Deteronòm 21
1 Si nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te ban nou pou n’ rete a, nou rive jwenn kadav yon moun yo sasinen nan yon jaden, san nou pa konnen ki moun ki fè sa,
2 chèf fanmi yo ak jij yo va soti, y’a mezire distans ki genyen ant kote yo jwenn kadav la ak lavil ki toupre yo.
3 Y’a wè lavil ki pi pre a. Le sa a, chèf fanmi ki reskonsab lavil ki pi pre kote yo te jwenn kadav la va pran yon jenn ti gazèl bèf ki poko janm sèvi pou fè ankenn travay.
4 Y’a mennen l’ bò yon larivyè ki pa janm chèch, nan yon pozisyon kote tè a pa janm travay ni sekle. Epi se la y’a kase kou l’.
5 Apre sa, prèt yo, pitit Levi yo, va vini, paske se yo menm Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te chwazi pou fè sèvis pou li ak pou beni pèp la nan non li. Se yo menm ki pou bay dènye mo a lè gen diskisyon, lè gen san deyò.
6 Apre sa, chèf fanmi ki reskonsab lavil ki pi pre kote yo te jwenn kadav la va lave men yo ak dlo anwo gazèl yo te touye a.
7 Y’a di: Se pa nou ki touye moun sa a, ni nou pa wè ki moun ki fè krim sa a.
8 Seyè! Ou menm ki te delivre moun Izrayèl yo anba moun peyi Lejip yo, padonnen pèp ou a. Pa rann nou reskonsab lanmò yon inonsan yo touye. Bondye va padonnen krim ki fèt la.
9 Se konsa, n’a fè sa Seyè a te ban nou lòd fè a, yo p’ap rann nou reskonsab lanmò inonsan yo touye a.
10 Lè n’ap fè lagè ak lènmi nou yo epi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, fè nou genyen yo, li fè nou fè anpil prizonye,
11 si yonn nan nou wè pami prizonye yo yon bèl fanm, epi li tonbe damou pou li, l’a gen dwa pran l’ pou madanm li.
12 L’a mennen l’ lakay li. Fanm lan va koupe tout cheve nan tèt li, l’a koupe tout zong dwèt ak tout zong pye l’ yo,
13 l’a wete rad ki te sou li lè yo te fè l’ prizonye a. L’a rete anndan kay nonm lan pandan yon mwa ap kriye pou papa l’ ak manman l’. Apre sa, nonm lan va pwoche bò kote l’, l’a marye avè l’, l’a pran l’ pou madanm li.
14 Si apre sa, rive yon lè nonm lan pa renmen l’ ankò, l’a kite l’ al fè wout li. Li p’ap ka vann li pou lajan, ni li pa ka aji avè l’ tankou yon esklav, paske se fòse li te fòse l’ vin madanm li.
15 Sipoze yon nonm ki gen de madanm, gen yonn li renmen plis pase lòt epi tou de madanm yo fè pitit gason pou li. Men, premye pitit gason l’ lan twouve se pitit fanm li renmen mwens lan li ye.
16 Lè lè a va rive pou l’ separe byen l’ yo bay pitit li yo, li p’ap ka fè patipri pou l’ pran pitit gason fanm li pi renmen an pou l’ ba li pòsyon ki pou ale pou premye pitit gason an, pòsyon ki pou pitit gason fanm li renmen mwens lan.
17 Wè pa wè, se pou l’ respekte dwa premye pitit gason l’ lan, dwa pitit gason fanm li renmen mwens lan. L’a ba li de fwa lavalè sa li gen pou l’ bay chak lòt pitit li yo, paske se li menm ki premye pitit gason li te fè lè li te jenn gason. Se li ki gen tout dwa yon premye pitit gason genyen.
18 Si yonn nan nou gen yon pitit gason ki radi, ki gen tèt di, ki pa vle koute ni manman l’ ni papa l’ lè y’ap pale ak li, yo te mèt bat li, sa antre nan yon zòrèy soti nan lòt la,
19 manman l’ ak papa l’ va kenbe l’, y’a trennen l’ devan chèf fanmi yo, nan tribinal ki bò pòtay lavil kote yo rete a.
20 Epi y’a di yo: Men pitit gason nou an. Nou mennen l’ ban nou paske li radi, l’ap fè wondonmon, li pa vle koute lè n’ap pale avè l’. L’ap gaspiye tout lajan nou nan bweson, li nan tout kalite vis.
21 Lè sa a, tout gason ki rete nan lavil la va kalonnen l’ wòch jouk yo touye l’. Se konsa n’a wete bagay mal sa a ki t’ap fèt nan mitan nou an. Tout moun nan pèp Izrayèl la va konn sa, y’a mache sou piga yo.
