1 Si nou koute Seyè a, Bondye nou an, si nou fè tou sa mwen ban nou lòd fè jòdi a, Seyè a va fè nou tounen nasyon ki pi gran pase tout lòt nasyon ki sou latè.
2 Wi, si nou koute Seyè a, Bondye nou an, men benediksyon l’ap vide sou nou:
3 Seyè a va beni nou lavil kou andeyò.
4 Seyè a va beni pitit nou yo, rekòt jaden nou yo, pòte bèf nou yo, pòte kabrit nou yo, pòte mouton nou yo ak pòte tout lòt bèt nou yo.
5 Seyè a va beni rekòt ble nou ak rekòt farin nou.
6 Seyè a va beni nou nan tou sa n’ap fè, depi nan mete men jouk nou bout.
7 Seyè a va fè nou kraze tout lènmi ki va atake nou. Lè y’ap vin sou nou, y’a mache ansanm sou yon sèl chemen. Men, y’a gaye toupatou lè y’ap kraze rak pou nou.
8 Seyè a va beni nou tout tan, l’a beni depo manje nou, l’a beni tou sa n’ap fè. L’a beni nou nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, va ban nou an.
9 Si nou fè tou sa Seyè a, Bondye nou an, mande nou fè, si nou viv jan li vle nou viv la, n’a yon pèp k’ap viv apa nèt pou Seyè a, Bondye nou an, jan l’ te fè nou pwomès la.
10 Lè sa a, tout pèp sou latè va wè Seyè a te chwazi nou pou pote non l’, y’a gen respè pou nou.
11 Seyè a va kouvri nou ak benediksyon, l’a ban nou anpil pitit, anpil bèt ak anpil rekòt nan peyi Seyè a te pwomèt zansèt nou yo l’ap ban nou an.
12 L’a rete nan syèl la, l’a louvri trezò li, l’a voye lapli sou peyi a lè sezon an va rive, l’a beni tout travay n’ap fè. N’a gen pou nou prete tout moun. Nou p’ap janm bezwen mande pesonn prete.
13 Seyè a va mete nou devan, nou p’ap janm dèyè. N’a toujou anwo, nou p’ap janm anba, depi nou swiv tout lòd Seyè a, Bondye nou an, depi nou fè tou sa mwen mande nou fè jòdi a,
14 san nou pa janm kite chemen li mete devan nou an pou n’ ale dèyè lòt bondye pou nou sèvi yo.
15 Men tou, si nou pa koute Seyè a, Bondye nou an, si nou pa fè tou sa mwen ban nou lòd fè jòdi a, si nou pa swiv regleman mwen ban nou yo, men madichon l’ap ban nou epi k’ap tonbe sou nou:
16 Madichon Bondye va tonbe sou nou nan lavil kou andeyò.
17 Madichon Bondye va tonbe sou rekòt ble nou ak sou rekòt farin nou.
18 Madichon Bondye va tonbe sou pitit nou yo, sou rekòt jaden nou yo, sou pòte bèf, pòte kabrit ak pòte mouton nou yo.
19 Madichon Bondye va tonbe sou tou sa n’ap fè, depi nan mete men jouk nou bout.
20 Si nou fè bagay ki mal, si nou vire do bay Seyè a, l’ap voye tout kalite madichon sou nou: Nou p’ap konn sa pou n’ fè, n’a gen kè sere nan tou sa n’ap fè jouk n’a rete konsa n’a fin disparèt nèt, paske nou te fè bagay ki mal, nou te vire do ba li.
21 Seyè a ap voye yon sèl move maladi po k’ap fini nèt ak nou nan peyi nou pral pran pou nou an.
22 L’ap voye sou nou epidemi, move lafyèb, maladi anfle, chalè pou toufe moun, jouk n’a mouri. L’a voye chechrès, vèmen ak pichon pou detwi rekòt nou yo. Malè sa yo va tonbe sou nou jouk n’a fin disparèt nèt.
23 Syèl la p’ap bay yon degout lapli menm. Tè a va vin di kou wòch.
24 Nan plas lapli, Seyè a va fè pousyè tè ak sab kouvri nou jouk nou mouri.
25 L’a fè lènmi nou yo bat nou. N’a pran yon sèl chemen ansanm pou n’ atake yo. Men, n’a gaye toupatou lè n’a pran rak devan yo. Tout moun sou latè pral mete men nan tèt lè y’a wè sa ki rive nou.
