1 Jozafa te vin gen anpil richès, tout moun t’ap fè lwanj pou li. Li ranje yon maryaj ant yon moun nan fanmi l’ ak yon moun nan fanmi Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la.
2 Kèk lanne apre sa, Jozafa al rann Akab yon vizit lavil Samari. Lè sa a, Akab fè yon gwo fèt pou Jozafa ansanm ak moun ki te avè l’ yo. Li te fè touye yon pakèt mouton ak bèf pou fèt la. Lèfini, li chache pran tèt Jozafa pou yo al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad.
3 Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la, di Jozafa, wa peyi Jida a: -Eske w’ap vin avè m’ pou atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad la? Jozafa reponn li: -Mwen menm ak tout sòlda mwen yo, nou avè ou ansanm ak pèp ou a. Se yonn nou ye!
4 Apre sa, Jozafa di Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la: -Tanpri, annou mande Seyè a sa li di nan sa.
5 Se konsa, Akab reyini katsan (400) pwofèt li yo, li mande yo: -Eske se pou m’ al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad la, osinon èske se pou m’ kite sa? Pwofèt yo reponn li: -Atake l’, monwa! Seyè a ap lage l’ nan men ou!
6 Lè sa a, Jozafa di konsa: -Pa gen lòt pwofèt nou ta ka mande si se volonte Seyè a pou n’ al fè sa?
7 Akab reponn: -Gen yon lòt pwofèt ankò ki ta ka fè sa pou nou. Se Miche, pitit gason Jimla a. Men, m’ rayi l’, paske li pa janm di anyen ki bon pou mwen. Li toujou wè malè pou mwen. Jozafa reponn: -Pa di sa, monchè!
8 Se konsa Akab rele yonn nan nèg konfyans li yo, li di l’: -Prese al chache Miche, pitit gason Jimla a, pou mwen.
9 Wa peyi Izrayèl la ak Jozafa, wa peyi Jida a, te chita yo chak sou fotèy pa yo ak bèl rad wa yo sou yo, sou gwo glasi ki bò pòtay lavil Samari a sou deyò. Tout pwofèt yo te la devan yo ap bay mesaj pa yo.
10 Yonn ladan yo te rele Sedesyas. Se te pitit Kenana. Li fè fè de kòn an fè. Li di: -Men sa Seyè a di: Avèk kòn sa yo ou pral atake moun Siri yo. Ou pral fini ak yo.
11 Tout lòt pwofèt yo t’ap bay menm mesaj la tou. Yo t’ap di: -Ou mèt al atake Ramòt nan peyi Galarad. W’ap bon. Seyè a ap lage lavil la nan men ou.
12 Mesaje ki te pati al rele Miche a di Miche konsa: -Tout lòt pwofèt yo te pale an favè wa a. Ranje kò ou pou ou pale tankou yo tout. Pale an favè wa a.
13 Men, Miche reponn li: -Mwen pran Seyè a, Bondye vivan an, sèvi m’ temwen. Sa Seyè a va di m’ di se sa m’a di.
14 Lè Miche rive devan wa a, wa a di l’ konsa: -Miche, èske se pou m’ al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad, osinon èske se pou n’ kite sa? Miche reponn: -Ou mèt al atake Ramòt nan peyi Galarad. W’ap bon. Seyè a ap lage lavil la nan men ou.
15 Men, Akab di li: -Konbe fwa pou m’ di ou lè w’ap pale avè m’ nan non Seyè a, se pou ou di m’ laverite?
16 Lè sa a, Miche reponn li: -Mwen te wè tout sòlda pèp Izrayèl yo gaye toupatou sou mòn yo, tankou yon bann mouton san gadò. Seyè a te di: Moun sa yo san chèf. Kite yo tounen lakay yo ak kè poze.
17 Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la, di Jozafa: -Mwen pa t’ di ou li pa janm di anyen ki bon pou mwen. Li toujou wè malè pou mwen.
18 Miche pran lapawòl ankò, li di: -Bon! Koute mesaj Seyè a. Mwen te wè Seyè a chita sou fotèy li nan syèl la, avèk tout zanj li yo kanpe bò kote l’, sou bò dwat ak sou bò gòch li.
19 Seyè a t’ap mande ki moun ki vle al pran tèt Akab pou li al fè yo touye l’ lavil Ramòt. Gen zanj ki di yon bagay, gen lòt zanj ki di yon lòt bagay.
20 Se lè sa a, yon lespri vanse devan Seyè a, li di: Mwen pral pran tet li.
21 Seyè a mande l’: Ki jan? Lespri a reponn: Mwen pral mete pawòl manti nan bouch pwofèt Akab yo. Seyè a di l’: W’a pran tèt li vre konsa. Ou mèt al fè jan ou di a.
