2 Nan denmen maten, byen bonè, li tounen nan tanp lan. Tout foul moun yo pwoche bò kote li. Li chita, li pran moutre yo anpil bagay.
3 Dirèktè lalwa yo ak farizyen yo mennen yon fanm ba li. Yo te bare fanm lan nan adiltè. Yo mete l’ kanpe devan tout foul moun yo,
4 epi yo di Jezi konsa: Mèt, yo kenbe fanm sa a nan men ap fè adiltè.
5 Moyiz te bay lòd nan lalwa a pou yo touye yo lè konsa ak kout wòch. Men, ou menm, kisa ou di nan sa?
6 Yo t’ap di sa, paske yo te vle pran l’ nan pèlen pou yo te ka akize li. Men, Jezi bese atè. Epi, avèk dwèt li, li kòmanse ekri atè a.
7 Men, moun yo t’ap kouvri l’ ak keksyon. Jezi leve atè a, li di yo: Se pou moun ki konnen li pa janm peche a ba l’ premye kout wòch la.
8 Apre sa, li bese atè a yon dezyèm fwa, li pran ekri ankò.
9 Lè yo tande pawòl sa yo, yonn apre lòt y’ al fè wout yo. Premye moun ki te mete deyò se te sak te pi granmoun yo. Jezi rete pou kont li ak fanm lan ki te kanpe devan l’.
10 Lè sa a, li leve, li di fanm lan: Madanm, kote moun yo? Pesonn pa kondannen ou?
11 Li reponn: Pesonn non, Mèt. Jezi di li: Mwen menm tou, mwen pa kondannen ou. Ou mèt ale. Men, pa janm fè peche ankò.
12 Jezi pale ankò ak foul moun yo, li di: Se mwen menm ki limyè k’ap klere tout moun ki sou latè. Moun ki swiv mwen va gen limyè ki bay lavi a. Yo p’ap janm mache nan fènwa.
13 Farizyen yo di li: Apa w’ap pale tèt pa ou byen? Sa w’ap di la a pa gen valè.
14 Jezi reponn yo: Menm si mwen t’ap pale tèt mwen byen, sa m’ap di a se verite, paske mwen konnen ki bò m’ soti, mwen konnen ki bò m’ prale. Men, nou menm, nou pa konnen ni ki bò m’ soti, ni ki bò m’ prale.
15 Nou menm, n’ap jije tankou lèzòm jije. Men, mwen menm mwen pa jije pesonn.
16 Mentou, si yon lè mwen gen pou m’ jije, m’ap jije byen dapre verite a, paske mwen p’ap jije pou kont mwen. Papa ki voye m’ lan ap la avèk mwen.
17 Nou jwenn sa ekri nan Lalwa nou an tou: Lè de temwen fè menm depozisyon an, sa yo di a vre.
18 Mwen sèvi temwen pou tèt pa m’; Papa a ki voye m’ lan sèvi m’ temwen tou.
19 Yo mande li: Kote papa ou? Jezi reponn yo: Nou pa konnen mwen, nou pa konn Papa mwen. Si nou te konnen m’, nou ta konnen Papa m’ tou.
20 Jezi te nan tanp lan, kote yo mete bwat pou fè ofrann yo. Se la li t’ap di yo tout pawòl sa yo, li t’ap moutre moun yo anpil lòt bagay ankò. Men, pesonn pa t’ mete men sou li, paske lè l’ pa t’ ankò rive.
21 Jezi di yo ankò: Mwen pral fè wout mwen. N’a chache m’, men n’a mouri nan peche nou yo. Nou pa ka ale kote m’ prale a.
22 Jwif yo yonn di lòt: Gen lè li pral touye tèt li? Tande sa l’ap di: Nou pa ka ale kote l’ prale a.
23 Jezi reponn yo: Nou soti anba, mwen menm mwen soti anwo. Nou se moun tè sa a, mwen menm mwen pa moun tè sa a.
24 Se poutèt sa mwen di nou, n’ap mouri nan peche nou. Wi, nou gen pou n’ mouri nan peche nou si nou pa kwè mwen se moun mwen ye a.
25 Yo mande li: Ki moun ou ye? Jezi reponn yo: Sa m’ te di nou depi nan konmansman an.
26 Mwen gen anpil bagay pou m’ di sou nou, anpil bagay menm pou m’ jije nan nou. Men, moun ki voye m’ lan, se verite ase li di. Se sèlman sa m’ pran nan bouch li m’ap anonse bay lèzòm ki sou latè.
