3 Lè sètan yo fin pase, li tounen nan peyi Izrayèl, l’ al jwenn wa a, li mande l’ pou yo renmèt li kay li ak jaden li.

7 Apre sa, Elize ale lavil Damas. Bennadad, wa peyi Siri a, te malad. y’ al di wa a pwofèt la te nan lavil la.
8 Wa a rele Azayèl, yonn nan chèf li yo, li di l’ konsa: –Pote yon bagay fè pwofèt Bondye a kado. Lèfini, mande l’ pou l’ pale ak Seyè a pou konnen si m’ap leve anba maladi sa a.
9 Se konsa Azayèl al wè Elize, li pran tout kalite bon bagay li jwenn lavil Damas, li chaje yo sou karant chamo pote bay Elize. Lè li rive devan Elize, li di l’ konsa: –Pitit ou, Bennadad, wa peyi Siri a, voye m’ vin mande ou si l’ap leve anba maladi l’ la.
10 Elize reponn: –Seyè a fè m’ konnen l’ap mouri, men ou menm, al di l’ l’ap refè.
11 Lè li fin di sa, Elize pran gade Azayèl nan je. Lè Azayèl wè sa, sa jennen l’ anpil. Elize rete konsa, dlo pran kouri nan je l’.
12 Azayèl mande l’: –Mèt, poukisa w’ap kriye a? Elize reponn: –Paske mwen gen tan konnen tou sa ou pral fè pèp Izrayèl la pase. Ou pral met dife nan gwo fò yo, ou pral touye jenn gason l’ yo ak nepe, ou pral kraze pitit yo, ou pral louvri vant fanm ansent yo.
13 Azayèl mande l’: –Kisa m’ ye menm pou m’ ta rive fè tou sa? Mwen pa pi bon pase yon chen. Elize reponn li: –Seyè a fè m’ konnen se ou ki pral wa peyi Siri.
14 Azayèl kite Elize, li tounen al jwenn mèt li ki mande l’: –Sa Elize di ou? Li reponn: –Li di m’ li sèten w’ap refè.
15 Men nan denmen, Azayèl pran yon dra, li plonje l’ nan dlo, li mete l’ sou figi wa a. Wa a toufe, li mouri. Azayèl moute wa sou fotèy Siri a nan plas Bennadad.
16 Wa Joram, pitit gason Akab la, t’ap mache sou senkan depi li t’ap gouvènen peyi Izrayèl lè Joram, pitit gason Jozafa ki te wa peyi Jida a, moute wa nan plas papa l’.
17 Li te gen tranndezan lè li moute wa. Li gouvènen nan lavil Jerizalèm pandan witan.
18 Li te marye ak yon pitit fi Akab. Tankou lòt moun fanmi Akab yo, li mache pye pou pye dèyè wa peyi Izrayèl yo. Li fè sa ki mal nan je Seyè a.
19 Men, Seyè a pa t’ vle detwi peyi Jida a, paske li te pwomèt David, sèvitè l’ la, t’ap toujou gen yon moun nan ras li pou gouvènen peyi a devan Seyè a.
20 Sou reny wa Joram, moun peyi Edon yo pran lezam kont moun peyi Jida yo. Yo pran libète granmoun yo. Yo nonmen yon wa pou gouvènen yo.
21 Se konsa Joram soti ak tout cha lagè li yo, li mache sou lavil Zayi. Lame moun Edon yo sènen l’. Pandan lannwit, li menm ak chèf cha lagè li yo, yo leve yo atake moun Edon yo ki te sènen yo, yo pase soti nan mitan yo, yo chape. Tout sòlda yo gaye al lakay yo.

24 Lè Joram mouri, yo antere l’ nan kavo zansèt li yo nan lavil David la. Apre sa, se Okozyas, pitit li a, ki moute wa nan plas li.
25 Wa Joram, pitit Akab la, t’ap mache sou douzan depi li t’ap gouvènen peyi Izrayèl lè Okozyas, pitit Joram, moute wa sou fotèy peyi Jida a.
26 Li te gen venndezan. Li gouvènen nan lavil Jerizalèm pandan ennan. Manman l’ te rele Atali. Se te pitit fi Akab, pitit pitit fi Omri, tou de wa peyi Izrayèl.
27 Okozyas mache pye pou pye dèyè moun fanmi Akab yo. Li te marye nan fanmi wa Akab. Li fè sa ki mal nan je Seyè a tankou yo.
28 Wa Okozyas mete tèt ansanm ak wa Joram, pitit Akab, pou y’ al atake Azayèl, wa peyi Siri a. Lame yo kontre yonn ak lòt bò lavil Ramòt nan peyi Galarad. Sòlda peyi Siri yo blese Joram nan batay la.
29 Joram tounen lavil Jizreyèl pou l’ te refè anba kou sòlda peyi Siri yo te ba li lavi Ramòt lè li t’ap goumen ak Azayèl, wa peyi Siri a. Okozyas, pitit Joram, wa peyi Jida a, desann lavil Jizreyèl al wè wa Joram, pitit Akab la, paske Joram te malad.

