1 Yon jou repo, Jezi te al lakay yonn nan chèf farizyen yo pou l’ manje. Moun ki te la yo t’ap veye li.
2 Yon nonm ki te gen maladi anfle te la devan Jezi.
3 Jezi pran lapawòl, li mande dirèkte lalwa ak farizyen yo: Eske lalwa pèmèt moun fè gerizon jou repo a, wi ou non?
4 Yo pa reponn li. Lè sa a, Jezi pran nonm malad la, li geri l’, epi li voye l’ ale.
5 Apre sa, li di yo: Si yonn nan nou gen yon pitit gason l’ osinon yon bèf li ki tonbe nan yon pi yon jou repo, èske li p’ap wete l’ menm lè a?
6 Yo pa t’ kapab reponn li anyen sou sa.
7 Jezi te wè ki jan moun yo te envite yo t’ap chwazi pi bon plas. Li rakonte parabòl sa a pou yo tout, li di:
8 Lè yo envite ou nan yon nòs, pa al chita nan pi bon plas la. Paske, si nan envite yo gen yon moun ki pi enpòtan pase ou,
9 moun ki envite nou toulède a kapab vin di ou: Bay moun sa a plas la. Lè sa a, wa wont, wa blije al chita nan plas dèyè.
10 Men, lè yo envite ou, mete kò ou dèyè; konsa, lè moun ki envite ou la vini, la ka di ou: Zanmi mwen, pase pi devan nan yon pi bon plas. Lè sa a, se va yon lwanj pou ou devan tout moun ki chita bò tab la ansanm ak ou yo.
11 Se konsa, moun ki vle leve tèt li, y’a desann li, moun ki desann tèt li, y’a leve li.
12 Jezi pale ak moun ki te envite l’ la. Li di li: Lè w’ap fè yon fèt, piti ou gwo, pa envite ni zanmi ou, ni frè ou, ni fanmi ou, ni vwazen ou yo ki rich. Paske, yon lè y’a envite ou tou. Konsa, se tankou si yo ta renmèt ou sa ou te fè a.
13 Men, lè w’ap fè yon fèt, envite pòv yo, enfim yo, moun k’ap bwete, moun avèg yo.
14 Konsa, se va yon benediksyon, paske yo p’ap kapab rann ou laparèy. Se Bondye ki va renmèt ou sa lè tout moun ki fè byen yo va leve soti vivan nan lanmò.
15 Lè l’ tande pawòl sa yo, yonn nan moun ki te chita bò tab la di Jezi konsa: Se va yon gwo benediksyon pou moun ki va chita bò tab pou manje nan peyi kote Bondye Wa a.
16 Jezi reponn li: Vwala, se te yon nonm ki te fè yon gwo fèt, li te envite anpil moun.
17 Lè pou fèt la kòmanse, li voye domestik li di envite yo: Vini non, tout bagay fin pare koulye a.
18 Men, tout envite yo, yonn apre lòt, pran fè eskiz. Premye a di li: Mwen fèk achte yon tè, fòk m’ al wè li. Tanpri, eskize mwen.
19 Yon lòt di li: Mwen fèk achte senk pè bèf; mwen pral seye yo. Tanpri, eskize mwen.
20 Yon lòt di: Mwen fèk sot marye, se poutèt sa mwen pa ka ale.
21 Domestik la tounen, li rapòte tout repons sa yo bay mèt li. Lè sa a, mèt kay la vin ankòlè; li di domestik la: Ale vit sou tout plas yo ak nan tout lari, mennen tout pòv yo vin isit, tout enfim yo, tout moun avèg ak moun k’ap bwete yo.
22 Apre sa, domestik la di: Mèt, nou fè tou sa ou te mande nou fè, men gen plas toujou.
23 Mèt la di domestik la: Ale nan gran chemen ak nan tout ti wout. Mezi moun wa jwenn, fè yo antre pou kay mwen an ka plen.
24 Paske, m’ap di nou sa: Nan moun mwen te envite yo, pa gen yon sèl ladan yo k’ap goute nan manje m’ lan.
25 Lè sa a, te gen anpil anpil moun ki t’ap fè wout ansanm ak Jezi. Li vire, li di yo:
26 Yon moun ki vin jwenn mwen, si li pa rayi papa l’, manman l’, pitit li, frè l’, sè l’, menm pwòp tèt pa l’, li pa kapab disip mwen.
27 Moun ki pa pote kwa l’ epi ki pa swiv mwen, li pa kapab disip mwen non plis.
28 Si yonn nan nou vle fè yon gwo batisman, premye bagay pou l’ fè: se pou l’ chita pou l’ kalkile konbe sa pral koute l’ pou l’ wè si li gen kont lajan pou l’ fin fè travay la.
29 Si l’ pa fè sa, l’ap fin poze fondasyon an, epi l’ p’ap ka fini batisman an. Lè sa a, tout moun ki va wè sa va pran pase l’ nan betiz.
30 Y’a di: Nonm lan kòmanse bati, men li pa kapab fini.
31 Konsa tou, si yon wa vle fè lagè ak yon lòt wa, premye bagay pou l’ fè: l’ap chita pou l’ egzaminen bagay la byen, pou l’ wè si, avèk dimil (10.000) òm, li kapab mache kontre lòt wa a k’ap mache sou li ak venmil (20.000) òm.
