1 Balaram di Balak konsa: -Bati sèt lotèl isit la pou mwen. Apre sa, ban mwen sèt towo bèf ak sèt belye mouton.
2 Balak fè sa Balaram te di l’ fè a. Lèfini, Balaram ak Balak touye yon towo bèf ak yon belye mouton sou chak lotèl.
3 Apre sa, Balaram di Balak konsa: -Rete kanpe bò kote ofrann ou mete ap boule la a. Mwen menm, mwen pral wè si Seyè a p’ap vin jwenn mwen. Apre sa, m’a fè ou konnen sa l’a fè m’ wè a. Epi l’ ale sou tèt yon ti mòn ki pa t’ gen yon ti pyebwa sou li.
4 Epi Bondye vin jwenn li la. Balaram di l’ konsa: -Mwen te fè bati sèt lotèl pou ou, epi mwen te touye yon towo bèf ak yon belye mouton sou chak lotèl pou ou.
5 Seyè a pale ak Balaram byen pale. Apre sa, li di l’: -Tounen bò kote Balak. W’a pale avè l’ jan mwen di ou la.
6 Se konsa, Balaram tounen bò kote Balak. Li jwenn li kanpe bò ofrann boule yo ansanm ak lòt chèf moun Moab yo.
7 Lèfini, li pran chante chante sa a: -Balak fè m’ kite peyi m’, peyi Aram. Wa Moab la fè m’ desann soti nan mòn bò solèy leve yo. Li di m’: Vini non! Vin bay moun Jakòb yo madichon. Vini non! Vin kraponnen moun Izrayèl yo.
8 Men ki jan ou ta vle pou m’ madichonnen moun Bondye pa madichonnen? Ki jan ou ta vle pou m’ kraponnen moun Bondye pa kraponnen?
9 Mwen kanpe sou tèt gwo wòch yo, mwen wè yo. Antan mwen sou ti mòn yo, m’ap gade anba: Wi, se yon pèp k’ap viv yon jan apa pou kont li. Se yon pèp ki pa menm ak lòt pèp yo!
10 Ki moun ki ka konte valè pitit Jakòb genyen? Yo anpil tankou grenn pousyè ki sou latè. Ki moun ki ka konte valè pitit Izrayèl yo ye? Mwen ta renmen mouri tankou moun ki mache dwat devan Bondye. Mwen ta renmen fini tankou yo ak kè poze.
11 Balak di Balaram: -Kisa w’ap fè m’ konsa? Mwen mennen ou isit la pou bay lènmi m’ yo madichon, epi se beni mwen wè w’ap beni yo!
12 Balaram reponn: -Mwen te tou di ou se sèlman pawòl Seyè a va mete nan bouch mwen m’ap di.
13 Balak di Balaram konsa: -Ann al avè m’ yon lòt kote. Antan ou va la, ou p’ap wè tout pèp Izrayèl la, men sèlman yon pòsyon ladan l’. W’a rete kanpe la, epi w’a bay ti sa w’a wè a madichon pou mwen.
14 Balak pran Balaram, li mennen l’ nan jaden Santinèl yo, sou tèt mòn Pisga. Lè l’ rive la, li bati sèt lotèl. Epi li touye yon jenn ti towo bèf ak yon belye mouton sou chak lotèl pou Bondye.
15 Balaram di Balak konsa: -Rete kanpe bò kote ofrann ou mete boule sou lotèl yo. Mwen menm, mwen pral kontre ak Bondye pi devan.
16 Seyè a vin jwenn Balaram, li pale ak Balaram byen pale ankò, epi li di l’: -Tounen al jwenn Balak. W’a pale avè l’ jan mwen di ou la.
17 Se konsa Balaram tounen bò kote Balak, li jwenn li kanpe bò ofrann boule yo ansanm ak tout chèf moun Moab yo. Epi Balak mande l’: -Kisa Seyè a di konsa?
18 Epi Balaram pran chante chante sa a: -Souke kò ou, Balak! Vin tande! Pare zòrèy ou, pitit Zipò!
19 Bondye pa tankou moun k’ap bay manti. Non! Li pa tankou moun k’ap chanje lide yo pou ti krik ti krak! Depi li pwomèt yon bagay, l’ap fè l’. Depi li pale, fòk sa li di a rive vre!
20 Yo ban m’ lòd pou m’ beni pèp Izrayèl la! Lè Bondye fin bay benediksyon l’, nanpwen anyen mwen ka fè ankò.
21 Mwen pa wè okenn malè pou moun Jakòb yo. Ni mwen pa wè okenn traka pou moun Izrayèl yo. Seyè a, Bondye yo a, l’a avèk yo. Yo tout kontan, y’ap fè konnen se li ki wa yo.
22 Paske, lè Bondye t’ap fè yo soti kite peyi Lejip la, li te ba yo fòs pou yo te goumen tankou towo mawon.
23 Pa gen wanga ki ka pran sou moun Jakòb yo. Pa gen maji ki ka fè moun Izrayèl yo anyen. Lè lè a va rive, y’a di moun Jakòb yo ak moun Izrayèl yo: Gade sa Seyè a fè pou nou!
24 Gade! Pèp Izrayèl la kanpe tankou yon manman lyon. Yo leve kanpe tankou yon mal lyon. Yo p’ap chita toutotan yo pa fin devore moun ki tonbe anba men yo, toutotan yo pa fin bwè san moun yo touye yo.
25 Lè sa a, Balak di Balaram konsa: -Menm jan ou pa vle ba yo madichon an, ou pa t’ dwe asepte ba yo benediksyon non plis.