26 Lè n’a mouri, se zwazo ak bèt nan bwa ki pral manje kadav nou yo san p’ap gen pesonn pou pouse yo ale.
27 Seyè a va fè bouton leve sou tout kò nou, menm jan li te fè moun peyi Lejip yo, n’a gen apse, lagal, pyas, epi nou p’ap ka jwenn gerizon pou maladi po sa yo.
28 Seyè a va fè nou pèdi tèt nou, nou p’ap konprann sa n’ap fè, nou p’ap konnen kote pou n’ mete kò nou.
29 Gwo midi, n’a tatonnen tankou avèg k’ap mache nan fènwa. Nou p’ap jwenn rannman nan ankenn travay n’ap fè. Tout tan moun ap malmennen nou, y’ap vòlè nou, lèfini p’ap gen pesonn pou pote nou sekou.
30 N’a fiyanse ak yon fi, men se yon lòt gason ki va kouche ak li. N’a bati yon kay, men nou p’ap janm rete ladan l’. N’a plante yon jaden rezen, men nou p’ap janm jwi l’.
31 Y’a touye bèf nou yo la devan je nou, men nou p’ap ka mete yon ti moso nan vyann li nan bouch nou. Y’ap pran bourik nou nan bab nou al avè l’, yo p’ap janm renmèt nou li. Y’a bay lènmi nou yo tout mouton nou yo, epi p’ap gen pesonn pou pote nou sekou.
32 N’a wè ak je nou y’ap pran pitit gason ak pitit fi nou yo bay moun lòt nasyon. Tout lè n’a anvi wè yo ankò, men p’ap gen anyen nou ka fè pou sa.
33 Moun nou pa janm konnen va manje tou sa ki nan jaden nou ak tout pwofi travay nou. Se tout tan y’a malmennen nou, y’a maltrete nou.
34 Lè n’a wè tout bagay sa yo rive nou, n’a pèdi tèt nou!
35 Seyè a va ban nou yon sèl malenng nan jenou ak sou kwis janm nou ki p’ap janm geri. Bouton ap parèt sou tout kò nou, depi nan pye jouk nan tèt.
36 Seyè a pral depòte nou ansanm ak tout wa nou te mete alatèt nou, nan yon peyi etranje ni nou menm ni zansèt nou yo pa t’ janm konnen. Lè n’a rive la, n’a sèvi zidòl fèt an bwa ak zidòl fèt ak wòch.
37 Nan tout peyi kote Seyè a pral gaye nou yo, moun pral sezi wè sa ki rive nou, y’a pase nou anba kont betiz, y’a fè chante sou nou.
38 N’a plante anpil grenn nan jaden nou, men n’a rekòlte yon ti kras, paske krikèt va manje pifò.
39 N’a plante jaden rezen, n’a okipe yo byen. Men, nou p’ap jwenn rezen ni pou nou rekòlte, ni pou fè diven pou nou bwè, paske vèmen va fin manje tout.
40 Pye oliv va pouse toupatou nan peyi nou an, men nou p’ap gen yon ti degout lwil oliv, paske tout grenn oliv yo ap koule.
41 N’a fè pitit fi ak pitit gason, men yo p’ap pou nou, paske lènmi nou yo ap fè yo prizonye, y’ap depòte yo.
42 Krikèt pral manje tout pyebwa nou yo ak tout ti plant ki nan jaden nou yo.
43 Moun lòt nasyon k’ap viv nan mitan nou va vin pi fò pase nou. Nou menm, chak jou, n’a pèdi fil.
44 Se yo menm ki va gen lajan pou yo prete nou. Nou menm nou p’ap gen anyen pou n’ prete yo. Se yo ki va devan, nou menm nou pral dèyè nèt.
45 Tout giyon sa yo va tonbe sou nou. Kote nou pase y’a pase dèyè nou. Y’a rete sou nou jouk y’a fini nèt ak nou. Tou sa, paske nou pa t’ koute sa Seyè a, Bondye nou an, di nou, nou pa t’ fè tou sa li te mande nou fè nan lòd ak regleman li te ban nou yo.
