2 Men non pitit Arawon yo: se te Nadab, pi gran an. Apre li vin Abiyou, Eleaza ak Itama.
3 Se yo menm Bondye te chwazi, li te ba yo pouvwa pou yo te sèvi l’ prèt.
4 Men, Nabad ak Abiyou te mouri nan dezè Sinayi a, lè yo te ofri bay Seyè a yon dife yo pa t’ gen dwa ofri ba li. Yo pa te gen pitit. Konsa, se Eleaza ak Itama ki te sèvi prèt ansanm ak Arawon, papa yo.
5 Seyè a pale ak Moyiz, li di l’ konsa:
6 -Fè moun fanmi Levi yo pwoche. Mete yo ansanm ak Arawon, prèt la, pou yo ka ede l’ nan travay l’ap fè a.
7 Y’a travay nan kay Bondye a, y’a fè tout kalite sèvis ki gen pou fèt pou Arawon ak pou pèp la devan Tant Randevou a.
8 Yo va reskonsab tout bagay ki anndan Tant Randevou a. Y’a fè tout travay moun Izrayèl yo ta gen pou yo fè nan Tant Randevou a.
9 W’a mete yo sou kont Arawon ak pitit gason l’ yo. Wi, nan tout moun pèp Izrayèl yo, w’a pran moun fanmi Levi yo, w’a mete yo sou kont prèt yo pou toutan.
10 Men, w’a bay Arawon ak pitit gason l’ yo reskonsablite tout travay prèt yo. Si yon lòt moun ki pa prèt ta konprann pou li fè travay prèt yo, se pou yo touye l’.
11 Seyè a pale ak Moyiz, li di l’ ankò:
12 -Gade non! Nan tout moun pèp Izrayèl yo, mwen chwazi moun fanmi Levi yo. Mwen pran yo nan plas premye pitit gason moun pèp Izrayèl yo. Se pou mwen yo ye.
13 Paske, tout premye pitit gason yo se pou mwen yo ye. Depi jou mwen te touye tout premye pitit gason moun peyi Lejip yo, mwen te mete tout premye pitit gason moun pèp Izrayèl yo apa pou mwen, ansanm ak tout premye ti mal bèt yo fè. Se pou mwen menm yo tout ye. Se mwen menm ki Seyè a.
14 Seyè a pale ak Moyiz nan dezè Sinayi a, li di l’ konsa:
15 -Ou pral fè resansman tout moun Levi yo, dapre fanmi yo, dapre branch fanmi zansèt yo. W’a konte tout gason depi sa ki gen yon mwa depi yo fèt jouk sa ki pi gran yo.
16 Moyiz fè resansman an dapre lòd Seyè a te ba l’ a. Li konte yo jan Seyè a te di l’ fè l’ la.
17 Men non twa pitit gason Levi yo: Se te Gèchon, Keyat ak Merari.
18 Men non pitit Gèchon yo ak tout fanmi yo: Se te Libni ak Chimèyi.
19 Men non pitit Keyat yo ak tout fanmi yo: Se te Amram, Jizeya, Ebwon ak Ouzyèl.
20 Men non pitit gason Merari yo ak tout fanmi yo: Se te Makli ak Mouchi. Men non fanmi moun Levi yo, dapre non zansèt yo.
21 Te gen de fanmi nan branch Gèchon an: Se te pitit Libni yo ak pitit Chimeyi yo. Se tout fanmi Gèchon yo sa.
22 Lè yo konte gason yo, depi sa ki te gen yon mwa depi yo fèt jouk sa ki pi gran yo, yo jwenn sètmil senksan (7.500) gason.
23 Fanmi sa yo te rete dèyè kay Bondye a, sou bò solèy kouche.
24 Se Elyasaf, pitit gason Layèl la, ki te chèf fanmi Gèchon yo.
25 Se yo ki te reskonsab kay Bondye a, ak de tant ki kouvri l’ yo, rido ki nan pòt devan Tant Randevou a,
26 rido pou galeri ki fè wonn Tant Randevou a ak lotèl la, rido ki nan pòt devan galeri a ak tout kòd yo bezwen pou sèvi nan kay Bondye a.
27 Te gen kat fanmi nan branch Keyat la: Se te pitit Amram yo, pitit Jizeya yo, pitit Ebwon yo ak pitit Ouzyèl yo. Se tout fanmi Keyat yo sa.
