1 David reyini tout chèf lamè a, ni sa ki te alatèt rejiman mil (1000) sòlda yo ni sa ki te alatèt divizyon san sòlda yo, li pran konsèy nan men yo.
2 Lèfini, David di pèp Izrayèl la: -Si nou wè se yon bon lide, si se volonte Seyè a, Bondye nou an, nou pral voye misyon bay tout frè nou yo ki rete toupatou nan tout peyi a, bay tout prèt yo ak tout moun Levi yo nan lavil kote yo rete ak nan savann kote yo fè gadinaj, pou yo vin mete tèt yo ansanm ak nou,
3 pou n’ al chache Bwat Kontra Bondye nou an, paske nou te bliye l’ pandan tout rèy Sayil la.
4 Tout pèp la te dakò pou yo te fè sa, paske yo wè se te yon bon lide.
5 Se konsa, David reyini tout pèp Izrayèl la nan tout peyi a, depi kannal Sikò sou fwontyè ak peyi Lejip la rive jouk Pas Amat la, pou y’ al chache Bwat Kontra a lavil Kiriyat-Jarim.
6 Se konsa li pati avèk tout pèp Izrayèl la, pou lavil Kiriyat-Jarim yo te rele Baala tou, nan peyi Jida, pou y’ al chache Bwat Kontra Bondye a, bwat ki pote non Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Seyè ki gen fotèy li anwo zanj cheriben yo.
7 Lè yo rive kay Abinadab, yo pran Bwat la, yo mete l’ sou yon kabwa tou nèf. Ouza ak Akijo t’ap mennen kabwa a.
8 David ansanm ak tout moun Izrayèl yo menm t’ap danse ak tout nanm yo. Yo t’ap chante fè lwanj Seyè a, yo t’ap jwe gita ak bandjo, yo t’ap bat tanbouren ak senbal, yo t’ap kònen twonpèt.
9 Lè yo rive bò glasi Kidon an, bèf yo bite, yo manke tonbe. Ouza lonje men l’ pou kenbe Bwat Kontra a.
10 Men, Seyè a move sou Ouza, li touye l’ frèt, paske li pa t’ dwe manyen Bwat Kontra a. Bondye touye l’, Ouza mouri la menm devan Bondye.
11 David menm te fache dèske Seyè a te touye Ouza. Se konsa yo rele kote sa a Perèz-Ouza. Non sa a rete jouk jounen jòdi a.
12 Lè sa a, David vin pè Seyè a, li di konsa: -M’ pa wè ki jan pou m’ pran Bwat Kontra a avè m’ koulye a!
13 Se konsa, li pran desizyon pa pote Bwat Kontra Seyè a lakay li nan lavil David. Li fè yo pote l’ kay Obèd-Edon, yon moun lavil Gat.
14 Bwat la pase twa mwa lakay Obèd-Edon, Seyè a te beni fanmi Obèd-Edon ak tout bagay ki te pou yo.

1 David tint conseil avec les chefs de milliers et de centaines, avec tous les princes.
2 Et David dit à toute l’assemblée d’Israël: Si vous le trouvez bon, et si cela vient de l’Éternel, notre Dieu, envoyons de tous côtés vers nos frères qui restent dans toutes les contrées d’Israël, et aussi vers les sacrificateurs et les Lévites dans les villes où sont leurs banlieues, afin qu’ils se réunissent à nous,
3 et ramenons auprès de nous l’arche de notre Dieu, car nous ne nous en sommes pas occupés du temps de Saül.
4 Toute l’assemblée décida de faire ainsi, car la chose parut convenable à tout le peuple.
5 David assembla tout Israël, depuis le Schichor d’Égypte jusqu’à l’entrée de Hamath, pour faire venir de Kirjath Jearim l’arche de Dieu.
6 Et David, avec tout Israël, monta à Baala, à Kirjath Jearim, qui est à Juda, pour faire monter de là l’arche de Dieu, devant laquelle est invoqué le nom de l’Éternel qui réside entre les chérubins.
7 Ils mirent sur un char neuf l’arche de Dieu, qu’ils emportèrent de la maison d’Abinadab: Uzza et Achjo conduisaient le char.
8 David et tout Israël dansaient devant Dieu de toute leur force, en chantant, et en jouant des harpes, des luths, des tambourins, des cymbales et des trompettes.
9 Lorsqu’ils furent arrivés à l’aire de Kidon, Uzza étendit la main pour saisir l’arche, parce que les boeufs la faisaient pencher.
10 La colère de l’Éternel s’enflamma contre Uzza, et l’Éternel le frappa parce qu’il avait étendu la main sur l’arche. Uzza mourut là, devant Dieu.
11 David fut irrité de ce que l’Éternel avait frappé Uzza d’un tel châtiment. Et ce lieu a été appelé jusqu’à ce jour Pérets Uzza.
12 David eut peur de Dieu en ce jour-là, et il dit: Comment ferais-je entrer chez moi l’arche de Dieu?
13 David ne retira pas l’arche chez lui dans la cité de David, et il la fit conduire dans la maison d’Obed Édom de Gath.
14 L’arche de Dieu resta trois mois dans la maison d’Obed Édom, dans sa maison. Et l’Éternel bénit la maison d’Obed Édom et tout ce qui lui appartenait.

1 Chronicles 13
1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
2 And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the Lord our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.
4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.
6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.
7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
10 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
11 And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.
12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.
