Jeremi 11
1 Seyè a pale ak Jeremi, li di l’ konsa:
2 -Koute kondisyon nou te pase nan kontra a. W’a pale ak moun peyi Jida yo ansanm ak moun ki rete lavil Jerizalèm yo.
3 W’a di yo men sa Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, di: Madichon pou tout moun ki pa kenbe kondisyon ki nan kontra a.
4 Se kontra sa a mwen te pase ak zansèt nou yo lè mwen t’ap fè yo soti kite peyi Lejip, peyi ki te tankou yon gwo dife nan dèyè yo. Mwen te di yo: Se pou nou koute m’, se pou nou fè tou sa mwen ban nou lòd fè. Se konsa, n’a yon pèp ki rele m’ pa m’. Mwen menm, m’a sèl Bondye nou.
5 Lè sa a m’a kenbe pwomès ak gwo sèman mwen te fè bay zansèt nou yo, pou m’ te ba yo yon bon peyi kote lèt ak siwo myèl ap koule tankou dlo. Se peyi sa a ki pa nou jòdi a! Mwen reponn: -Se vre, Seyè!
6 Apre sa, Seyè a di m’ ankò: -Al repete tout pawòl sa yo byen fò nan zòrèy moun lavil peyi Jida yo, ak nan zòrèy moun nan tout lari lavil Jerizalèm. Di yo: Koute kondisyon ki nan kontra a. Fè tou sa ki ladan l’.
7 Paske, depi lè mwen t’ap fè zansèt nou yo soti kite peyi Lejip jouk rive jòdi a, mwen pa manke avèti yo. Depi lè sa a m’ dèyè yo, m’ap mande yo pou yo koute sa m’ te di yo!
8 Men yo pa tande, zòrèy yo bouche. Mwen te mande yo pou yo te fè tou sa mwen te ba yo lòd fè nan kontra a, men yo derefize. Se konsa mwen pini yo jan m’ te di yo sa nan kontra a.
9 Apre sa, Seyè a di m’ konsa: -Moun Jida ak moun lavil Jerizalèm moute konplo sou do mwen.
10 Yo tonbe ankò nan menm peche ak zansèt yo ki te refize koute sa m’ t’ap di yo. Yo menm tou, yo kouri dèyè lòt bondye pou fè sèvis pou yo. Ni moun peyi Izrayèl yo, ni moun peyi Jida yo pa kenbe kontra mwen te pase ak zansèt yo a.
11 Enben! Se mwen menm Seyè a k’ap pale: Mwen pral voye yon malè sou yo. Yo p’ap ka chape anba l’. Y’a kriye nan pye m’, mwen p’ap koute yo.
12 Lè sa a, se pou moun peyi Jida yo ak moun ki rete lavil Jerizalèm yo al kriye nan pye bondye y’ap sèvi yo. Se pa pou yo yo te konn boule ofrann yo! Tansèlman, bondye sa yo p’ap ka sove yo lè malè a va rive sou yo.
13 Nou menm moun peyi Jida, nou gen yon bondye pou chak lavil nan peyi a! Nou menm moun lavil Jerizalèm, mezi lari nou genyen se mezi lotèl nou bati pou boule ofrann pou Baal, zidòl k’ap fè nou wont la!
14 Ou menm, Jeremi, ou pa bezwen vin plede pou moun sa yo. Ou pa bezwen plenyen pou yo, ni ou pa bezwen lapriyè pou yo. Paske y’a rele nan pye m’ lè malè a va rive sou yo, mwen p’ap tande yo.
15 Seyè a di ankò: -Pèp mwen renmen anpil la gen move lide dèyè tèt yo. Ki dwa yo genyen pou yo vin nan Tanp mwen an? Yo gen lè konprann yo ka egzante malè k’ap vin sou yo a avèk bèl pwomès y’ap fè m’ yo, yo ka chape anba l’ avèk vyann anpil bèt y’ap ofri pou mwen yo, apre sa pou y’ al pran plezi yo?
16 Yon lè, mwen te rele yo: Bèl pye oliv mwen an, plen fèy, chaje donn. Men, koulye a, m’ap vini ak yon bri loraj, m’ap mete dife nan fèy li yo, m’ap kase tout branch li yo.
17 Se mwen menm Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a ki te plante pèp Izrayèl la ansanm ak pèp Jida a. Men koulye a, mwen pran desizyon pou m’ voye malè sou yo. Se yo menm ki chache l’ avèk tou sa yo fè ki mal: Se yo ki fè m’ fache paske y’ al boule ofrann pou Baal!
18 Seyè a fè m’ konnen yo t’ap moute yon konplo sou do mwen. Li fè m’ wè jan yo t’ap manniganse sou do m’ pou yo pran m’.
19 Mwen menm, mwen te tankou yon ti mouton tou dou yo t’ap mennen labatwa, mwen pa t’ konnen se sou do m’ yo t’ap konplote konsa lè yo t’ap di: Annou koupe pyebwa ki byen kanpe a. Ann disparèt li sou latè pou pesonn pa chonje l’ ankò.
20 Lè sa a, mwen lapriyè, mwen di: -Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, ou se yon jij ki pa nan patipri. Ou sonde tou sa ki nan kè ak nan lide moun. Mwen lage kòz mwen nan men ou. Fè m’ wè jan w’ap tire revanj ou sou yo.