28 Lè yo konte tout gason yo, depi sa ki gen yon mwa depi yo fèt jouk sa ki pi gran yo, yo jwenn witmil sisan (8.600) gason. Se yo ki te reskonsab kote ki apa nèt pou Seyè a nan kay Bondye a.
29 Fanmi sa yo te moute kan yo sou bò sid kay Bondye a.
30 Se Elizafan, pitit gason Ouzyèl la, ki te chèf fanmi Keyat yo.
31 Se yo ki te reskonsab Bwat Kontra a, tab la, gwo lanp sèt branch lan, lotèl yo ak tout bagay ki sèvi nan kote ki apa nèt pou Bondye a, rido yo ansanm ak tout bagay ki mache avèk rido yo.
32 Se Eleaza, pitit gason Arawon, prèt la, ki te chèf tout chèf fanmi Levi yo. Se li ki te kontwole travay moun ki te reskonsab kote ki apa nèt pou Seyè a.
33 Te gen de fanmi nan branch fanmi Merari a: se te pitit Makli yo ak pitit Mouchi yo. Se tout fanmi Merari yo sa.
34 Lè yo konte tout gason yo, depi sa ki gen yon mwa depi yo fèt jouk sa ki pi gran yo, yo jwenn simil desan (6.200) gason.
35 Se Zouryèl, pitit gason Abikayil la, ki te chèf fanmi Merari yo. Yo te moute kan yo sou bò nò kay Bondye a.
36 Se yo ki te reskonsab ankadreman pou soutni kay Bondye a, travès yo, poto yo, sipò yo ak tout rido yo ansanm ak tout bagay ki sèvi ak yo.
37 Yo te reskonsab poto, sipò, pikèt ak kòd pou soutni galeri yo tou.
38 Moyiz, Arawon ak pitit gason l’ yo te moute kay pa yo devan Tant Randevou a, sou bò lès. Se yo ki te reskonsab pou fè sèvis nan kote ki apa nèt pou Bondye a pou pèp Izrayèl la. Tout lòt moun ki ta konprann pou yo fè travay prèt yo, se pou yo touye yo.
39 Lè Moyiz ak Arawon te fè resansman moun fanmi Levi yo, chak fanmi apa, dapre lòd Seyè a te bay yo a, yo jwenn antou venndemil (22.000) gason, depi sa ki te gen yon mwa depi yo te fèt jouk sa ki pi gran yo.
40 Seyè a di Moyiz konsa: -Pran non tout premye pitit gason moun pèp Izrayèl yo, depi sa ki gen yon mwa depi yo fèt jouk sa ki pi gran yo. W’a konte konbe ki genyen.
41 Se mwen menm ki Seyè a. W’a pran moun fanmi Levi yo, w’a mete yo apa pou mwen nan plas tout premye pitit gason moun pèp Izrayèl yo. Konsa tou, w’a pran tout bèt ki pou moun fanmi Levi yo, w’a mete yo apa pou mwen nan plas premye ti mal bèt moun Izrayèl yo va fè.
42 Moyiz pran non tout premye pitit gason moun pèp Izrayèl yo, dapre lòd Seyè a te ba l’ a.
43 Li konte tout premye pitit gason yo, depi sa ki te gen yon mwa jouk sa ki pi gran yo. Li jwenn venndemil desanswasanntrèz (22.273).
44 Apre sa, Seyè a pale ak Moyiz, li di l’ konsa:
45 -Pran moun fanmi Levi yo, mete yo apa pou mwen nan plas premye pitit gason moun pèp Izrayèl yo. Epi w’a mete bèt moun Levi yo apa pou mwen tou nan plas premye ti mal bèt moun pèp Izrayèl yo va fè. Konsa, tout moun Levi yo va pou mwen. Se mwen menm ki Seyè a.
46 Ou te jwenn te gen plis premye pitit gason nan pèp Izrayèl la pase te gen moun Levi. Te gen desanswasanntrèz (273) an plis. Men sa pou yo peye pou sove lavi desansousanntrèz premye pitit gason sa yo.