27 Yo pa t’ konprann se sou Papa a li t’ap pale yo.
28 Jezi di yo ankò: Lè n’a leve Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a byen wo, n’a konnen se mwen menmm ki li menm. Lè sa a, n’a konnen mwen pa fè anyen pou kont mwen. Se sèlman sa Papa a moutre m’ mwen di.
29 Moun ki voye m’ lan la avèk mwen. Li pa kite m’ pou kont mwen paske mwen toujou fè sak fè l’ plezi.
30 Anpil moun ki te tande Jezi pale konsa te kwè nan li.
31 Jezi di jwif ki te kwè nan li yo: Si nou kenbe pawòl mwen yo nan kè nou, nou se disip mwen vre.
32 N’a konnen verite a, lè sa a verite a va ban nou libète nou.
33 Yo di li: Nou se pitit pitit Abraram. Nou pa janm esklav pesonn. Ki jan ou ka fè di nou: N’a gen libète nou?
34 Jezi reponn yo: Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Tout moun ki fè peche, se esklav peche yo ye.
35 Yon esklav pa fè pati moun kay la pou tout tan. Men, yon pitit fè pati moun kay la pou tout tan.
36 Si Pitit Bondye a ban nou libète, n’a lib tout bon.
37 Wi, mwen konnen se pitit pitit Abraram nou ye vre. Men, n’ap chache touye m’ paske nou pa asepte sa m’ap moutre nou.
38 M’ap di nou sa Papa m’ moutre mwen. Men nou menm, n’ap fè sa papa pa nou di nou fè.
39 Yo reponn li: Men, papa nou se Abraram. Jezi di yo: Si nou te pitit Abraram tout bon, nou ta fè sa li menm li te fè.
40 Gade koulye a, m’ap di nou verite a jan Bondye te moutre m’ li, atousa n’ap chache touye mwen. Abraram pa janm fè bagay konsa.
41 Men nou menm, n’ap fè sa papa nou ap fè. Yo reponn li: Nou pa pitit deyò non. Nou gen yon sèl papa, se Bondye.
42 Jezi di yo: Si Bondye te papa nou vre, nou ta renmen mwen. Paske, mwen soti bò kot Bondye. Se li menm ki voye m’ isit la. Mwen pa vini pou kont mwen. Se li menm menm ki voye mwen.
43 Poukisa nou pa konprann sa m’ap di nou la a? Paske nou pa kapab tande pawòl mwen yo.
44 Se Satan ki papa nou. Se sak fè nou vle fè sa papa nou vle. Depi nan konmansman se sa ase l’ap fè: touye moun. Li pa janm pran pozisyon pou verite a paske pa gen verite menm nan li. Depi l’ louvri bouch li, se manti l’ap bay paske sè mantò li ye. Se papa nan bay manti li ye.
45 Men mwen menm, mwen pale verite a. Se poutèt sa nou pa vle kwè mwen.
46 Kilès nan nou ki ka bay prèv mwen fè peche? Si sa m’ di a se vre, poukisa nou pa kwè mwen?
47 Tout moun ki moun Bondye, yo koute pawòl Bondye. Men nou menm, nou pa moun Bondye. Se sak fè nou pa vle koute.
48 Jwif yo reponn li: Nou te gen rezon lè n’ t’ap di se moun Samari ou ye. Ou gen yon move lespri sou ou.
49 Jezi di yo: Mwen pa gen okenn move lespri sou mwen. M’ap fè respe Papa mwen. Men nou menm, se derespekte n’ap derespekte mwen.
50 Mwen p’ap chache lwanj pou tèt pa mwen. Gen yon moun k’ap chache l’ pou mwen. Se li menm tou k’ap jije nou.
51 Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: moun ki fè tou sa mwen di l’ fè, li p’ap janm mouri.
52 Jwif yo di li: Koulye a, nou sèten ou gen yon move lespri sou ou. Abraram mouri. Pwofèt yo mouri tou. Epi ou menm, w’ap di: O wi, moun ki fè tou sa m’ di l’ fè, li p’ap janm mouri.
53 Abraram ki Abraram zansèt nou, li mouri. Koulye a, ou prèt pou di nou ou pi gran pase li? Pwofèt ki pwofèt yo mouri. Sa ou konprann ou ye menm?
54 Jezi reponn yo: Si m’ t’ap fè lwanj tèt mwen, lwanj sa a pa ta vo anyen. Moun k’ap fè lwanj mwen se Papa m’, moun nou pretann di ki Bondye nou an.