21 Mesye lavil Anatòt yo te soti pou yo touye m’. Yo di m’ konsa: O wi, si ou louvri bouch ou pou pale nan non Seyè a ankò, n’ap touye ou.
22 Enben, men sa Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a di: M’ pral regle ak yo! Jenn gason yo pral mouri nan lagè. Pitit gason ak pitit fi yo pral mouri grangou.
23 Lè lè a va rive pou yo peye pou sa yo fè a, m’ap voye yon sèl malè sou moun lavil Anatòt yo. Yo yonn p’ap chape.

Jérémie 11
1 La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l’Éternel, en ces mots:
2 Écoutez les paroles de cette alliance, Et parlez aux hommes de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem!
3 Dis-leur: Ainsi parle l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël: Maudit soit l’homme qui n’écoute point les paroles de cette alliance,
4 Que j’ai prescrite à vos pères, Le jour où je les ai fait sortir du pays d’Égypte, De la fournaise de fer, en disant: Écoutez ma voix, et faites tout ce que je vous ordonnerai; Alors vous serez mon peuple, Je serai votre Dieu,
5 Et j’accomplirai le serment que j’ai fait à vos pères, De leur donner un pays où coulent le lait et le miel, Comme vous le voyez aujourd’hui. -Et je répondis: Amen, Éternel!
6 L’Éternel me dit: Publie toutes ces paroles dans les villes de Juda Et dans les rues de Jérusalem, en disant: Écoutez les paroles de cette alliance, Et mettez-les en pratique!
7 Car j’ai averti vos pères, Depuis le jour où je les ai fait monter du pays d’Égypte Jusqu’à ce jour, Je les ai avertis tous les matins, en disant: Écoutez ma voix!
8 Mais ils n’ont pas écouté, ils n’ont pas prêté l’oreille, Ils ont suivi chacun les penchants de leur mauvais coeur; Alors j’ai accompli sur eux toutes les paroles de cette alliance, Que je leur avais ordonné d’observer et qu’ils n’ont point observée.
9 L’Éternel me dit: Il y a une conjuration entre les hommes de Juda Et les habitants de Jérusalem.
10 Ils sont retournés aux iniquités de leurs premiers pères, Qui ont refusé d’écouter mes paroles, Et ils sont allés après d’autres dieux, pour les servir. La maison d’Israël et la maison de Juda ont violé mon alliance, Que j’avais faite avec leurs pères.
11 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel: Voici, je vais faire venir sur eux des malheurs Dont ils ne pourront se délivrer. Ils crieront vers moi, Et je ne les écouterai pas.
12 Les villes de Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem Iront invoquer les dieux auxquels ils offrent de l’encens, Mais ils ne les sauveront pas au temps de leur malheur.
13 Car tu as autant de dieux que de villes, ô Juda! Et autant Jérusalem a de rues, Autant vous avez dressé d’autels aux idoles, D’autels pour offrir de l’encens à Baal…
14 Et toi, n’intercède pas en faveur de ce peuple, N’élève pour eux ni supplications ni prières; Car je ne les écouterai pas, Quand ils m’invoqueront à cause de leur malheur.
15 Que ferait mon bien-aimé dans ma maison? Il s’y commet une foule de crimes. La chair sacrée disparaîtra devant toi. Quand tu fais le mal, c’est alors que tu triomphes!
16 Olivier verdoyant, remarquable par la beauté de son fruit, Tel est le nom que t’avait donné l’Éternel; Au bruit d’un grand fracas, il l’embrase par le feu, Et ses rameaux sont brisés.
17 L’Éternel des armées, qui t’a planté, Appelle sur toi le malheur, A cause de la méchanceté de la maison d’Israël et de la maison de Juda, Qui ont agi pour m’irriter, en offrant de l’encens à Baal.
18 L’Éternel m’en a informé, et je l’ai su; Alors tu m’as fait voir leurs oeuvres.
19 J’étais comme un agneau familier qu’on mène à la boucherie, Et j’ignorais les mauvais desseins qu’ils méditaient contre moi: Détruisons l’arbre avec son fruit! Retranchons-le de la terre des vivants, Et qu’on ne se souvienne plus de son nom! –
20 Mais l’Éternel des armées est un juste juge, Qui sonde les reins et les coeurs. Je verrai ta vengeance s’exercer contre eux, Car c’est à toi que je confie ma cause.
21 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel contre les gens d’Anathoth, Qui en veulent à ta vie, et qui disent: Ne prophétise pas au nom de l’Éternel, Ou tu mourras de notre main!
22 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Voici, je vais les châtier; Les jeunes hommes mourront par l’épée, Leurs fils et leurs filles mourront par la famine.
23 Aucun d’eux n’échappera; Car je ferai venir le malheur sur les gens d’Anathoth, L’année où je les châtierai.

Jeremiah 11
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying,
2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
3 And say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
4 Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
5 That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Lord.
6 Then the Lord said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.
9 And the Lord said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
11 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.
14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
16 The Lord called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.
17 For the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.
18 And the Lord hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.
19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
20 But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
21 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:
22 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:
23 And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