46 Madichon sa yo va sèvi ni pou nou ni pou pitit nou yo pou moutre nou kalite mèvèy ak mirak Bondye ka fè.
47 Bondye te ban nou tou sa nou te bezwen. Men malgre sa, nou pa t’ sèvi l’ tout bon ak kè kontan.
48 Se poutèt sa, nou pral sèvi lènmi Seyè a pral voye sou nou. Nou pral soufri grangou, swaf dlo, toutouni, dizèt ak tout kalite mizè. Seyè a pral fè lènmi yo kraze nou anba men yo, jouk y’a fini nèt ak nou.
49 Seyè a pral mennen yon nasyon soti byen lwen nan dènye bout latè, yon nasyon ki pale yon lang nou p’ap konprann, yo pral vare sou nou tankou malfini sou poul.
50 Se moun ki gen kè di. Yo p’ap respekte vye granmoun, ni yo p’ap gen pitye pou timoun.
51 Y’a manje pwofi bèt nou yo, ak rekòt jaden nou yo jouk y’a kite nou mouri grangou. Yo p’ap kite anyen pou nou, ni farin, ni diven, ni lwil, ni pòte bèf nou yo ni pòte mouton nou yo, jouk y’a fini nèt ak nou.
52 Y’a atake nou. Y’a sènen tout lavil nou yo, jouk y’a fin kraze gwo miray byen wo ki te sèvi nou ranpa, miray nou te kwè ki ta ka toujou pwoteje nou yo. Wi, y’a fèmen nou, y’a sènen tout lavil nou yo, toupatou nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te fè nou kado a.
53 Lè lènmi nou yo va sènen nou nan lavil nou yo, y’a mete nou nan yon sèl kalite mizè ak kè sere, n’a sitèlman grangou, n’a manje pwòp pitit nou yo, pitit gason ak pitit fi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te ban nou.
54 Menm moun nou konnen ki pi bon nan mitan nou an, moun ki pa janm nan kont ak pesonn lan, enben menm li menm, l’a fèmen kè l’, li p’ap konn frè, li p’ap konn madanm li te renmen an, ni ankenn pitit nan sa ki rete l’ yo,
55 pou li pa bay pesonn nan vyann pitit li l’ap manje a, paske ak lènmi k’ap sènen nou nan lavil nou yo, ap gen yon sèl mizè ak kè sere nan mitan lavil nou yo, ata li menm, l’a sitèlman grangou, l’a blije manje pwòp pitit li, epi li p’ap bay pesonn ladan l’.
56 Menm fanm nou konnen ki pi bon moun nan mitan nou an, fanm ki pa ta janm ap mache nan lari tèlman li gen bon jan ak bon levasyon an, li va fèmen kè l’, li p’ap konn ni mari li renmen anpil la, ni pitit fi, ni pitit gason.
57 Pou li pa separe ak yo, l’a kache kò l’ pou yo pa wè l’ lè l’ap manje pitit li fenk fè a, ansanm ak tout manman vant lan. Paske, avèk lènmi k’ap sènen nou nan lavil nou yo, ap gen yon sèl mizè ak kè sere, p’ap gen anyen pou manje. Lè sa a, l’a kache kò l’ pou l’ pa bay yo anyen nan sa l’ap manje a.
58 Si nou pa swiv tout regleman ki ekri nan liv lalwa sa a, si nou pa gen krentif pou Bondye nou an, Seyè ki gen anpil pouvwa a, Bondye moun fèt pou respekte a,
59 Seyè a va voye gwo malè sa yo sou nou ak sou pitit nou yo, l’a voye gwo epidemi ki pa tande rete, move maladi ki pa konn renmèd.
60 L’a voye sou nou ankò tout malè ki te tonbe sou moun peyi Lejip yo, malè ki te fè nou tranble yo. Nou p’ap janm ka soti anba yo.
61 Sa ki pi rèd ankò, Seyè a va voye sou nou tout kalite epidemi ak maladi yo pa pale nan liv lalwa Seyè a jouk la fini nèt avèk nou.
62 Epi nou menm, moun pèp Izrayèl yo, ki te anpil tankou zetwal ki nan syèl la, n’a tounen yon ti ponyen moun, paske nou pa t’ koute sa Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te di nou.
63 Menm jan Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te pran plezi pou l’ te fè nou byen, pou l’ te fè nou vin anpil la, se konsa tou l’a pran plezi pou l’ fè nou pèdi tout bagay, pou l’ fini nèt ak nou. L’a rache nou met deyò nan peyi kote nou pral antre a, peyi nou pral pran pou nou rete a.