47 Pou yo chak, y’a bay senk pyès ajan, dapre sistèm lajan yo sèvi nan kay Bondye a: vin gara pou yon pyès ajan.
48 W’a pran lajan yo peye pou sove lavi sa ki an plis yo, w’a bay Arawon ak pitit gason l’ yo.
49 Se konsa, Moyiz pran lajan yo te peye pou sove lavi premye pitit gason ki te an plis sou kantite moun Levi yo.
50 Li pran mil twasanswasannsenk (1.365) pyès lajan nan men premye pitit moun Izrayèl yo, dapre sistèm lajan yo sèvi nan kote ki apa pou Bondye a.
51 Apre sa, Moyiz pran tout lajan yo te peye pou sove lavi rès premye pitit gason yo, dapre lòd Seyè a te bay la, li bay Arawon ak pitit gason l’ yo, jan Seyè a te ba li lòd la.

1 Voici la postérité d’Aaron et de Moïse, au temps où l’Éternel parla à Moïse, sur la montagne de Sinaï.
2 Voici les noms des fils d’Aaron: Nadab, le premier-né, Abihu, Éléazar et Ithamar.
3 Ce sont là les noms des fils d’Aaron, qui reçurent l’onction comme sacrificateurs, et qui furent consacrés pour l’exercice du sacerdoce.
4 Nadab et Abihu moururent devant l’Éternel, lorsqu’ils apportèrent devant l’Éternel du feu étranger, dans le désert de Sinaï; ils n’avaient point de fils. Éléazar et Ithamar exercèrent le sacerdoce, en présence d’Aaron, leur père.
5 L’Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
6 Fais approcher la tribu de Lévi, et tu la placeras devant le sacrificateur Aaron, pour qu’elle soit à son service.
7 Ils auront le soin de ce qui est remis à sa garde et à la garde de toute l’assemblée, devant la tente d’assignation: ils feront le service du tabernacle.
8 Ils auront le soin de tous les ustensiles de la tente d’assignation, et de ce qui est remis à la garde des enfants d’Israël: ils feront le service du tabernacle.
9 Tu donneras les Lévites à Aaron et à ses fils; ils lui seront entièrement donnés, de la part des enfants d’Israël.
10 Tu établiras Aaron et ses fils pour qu’ils observent les fonctions de leur sacerdoce; et l’étranger qui approchera sera puni de mort.
11 L’Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
12 Voici, j’ai pris les Lévites du milieu des enfants d’Israël, à la place de tous les premiers-nés, des premiers-nés des enfants d’Israël; et les Lévites m’appartiendront.
13 Car tout premier-né m’appartient; le jour où j’ai frappé tous les premiers-nés dans le pays d’Égypte, je me suis consacré tous les premiers-nés en Israël, tant des hommes que des animaux: ils m’appartiendront. Je suis l’Éternel.
14 L’Éternel parla à Moïse, dans le désert de Sinaï, et dit:
15 Fais le dénombrement des enfants de Lévi, selon les maisons de leurs pères, selon leurs familles; tu feras le dénombrement de tous les mâles, depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus.
16 Moïse en fit le dénombrement sur l’ordre de l’Éternel, en se conformant à l’ordre qui lui fut donné.
17 Ce sont ici les fils de Lévi, d’après leurs noms: Guerschon, Kehath et Merari. –
18 Voici les noms des fils de Guerschon, selon leurs familles: Libni et Schimeï.
19 Voici les fils de Kehath, selon leurs familles: Amram, Jitsehar, Hébron et Uziel;
20 et les fils de Merari, selon leurs familles: Machli et Muschi. Ce sont là les familles de Lévi, selon les maisons de leurs pères.
21 De Guerschon descendent la famille de Libni et la famille de Schimeï, formant les familles des Guerschonites.
22 Ceux dont on fit le dénombrement, en comptant tous les mâles depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus, furent sept mille cinq cents.
23 Les familles des Guerschonites campaient derrière le tabernacle à l’occident.
24 Le chef de la maison paternelle des Guerschonites était Éliasaph, fils de Laël.
25 Pour ce qui concerne la tente d’assignation, on remit aux soins des fils de Guerschon le tabernacle et la tente, la couverture, le rideau qui est à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation;
26 les toiles du parvis et le rideau de l’entrée du parvis, tout autour du tabernacle et de l’autel, et tous les cordages pour le service du tabernacle.
27 De Kehath descendent la famille des Amramites, la famille des Jitseharites, la famille des Hébronites et la famille des Uziélites, formant les familles des Kehathites.
