1 Agripa di Pòl: Ou mèt pale pou defann tèt ou. Lè sa a, Pòl lonje men l’, epi li fè defans li konsa:
2 Se pa ti kontan mwen kontan, wa Agripa, pou m’ defann tèt mwen devan ou jòdi a anba tout bagay jwif yo ap plede akize mwen.
3 Ou menm ou konnen tout koutim jwif yo ansanm ak kalite keksyon yo renmen diskite yo byen. Tanpri souple, pran yon ti pasyans pou koute mwen.
4 Tout jwif yo konnen ki jan m’ mennen tèt mwen depi lè m’ te jenn gason, ki jan m’ t’ap viv depi nan konmansman nan mitan moun peyi mwen yo ak nan Jerizalèm.
5 Yo konnen m’ depi lontan. Epi, si yo vle, yo ka rann temwayaj mwen t’ap viv tankou yon farizyen. Farizyen yo se moun ki pi rèd nan relijyon nou an.
6 Koulye a, yo rele m’ an jijman paske m’ap tann pwomès Bondye te fè zansèt nou yo.
7 Se menm pwomès sa a douz branch fanmi nou yo ap tann lè y’ap sèvi Bondye san rete, lajounen kou lannwit. Se pou menm pwomès sa a jwif yo ap akize mwen, monwa.
8 Poukisa, nou menm jwif, nou pa kwè Bondye ka leve moun mouri?
9 Mwen menm tou, yon lè, mwen te kwè se pou m’ te fè sa m’ kapab pou disparèt non Jezi, moun Nazarèt la.
10 Se sa m’ te fè lavil Jerizalèm. Mwen te resevwa yon pouvwa espesyal nan men chèf prèt yo pou sa. Mwen te mete anpil patizan Kris yo nan prizon. Lè yo t’ap kondannen yo amò, mwen te dakò nèt ale.
11 Anpil fwa, mwen te fè bat yo nan tout sinagòg, mwen te konn fòse yo vire do bay Bondye. Mwen te sitèlman pa t’ vle wè yo, mwen te konn al pèsekite yo jouk nan peyi etranje.
12 Se konsa, mwen tapral Damas avèk pouvwa ansanm ak lòd chèf prèt yo te ban mwen.
13 Antan m’ te sou wout la, vè midi konsa, monwa, mwen wè yon limyè ki soti nan syèl la pi klere pase solèy la. Li te klere tout kote m’ te ye a ansanm ak moun ki t’ap vwayaje avè m’ yo.
14 Nou tout nou tonbe atè. Epi mwen tande yon vwa ki di m’ an lang ebre: Sòl, Sòl, poukisa w’ap pèsekite mwen? W’ap fè tèt ou mal lè w’ap voye pye konsa tankou yon chwal k’ap voye pye lè mèt li ap bat li.
15 Mwen mande: Ki moun ou ye, Seyè? Epi l’ di m’: Mwen se Jezi w’ap pèsekite a.
16 Men, leve kanpe sou pye ou. Mwen fè ou wè m’, se pou ou kapab sèvi mwen. Wi, ou pral sèvi m’ temwen, ou pral di lòt moun yo jan ou te wè m’ jòdi a epi wa fè yo konnen tou sa m’a fè ou wè apre sa.
17 M’a delivre ou anba men pèp jwif yo, anba men moun lòt nasyon yo. Se mwen menm k’ap voye ou ba yo,
18 pou ou kapab louvri je yo, pou fè yo soti nan fènwa kote yo ye a vin nan limyè, pou wete yo anba pouvwa Satan vin jwenn Bondye. Konsa, lè y’a mete konfyans yo nan mwen, y’a resevwa padon pou tout peche yo, y’a jwenn plas yo nan mitan pèp k’ap viv apa pou Bondye a.
19 Se konsa, wa Agripa, mwen pa dezobèyi vizyon ki te soti nan syèl la vin jwenn mwen.
20 Mwen kòmanse bay moun nan lavil Damas ak nan Jerizalèm mesaj la. Apre sa, m’ ale nan tout peyi Jide ak nan mitan moun lòt nasyon yo. Mwen t’ap mande yo pou yo chanje lavi yo, pou yo tounen vin jwenn Bondye, pou yo fè bagay ki pou fè wè yo chanje tout bon.
21 Se poutèt sa wi jwif yo mete men sou mwen nan tanp lan, se poutèt sa yo t’ap seye touye mwen.
22 Mentou, Bondye toujou pwoteje m’ jouk jòdi a. Mwen la toujou pou m’ sèvi l’ temwen devan tout moun, grannèg kou malere. Sa ou wè m’ap di la a, se sa menm pwofèt yo ansanm ak Moyiz te di gen pou rive.
23 Kris la te gen pou l’ soufri. Se li menm ki an premye gen pou l’ leve soti vivan nan lanmò pou l’ fè pèp Izrayèl la ansanm ak tout lòt nasyon yo konnen limyè k’ap delivre yo a.
24 Antan Pòl t’ap pale konsa pou defann tèt li, Festis rele byen fò: Ou fou, Pòl! Twòp lespri fè ou pèdi tèt ou.
25 Pòl reponn li: Mwen pa fou non, ekselans. Tout pawòl mwen di la a se verite a tou klè, epi yo gen sans.
26 Wa Agripa konn tout bagay sa yo. Se poutèt sa mwen pa pè pale devan li. Mwen sèten li konnen tout bagay sa yo, paske pa gen okenn ladan yo mwen te fè an kachèt.