55 Nou pa konnen li. Men mwen menm, mwen konnen li. Si pou m’ ta di mwen pa konnen li, mwen ta bay manti tankou nou. Men, mwen konnen l’ epi m’ap fè tou sa li di m’ fè.
56 Abraram papa nou te kontan, paske li te anvi wè jou m’ lan rive. Li wè li. Sa te fè kè l’ kontan nèt.
57 Jwif yo di li: Ou poko gen senkantan, epi w’ap di ou te wè Abraram?
58 Jezi reponn yo: Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Abraram pa t’ ankò fèt, mwen menm, mwen te la deja.
59 Lè sa a, yo ranmase wòch pou kalonnen li. Men, Jezi kache kò l’ yon kote epi li soti nan tanp lan.

1 Jésus se rendit à la montagne des oliviers.
2 Mais, dès le matin, il alla de nouveau dans le temple, et tout le peuple vint à lui. S’étant assis, il les enseignait.
3 Alors les scribes et les pharisiens amenèrent une femme surprise en adultère;
4 et, la plaçant au milieu du peuple, ils dirent à Jésus: Maître, cette femme a été surprise en flagrant délit d’adultère.
5 Moïse, dans la loi, nous a ordonné de lapider de telles femmes: toi donc, que dis-tu?
6 Ils disaient cela pour l’éprouver, afin de pouvoir l’accuser. Mais Jésus, s’étant baissé, écrivait avec le doigt sur la terre.
7 Comme ils continuaient à l’interroger, il se releva et leur dit: Que celui de vous qui est sans péché jette le premier la pierre contre elle.
8 Et s’étant de nouveau baissé, il écrivait sur la terre.
9 Quand ils entendirent cela, accusés par leur conscience, ils se retirèrent un à un, depuis les plus âgés jusqu’aux derniers; et Jésus resta seul avec la femme qui était là au milieu.
10 Alors s’étant relevé, et ne voyant plus que la femme, Jésus lui dit: Femme, où sont ceux qui t’accusaient? Personne ne t’a-t-il condamnée?
11 Elle répondit: Non, Seigneur. Et Jésus lui dit: Je ne te condamne pas non plus: va, et ne pèche plus.
12 Jésus leur parla de nouveau, et dit: Je suis la lumière du monde; celui qui me suit ne marchera pas dans les ténèbres, mais il aura la lumière de la vie.
13 Là-dessus, les pharisiens lui dirent: Tu rends témoignage de toi-même; ton témoignage n’est pas vrai.
14 Jésus leur répondit: Quoique je rende témoignage de moi-même, mon témoignage est vrai, car je sais d’où je suis venu et où je vais; mais vous, vous ne savez d’où je viens ni où je vais.
15 Vous jugez selon la chair; moi, je ne juge personne.
16 Et si je juge, mon jugement est vrai, car je ne suis pas seul; mais le Père qui m’a envoyé est avec moi.
17 Il est écrit dans votre loi que le témoignage de deux hommes est vrai;
18 je rends témoignage de moi-même, et le Père qui m’a envoyé rend témoignage de moi.
19 Ils lui dirent donc: Où est ton Père? Jésus répondit: Vous ne connaissez ni moi, ni mon Père. Si vous me connaissiez, vous connaîtriez aussi mon Père.
20 Jésus dit ces paroles, enseignant dans le temple, au lieu où était le trésor; et personne ne le saisit, parce que son heure n’était pas encore venue.
21 Jésus leur dit encore: Je m’en vais, et vous me chercherez, et vous mourrez dans votre péché; vous ne pouvez venir où je vais.
22 Sur quoi les Juifs dirent: Se tuera-t-il lui-même, puisqu’il dit: Vous ne pouvez venir où je vais?
23 Et il leur dit: Vous êtes d’en bas; moi, je suis d’en haut. Vous êtes de ce monde; moi, je ne suis pas de ce monde.
24 C’est pourquoi je vous ai dit que vous mourrez dans vos péchés; car si vous ne croyez pas ce que je suis, vous mourrez dans vos péchés.
25 Qui es-tu? lui dirent-ils. Jésus leur répondit: Ce que je vous dis dès le commencement.
26 J’ai beaucoup de choses à dire de vous et à juger en vous; mais celui qui m’a envoyé est vrai, et ce que j’ai entendu de lui, je le dis au monde.
