Jeremi 16
1 Seyè a pale avè m’ ankò, li di m’ konsa:
2 -Pinga ou marye pou ou pa gen ni pitit gason ni pitit fi yon kote konsa.
3 Paske se mwen menm Seyè a k’ap di ou sa ki pral rive pitit gason ak pitit fi ki fèt isit la, sa ki pral rive manman ak papa k’ap fè pitit nan peyi a.
4 Move maladi pral touye yo. P’ap gen moun ni pou kriye pou yo ni pou antere yo. Kadav yo va tounen fimye atè a. Y’ap mouri nan lagè, y’ap mouri grangou. Kadav yo ap sèvi manje pou zwezo nan syèl ak bèt nan bwa.
5 Wi, men sa Seyè a di ankò: -Pa antre nan kay kote ki gen lanmò. Pa kriye pou pesonn! Pa moutre moun sa yo ou nan lapenn pou yo, paske mwen p’ap kite yo ak kè poze ankò. Se mwen Seyè a ki di sa. Mwen p’ap gen pitye pou yo ankò. Mwen p’ap fè byen pou yo ankò.
6 Tout moun nan peyi a pral mouri, rich kou pòv. Yo p’ap antere yo. Pesonn p’ap kriye pou yo. Pesonn p’ap ni make kò yo ak kouto, ni koupe cheve nan tèt yo, pou moutre yo nan lapenn pou yo.
7 Pesonn p’ap manje pen ak diven avèk moun ki nan lapenn, avèk moun ki gen lanmò nan fanmi yo. Pesonn p’ap moutre yo nan lapenn ak moun ki pèdi papa yo osinon manman yo.
8 Pa antre nan kay kote y’ap fè fèt non plis. Pa chita sou tab pou manje bwè ak yo.
9 Paske men sa mwen menm, Seyè a ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, mwen di: Nou tout k’ap viv isit la, m’ap fè nou wè m’ap fè tout moun sispann fè kè yo kontan, sispann fè fèt lè y’ap marye.
10 Lè w’a di yo tou sa, y’a mande ou: Men, poukisa Seyè a pran desizyon pou li voye gwo malè sa a sou nou? Kisa nou fè ki mal? Ki krim nou fè ki pa fè Seyè a, Bondye nou an, plezi?
11 Lè sa a, w’a reponn yo: -Men sa Seyè a di: Se paske zansèt nou yo te vire do ban mwen, y’ al dèyè lòt Bondye. Yo fè sèvis pou yo, yo adore yo, yo vire do ban mwen. Yo pa kenbe lòd mwen te ba yo.
12 Lèfini, nou menm nou fè pi mal pase yo. Nou tout ap fè tèt di, n’ap swiv tout vye lide ki pase nan tèt nou, nou pa vle koute m’.
13 Se konsa, m’ap mete nou deyò nan peyi sa a, m’ap voye nou nan yon peyi ni nou menm ni zansèt nou yo pa t’ janm konnen. Se la nou pral sèvi lòt bondye lajounen kou lannwit. Mwen p’ap fè pa nou ankò.
14 Se konsa, men sa Seyè a di: -Yon jou va rive lè moun pèp Izrayèl yo p’ap di lè y’ap fè sèman: Se nan non Seyè a ki vivan, li menm ki te fè nou soti kite peyi Lejip.
15 Lè sa a, y’a di pito: Se nan non Seyè a ki vivan, li menm ki fè pèp Izrayèl la soti kite peyi nan nò a ak tout lòt peyi kote li te gaye yo. Wi, m’ap mennen yo tounen nan peyi mwen te bay zansèt yo a.
16 Seyè a di ankò: -Mwen voye chache anpil moun ki konn fè lapèch pou vin pran yo. Apre sa, m’ap voye chache kantite moun ki konn fè lachas pou kouri dèyè yo sou tout mòn, sou tout ti mòn, jouk nan twou wòch.
17 Je m’ louvri sou tou sa y’ap fè. Anyen pa kache pou mwen. Yo mèt kache kò yo jan yo vle, mwen wè tou sa yo fè ki mal.
18 Pou konmanse, m’ap fè yo peye doub pou tout peche yo, pou tou sa yo fè ki mal, paske yo derespekte tout peyi m’ lan ak vye zidòl yo ki tankou kadav santi. Yo plen peyi a ak fo bondye.
19 Seyè, ou menm ki tout pwoteksyon mwen, ou menm ki ban m’ tout fòs mwen, se bò kote ou mwen kouri lè mwen nan pwoblèm. Moun lòt nasyon yo va soti byen lwen, nan dènye bout latè pou yo vin nan pye ou. Y’a di: -Sa zansèt nou yo te mouri kite pou nou yo pa bondye tout bon. Se yon bann zidòl ki pa vo anyen.