22 Koulye a, ou konnen Seyè a te mete yon lespri mantò sou pwofèt ou yo pou yo ba ou manti, paske li pran desizyon pou l’ fini avè ou.
23 Lè sa a, Sedesyas, pitit gason Kenana a, mache sou Miche, li flanke li yon souflèt. Epi li di l’: -Depi kilè lespri Bondye a kite m’ pou se nan bouch ou l’ap pale a?
24 Miche reponn li: -W’a konn sa lè w’a kouri pase sot nan yon chanm antre nan yon lòt pou al kache jouk nan fon.
25 Se konsa wa Akab pase yon lòd, li di: -Arete Miche. Mennen l’ bay Amon, gouvènè lavil la, ak Joas, pitit wa a.
26 Di yo mwen bay lòd pou yo mete l’ nan prizon, pou yo ba li renk pen ak dlo jouk m’a tounen soti nan lagè a san danje ak malè.
27 Lè sa a, Miche di: -Si ou tounen soti nan lagè a san danje ni malè vre, w’a konnen Seyè a pa t’ pale nan bouch mwen. Lèfini, li di: -Nou tout pèp yo, koute sa m’ di la a wi.
28 Se konsa Akab, wa peyi Izrayèl la, ansanm ak Jozafa, wa peyi Jida a, moute al atake lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad.
29 Akab di Jozafa konsa: -Mwen pral mete yon lòt rad sou mwen anvan m al goumen an, pou moun pa rekonèt mwen. Ou men, ou mèt mete rad wa ou sou ou. Se konsa wa peyi Izrayèl la chanje rad sou li pou moun pa rekonèt li. Apre sa, li al goumen.
30 Men, wa peyi Siri a te bay trannde chèf ki t’ap kòmande cha lagè yo lòd pou yo pa atake pesonn pase wa peyi Izrayèl la.
31 Se konsa, lè kòmandan cha lagè yo wè Jozafa, yo tout te konprann se li ki te wa peyi Izrayèl la. Yo vire sou li pou yo atake l’. Men, Jozafa rele anmwe. Bondye sèl mèt la vin pote l’ sekou, li fè yo vire kite l’.
32 Lè mesye yo wè se pa li menm ki te wa peyi Izrayèl la, yo rete sou sa yo te vle fè a.
33 Lè sa a, yon sòlda peyi Siri rete konsa li voye yon flèch. Flèch la al pran Akab, wa Izrayèl la, nan fant rad lagè ki te sou li a. Wa a di sòlda ki t’ap mennen cha li a: -Kase tèt tounen. Annou kite batay la, paske mwen blese grav.
34 Jou sa a, batay la te makònen anpil. Wa Akab menm te rete kanpe sou cha li a, l’ap gade moun peyi Siri yo jouk aswè. Lè solèy kouche li mouri.

1 Josaphat eut en abondance des richesses et de la gloire, et il s’allia par mariage avec Achab.
2 Au bout de quelques années, il descendit auprès d’Achab à Samarie; et Achab tua pour lui et pour le peuple qui était avec lui un grand nombre de brebis et de boeufs, et il le sollicita de monter à Ramoth en Galaad.
3 Achab, roi d’Israël, dit à Josaphat, roi de Juda: Veux-tu venir avec moi à Ramoth en Galaad? Josaphat lui répondit: Moi comme toi, et mon peuple comme ton peuple, nous irons l’attaquer avec toi.
4 Puis Josaphat dit au roi d’Israël: Consulte maintenant, je te prie, la parole de l’Éternel.
5 Le roi d’Israël assembla les prophètes, au nombre de quatre cents, et leur dit: Irons-nous attaquer Ramoth en Galaad, ou dois-je y renoncer? Et ils répondirent: Monte, et Dieu la livrera entre les mains du roi.
6 Mais Josaphat dit: N’y a-t-il plus ici aucun prophète de l’Éternel, par qui nous puissions le consulter?
7 Le roi d’Israël répondit à Josaphat: Il y a encore un homme par qui l’on pourrait consulter l’Éternel; mais je le hais, car il ne me prophétise rien de bon, il ne prophétise jamais que du mal: c’est Michée, fils de Jimla. Et Josaphat dit: Que le roi ne parle pas ainsi!
8 Alors le roi d’Israël appela un eunuque, et dit: Fais venir tout de suite Michée, fils de Jimla.
9 Le roi d’Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, étaient assis chacun sur son trône, revêtus de leurs habits royaux; ils étaient assis dans la place à l’entrée de la porte de Samarie. Et tous les prophètes prophétisaient devant eux.