27 Ils ne comprirent point qu’il leur parlait du Père.
28 Jésus donc leur dit: Quand vous aurez élevé le Fils de l’homme, alors vous connaîtrez ce que je suis, et que je ne fais rien de moi-même, mais que je parle selon ce que le Père m’a enseigné.
29 Celui qui m’a envoyé est avec moi; il ne m’a pas laissé seul, parce que je fais toujours ce qui lui est agréable.
30 Comme Jésus parlait ainsi, plusieurs crurent en lui.
31 Et il dit aux Juifs qui avaient cru en lui: Si vous demeurez dans ma parole, vous êtes vraiment mes disciples;
32 vous connaîtrez la vérité, et la vérité vous affranchira.
33 Ils lui répondirent: Nous sommes la postérité d’Abraham, et nous ne fûmes jamais esclaves de personne; comment dis-tu: Vous deviendrez libres?
34 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, leur répliqua Jésus, quiconque se livre au péché est esclave du péché.
35 Or, l’esclave ne demeure pas toujours dans la maison; le fils y demeure toujours.
36 Si donc le Fils vous affranchit, vous serez réellement libres.
37 Je sais que vous êtes la postérité d’Abraham; mais vous cherchez à me faire mourir, parce que ma parole ne pénètre pas en vous.
38 Je dis ce que j’ai vu chez mon Père; et vous, vous faites ce que vous avez entendu de la part de votre père.
39 Ils lui répondirent: Notre père, c’est Abraham. Jésus leur dit: Si vous étiez enfants d’Abraham, vous feriez les oeuvres d’Abraham.
40 Mais maintenant vous cherchez à me faire mourir, moi qui vous ai dit la vérité que j’ai entendue de Dieu. Cela, Abraham ne l’a point fait.
41 Vous faites les oeuvres de votre père. Ils lui dirent: Nous ne sommes pas des enfants illégitimes; nous avons un seul Père, Dieu.
42 Jésus leur dit: Si Dieu était votre Père, vous m’aimeriez, car c’est de Dieu que je suis sorti et que je viens; je ne suis pas venu de moi-même, mais c’est lui qui m’a envoyé.
43 Pourquoi ne comprenez-vous pas mon langage? Parce que vous ne pouvez écouter ma parole.
44 Vous avez pour père le diable, et vous voulez accomplir les désirs de votre père. Il a été meurtrier dès le commencement, et il ne se tient pas dans la vérité, parce qu’il n’y a pas de vérité en lui. Lorsqu’il profère le mensonge, il parle de son propre fonds; car il est menteur et le père du mensonge.
45 Et moi, parce que je dis la vérité, vous ne me croyez pas.
46 Qui de vous me convaincra de péché? Si je dis la vérité, pourquoi ne me croyez-vous pas?
47 Celui qui est de Dieu, écoute les paroles de Dieu; vous n’écoutez pas, parce que vous n’êtes pas de Dieu.
48 Les Juifs lui répondirent: N’avons-nous pas raison de dire que tu es un Samaritain, et que tu as un démon?
49 Jésus répliqua: Je n’ai point de démon; mais j’honore mon Père, et vous m’outragez.
50 Je ne cherche point ma gloire; il en est un qui la cherche et qui juge.
51 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, si quelqu’un garde ma parole, il ne verra jamais la mort.
52 Maintenant, lui dirent les Juifs, nous connaissons que tu as un démon. Abraham est mort, les prophètes aussi, et tu dis: Si quelqu’un garde ma parole, il ne verra jamais la mort.
53 Es-tu plus grand que notre père Abraham, qui est mort? Les prophètes aussi sont morts. Qui prétends-tu être?
54 Jésus répondit: Si je me glorifie moi-même, ma gloire n’est rien. C’est mon père qui me glorifie, lui que vous dites être votre Dieu,
55 et que vous ne connaissez pas. Pour moi, je le connais; et, si je disais que je ne le connais pas, je serais semblable à vous, un menteur. Mais je le connais, et je garde sa parole.
56 Abraham, votre père, a tressailli de joie de ce qu’il verrait mon jour: il l’a vu, et il s’est réjoui.
57 Les Juifs lui dirent: Tu n’as pas encore cinquante ans, et tu as vu Abraham!
58 Jésus leur dit: En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, avant qu’Abraham fût, je suis.
59 Là-dessus, ils prirent des pierres pour les jeter contre lui; mais Jésus se cacha, et il sortit du temple.

1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