26 Men, Balaram reponn Balak, li di l’: -Mwen te tou pale ou wi. Mwen te di ou: Tou sa Seyè a va di m’ fè, se sa m’ap fè.
27 Balak di Balaram konsa: -Ann al non! Mwen pral mennen ou yon lòt kote. Ou pa janm konnen, antan ou la a, Bondye ka kite ou bay pèp la madichon pou mwen.
28 Balak mennen Balaram sou tèt mòn Peyò a. Antan yo la, yo dekouvri tout dezè a nan pye yo.
29 Balaram di Balak konsa: -Bati sèt lotèl pou mwen isit la. Lèfini, fè m’ jwenn sèt jenn ti towo bèf ak sèt belye mouton.
30 Balak fè tou sa Balaram te di l’ fè a, epi li touye yon ti towo bèf ak yon belye mouton sou chak lotèl pou Bondye.

1 Balaam dit à Balak: Bâtis-moi ici sept autels, et prépare-moi ici sept taureaux et sept béliers.
2 Balak fit ce que Balaam avait dit; et Balak et Balaam offrirent un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel.
3 Balaam dit à Balak: Tiens-toi près de ton holocauste, et je m’éloignerai; peut-être que l’Éternel viendra à ma rencontre, et je te dirai ce qu’il me révélera. Et il alla sur un lieu élevé.
4 Dieu vint au-devant de Balaam, et Balaam lui dit: J’ai dressé sept autels, et j’ai offert un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel.
5 L’Éternel mit des paroles dans la bouche de Balaam, et dit: Retourne vers Balak, et tu parleras ainsi.
6 Il retourna vers lui; et voici, Balak se tenait près de son holocauste, lui et tous les chefs de Moab.
7 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Balak m’a fait descendre d’Aram, Le roi de Moab m’a fait descendre des montagnes de l’Orient. -Viens, maudis-moi Jacob! Viens, sois irrité contre Israël!
8 Comment maudirais-je celui que Dieu n’a point maudit? Comment serais-je irrité quand l’Éternel n’est point irrité?
9 Je le vois du sommet des rochers, Je le contemple du haut des collines: C’est un peuple qui a sa demeure à part, Et qui ne fait point partie des nations.
10 Qui peut compter la poussière de Jacob, Et dire le nombre du quart d’Israël? Que je meure de la mort des justes, Et que ma fin soit semblable à la leur!
11 Balak dit à Balaam: Que m’as-tu fait? Je t’ai pris pour maudire mon ennemi, et voici, tu le bénis!
12 Il répondit, et dit: N’aurai-je pas soin de dire ce que l’Éternel met dans ma bouche?
13 Balak lui dit: Viens donc avec moi dans un autre lieu, d’où tu le verras; tu n’en verras qu’une partie, tu n’en verras pas la totalité. Et de là maudis-le-moi.
14 Il le mena au champ de Tsophim, sur le sommet du Pisga; il bâtit sept autels, et offrit un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel.
15 Balaam dit à Balak: Tiens-toi ici, près de ton holocauste, et j’irai à la rencontre de Dieu.
16 L’Éternel vint au-devant de Balaam; il mit des paroles dans sa bouche, et dit: Retourne vers Balak, et tu parleras ainsi.
17 Il retourna vers lui; et voici, Balak se tenait près de son holocauste, avec les chefs de Moab. Balak lui dit: Qu’est-ce que l’Éternel a dit?
18 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Lève-toi, Balak, écoute! Prête-moi l’oreille, fils de Tsippor!
19 Dieu n’est point un homme pour mentir, Ni fils d’un homme pour se repentir. Ce qu’il a dit, ne le fera-t-il pas? Ce qu’il a déclaré, ne l’exécutera-t il pas?
20 Voici, j’ai reçu l’ordre de bénir: Il a béni, je ne le révoquerai point.
21 Il n’aperçoit point d’iniquité en Jacob, Il ne voit point d’injustice en Israël; L’Éternel, son Dieu, est avec lui, Il est son roi, l’objet de son allégresse.
22 Dieu les a fait sortir d’Égypte, Il est pour eux comme la vigueur du buffle.
23 L’enchantement ne peut rien contre Jacob, Ni la divination contre Israël; Au temps marqué, il sera dit à Jacob et à Israël: Quelle est l’oeuvre de Dieu.
24 C’est un peuple qui se lève comme une lionne, Et qui se dresse comme un lion; Il ne se couche point jusqu’à ce qu’il ait dévoré la proie, Et qu’il ait bu le sang des blessés.
25 Balak dit à Balaam: Ne le maudis pas, mais du moins ne le bénis pas.
26 Balaam répondit, et dit à Balak: Ne t’ai-je pas parlé ainsi: Je ferai tout ce que l’Éternel dira?
27 Balak dit à Balaam: Viens donc, je te mènerai dans un autre lieu; peut être Dieu trouvera-t-il bon que de là tu me maudisses ce peuple.
28 Balak mena Balaam sur le sommet du Peor, en regard du désert.
29 Balaam dit à Balak: Bâtis-moi ici sept autels, et prépare-moi ici sept taureaux et sept béliers.
30 Balak fit ce que Balaam avait dit, et il offrit un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel.

1 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.
2 And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.
3 And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the Lord will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.
4 And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.
5 And the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.
6 And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.
7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?
9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
11 And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
12 And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the Lord hath put in my mouth?
13 And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
14 And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
15 And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the Lord yonder.
16 And the Lord met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.
17 And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the Lord spoken?
18 And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.
23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
24 Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
25 And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
26 But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the Lord speaketh, that I must do?
27 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.
28 And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward jeshimon.
29 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
30 And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
