1 Se lè nou fin sove, nou vin konnen lil la te rele Malt.
2 Moun peyi a te aji byen anpil avèk nou. Lapli t’ap tonbe, te fè frèt anpil. Yo limen yon gwo boukan pou resevwa nou.
3 Pòl te ranmase yon ti pakèt fachin, li t’ap mete l’ nan dife a lè yon sèpan soti nan chalè dife a, li vlope nan men li.
4 Lè moun zile yo wè sèpan an pandye nan men Pòl, yonn t’ap di lòt: Gen lè nonm sa a se yon ansasen. Li chape nan nofraj la, epi men jistis Bondye ap pousib li toujou.
5 Pòl annik souke men l’, epi bèt la tonbe nan dife a. Li pa t’ santi anyen ankò.
6 Lòt moun yo menm t’ap tann pou yo wè Pòl vin anfle osinon pou l’ tonbe mouri frèt. Moun yo tann, yo tann. Lè yo wè anyen pa rive l’, yo chanje lide, yo di: Nonm sa a, se yon bondye.
7 Toupre bò la, te gen yon bitasyon ki te pou Pibliyis, pi grannèg nan lil la. Li resevwa nou ak kè kontan. Nou fè ladesant lakay li pandan twa jou.
8 Papa Pibliyis te kouche malad ak yon lafyèb ak dyare. Pòl antre ale wè l’, li lapriyè, li mete men l’ sou tèt li, li geri li.
9 Apre sa, tout lòt moun ki te malad nan lil la te vini tou. Yo tout te geri.
10 Yo fè nou anpil kado. Lè pou n’ anbake menm, yo ban nou tou sa nou te bezwen pou vwayaj la.
11 Apre twa mwa, nou pati nan yon batiman Aleksandri ki te pase tout tan fredi a nan lil la. Yo te rele batiman an Marasa.
12 Lè nou rive Sirakiz, nou rete la pandan twa jou.
13 Lè nou pati, nou lonje kòt la jouk nou rive Rijio. Nan denmen, yon van swèt leve: apre de jou vwayaj nou rive Pouzòl.
14 La, nou jwenn kèk frè ki mande pou n’ pase sèt jou ak yo. Se konsa nou rive lavil Wòm.
15 Frè lavil Wòm yo ki te pran nouvèl nou vin kontre nou jouk nan Mache Apiyis ak nan Kalfou Twa Kafe. Lè Pòl wè yo, li di Bondye mèsi, li pran kouraj.
16 Lè nou rive Wòm, yo kite Pòl rete pou kont li ak yon sèl sòlda pou veye li.
17 Apre twa jou, Pòl fè rele chèf jwif yo ki lavil Wòm. Lè yo reyini, li di yo: Frè m’ yo, san m’ pa fè anyen kont pèp la, ni kont koutim zansèt nou yo, jwif yo rete konsa, yo arete m’ lavil Jerizalèm, yo lage m’ nan men women yo.
18 Lè women yo fin keksyonnen m’, yo te vle lage m’ paske yo pa t’ jwenn okenn rezon ki pou ta fè m’ merite lanmò.
19 Men, jwif yo kenbe la ak yo. Mwen te blije mande pou Seza tande kòz mwen. Men, mwen menm pou tèt pa m’, mwen pa gen okenn plent pou m’ fè pou moun menm peyi avè m’ yo.
20 Se poutèt sa mwen fè rele nou pou m’ wè nou, pou m’ pale ak nou, pou m’ di nou se poutèt moun pèp Izrayèl t’ap tann lan kifè yo mare m’ ak chenn sa a.
21 Yo reponn li: Nou pa resevwa okenn lèt soti peyi Jide sou ou. Okenn frè pa soti laba vin isit pou ban nou nouvèl, ni pou pale mal sou ou.
22 Men, nou ta renmen tande kisa ou gen nan tèt ou, paske nou konnen toupatou yo pa vle wè gwoup ou fè pati a.
23 Yo fikse l’ yon jou. Lè sa a, yo te anpil ki te vin jwenn li kote li te ye a. Depi nan maten jouk nan aswè, Pòl t’ap ba yo esplikasyon: li t’ap fè yo konnen gouvènman Bondye ki wa a. Li pran lalwa Moyiz la ak liv pwofèt yo, li t’ap chache fè yo rekonèt ki moun Jezi ye.
24 Gen ladan yo ki te kwè sa l’ t’ap di yo. Men, gen lòt ki pa t’ vle kwè menm.
25 Yo vire do yo san yo pa t’ tonbe dakò. Lè Pòl wè sa, li ajoute pawòl sa a pou yo: Sentespri te gen rezon pale konsa ak zansèt nou yo nan bouch pwofèt Ezayi, lè l’ te di:
26 Ale jwenn pèp sa a, di l’ pou mwen: Pou tande n’a tande nan zòrèy nou, men nou p’ap konprann anyen. Pou gade n’a gade ak je nou, men nou p’ap wè.
27 Paske lespri pèp sa a vin lou, yo bouche zòrèy yo, yo fèmen je yo, pou yo pa wè ak je yo, pou yo pa tande nan zòrèy yo, pou yo pa konprann ak lespri yo, pou yo pa tounen vin jwenn mwen pou m’ geri yo. Se Bondye menm ki di sa.
28 Apre sa, Pòl di yo: Koulye a, nou fèt pou nou konnen Bondye fè moun lòt nasyon yo konnen l’ap delivre yo tou. Yo menm, y’ap tande li.