64 Seyè a va gaye nou nan mitan tout nasyon ki toupatou sou latè. Lè n’a rive la, n’a sèvi lòt bondye ni zansèt nou yo, ni nou menm nou pa t’ janm tande pale, zidòl fèt an bwa, zidòl fèt ak wòch.
65 Antan n’ap viv nan mitan lòt nasyon sa yo, nou p’ap janm gen kè poze, nou p’ap janm ka rete yon sèl kote. Seyè a va fè nou viv ak kè sote, nan lapenn ak dekourajman.
66 Lavi nou ap toujou an danje. Lajounen kou lannwit, n’ap nan laperèz, n’ap pè pou lanmò pa pran nou.
67 Devan bagay n’a wè k’ap pase devan je nou, n’a gen yon sèl laperèz nan kè nou, kè nou va bat bip-bip! Chak maten n’a mande kilè aswè va rive. Chak aswè n’a mande kilè la jou.
68 Seyè a va fè nou tounen nan peyi Lejip nan bato, atout se li menm ki te pwomèt nou pa t’ap janm tounen la ankò. N’ aval vann tèt nou bay lènmi nou yo pou nou sèvi yo esklav, men pesonn p’ap vle achte nou.

Deuteronome 28
1 Si tu obéis à la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, en observant et en mettant en pratique tous ses commandements que je te prescris aujourd’hui, l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donnera la supériorité sur toutes les nations de la terre.
2 Voici toutes les bénédictions qui se répandront sur toi et qui seront ton partage, lorsque tu obéiras à la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu:
3 Tu seras béni dans la ville, et tu seras béni dans les champs.
4 Le fruit de tes entrailles, le fruit de ton sol, le fruit de tes troupeaux, les portées de ton gros et de ton menu bétail, toutes ces choses seront bénies.
5 Ta corbeille et ta huche seront bénies.
6 Tu seras béni à ton arrivée, et tu seras béni à ton départ.
7 L’Éternel te donnera la victoire sur tes ennemis qui s’élèveront contre toi; ils sortiront contre toi par un seul chemin, et ils s’enfuiront devant toi par sept chemins.
8 L’Éternel ordonnera à la bénédiction d’être avec toi dans tes greniers et dans toutes tes entreprises. Il te bénira dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne.
9 Tu seras pour l’Éternel un peuple saint, comme il te l’a juré, lorsque tu observeras les commandements de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et que tu marcheras dans ses voies.
10 Tous les peuples verront que tu es appelé du nom de l’Éternel, et ils te craindront.
11 L’Éternel te comblera de biens, en multipliant le fruit de tes entrailles, le fruit de tes troupeaux et le fruit de ton sol, dans le pays que l’Éternel a juré à tes pères de te donner.
12 L’Éternel t’ouvrira son bon trésor, le ciel, pour envoyer à ton pays la pluie en son temps et pour bénir tout le travail de tes mains; tu prêteras à beaucoup de nations, et tu n’emprunteras point.
13 L’Éternel fera de toi la tête et non la queue, tu seras toujours en haut et tu ne seras jamais en bas, lorsque tu obéiras aux commandements de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, que je te prescris aujourd’hui, lorsque tu les observeras et les mettras en pratique,
14 et que tu ne te détourneras ni à droite ni à gauche de tous les commandements que je vous donne aujourd’hui, pour aller après d’autres dieux et pour les servir.
15 Mais si tu n’obéis point à la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, si tu n’observes pas et ne mets pas en pratique tous ses commandements et toutes ses lois que je te prescris aujourd’hui, voici toutes les malédictions qui viendront sur toi et qui seront ton partage:
16 Tu seras maudit dans la ville, et tu seras maudit dans les champs.
17 Ta corbeille et ta huche seront maudites.
18 Le fruit de tes entrailles, le fruit de ton sol, les portées de ton gros et de ton menu bétail, toutes ces choses seront maudites.
19 Tu seras maudit à ton arrivée, et tu seras maudit à ton départ.
20 L’Éternel enverra contre toi la malédiction, le trouble et la menace, au milieu de toutes les entreprises que tu feras, jusqu’à ce que tu sois détruit, jusqu’à ce que tu périsses promptement, à cause de la méchanceté de tes actions, qui t’aura porté à m’abandonner.
