comprendras point les paroles.
16 Son carquois est comme un sépulcre ouvert; Ils sont tous des héros.
17 Elle dévorera ta moisson et ton pain, Elle dévorera tes fils et tes filles, Elle dévorera tes brebis et tes boeufs, Elle dévorera ta vigne et ton figuier; Elle détruira par l’épée tes villes fortes dans lesquelles tu te confies.
18 Mais en ces jours, dit l’Éternel, Je ne vous détruirai pas entièrement.
19 Si vous dites alors: Pourquoi l’Éternel, notre Dieu, nous fait-il tout cela? Tu leur répondras: Comme vous m’avez abandonné, Et que vous avez servi des dieux étrangers dans votre pays, Ainsi vous servirez des étrangers dans un pays qui n’est pas le vôtre.
20 Annoncez ceci à la maison de Jacob, Publiez-le en Juda, et dites:
21 Écoutez ceci, peuple insensé, et qui n’a point de coeur! Ils ont des yeux et ne voient point, Ils ont des oreilles et n’entendent point.
22 Ne me craindrez-vous pas, dit l’Éternel, Ne tremblerez-vous pas devant moi? C’est moi qui ai donné à la mer le sable pour limite, Limite éternelle qu’elle ne doit pas franchir; Ses flots s’agitent, mais ils sont impuissants; Ils mugissent, mais ils ne la franchissent pas.
23 Ce peuple a un coeur indocile et rebelle; Ils se révoltent, et s’en vont.
24 Ils ne disent pas dans leur coeur: Craignons l’Éternel, notre Dieu, Qui donne la pluie en son temps, La pluie de la première et de l’arrière saison, Et qui nous réserve les semaines destinées à la moisson.
25 C’est à cause de vos iniquités que ces dispensations n’ont pas lieu, Ce sont vos péchés qui vous privent de ces biens.
26 Car il se trouve parmi mon peuple des méchants; Ils épient comme l’oiseleur qui dresse des pièges, Ils tendent des filets, et prennent des hommes.
27 Comme une cage est remplie d’oiseaux, Leurs maisons sont remplies de fraude; C’est ainsi qu’ils deviennent puissants et riches.
28 Ils s’engraissent, ils sont brillants d’embonpoint; Ils dépassent toute mesure dans le mal, Ils ne défendent pas la cause, la cause de l’orphelin, et ils prospèrent; Ils ne font pas droit aux indigents.
29 Ne châtierais-je pas ces choses-là, dit l’Éternel, Ne me vengerais-je pas d’une pareille nation?
30 Des choses horribles, abominables, Se font dans le pays.
31 Les prophètes prophétisent avec fausseté, Les sacrificateurs dominent sous leur conduite, Et mon peuple prend plaisir à cela. Que ferez-vous à la fin?

Jeremiah 5
1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
2 And though they say, The Lord liveth; surely they swear falsely.
3 O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the Lord, nor the judgment of their God.
5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the Lord, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
7 How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.
8 They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife.
9 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10 Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the Lord‘s.
11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the Lord.
12 They have belied the Lord, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
13 And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.
14 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the Lord: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
16 Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.
17 And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
18 Nevertheless in those days, saith the Lord, I will not make a full end with you.
19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the Lord our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your’s.
20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
22 Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.
26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
28 They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
29 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
