1 Samyèl 9
1 Te gen yon nonm nan branch fanmi Benjamen an yo te rele Kich. Se te pitit Abiyèl, pitit pitit Zewò ki te pitit Bekora, pitit pitit Afya. Kich te yon grannèg.
2 Li te gen yon pitit gason ki te rele Sayil, yon bèl gason byen kanpe. pa t’ gen moun nan pèp Izrayèl la ki te pi bèl pase l’. Li te pi wo pase yo tout.
3 Kich te gen kèk manman bourik ki te pèdi. Li di Sayil konsa: -Pran yonn nan domestik yo avè ou, al bouske manman bourik yo pou mwen.
4 Yo mache nan tout mòn Efrayim yo ak nan tout peyi Chalicha a, men yo pa jwenn bourik yo. Y’ ale nan tout peyi Chaalim lan, yo pa jwenn yo. Y’ ale nan tout peyi Benjamen an, yo pa jwenn yo.
5 Lè yo rive nan peyi Souf, Sayil di domestik ki te avè l’ la: -Ann tounen lakay pou papa m’ pa gen tèt chaje pou nou jouk pou l’ ta rive bliye bourik li yo.
6 Domestik la reponn li: -Gen yon bon sèvitè Bondye nan lavil sa a. Se yon nonm tout moun respekte paske tou sa li di rive vre. Ann al jwenn li. Ou pa janm konnen, li ka di nou kote pou n’ ale pou n’ jwenn bourik yo.
7 Sayil di domestik la: -Dakò! Nou pral jwenn li. Men, kisa pou nou pote ba li? Nou pa gen pen ankò nan ralfò nou. Nou pa gen anyen pou n’ fè sèvitè Bondye a kado.
8 Domestik la reponn li: -Mwen gen yon ti pyès ajan sou mwen, m’a ba li l’. L’a di nou kote n’a jwenn yo.
9 Nan tan lontan, lè yon moun te bezwen mande Bondye kichòy, li te konn di: Ann al kay divinò a, paske lè sa a se konsa yo te konn rele pwofèt Bondye yo.
10 Sayil di domestik li a: -Sa ou di a bon wi! Ann ale! Se konsa y’ ale nan lavil kote sèvitè Bondye a te ye.
11 Pandan yo t’ap moute ti pant ki mennen lavil la, yo kontre ak kèk jenn fi ki t’ap soti lavil la pou y’ al nan dlo. Yo mande medam yo: -Eske divinò a la nan lavil la?
12 Jenn fi yo reponn: -Li la wi. Gade, men li la devan ou lan. Fè vit, li fenk rive lavil la, paske jòdi a se jou pou moun yo al touye bèt pou Bondye sou lotèl ki sou ti mòn lan.
13 Rive n’a rive lavil la, n’a jwenn li anvan l’ al manje sou ti mòn lan. Pèp la p’ap manje toutotan li pa rive, paske se li ki pou beni ofrann bèt la anvan. Lè li fini, moun yo envite yo va manje. Prese ale koulye a pou nou ka jwenn li.
14 Se konsa yo moute ale lavil la. Antan yo t’ap antre lavil la, yo wè Samyèl ki t’ap vin devan yo, sou wout pou l’ al sou mòn lan.
15 Men, lavèy jou Sayil rive lavil la, Seyè a te fè Samyèl yon revelasyon. Li te di l’ konsa:
16 -Denmen, vè lè konsa, m’ap voye yon moun ki soti nan peyi Benjamen an bò kote ou. W’a vide lwil sou tèt li, w’a mete l’ apa pou l’ chèf pèp mwen an, chèf pèp Izrayèl la. Se li ki va delivre pèp mwen an anba men moun Filisti yo. Mwen wè jan pèp la ap soufri, mwen tande jan y’ap rele mande sekou.
17 Lè Samyèl wè Sayil, Seyè a di l’ konsa: -Men nonm mwen t’ap pale ou la. Se li ki pral gouvènen pèp mwen an.
18 Sayil mache sou Samyèl ki te toupre pòtay la. Li mande l’: -Tanpri, moutre m’ kay divinò a.
19 Samyèl reponn li: -Se mwen menm divinò a! Pran devan m’, moute sou mòn lan. W’a manje avè m’ jòdi a. Denmen maten, m’a reponn tout keksyon ou gen sou kè ou. Apre sa, m’a kite ou al fè wout ou.