1 Élisée dit à la femme dont il avait fait revivre le fils: Lève-toi, va t’en, toi et ta maison, et séjourne où tu pourras; car l’Éternel appelle la famine, et même elle vient sur le pays pour sept années.
2 La femme se leva, et elle fit selon la parole de l’homme de Dieu: elle s’en alla, elle et sa maison, et séjourna sept ans au pays des Philistins.
3 Au bout des sept ans, la femme revint du pays des Philistins, et elle alla implorer le roi au sujet de sa maison et de son champ.
4 Le roi s’entretenait avec Guéhazi, serviteur de l’homme de Dieu, et il disait: Raconte-moi, je te prie, toutes les grandes choses qu’Élisée a faites.
5 Et pendant qu’il racontait au roi comment Élisée avait rendu la vie à un mort, la femme dont Élisée avait fait revivre le fils vint implorer le roi au sujet de sa maison et de son champ. Guéhazi dit: O roi, mon seigneur, voici la femme, et voici son fils qu’Élisée a fait revivre.
6 Le roi interrogea la femme, et elle lui fit le récit. Puis le roi lui donna un eunuque, auquel il dit: Fais restituer tout ce qui appartient à cette femme, avec tous les revenus du champ, depuis le jour où elle a quitté le pays jusqu’à maintenant.
7 Élisée se rendit à Damas. Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, était malade; et on l’avertit, en disant: L’homme de Dieu est arrivé ici.
8 Le roi dit à Hazaël: Prends avec toi un présent, et va au-devant de l’homme de Dieu; consulte par lui l’Éternel, en disant: Guérirai-je de cette maladie?
9 Hazaël alla au-devant d’Élisée, prenant avec lui un présent, tout ce qu’il y avait de meilleur à Damas, la charge de quarante chameaux. Lorsqu’il fut arrivé, il se présenta à lui, et dit: Ton fils Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, m’envoie vers toi pour dire: Guérirai-je de cette maladie?
10 Élisée lui répondit: Va, dis-lui: Tu guériras! Mais l’Éternel m’a révélé qu’il mourra.
11 L’homme de Dieu arrêta son regard sur Hazaël, et le fixa longtemps, puis il pleura.
12 Hazaël dit: Pourquoi mon seigneur pleure-t-il? Et Élisée répondit: Parce que je sais le mal que tu feras aux enfants d’Israël; tu mettras le feu à leurs villes fortes, tu tueras avec l’épée leurs jeunes gens, tu écraseras leurs petits enfants, et tu fendras le ventre de leurs femmes enceintes.
13 Hazaël dit: Mais qu’est-ce que ton serviteur, ce chien, pour faire de si grandes choses? Et Élisée dit: L’Éternel m’a révélé que tu seras roi de Syrie.
14 Hazaël quitta Élisée, et revint auprès de son maître, qui lui dit: Que t’a dit Élisée? Et il répondit: Il m’a dit: Tu guériras!
15 Le lendemain, Hazaël prit une couverture, qu’il plongea dans l’eau, et il l’étendit sur le visage du roi, qui mourut. Et Hazaël régna à sa place.
16 La cinquième année de Joram, fils d’Achab, roi d’Israël, Joram, fils de Josaphat, roi de Juda, régna.
17 Il avait trente-deux ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna huit ans à Jérusalem.
18 Il marcha dans la voie des rois d’Israël, comme avait fait la maison d’Achab, car il avait pour femme une fille d’Achab, et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel.
19 Mais l’Éternel ne voulut point détruire Juda, à cause de David, son serviteur, selon la promesse qu’il lui avait faite de lui donner toujours une lampe parmi ses fils.
20 De son temps, Édom se révolta contre l’autorité de Juda, et se donna un roi.
21 Joram passa à Tsaïr, avec tous ses chars; s’étant levé de nuit, il battit les Édomites, qui l’entouraient et les chefs des chars, et le peuple s’enfuit dans ses tentes.
22 La rébellion d’Édom contre l’autorité de Juda a duré jusqu’à ce jour. Libna se révolta aussi dans le même temps.
23 Le reste des actions de Joram, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
24 Joram se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David. Et Achazia, son fils, régna à sa place.
25 La douzième année de Joram, fils d’Achab, roi d’Israël, Achazia, fils de Joram, roi de Juda, régna.
26 Achazia avait vingt-deux ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna un an à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Athalie, fille d’Omri, roi d’Israël.
27 Il marcha dans la voie de la maison d’Achab, et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, comme la maison d’Achab, car il était allié par mariage à la maison d’Achab.
28 Il alla avec Joram, fils d’Achab, à la guerre contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie, à Ramoth en Galaad. Et les Syriens blessèrent Joram.
29 Le roi Joram s’en retourna pour se faire guérir à Jizreel des blessures que les Syriens lui avaient faites à Rama, lorsqu’il se battait contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie. Achazia, fils de Joram, roi de Juda, descendit pour voir Joram, fils d’Achab, à Jizreel, parce qu’il était malade.

1 Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the Lord hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3 And it came to pass at the seven years’ end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.
4 And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.
5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
11 And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
12 And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
13 And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
15 And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
16 And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Je hoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
17 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Judah for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
21 So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.
22 Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
23 And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.
28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