27 Wa Agripa, èske ou pa kwè sa pwofèt yo di? Mwen konnen ou kwè.
28 Agripa di Pòl: Talè konsa ou pral pran tèt mwen tou pou fè m’ kretyen?
29 Pòl reponn li: Kit koulye a, kit pita, m’ap lapriyè Bondye ni pou ou ni pou nou tout k’ap koute m’ jòdi a pou yon lè konsa nou vin tankou m’, wetan chenn sa yo!
30 Wa a, gwouvènè a, Berenis ansanm ak tout moun ki te la yo leve.
31 Apre yo fin ale, yonn t’ap di lòt: Nonm sa a pa fè anyen ki merite prizon, ale wè lanmò.
32 Agripa di Festis konsa: Si nonm sa a pa t’ mande pou Seza tande l’, ou ta ka lage l’ wi.

Actes 26
1 Agrippa dit à Paul: Il t’est permis de parler pour ta défense. Et Paul, ayant étendu la main, se justifia en ces termes:
2 Je m’estime heureux, roi Agrippa, d’avoir aujourd’hui à me justifier devant toi de toutes les choses dont je suis accusé par les Juifs,
3 car tu connais parfaitement leurs coutumes et leurs discussions. Je te prie donc de m’écouter avec patience.
4 Ma vie, dès les premiers temps de ma jeunesse, est connue de tous les Juifs, puisqu’elle s’est passée à Jérusalem, au milieu de ma nation.
5 Ils savent depuis longtemps, s’ils veulent le déclarer, que j’ai vécu pharisien, selon la secte la plus rigide de notre religion.
6 Et maintenant, je suis mis en jugement parce que j’espère l’accomplissement de la promesse que Dieu a faite à nos pères,
7 et à laquelle aspirent nos douze tribus, qui servent Dieu continuellement nuit et jour. C’est pour cette espérance, ô roi, que je suis accusé par des Juifs!
8 Quoi! vous semble-t-il incroyable que Dieu ressuscite les morts?
9 Pour moi, j’avais cru devoir agir vigoureusement contre le nom de Jésus de Nazareth.
10 C’est ce que j’ai fait à Jérusalem. J’ai jeté en prison plusieurs des saints, ayant reçu ce pouvoir des principaux sacrificateurs, et, quand on les mettait à mort, je joignais mon suffrage à celui des autres.
11 je les ai souvent châtiés dans toutes les synagogues, et je les forçais à blasphémer. Dans mes excès de fureur contre eux, je les persécutais même jusque dans les villes étrangères.
12 C’est dans ce but que je me rendis à Damas, avec l’autorisation et la permission des principaux sacrificateurs.
13 Vers le milieu du jour, ô roi, je vis en chemin resplendir autour de moi et de mes compagnons une lumière venant du ciel, et dont l’éclat surpassait celui du soleil.
14 Nous tombâmes tous par terre, et j’entendis une voix qui me disait en langue hébraïque: Saul, Saul, pourquoi me persécutes-tu? Il te serait dur de regimber contre les aiguillons.
15 Je répondis: Qui es-tu, Seigneur? Et le Seigneur dit: Je suis Jésus que tu persécutes.
16 Mais lève-toi, et tiens-toi sur tes pieds; car je te suis apparu pour t’établir ministre et témoin des choses que tu as vues et de celles pour lesquelles je t’apparaîtrai.
17 Je t’ai choisi du milieu de ce peuple et du milieu des païens, vers qui je t’envoie,
18 afin que tu leur ouvres les yeux, pour qu’ils passent des ténèbres à la lumière et de la puissance de Satan à Dieu, pour qu’ils reçoivent, par la foi en moi, le pardon des péchés et l’héritage avec les sanctifiés.
19 En conséquence, roi Agrippa, je n’ai point résisté à la vision céleste:
20 à ceux de Damas d’abord, puis à Jérusalem, dans toute la Judée, et chez les païens, j’ai prêché la repentance et la conversion à Dieu, avec la pratique d’oeuvres dignes de la repentance.
21 Voilà pourquoi les Juifs se sont saisis de moi dans le temple, et ont tâché de me faire périr.
22 Mais, grâce au secours de Dieu, j’ai subsisté jusqu’à ce jour, rendant témoignage devant les petits et les grands, sans m’écarter en rien de ce que les prophètes et Moïse ont déclaré devoir arriver,
23 savoir que le Christ souffrirait, et que, ressuscité le premier d’entre les morts, il annoncerait la lumière au peuple et aux nations.
24 Comme il parlait ainsi pour sa justification, Festus dit à haute voix: Tu es fou, Paul! Ton grand savoir te fait déraisonner.
25 Je ne suis point fou, très excellent Festus, répliqua Paul; ce sont, au contraire, des paroles de vérité et de bon sens que je prononce.
26 Le roi est instruit de ces choses, et je lui en parle librement; car je suis persuadé qu’il n’en ignore aucune, puisque ce n’est pas en cachette qu’elles se sont passées.
27 Crois-tu aux prophètes, roi Agrippa?… Je sais que tu y crois.
28 Et Agrippa dit à Paul: Tu vas bientôt me persuader de devenir chrétien!
29 Paul répondit: Que ce soit bientôt ou que ce soit tard, plaise à Dieu que non seulement toi, mais encore tous ceux qui m’écoutent aujourd’hui, vous deveniez tels que je suis, à l’exception de ces liens!
30 Le roi, le gouverneur, Bérénice, et tous ceux qui étaient assis avec eux se levèrent,
31 et, en se retirant, ils se disaient les uns aux autres: Cet homme n’a rien fait qui mérite la mort ou la prison.
32 Et Agrippa dit à Festus: Cet homme pouvait être relâché, s’il n’en eût pas appelé à César.

Acts 26
1 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:
2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
3 Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
4 My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:
7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
9 I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
30 And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:
31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