20 Kanta manman bourik ou te pèdi depi twa jou yo, ou pa bezwen bat kò ou, paske yo jwenn yo deja. Men, ki moun pèp Izrayèl la ap chache li menm? Se pa ou menm ak tout fanmi papa ou yo?
21 Sayil reponn li: -Mwen se moun branch fanmi Benjamen an, yonn nan pi piti branch fanmi nan pèp Izrayèl la. Lèfini, fanmi pa m’ lan, se li ki pi piti nan tout fanmi Benjamen yo. Poukisa w’ap di m’ tout bagay sa yo?
22 Samyèl pran Sayil ansanm ak domestik li a, li fè yo antre nan gwo pyès kay la, li fè yo chita nan premye plas bò tab la ansanm ak tout envite yo. Te gen trant gason konsa yo te envite.
23 Epi Samyèl di chèf kizin lan: -Pote moso vyann mwen te ba ou mete apa pou mwen an.
24 Chèf kizin lan pran jigo a avèk tout vyann ki te avè l’ la, li mete l’ devan Sayil. Samyèl di li: -Gade, men moso yo te sere pou ou a. Manje l’, paske se pou ou mwen te fè mete l’ apa lè mwen t’ap envite pèp la. Se konsa Sayil manje ansanm ak Samyèl jou sa a.
25 Apre sa, yo desann soti sou mòn lan, y’ al lavil la. Yo ranje yon kabann pou Sayil sou teras ki anwo kay la.
26 Nan denmen yo leve byen bonè. Lè bajou kase, Samyèl rele Sayil sou teras la: -Leve non. Mwen pral voye ou ale lakay ou. Sayil leve, epi yo tou de yo soti nan lari a ansanm.
27 Lè yo rive sou limit lavil la, Samyèl di Sayil konsa: -Di domestik ou a pran devan nou. Domestik la pran devan, epi Samyèl di Sayil ankò: -Ou menm, rete la yon ti moman pou m’ ka fè ou konnen sa Seyè a di.

1 Samuel 9
1 Il y avait un homme de Benjamin, nommé Kis, fils d’Abiel, fils de Tseror, fils de Becorath, fils d’Aphiach, fils d’un Benjamite. C’était un homme fort et vaillant.
2 Il avait un fils du nom de Saül, jeune et beau, plus beau qu’aucun des enfants d’Israël, et les dépassant tous de la tête.
3 Les ânesses de Kis, père de Saül, s’égarèrent; et Kis dit à Saül, son fils: Prends avec toi l’un des serviteurs, lève-toi, va, et cherche les ânesses.
4 Il passa par la montagne d’Éphraïm et traversa le pays de Schalischa, sans les trouver; ils passèrent par le pays de Schaalim, et elles n’y étaient pas; ils parcoururent le pays de Benjamin, et ils ne les trouvèrent pas.
5 Ils étaient arrivés dans le pays de Tsuph, lorsque Saül dit à son serviteur qui l’accompagnait: Viens, retournons, de peur que mon père, oubliant les ânesses, ne soit en peine de nous.
6 Le serviteur lui dit: Voici, il y a dans cette ville un homme de Dieu, et c’est un homme considéré; tout ce qu’il dit ne manque pas d’arriver. Allons y donc; peut-être nous fera-t-il connaître le chemin que nous devons prendre.
7 Saül dit à son serviteur: Mais si nous y allons, que porterons-nous à l’homme de Dieu? Car il n’y a plus de provisions dans nos sacs, et nous n’avons aucun présent à offrir à l’homme de Dieu. Qu’est-ce que nous avons?
8 Le serviteur reprit la parole, et dit à Saül: Voici, j’ai sur moi le quart d’un sicle d’argent; je le donnerai à l’homme de Dieu, et il nous indiquera notre chemin.