32 Si li pa kapab, antan lòt wa a lwen toujou, l’ap voye kèk mesaje bò kote l’ pou mande l’ fè aranjman.
33 Jezi di yo ankò: Konsa tou, nou yonn la a pa kab disip mwen, si l’ pa detache kè l’ sou tou sa l’ genyen.
34 Sèl, se yon bon bagay; men si sèl la pèdi gou l’, ak kisa pou n’ fè l’ sale ankò?
35 Lè sa a, sèl la pa bon pou mete ni nan jaden ni nan fimye, se jete pou yo voye sa jete. Si nou gen zòrèy pou n’ tande, tande.

Luc 14
1 Jésus étant entré, un jour de sabbat, dans la maison de l’un des chefs des pharisiens, pour prendre un repas, les pharisiens l’observaient.
2 Et voici, un homme hydropique était devant lui.
3 Jésus prit la parole, et dit aux docteurs de la loi et aux pharisiens: Est-il permis, ou non, de faire une guérison le jour du sabbat?
4 Ils gardèrent le silence. Alors Jésus avança la main sur cet homme, le guérit, et le renvoya.
5 Puis il leur dit: Lequel de vous, si son fils ou son boeuf tombe dans un puits, ne l’en retirera pas aussitôt, le jour du sabbat?
6 Et ils ne purent rien répondre à cela.
7 Il adressa ensuite une parabole aux conviés, en voyant qu’ils choisissaient les premières places; et il leur dit:
8 Lorsque tu seras invité par quelqu’un à des noces, ne te mets pas à la première place, de peur qu’il n’y ait parmi les invités une personne plus considérable que toi,
9 et que celui qui vous a invités l’un et l’autre ne vienne te dire: Cède la place à cette personne-là. Tu aurais alors la honte d’aller occuper la dernière place.
10 Mais, lorsque tu seras invité, va te mettre à la dernière place, afin que, quand celui qui t’a invité viendra, il te dise: Mon ami, monte plus haut. Alors cela te fera honneur devant tous ceux qui seront à table avec toi.
11 Car quiconque s’élève sera abaissé, et quiconque s’abaisse sera élevé.
12 Il dit aussi à celui qui l’avait invité: Lorsque tu donnes à dîner ou à souper, n’invite pas tes amis, ni tes frères, ni tes parents, ni des voisins riches, de peur qu’ils ne t’invitent à leur tour et qu’on ne te rende la pareille.
13 Mais, lorsque tu donnes un festin, invite des pauvres, des estropiés, des boiteux, des aveugles.
14 Et tu seras heureux de ce qu’ils ne peuvent pas te rendre la pareille; car elle te sera rendue à la résurrection des justes.
15 Un de ceux qui étaient à table, après avoir entendu ces paroles, dit à Jésus: Heureux celui qui prendra son repas dans le royaume de Dieu!
16 Et Jésus lui répondit: Un homme donna un grand souper, et il invita beaucoup de gens.
17 A l’heure du souper, il envoya son serviteur dire aux conviés: Venez, car tout est déjà prêt.
18 Mais tous unanimement se mirent à s’excuser. Le premier lui dit: J’ai acheté un champ, et je suis obligé d’aller le voir; excuse-moi, je te prie.
19 Un autre dit: J’ai acheté cinq paires de boeufs, et je vais les essayer; excuse-moi, je te prie.
20 Un autre dit: Je viens de me marier, et c’est pourquoi je ne puis aller.
21 Le serviteur, de retour, rapporta ces choses à son maître. Alors le maître de la maison irrité dit à son serviteur: Va promptement dans les places et dans les rues de la ville, et amène ici les pauvres, les estropiés, les aveugles et les boiteux.
22 Le serviteur dit: Maître, ce que tu as ordonné a été fait, et il y a encore de la place.
23 Et le maître dit au serviteur: Va dans les chemins et le long des haies, et ceux que tu trouveras, contrains-les d’entrer, afin que ma maison soit remplie.
24 Car, je vous le dis, aucun de ces hommes qui avaient été invités ne goûtera de mon souper.
25 De grandes foules faisaient route avec Jésus. Il se retourna, et leur dit:
26 Si quelqu’un vient à moi, et s’il ne hait pas son père, sa mère, sa femme, ses enfants, ses frères, et ses soeurs, et même à sa propre vie, il ne peut être mon disciple.
27 Et quiconque ne porte pas sa croix, et ne me suis pas, ne peut être mon disciple.
28 Car, lequel de vous, s’il veut bâtir une tour, ne s’assied d’abord pour calculer la dépense et voir s’il a de quoi la terminer,
29 de peur qu’après avoir posé les fondements, il ne puisse l’achever, et que tous ceux qui le verront ne se mettent à le railler,
30 en disant: Cet homme a commencé à bâtir, et il n’a pu achever?
31 Ou quel roi, s’il va faire la guerre à un autre roi, ne s’assied d’abord pour examiner s’il peut, avec dix mille hommes, marcher à la rencontre de celui qui vient l’attaquer avec vingt mille?
32 S’il ne le peut, tandis que cet autre roi est encore loin, il lui envoie une ambassade pour demander la paix.
33 Ainsi donc, quiconque d’entre vous ne renonce pas à tout ce qu’il possède ne peut être mon disciple.
34 Le sel est une bonne chose; mais si le sel perd sa saveur, avec quoi l’assaisonnera-t-on?
35 Il n’est bon ni pour la terre, ni pour le fumier; on le jette dehors. Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre entende.

1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
6 And they could not answer him again to these things.
7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them.
8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
