1 Naomi te gen yon fanmi mari l’ yo te rele Bòz. Se te yon nonm ki te rich epi ki te grannèg. Li te fè pati menm branch fanmi ak Elimelèk, defen mari Naomi an.
2 Rit, fanm peyi Moab la, di Naomi konsa: -Kite m’ ale nan jaden yo pou m’ ranmase tèt lòj moun k’ap ranmase rekòt yo kite tonbe atè. M’a jwenn yon moun ki va kite m’ ranmase nan jaden li. Naomi reponn li: -Ale non, mafi.
3 Se konsa, Rit leve, li al nan jaden yo, li pran mache dèyè travayè yo, li t’ap ranmase tèt lòj yo te kite tonbe atè. Chans pou li, li rive nan yon jaden ki te pou Bòz, fanmi Elimelèk la.
4 Li te la depi kèk tan lè Bòz rive soti Betleyèm. Li di travayè yo bonjou, li di yo: -Seyè a avèk nou! Yo reponn li: -benediksyon Seyè a avè ou tou!
5 Bòz mande kontwòlè a: -Ki jenn ti madanm sa a?
6 Nonm lan reponn: -Se yon fi moun lòt peyi li ye. Se li menm ki te vini ansanm ak Naomi lè li te tounen soti nan peyi Moab.
7 Li te mande m’ pou m’ kite l’ mache dèyè travayè yo ranmase tèt lòj ki tonbe atè yo. L’ap degaje l’ la a depi maten. Li fèk sispann pou l’ pran yon ti repo anba tonèl lan la a.
8 Lè sa a, Bòz di Rit konsa: -M’ap ba ou yon ti konsèy, tande, mafi. Ou pa bezwen ale nan lòt jaden pou ranmase tèt lòj. Ou mèt rete nan jaden sa a, bò medam yo ki isit la.
9 Gade tout kote y’ap travay nan jaden an, fè dèyè yo, rete ak yo. Mwen bay mesye m’ yo lòd pou yo pa anbete ou. Chak fwa w’a swaf dlo, ou mèt al bwè nan kannari yo plen pou sa.
10 Rit bese tèt li jouk atè devan Bòz. Li di l’ konsa: -Poukisa w’ap bay kò ou tout traka sa a pou mwen? Poukisa w’ap fè tout bagay sa a pou yon moun ki pa menm ras avè ou?
11 Bòz reponn li: -Yo di m’ tou sa ou te fè pou bèlmè ou depi mari ou mouri a. Mwen konnen ou kite manman ou, papa ou ak peyi kote ou moun lan, ou vin viv nan mitan yon lòt pèp ou pa t’ janm konnen anvan.
12 Mwen mande Seyè a pou li rekonpanse ou pou tou sa ou te fè. Wi. Ou vini mete ou anba zèl li pou l’ pwoteje ou. Se pou Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, ba ou yon bèl rekonpans!
13 Rit reponn li: -Ou pa konn sa ou fè la a pou mwen, msye! Jan ou pale byen avè m’ la a, sa ban m’ kouraj, malgre mwen pa vo yonn nan medam k’ap sèvi avè ou yo.
14 Lè lè pou yo manje a rive, Bòz di Rit konsa: -Pwoche non! Pran yon moso pen, tranpe l’ nan sòs vinèg la pou ou manje! Se konsa Rit vin chita ansanm ak lòt travayè yo. Bòz te ba li kèk grenn lòj griye tou. Rit manje plen vant li, epi rès manje ki te rete a, li sere l’.
15 Lè Rit leve al ranmase, Bòz bay travayè yo lòd sa a: -Nou mèt kite l’ ranmase grenn menm kote pakèt mare yo ye a. Pa chache l’ kont.
16 Okontrè, rache kèk tèt nan pakèt mare yo, lage yo atè pou l’ ka ranmase. Pa di l’ anyen, tande!
17 Se konsa Rit rete ranmase grap lòj nan jaden an jouk solèy kouche. Lè li fin bat tèt lòj yo, li jwenn sa ki te manke l’ pou l’ te gen vennsenk ti mamit la pa t’ anyen.
18 Li pran grenn lòj li yo, li tounen lavil, li moutre bèlmè li tou sa li te ranmase. Li ba li tou rès manje ki te rete lè l’ te fin manje a.
19 Naomi mande l’: -Kote ou ranmase tout lòj sa a jòdi a? Nan jaden ki moun ou t’ap travay, en? Se pou Bondye beni moun ki fè sa pou ou a! Lè sa a, Rit di bèlmè li konsa li t’ap travay nan jaden yon msye yo rele Bòz.
20 Naomi di bèlfi li a: -benediksyon Seyè a pou Bòz! Wi. Seyè a ap toujou kenbe pawòl li, nou te mèt vivan, nou te mèt mouri! Naomi di ankò: -Nonm sa a, se yon fanmi pre nou li ye. Se yonn nan moun ki reskonsab defann enterè fanmi an.
21 Lè sa a, Rit di konsa: -Men sa l’ di m’ ankò: Se pou m’ rete ranmase tèt lòj ansanm ak travayè li yo jouk rekòt la fini.
22 Naomi reponn li: -Wi, pitit mwen! Pito ou rete travay avèk medam yo nan jaden Bòz la, tande. Si ou ale nan jaden lòt moun, malè ka rive ou.