10 Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s’était fait des cornes de fer, et il dit: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Avec ces cornes, tu frapperas les Syriens jusqu’à les détruire.
11 Et tous les prophètes prophétisèrent de même, en disant: Monte à Ramoth en Galaad! tu auras du succès, et l’Éternel la livrera entre les mains du roi.
12 Le messager qui était allé appeler Michée lui parla ainsi: Voici, les prophètes d’un commun accord prophétisent du bien au roi; que ta parole soit donc comme la parole de chacun d’eux! annonce du bien!
13 Michée répondit: L’Éternel est vivant! j’annoncerai ce que dira mon Dieu.
14 Lorsqu’il fut arrivé auprès du roi, le roi lui dit: Michée, irons-nous attaquer Ramoth en Galaad, ou dois-je y renoncer? Il répondit: Montez! vous aurez du succès, et ils seront livrés entre vos mains.
15 Et le roi lui dit: Combien de fois me faudra-t-il te faire jurer de ne me dire que la vérité au nom de l’Éternel?
16 Michée répondit: Je vois tout Israël dispersé sur les montagnes, comme des brebis qui n’ont point de berger; et l’Éternel dit: Ces gens n’ont point de maître, que chacun retourne en paix dans sa maison!
17 Le roi d’Israël dit à Josaphat: Ne te l’ai-je pas dit? Il ne prophétise sur moi rien de bon, il ne prophétise que du mal.
18 Et Michée dit: Écoutez donc la parole de l’Éternel! J’ai vu l’Éternel assis sur son trône, et toute l’armée des cieux se tenant à sa droite et à sa gauche.
19 Et l’Éternel dit: Qui séduira Achab, roi d’Israël, pour qu’il monte à Ramoth en Galaad et qu’il y périsse? Ils répondirent l’un d’une manière, l’autre d’une autre.
20 Et un esprit vint se présenter devant l’Éternel, et dit: Moi, je le séduirai.
21 L’Éternel lui dit: Comment? Je sortirai, répondit-il, et je serai un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous ses prophètes. L’Éternel dit: Tu le séduiras, et tu en viendras à bout; sors, et fais ainsi.
22 Et maintenant, voici, l’Éternel a mis un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tes prophètes qui sont là. Et l’Éternel a prononcé du mal contre toi.
23 Alors Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s’étant approché, frappa Michée sur la joue, et dit: Par quel chemin l’esprit de l’Éternel est-il sorti de moi pour te parler?
24 Michée répondit: Tu le verras au jour où tu iras de chambre en chambre pour te cacher.
25 Le roi d’Israël dit: Prenez Michée et emmenez-le vers Amon, chef de la ville, et vers Joas, fils du roi.
26 Vous direz: Ainsi parle le roi: Mettez cet homme en prison, et nourrissez-le du pain et de l’eau d’affliction, jusqu’à ce que je revienne en paix.
27 Et Michée dit: Si tu reviens en paix, l’Éternel n’a point parlé par moi. Il dit encore: Vous tous, peuples, entendez!
28 Le roi d’Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, montèrent à Ramoth en Galaad.
29 Le roi d’Israël dit à Josaphat: Je veux me déguiser pour aller au combat; mais toi, revêts-toi de tes habits. Et le roi d’Israël se déguisa, et ils allèrent au combat.
30 Le roi de Syrie avait donné cet ordre aux chefs de ses chars: Vous n’attaquerez ni petit ni grand, mais vous attaquerez seulement le roi d’Israël.
31 Quand les chefs des chars aperçurent Josaphat, ils dirent: C’est le roi d’Israël. Et ils l’entourèrent pour l’attaquer. Josaphat poussa un cri, et l’Éternel le secourut, et Dieu les écarta de lui.
32 Les chefs des chars, voyant que ce n’était pas le roi d’Israël, s’éloignèrent de lui.
33 Alors un homme tira de son arc au hasard, et frappa le roi d’Israël au défaut de la cuirasse. Le roi dit à celui qui dirigeait son char: Tourne, et fais-moi sortir du champ de bataille, car je suis blessé.
34 Le combat devint acharné ce jour-là. Le roi d’Israël fut retenu dans son char, en face des Syriens, jusqu’au soir, et il mourut vers le coucher du soleil.

1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.
3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.
6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?
7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the Lord, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.
11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of their’s, and speak thou good.
13 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the Lord?
16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19 And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith?
21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
22 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee.
23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?
24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the Lord spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
29 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and I will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
33 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
