1 Jozye leve granmaten, epi li menm ansanm ak tout pèp Izrayèl la yo kite Sitim kote yo te ye a, yo rive devan larivyè Jouden an. Epi yo pase nwit lan la anvan yo janbe lòt bò a.
2 Twa jou apre sa, chèf yo mache nan tout kan an.
3 Yo t’ap bay pèp la lòd sa pou yo fè. Yo t’ap di yo: -Lè n’a wè prèt yo ak moun Levi yo leve Bwat Kontra Seyè a, Bondye nou an, pou yo pati, n’a fè pakèt nou pou nou ka swiv yo.
4 Se konsa n’a konnen ki wout pou nou pran, paske nou poko janm pase bò isit la. Men, piga nou pwoche twò pre Bwat Kontra a. N’a kite yon distans senksan (500) mèt konsa ant li ak nou.
5 Apre sa, Jozye di pèp la: -Mete nou nan kondisyon pou nou fè sèvis pou Bondye, paske denmen Seyè a pral fè mèvèy devan je nou.
6 Jozye pale ak prèt yo, li di yo: -Pran Bwat Kontra a, epi pran devan pèp la sou wout la. Prèt yo pran Bwat Kontra a, epi yo pran devan pèp la.
7 Seyè a di Jozye konsa: -Sa mwen pral fè jòdi a pral fè tout pèp Izrayèl la respekte ou tankou yon grannèg. Yo pral konnen mwen kanpe la avè ou menm jan mwen te kanpe avèk Moyiz.
8 Ou menm, pase prèt k’ap pote Bwat Kontra a lòd sa a. Di yo lè y’a rive bò rivyè a, y’a antre nan dlo a, epi y’a rete toupre rivaj la.
9 Lè sa a, Jozye di moun pèp Izrayèl la: -Pwoche non: Vin tande sa Seyè a, Bondye nou an, gen pou di nou.
10 Lèfini, Jozye di yo konsa: -Jòdi a, nou pral konnen Seyè a, Bondye vivan an, nan mitan nou vre. Li pral chase devan nou moun Kanaran yo, moun Et yo, moun Evi yo, moun Ferezi yo, moun Gigach yo, moun Amori yo, moun Jebis yo.
11 Bwat Kontra Mèt tout latè a pral janbe lòt bò larivyè Jouden an anvan nou.
12 Chwazi douzòm, yonn nan chak branch fanmi pèp Izrayèl la.
13 Lè prèt k’ap pote Bwat Kontra Seyè a, Mèt tout latè a, va mete pye yo nan dlo larivyè Jouden an, larivyè a pral sispann koule desann, dlo a pral gonfle yon sèl kote bò tèt dlo a.
14 Se konsa, pèp la leve, yo kite kote yo te ye a. Yo pati pou janbe lòt bò larivyè Jouden an. Prèt yo pran devan pèp la avèk Bwat Kontra a.
15 Se te sezon rekòt, rivyè a t’ap desann, li te gonfle moute sou tout rivaj la. Lè prèt ki t’ap pote Bwat Kontra a rive bò larivyè Jouden an, yo mete pye yo nan dlo a.
16 Dlo ki t’ap koule desann lan sispann koule. Li gonfle yon sèl bò, bò anwo byen lwen, jouk Adam, lavil ki te toupre Zaretan an. Pa t’ gen dlo ki t’ap koule desann nan lanmè Mouri a ankò. Se konsa pèp la janbe lòt bò larivyè a toupre lavil Jeriko.
17 Pandan pèp la t’ap janbe lòt bò san tak dlo pa mouye pye yo, prèt yo te rete kanpe nan mitan larivyè a avèk Bwat Kontra a. Pa t’ gen tak dlo kote yo te ye a. Yo rete kanpe la jouk tout pèp la te fin pase nèt.

Josué 3
1 Josué, s’étant levé de bon matin, partit de Sittim avec tous les enfants d’Israël. Ils arrivèrent au Jourdain; et là, ils passèrent la nuit, avant de le traverser.
2 Au bout de trois jours, les officiers parcoururent le camp,
3 et donnèrent cet ordre au peuple: Lorsque vous verrez l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, portée par les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, vous partirez du lieu où vous êtes, et vous vous mettrez en marche après elle.
4 Mais il y aura entre vous et elle une distance d’environ deux mille coudées: n’en approchez pas. Elle vous montrera le chemin que vous devez suivre, car vous n’avez point encore passé par ce chemin.
5 Josué dit au peuple: Sanctifiez-vous, car demain l’Éternel fera des prodiges au milieu de vous.
6 Et Josué dit aux sacrificateurs: Portez l’arche de l’alliance, et passez devant le peuple. Ils portèrent l’arche de l’alliance, et ils marchèrent devant le peuple.
7 L’Éternel dit à Josué: Aujourd’hui, je commencerai à t’élever aux yeux de tout Israël, afin qu’ils sachent que je serai avec toi comme j’ai été avec Moïse.
8 Tu donneras cet ordre aux sacrificateurs qui portent l’arche de l’alliance: Lorsque vous arriverez au bord des eaux du Jourdain, vous vous arrêterez dans le Jourdain.
9 Josué dit aux enfants d’Israël: Approchez, et écoutez les paroles de l’Éternel, votre Dieu.
10 Josué dit: A ceci vous reconnaîtrez que le Dieu vivant est au milieu de vous, et qu’il chassera devant vous les Cananéens, les Héthiens, les Héviens, les Phéréziens, les Guirgasiens, les Amoréens et les Jébusiens:
11 voici, l’arche de l’alliance du Seigneur de toute la terre va passer devant vous dans le Jourdain.
12 Maintenant, prenez douze hommes parmi les tribus d’Israël, un homme de chaque tribu.
13 Et dès que les sacrificateurs qui portent l’arche de l’Éternel, le Seigneur de toute la terre, poseront la plante des pieds dans les eaux du Jourdain, les eaux du Jourdain seront coupées, les eaux qui descendent d’en haut, et elles s’arrêteront en un monceau.
14 Le peuple sortit de ses tentes pour passer le Jourdain, et les sacrificateurs qui portaient l’arche de l’alliance marchèrent devant le peuple.
15 Quand les sacrificateurs qui portaient l’arche furent arrivés au Jourdain, et que leurs pieds se furent mouillés au bord de l’eau, -le Jourdain regorge par-dessus toutes ses rives tout le temps de la moisson,
16 les eaux qui descendent d’en haut s’arrêtèrent, et s’élevèrent en un monceau, à une très grande distance, près de la ville d’Adam, qui est à côté de Tsarthan; et celles qui descendaient vers la mer de la plaine, la mer Salée, furent complètement coupées. Le peuple passa vis-à-vis de Jéricho.
17 Les sacrificateurs qui portaient l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel s’arrêtèrent de pied ferme sur le sec, au milieu du Jourdain, pendant que tout Israël passait à sec, jusqu’à ce que toute la nation eût achevé de passer le Jourdain.

Joshua 3
1 And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.
2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;
3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
6 And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
7 And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
8 And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the Lord your God.
10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
12 Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.
14 And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