22 Si yo kondannen yon moun pou yon krim li fè, epi lè yo fin touye l’, yo pann kadav la nan yon pyebwa,
23 pa janm kite kadav la pase nwit sou pyebwa a. Se pou nou antere l’ menm jou a, paske yon kadav pann nan yon pyebwa se bagay ki pa fè Bondye plezi. Se konsa nou p’ap kite yo fè ankenn vye bagay ki pou fè Seyè a, Bondye nou an, vire do ban nou nan peyi Seyè a pral ban nou pou nou rete a.

Deuteronome 21
1 Si, dans le pays dont l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne la possession, l’on trouve étendu au milieu d’un champ un homme tué, sans que l’on sache qui l’a frappé,
2 tes anciens et tes juges iront mesurer les distances à partir du cadavre jusqu’aux villes des environs.
3 Quand on aura déterminé la ville la plus rapprochée du cadavre, les anciens de cette ville prendront une génisse qui n’ait point servi au travail et qui n’ait point tiré au joug.
4 Ils feront descendre cette génisse vers un torrent qui jamais ne tarisse et où il n’y ait ni culture ni semence; et là, ils briseront la nuque à la génisse, dans le torrent.
5 Alors s’approcheront les sacrificateurs, fils de Lévi; car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, les a choisis pour qu’ils le servent et qu’ils bénissent au nom de l’Éternel, et ce sont eux qui doivent prononcer sur toute contestation et sur toute blessure.
6 Tous les anciens de cette ville la plus rapprochée du cadavre laveront leurs mains sur la génisse à laquelle on a brisé la nuque dans le torrent.
7 Et prenant la parole, ils diront: Nos mains n’ont point répandu ce sang et nos yeux ne l’ont point vu répandre.
8 Pardonne, ô Éternel! à ton peuple d’Israël, que tu as racheté; n’impute pas le sang innocent à ton peuple d’Israël, et ce sang ne lui sera point imputé.
9 Ainsi, tu dois faire disparaître du milieu de toi le sang innocent, en faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel.
10 Lorsque tu iras à la guerre contre tes ennemis, si l’Éternel les livre entre tes mains, et que tu leur fasses des prisonniers,
11 peut-être verras-tu parmi les captives une femme belle de figure, et auras-tu le désir de la prendre pour femme.
12 Alors tu l’amèneras dans l’intérieur de ta maison. Elle se rasera la tête et se fera les ongles,
13 elle quittera les vêtements qu’elle portait quand elle a été prise, elle demeurera dans ta maison, et elle pleurera son père et sa mère pendant un mois. Après cela, tu iras vers elle, tu l’auras en ta possession, et elle sera ta femme.
14 Si elle cesse de te plaire, tu la laisseras aller où elle voudra, tu ne pourras pas la vendre pour de l’argent ni la traiter comme esclave, parce que tu l’auras humiliée.
15 Si un homme, qui a deux femmes, aime l’une et n’aime pas l’autre, et s’il en a des fils dont le premier-né soit de la femme qu’il n’aime pas,
16 il ne pourra point, quand il partagera son bien entre ses fils, reconnaître comme premier-né le fils de celle qu’il aime, à la place du fils de celle qu’il n’aime pas, et qui est le premier-né.
17 Mais il reconnaîtra pour premier-né le fils de celle qu’il n’aime pas, et lui donnera sur son bien une portion double; car ce fils est les prémices de sa vigueur, le droit d’aînesse lui appartient.
18 Si un homme a un fils indocile et rebelle, n’écoutant ni la voix de son père, ni la voix de sa mère, et ne leur obéissant pas même après qu’ils l’ont châtié,
19 le père et la mère le prendront, et le mèneront vers les anciens de sa ville et à la porte du lieu qu’il habite.
20 Ils diront aux anciens de sa ville: Voici notre fils qui est indocile et rebelle, qui n’écoute pas notre voix, et qui se livre à des excès et à l’ivrognerie.
21 Et tous les hommes de sa ville le lapideront, et il mourra. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu de toi, afin que tout Israël entende et craigne.
22 Si l’on fait mourir un homme qui a commis un crime digne de mort, et que tu l’aies pendu à un bois,
23 son cadavre ne passera point la nuit sur le bois; mais tu l’enterreras le jour même, car celui qui est pendu est un objet de malédiction auprès de Dieu, et tu ne souilleras point le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne pour héritage.

Deuteronomy 21
1 If one be found slain in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him:
2 Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:
3 And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;
4 And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer’s neck there in the valley:
5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the Lord; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:
6 And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:
7 And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
8 Be merciful, O Lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,
11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife;
12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.
15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:
16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:
17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