20 Eske moun ka fè bondye pa yo? Zidòl sa yo pa bondye tout bon.
21 Se konsa, fwa sa a, mwen pral fè yo konprann. Fwa sa a, mwen pral fè yo konnen fòs ponyèt mwen. Lè sa a, y’a konnen se mwen menm ki Bondye sèl Mèt la.

1 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Tu ne prendras point de femme, Et tu n’auras dans ce lieu ni fils ni filles.
3 Car ainsi parle l’Éternel sur les fils et les filles Qui naîtront en ce lieu, Sur leurs mères qui les auront enfantés, Et sur leurs pères qui les auront engendrés dans ce pays:
4 Ils mourront consumés par la maladie; On ne leur donnera ni larmes ni sépulture; Ils seront comme du fumier sur la terre; Ils périront par l’épée et par la famine; Et leurs cadavres serviront de pâture Aux oiseaux du ciel et aux bêtes de la terre.
5 Car ainsi parle l’Éternel: N’entre pas dans une maison de deuil, N’y va pas pleurer, te lamenter avec eux; Car j’ai retiré à ce peuple ma paix, dit l’Éternel, Ma bonté et ma miséricorde.
6 Grands et petits mourront dans ce pays; On ne leur donnera point de sépulture; On ne les pleurera point, On ne se fera point d’incision, Et l’on ne se rasera pas pour eux.
7 On ne rompra pas le pain dans le deuil Pour consoler quelqu’un au sujet d’un mort, Et l’on n’offrira pas la coupe de consolation Pour un père ou pour une mère.
8 N’entre pas non plus dans une maison de festin, Pour t’asseoir avec eux, Pour manger et pour boire.
9 Car ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées, le Dieu d’Israël: Voici, je ferai cesser dans ce lieu, sous vos yeux et de vos jours, Les cris de réjouissance et les cris d’allégresse, Les chants du fiancé et les chants de la fiancée.
10 Lorsque tu annonceras à ce peuple toutes ces choses, Ils te diront: Pourquoi l’Éternel nous menace-t-il de tous ces grands malheurs? Quelle est notre iniquité? Quel péché avons-nous commis contre l’Éternel, notre Dieu?
11 Alors tu leur répondras: Vos pères m’ont abandonné, dit l’Éternel, Ils sont allés après d’autres dieux, Ils les ont servis et se sont prosternés devant eux; Ils m’ont abandonné, et n’ont point observé ma loi.
12 Et vous, vous avez fait le mal plus encore que vos pères; Et voici, vous suivez chacun les penchants de votre mauvais coeur, Pour ne point m’écouter.
13 Je vous transporterai de ce pays Dans un pays que vous n’avez point connu, Ni vous, ni vos pères; Et là, vous servirez les autres dieux jour et nuit, Car je ne vous accorderai point de grâce.
14 C’est pourquoi voici, les jours viennent, dit l’Éternel, Où l’on ne dira plus: L’Éternel est vivant, Lui qui a fait monter du pays d’Égypte les enfants d’Israël!
15 Mais on dira: L’Éternel est vivant, Lui qui a fait monter les enfants d’Israël du pays du septentrion Et de tous les pays où il les avait chassés! Je les ramènerai dans leur pays, Que j’avais donné à leurs pères.
16 Voici, j’envoie une multitude de pêcheurs, dit l’Éternel, et ils les pêcheront; Et après cela j’enverrai une multitude de chasseurs, et ils les chasseront De toutes les montagnes et de toutes les collines, Et des fentes des rochers.
17 Car mes yeux sont attentifs à toutes leurs voies, Elles ne sont point cachées devant ma face, Et leur iniquité ne se dérobe point à mes regards.
18 Je leur donnerai d’abord le double salaire de leur iniquité et de leur péché, Parce qu’ils ont profané mon pays, Parce qu’ils ont rempli mon héritage Des cadavres de leurs idoles et de leurs abominations.
19 Éternel, ma force et mon appui, mon refuge au jour de la détresse! Les nations viendront à toi des extrémités de la terre, Et elles diront: Nos pères n’ont hérité que le mensonge, De vaines idoles, qui ne servent à rien.
20 L’homme peut-il se faire des dieux, Qui ne sont pas des dieux? –
21 C’est pourquoi voici, je leur fais connaître, cette fois, Je leur fais connaître ma puissance et ma force; Et ils sauront que mon nom est l’Éternel.

Jeremiah 16
1 The word of the Lord came also unto me, saying,
2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.
3 For thus saith the Lord concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;
4 They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
5 For thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the Lord, even lovingkindness and mercies.
6 Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:
7 Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
8 Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
9 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the Lord pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?
11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the Lord, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that it shall no more be said, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
15 But, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
19 O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The Lord.