23 Se konsa, Rit rete ansanm avèk medam k’ap travay ak Bòz yo. Li t’ap ranmase tèt lòj jouk travayè yo te fin rekòlte tout lòj la ak tout ble a. Li t’ap viv tout tan sa a ak bèlmè li toujou.

Ruth 2
1 Naomi avait un parent de son mari. C’était un homme puissant et riche, de la famille d’Élimélec, et qui se nommait Boaz.
2 Ruth la Moabite dit à Naomi: Laisse-moi, je te prie, aller glaner des épis dans le champ de celui aux yeux duquel je trouverai grâce. Elle lui répondit: Va, ma fille.
3 Elle alla glaner dans un champ, derrière les moissonneurs. Et il se trouva par hasard que la pièce de terre appartenait à Boaz, qui était de la famille d’Élimélec.
4 Et voici, Boaz vint de Bethléhem, et il dit aux moissonneurs: Que l’Éternel soit avec vous! Ils lui répondirent: Que l’Éternel te bénisse!
5 Et Boaz dit à son serviteur chargé de surveiller les moissonneurs: A qui est cette jeune femme?
6 Le serviteur chargé de surveiller les moissonneurs répondit: C’est une jeune femme Moabite, qui est revenue avec Naomi du pays de Moab.
7 Elle a dit: Permettez-moi de glaner et de ramasser des épis entre les gerbes, derrière les moissonneurs. Et depuis ce matin qu’elle est venue, elle a été debout jusqu’à présent, et ne s’est reposée qu’un moment dans la maison.
8 Boaz dit à Ruth: Écoute, ma fille, ne va pas glaner dans un autre champ; ne t’éloigne pas d’ici, et reste avec mes servantes.
9 Regarde où l’on moissonne dans le champ, et va après elles. J’ai défendu à mes serviteurs de te toucher. Et quand tu auras soif, tu iras aux vases, et tu boiras de ce que les serviteurs auront puisé.
10 Alors elle tomba sur sa face et se prosterna contre terre, et elle lui dit: Comment ai-je trouvé grâce à tes yeux, pour que tu t’intéresses à moi, à moi qui suis une étrangère?
11 Boaz lui répondit: On m’a rapporté tout ce que tu as fait pour ta belle-mère depuis la mort de ton mari, et comment tu as quitté ton père et ta mère et le pays de ta naissance, pour aller vers un peuple que tu ne connaissais point auparavant.
12 Que l’Éternel te rende ce que tu as fait, et que ta récompense soit entière de la part de l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, sous les ailes duquel tu es venue te réfugier!
13 Et elle dit: Oh! que je trouve grâce à tes yeux, mon seigneur! Car tu m’as consolée, et tu as parlé au coeur de ta servante. Et pourtant je ne suis pas, moi, comme l’une de tes servantes.
14 Au moment du repas, Boaz dit à Ruth: Approche, mange du pain, et trempe ton morceau dans le vinaigre. Elle s’assit à côté des moissonneurs. On lui donna du grain rôti; elle mangea et se rassasia, et elle garda le reste.
15 Puis elle se leva pour glaner. Boaz donna cet ordre à ses serviteurs: Qu’elle glane aussi entre les gerbes, et ne l’inquiétez pas,
16 et même vous ôterez pour elle des gerbes quelques épis, que vous la laisserez glaner, sans lui faire de reproches.
17 Elle glana dans le champ jusqu’au soir, et elle battit ce qu’elle avait glané. Il y eut environ un épha d’orge.
18 Elle l’emporta et rentra dans la ville, et sa belle-mère vit ce qu’elle avait glané. Elle sortit aussi les restes de son repas, et les lui donna.
19 Sa belle-mère lui dit: Où as-tu glané aujourd’hui, et où as-tu travaillé? Béni soit celui qui s’est intéressé à toi! Et Ruth fit connaître à sa belle mère chez qui elle avait travaillé: L’homme chez qui j’ai travaillé aujourd’hui, dit-elle, s’appelle Boaz.
20 Naomi dit à sa belle-fille: Qu’il soit béni de l’Éternel, qui se montre miséricordieux pour les vivants comme il le fut pour ceux qui sont morts! Cet homme est notre parent, lui dit encore Naomi, il est de ceux qui ont sur nous droit de rachat.
21 Ruth la Moabite ajouta: Il m’a dit aussi: Reste avec mes serviteurs, jusqu’à ce qu’ils aient achevé toute ma moisson.
22 Et Naomi dit à Ruth, sa belle-fille: Il est bon, ma fille, que tu sortes avec ses servantes, et qu’on ne te rencontre pas dans un autre champ.
23 Elle resta donc avec les servantes de Boaz, pour glaner, jusqu’à la fin de la moisson des orges et de la moisson du froment. Et elle demeurait avec sa belle-mère.

Ruth 2
1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
4 And, behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they answered him, The Lord bless thee.
5 Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this?
6 And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:
7 And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.
8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:
9 Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
12 The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
13 Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
14 And Boaz said unto her, At mealtime come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
15 And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:
16 And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.
17 So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.
18 And she took it up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed.
19 And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man’s name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz.
20 And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the Lord, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.
21 And Ruth the Moabitess said, He said unto me also, Thou shalt keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
22 And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
23 So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