21 L’Éternel attachera à toi la peste, jusqu’à ce qu’elle te consume dans le pays dont tu vas entrer en possession.
22 L’Éternel te frappera de consomption, de fièvre, d’inflammation, de chaleur brûlante, de dessèchement, de jaunisse et de gangrène, qui te poursuivront jusqu’à ce que tu périsses.
23 Le ciel sur ta tête sera d’airain, et la terre sous toi sera de fer.
24 L’Éternel enverra pour pluie à ton pays de la poussière et de la poudre; il en descendra du ciel sur toi jusqu’à ce que tu sois détruit.
25 L’Éternel te fera battre par tes ennemis; tu sortiras contre eux par un seul chemin, et tu t’enfuiras devant eux par sept chemins; et tu seras un objet d’effroi pour tous les royaumes de la terre.
26 Ton cadavre sera la pâture de tous les oiseaux du ciel et des bêtes de la terre; et il n’y aura personne pour les troubler.
27 L’Éternel te frappera de l’ulcère d’Égypte, d’hémorroïdes, de gale et de teigne, dont tu ne pourras guérir.
28 L’Éternel te frappera de délire, d’aveuglement, d’égarement d’esprit,
29 et tu tâtonneras en plein midi comme l’aveugle dans l’obscurité, tu n’auras point de succès dans tes entreprises, et tu seras tous les jours opprimé, dépouillé, et il n’y aura personne pour venir à ton secours.
30 Tu auras une fiancée, et un autre homme couchera avec elle; tu bâtiras une maison, et tu ne l’habiteras pas; tu planteras une vigne, et tu n’en jouiras pas.
31 Ton boeuf sera égorgé sous tes yeux, et tu n’en mangeras pas; ton âne sera enlevé devant toi, et on ne te le rendra pas; tes brebis seront données à tes ennemis, et il n’y aura personne pour venir à ton secours.
32 Tes fils et tes filles seront livrés à un autre peuple, tes yeux le verront et languiront tout le jour après eux, et ta main sera sans force.
33 Un peuple que tu n’auras point connu mangera le fruit de ton sol et tout le produit de ton travail, et tu seras tous les jours opprimé et écrasé.
34 Le spectacle que tu auras sous les yeux te jettera dans le délire.
35 L’Éternel te frappera aux genoux et aux cuisses d’un ulcère malin dont tu ne pourras guérir, il te frappera depuis la plante du pied jusqu’au sommet de la tête.
36 L’Éternel te fera marcher, toi et ton roi que tu auras établi sur toi, vers une nation que tu n’auras point connue, ni toi ni tes pères. Et là, tu serviras d’autres dieux, du bois et de la pierre.
37 Et tu seras un sujet d’étonnement, de sarcasme et de raillerie, parmi tous les peuples chez qui l’Éternel te mènera.
38 Tu transporteras sur ton champ beaucoup de semence; et tu feras une faible récolte, car les sauterelles la dévoreront.
39 Tu planteras des vignes et tu les cultiveras; et tu ne boiras pas de vin et tu ne feras pas de récolte, car les vers la mangeront.
40 Tu auras des oliviers dans toute l’étendue de ton pays; et tu ne t’oindras pas d’huile, car tes olives tomberont.
41 Tu engendreras des fils et des filles; et ils ne seront pas à toi, car ils iront en captivité.
42 Les insectes prendront possession de tous tes arbres et du fruit de ton sol.
43 L’étranger qui sera au milieu de toi s’élèvera toujours plus au-dessus de toi, et toi, tu descendras toujours plus bas;
44 il te prêtera, et tu ne lui prêteras pas; il sera la tête, et tu seras la queue.
45 Toutes ces malédictions viendront sur toi, elles te poursuivront et seront ton partage jusqu’à ce que tu sois détruit, parce que tu n’auras pas obéi à la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, parce que tu n’auras pas observé ses commandements et ses lois qu’il te prescrit.
46 Elles seront à jamais pour toi et pour tes descendants comme des signes et des prodiges.
47 Pour n’avoir pas, au milieu de l’abondance de toutes choses, servi l’Éternel, ton Dieu, avec joie et de bon coeur,
48 tu serviras, au milieu de la faim, de la soif, de la nudité et de la disette de toutes choses, tes ennemis que l’Éternel enverra contre toi. Il mettra un joug de fer sur ton cou, jusqu’à ce qu’il t’ait détruit.