9 Autrefois en Israël, quand on allait consulter Dieu, on disait: Venez, et allons au voyant! Car celui qu’on appelle aujourd’hui le prophète s’appelait autrefois le voyant. –
10 Saül dit à son serviteur: Tu as raison: viens, allons! Et ils se rendirent à la ville où était l’homme de Dieu.
11 Comme ils montaient à la ville, ils rencontrèrent des jeunes filles sorties pour puiser de l’eau, et ils leur dirent: Le voyant est-il ici?
12 Elles leur répondirent en disant: Oui, il est devant toi; mais va promptement, car aujourd’hui il est venu à la ville parce qu’il y a un sacrifice pour le peuple sur le haut lieu.
13 Quand vous serez entrés dans la ville, vous le trouverez avant qu’il monte au haut lieu pour manger; car le peuple ne mangera point qu’il ne soit arrivé, parce qu’il doit bénir le sacrifice; après quoi, les conviés mangeront. Montez donc, car maintenant vous le trouverez.
14 Et ils montèrent à la ville. Ils étaient arrivés au milieu de la ville, quand ils furent rencontrés par Samuel qui sortait pour monter au haut lieu.
15 Or, un jour avant l’arrivée de Saül, l’Éternel avait averti Samuel, en disant:
16 Demain, à cette heure, je t’enverrai un homme du pays de Benjamin, et tu l’oindras pour chef de mon peuple d’Israël. Il sauvera mon peuple de la main des Philistins; car j’ai regardé mon peuple, parce que son cri est venu jusqu’à moi.
17 Lorsque Samuel eut aperçu Saül, l’Éternel lui dit: Voici l’homme dont je t’ai parlé; c’est lui qui régnera sur mon peuple.
18 Saül s’approcha de Samuel au milieu de la porte, et dit: Indique-moi, je te prie, où est la maison du voyant.
19 Samuel répondit à Saül: C’est moi qui suis le voyant. Monte devant moi au haut lieu, et vous mangerez aujourd’hui avec moi. Je te laisserai partir demain, et je te dirai tout ce qui se passe dans ton coeur.
20 Ne t’inquiètes pas des ânesses que tu as perdues il y a trois jours, car elles sont retrouvées. Et pour qui est réservé tout ce qu’il y a de précieux en Israël? N’est-ce pas pour toi et pour toute la maison de ton père?
21 Saül répondit: Ne suis-je pas Benjamite, de l’une des plus petites tribus d’Israël? et ma famille n’est-elle pas la moindre de toutes les familles de la tribu de Benjamin? Pourquoi donc me parles-tu de la sorte?
22 Samuel prit Saül et son serviteur, les fit entrer dans la salle, et leur donna une place à la tête des conviés, qui étaient environ trente hommes.
23 Samuel dit au cuisinier: Sers la portion que je t’ai donnée, en te disant: Mets-la à part.
24 Le cuisinier donna l’épaule et ce qui l’entoure, et il la servit à Saül. Et Samuel dit: Voici ce qui a été réservé; mets-le devant toi, et mange, car on l’a gardé pour toi lorsque j’ai convié le peuple. Ainsi Saül mangea avec Samuel ce jour-là.
25 Ils descendirent du haut lieu à la ville, et Samuel s’entretint avec Saül sur le toit.
26 Puis ils se levèrent de bon matin; et, dès l’aurore, Samuel appela Saül sur le toit, et dit: Viens, et je te laisserai partir. Saül se leva, et ils sortirent tous deux, lui et Samuel.
27 Quand ils furent descendus à l’extrémité de la ville, Samuel dit à Saül: Dis à ton serviteur de passer devant nous. Et le serviteur passa devant. Arrête-toi maintenant, reprit Samuel, et je te ferai entendre la parole de Dieu.

1 Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.
2 And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.
3 And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.
4 And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.
5 And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.
6 And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.
7 Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?
8 And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.
9 (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)
10 Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.
11 And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?
12 And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:
13 As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.
14 And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.
15 Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,
16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.
17 And when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.
18 Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer’s house is.
19 And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.
20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?
21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
22 And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.
23 And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.
24 And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.
25 And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.
26 And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.
27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.