28 En comptant tous les mâles depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus, il y en eut huit mille six cents, qui furent chargés des soins du sanctuaire.
29 Les familles des fils de Kehath campaient au côté méridional du tabernacle.
30 Le chef de la maison paternelle des familles des Kehathites était Élitsaphan, fils d’Uziel.
31 On remit à leurs soins l’arche, la table, le chandelier, les autels, les ustensiles du sanctuaire, avec lesquels on fait le service, le voile et tout ce qui en dépend.
32 Le chef des chefs des Lévites était Éléazar, fils du sacrificateur Aaron; il avait la surveillance de ceux qui étaient chargés des soins du sanctuaire.
33 De Merari descendent la famille de Machli et la famille de Muschi, formant les familles des Merarites.
34 Ceux dont on fit le dénombrement, en comptant tous les mâles depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus, furent six mille deux cents.
35 Le chef de la maison paternelle des familles de Merari était Tsuriel, fils d’Abihaïl. Ils campaient du côté septentrional du tabernacle.
36 On remit à la garde et aux soins des fils de Merari les planches du tabernacle, ses barres, ses colonnes et leurs bases, tous ses ustensiles et tout ce qui en dépend;
37 les colonnes du parvis tout autour, leurs bases, leurs pieux et leurs cordages.
38 Moïse, Aaron et ses fils campaient devant le tabernacle, à l’orient, devant la tente d’assignation, au levant; ils avaient la garde et le soin du sanctuaire, remis à la garde des enfants d’Israël; et l’étranger qui s’approchera sera puni de mort.
39 Tous les Lévites dont Moïse et Aaron firent le dénombrement sur l’ordre de l’Éternel, selon leurs familles, tous les mâles depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus, furent vingt-deux mille.
40 L’Éternel dit à Moïse: Fais le dénombrement de tous les premiers-nés mâles parmi les enfants d’Israël, depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus, et compte les d’après leurs noms.
41 Tu prendras les Lévites pour moi, l’Éternel, à la place de tous les premiers-nés des enfants d’Israël, et le bétail des Lévites à la place de tous les premiers-nés du bétail des enfants d’Israël.
42 Moïse fit le dénombrement de tous les premiers-nés parmi les enfants d’Israël, selon l’ordre que l’Éternel lui avait donné.
43 Tous les premiers-nés, dont on fit le dénombrement, en comptant les noms, depuis l’âge d’un mois et au-dessus, furent vingt-deux mille deux cent soixante-treize.
44 L’Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
45 Prends les Lévites à la place de tous les premiers-nés des enfants d’Israël, et le bétail des Lévites à la place de leur bétail; et les Lévites m’appartiendront. Je suis l’Éternel.
46 Pour le rachat des deux cent soixante-treize qui dépassent le nombre des Lévites, parmi les premiers-nés des enfants d’Israël,
47 tu prendras cinq sicles par tête; tu les prendras selon le sicle du sanctuaire, qui est de vingt guéras.
48 Tu donneras l’argent à Aaron et à ses fils, pour le rachat de ceux qui dépassent le nombre des Lévites.
49 Moïse prit l’argent pour le rachat de ceux qui dépassaient le nombre des rachetés par les Lévites;
50 il prit l’argent des premiers-nés des enfants d’Israël: mille trois cent soixante-cinq sicles, selon le sicle du sanctuaire.
51 Et Moïse donna l’argent du rachat à Aaron et à ses fils, sur l’ordre de l’Éternel, en se conformant à l’ordre que l’Éternel avait donné à Moïse.

1 These also are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the Lord spake with Moses in mount Sinai.
2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.
4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.
5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;
13 Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the Lord.
14 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,
15 Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.
16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded.
17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.
18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei.
19 And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
20 And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.
21 Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.
22 Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.
23 The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.
24 And the chief of the house of the father of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.
25 And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
26 And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.
27 And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.
28 In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.
29 The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.
30 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
31 And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof.
32 And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.
33 Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.
34 And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.
35 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.
36 And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto,
37 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
38 But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
39 All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the Lord, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.
40 And the Lord said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the Lord) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.
42 And Moses numbered, as the Lord commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
43 And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.
44 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
45 Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.
46 And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;
47 Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them: (the shekel is twenty gerahs:)
48 And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.
49 And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:
50 Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:
51 And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.