49 L’Éternel fera partir de loin, des extrémités de la terre, une nation qui fondra sur toi d’un vol d’aigle, une nation dont tu n’entendras point la langue,
50 une nation au visage farouche, et qui n’aura ni respect pour le vieillard ni pitié pour l’enfant.
51 Elle mangera le fruit de tes troupeaux et le fruit de ton sol, jusqu’à ce que tu sois détruit; elle ne te laissera ni blé, ni moût, ni huile, ni portées de ton gros et de ton menu bétail, jusqu’à ce qu’elle t’ait fait périr.
52 Elle t’assiégera dans toutes tes portes, jusqu’à ce que tes murailles tombent, ces hautes et fortes murailles sur lesquelles tu auras placé ta confiance dans toute l’étendue de ton pays; elle t’assiégera dans toutes tes portes, dans tout le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne.
53 Au milieu de l’angoisse et de la détresse où te réduira ton ennemi, tu mangeras le fruit de tes entrailles, la chair de tes fils et de tes filles que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’aura donnés.
54 L’homme d’entre vous le plus délicat et le plus habitué à la mollesse aura un oeil sans pitié pour son frère, pour la femme qui repose sur son sein, pour ceux de ses enfants qu’il a épargnés;
55 il ne donnera à aucun d’eux de la chair de ses enfants dont il fait sa nourriture, parce qu’il ne lui reste plus rien au milieu de l’angoisse et de la détresse où te réduira ton ennemi dans toutes tes portes.
56 La femme d’entre vous la plus délicate et la plus habituée à la mollesse et par délicatesse n’essayait pas de poser à terre la plante de son pied, aura un oeil sans pitié pour le mari qui repose sur son sein, pour son fils et pour sa fille;
57 elle ne leur donnera rien de l’arrière-faix sorti d’entre ses pieds et des enfants qu’elle mettra au monde, car, manquant de tout, elle en fera secrètement sa nourriture au milieu de l’angoisse et de la détresse où te réduira ton ennemi dans tes portes.
58 Si tu n’observes pas et ne mets pas en pratique toutes les paroles de cette loi, écrites dans ce livre, si tu ne crains pas ce nom glorieux et redoutable de l’Éternel, ton Dieu,
59 l’Éternel te frappera miraculeusement, toi et ta postérité, par des plaies grandes et de longue durée, par des maladies graves et opiniâtres.
60 Il amènera sur toi toutes les maladies d’Égypte, devant lesquelles tu tremblais; et elles s’attacheront à toi.
61 Et même, l’Éternel fera venir sur toi, jusqu’à ce que tu sois détruit, toutes sortes de maladies et de plaies qui ne sont point mentionnées dans le livre de cette loi.
62 Après avoir été aussi nombreux que les étoiles du ciel, vous ne resterez qu’un petit nombre, parce que tu n’auras point obéi à la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu.
63 De même que l’Éternel prenait plaisir à vous faire du bien et à vous multiplier, de même l’Éternel prendra plaisir à vous faire périr et à vous détruire; et vous serez arrachés du pays dont tu vas entrer en possession.
64 L’Éternel te dispersera parmi tous les peuples, d’une extrémité de la terre à l’autre; et là, tu serviras d’autres dieux que n’ont connus ni toi, ni tes pères, du bois et de la pierre.
65 Parmi ces nations, tu ne seras pas tranquille, et tu n’auras pas un lieu de repos pour la plante de tes pieds. L’Éternel rendra ton coeur agité, tes yeux languissants, ton âme souffrante.
66 Ta vie sera comme en suspens devant toi, tu trembleras la nuit et le jour, tu douteras de ton existence.
67 Dans l’effroi qui remplira ton coeur et en présence de ce que tes yeux verront, tu diras le matin: Puisse le soir être là! et tu diras le soir: Puisse le matin être là!
68 Et l’Éternel te ramènera sur des navires en Égypte, et tu feras ce chemin dont je t’avais dit: Tu ne le reverras plus! Là, vous vous offrirez en vente à vos ennemis, comme esclaves et comme servantes; et il n’y aura personne pour vous acheter.

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
20 The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21 The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22 The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24 The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25 The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27 The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28 The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35 The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36 The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.
38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, The Lord Thy God;
59 Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.
63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