29 Lè l’ te fin di sa, jwif yo al fè wout yo, yo t’ap diskite yonn ak lòt.
30 Pòl te rete pandan dezan nan yon kay li te lwe. Li te resevwa tout moun ki te vin wè li.
31 Li t’ap fè konnen gouvènman Bondye ki wa a, li t’ap moutre moun yo tout bagay sou Jezikri, Seyè a, kareman san pesonn pa janm chache l’ kont.

Actes 28
1 Après nous être sauvés, nous reconnûmes que l’île s’appelait Malte.
2 Les barbares nous témoignèrent une bienveillance peu commune; ils nous recueillirent tous auprès d’un grand feu, qu’ils avaient allumé parce que la pluie tombait et qu’il faisait grand froid.
3 Paul ayant ramassé un tas de broussailles et l’ayant mis au feu, une vipère en sortit par l’effet de la chaleur et s’attacha à sa main.
4 Quand les barbares virent l’animal suspendu à sa main, ils se dirent les uns aux autres: Assurément cet homme est un meurtrier, puisque la Justice n’a pas voulu le laisser vivre, après qu’il a été sauvé de la mer.
5 Paul secoua l’animal dans le feu, et ne ressentit aucun mal.
6 Ces gens s’attendaient à le voir enfler ou tomber mort subitement; mais, après avoir longtemps attendu, voyant qu’il ne lui arrivait aucun mal, ils changèrent d’avis et dirent que c’était un dieu.
7 Il y avait, dans les environs, des terres appartenant au principal personnage de l’île, nommé Publius, qui nous reçut et nous logea pendant trois jours de la manière la plus amicale.
8 Le père de Publius était alors au lit, malade de la fièvre et de la dysenterie; Paul, s’étant rendu vers lui, pria, lui imposa les mains, et le guérit.
9 Là-dessus, vinrent les autres malades de l’île, et ils furent guéris.
10 On nous rendit de grands honneurs, et, à notre départ, on nous fournit les choses dont nous avions besoin.
11 Après un séjour de trois mois, nous nous embarquâmes sur un navire d’Alexandrie, qui avait passé l’hiver dans l’île, et qui portait pour enseigne les Dioscures.
12 Ayant abordé à Syracuse, nous y restâmes trois jours.
13 De là, en suivant la côte, nous atteignîmes Reggio; et, le vent du midi s’étant levé le lendemain, nous fîmes en deux jours le trajet jusqu’à Pouzzoles,
14 où nous trouvâmes des frères qui nous prièrent de passer sept jours avec eux. Et c’est ainsi que nous allâmes à Rome.
15 De Rome vinrent à notre rencontre, jusqu’au Forum d’Appius et aux Trois Tavernes, les frères qui avaient entendu parler de nous. Paul, en les voyant, rendit grâces à Dieu, et prit courage.
16 Lorsque nous fûmes arrivés à Rome, on permit à Paul de demeurer en son particulier, avec un soldat qui le gardait.
17 Au bout de trois jours, Paul convoqua les principaux des Juifs; et, quand ils furent réunis, il leur adressa ces paroles: Hommes frères, sans avoir rien fait contre le peuple ni contre les coutumes de nos pères, j’ai été mis en prison à Jérusalem et livré de là entre les mains des Romains.
18 Après m’avoir interrogé, ils voulaient me relâcher, parce qu’il n’y avait en moi rien qui méritât la mort.
19 Mais les Juifs s’y opposèrent, et j’ai été forcé d’en appeler à César, n’ayant du reste aucun dessein d’accuser ma nation.
20 Voilà pourquoi j’ai demandé à vous voir et à vous parler; car c’est à cause de l’espérance d’Israël que je porte cette chaîne.
21 Ils lui répondirent: Nous n’avons reçu de Judée aucune lettre à ton sujet, et il n’est venu aucun frère qui ait rapporté ou dit du mal de toi.
22 Mais nous voudrions apprendre de toi ce que tu penses, car nous savons que cette secte rencontre partout de l’opposition.
23 Ils lui fixèrent un jour, et plusieurs vinrent le trouver dans son logis. Paul leur annonça le royaume de Dieu, en rendant témoignage, et en cherchant, par la loi de Moïse et par les prophètes, à les persuader de ce qui concerne Jésus. L’entretien dura depuis le matin jusqu’au soir.
24 Les uns furent persuadés par ce qu’il disait, et les autres ne crurent point.
25 Comme ils se retiraient en désaccord, Paul n’ajouta que ces mots: C’est avec raison que le Saint Esprit, parlant à vos pères par le prophète Ésaïe, a dit:
26 Va vers ce peuple, et dis: Vous entendrez de vos oreilles, et vous ne comprendrez point; Vous regarderez de vos yeux, et vous ne verrez point.
27 Car le coeur de ce peuple est devenu insensible; Ils ont endurci leurs oreilles, et ils ont fermé leurs yeux, De peur qu’ils ne voient de leurs yeux, qu’ils n’entendent de leurs oreilles, Qu’ils ne comprennent de leur coeur, Qu’ils ne se convertissent, et que je ne les guérisse.
28 Sachez donc que ce salut de Dieu a été envoyé aux païens, et qu’ils l’écouteront.
29 Lorsqu’il eut dit cela, les Juifs s’en allèrent, discutant vivement entre eux.
30 Paul demeura deux ans entiers dans une maison qu’il avait louée. Il recevait tous ceux qui venaient le voir,
31 prêchant le royaume de Dieu et enseignant ce qui concerne le Seigneur Jésus Christ, en toute liberté et sans obstacle.

Acts 28
1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.
2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:
10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.
11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.
12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.
13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:
14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.
15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.
19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.
20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
