Pwovèb 29
1 Moun k’ap fè tèt di lè y’ap rale zòrèy yo, se moun k’ap rete konsa y’ap tonbe san yo pa ka leve ankò.
2 Lè se moun serye ki chèf, pèp la kontan. Men, lè se yon mechan k’ap gouvènen, pèp la nan lapenn.
3 W’ap fè kè papa ou kontan si ou toujou ap chache bon konprann. Moun k’ap frekante jennès, se lajan l’ l’ap gaspiye.
4 Lè yon wa pa nan patipri, peyi a kanpe byen fèm. Men, depi yon chèf nan resevwa lajan sou kote, se fini l’ap fini ak peyi a.
5 Moun k’ap flate moun, se yon pèlen y’ap pare sou wout yo.
6 Moun mechan pran nan mechanste y’ap fè. Men, moun ki mache dwat yo gen kè kontan, y’ap fè fèt.
7 Moun ki mache dwat konnen pou l’ respekte dwa pòv malere. Men, mechan an pa konnen bagay konsa.
8 Moun ki pa gen respè pou lòt ap mache simen kont nan tout peyi a. Men moun ki gen konprann konnen pou l’ kontwole tèt li lè li fache.
9 Lè moun ki gen konprann al nan leta ak moun fou, fache pa fache anyen p’ap regle.
10 Depi yon moun serye, ansasen pa vle wè li. Men, moun ki mache dwat yo ap pwoteje l’.
11 Lè moun fou ankòlè, li di sa ki vin nan bouch li. Men, moun ki gen bon konprann kontwole bouch li.
12 Lè yon chèf renmen tripotay, se mechan ase k’ap sèvi avè l’.
13 Gen yon bagay ni pòv la ni moun k’ap peze l’ la gen ansanm: se Bondye ki bay ni yonn ni lòt je pou yo wè.
14 Lè yon wa pran kòz malere yo pou l’ defann dwa yo san patipri, wa sa a la pou l’ gouvènen lontan.
15 Baton ki korije timoun ap ba yo konprann. Men, timoun yo kite fè sa yo pito gen pou fè manman yo wont.
16 Lè mechan an rive chèf nan yon peyi, gen plis mechanste k’ap fèt. Men, moun k’ap mache dwat yo va wè jan mechan yo ap tonbe.
17 Korije pitit gason ou lan, li p’ap ba ou tèt chaje. L’a fè kè ou kontan.
18 Lè pa gen moun ki pou fè pèp la konnen sa pou l’ fè, pèp la an debandad nèt. Men, ala bon sa bon pou moun k’ap fè sa lalwa mande!
19 Pale anpil p’ap korije esklav. Menm lè li konprann, se pa sa k’ap fè l’ obeyi.
20 Gen plis espwa pou yon moun ki san konprann pase pou yon moun k’ap prese pale san kalkile.
21 Lè ou mou ak yon esklav depi li tou piti, rive yon lè l’ap konprann se pitit ou li ye.
22 Moun ki ankòlè fasil toujou ap fè bagay yo pa dwe fè. Moun ki gen san wo toujou nan goumen.
23 Awogans fè moun pèdi pye. Men, y’ap respekte moun ki soumèt devan Bondye.
24 Moun ki konplis yon vòlò, se moun ki rayi tèt li. Si li denonse vòlò a, y’ap pini l’. Si li pa denonse l’, madichon Bondye ap tonbe sou li.
25 Si ou pè sa moun ap di, ou antrave. Men, si ou mete konfyans ou nan Seyè a, ou pa bezwen pè anyen.
26 Anpil moun ap kouri dèyè favè chèf. Men, se Bondye k’ap jije tout moun san patipri.
27 Moun ki mache dwat pa vle wè mechan. Mechan pa vle wè moun k’ap mache dwat.

Proverbes 29
1 Un homme qui mérite d’être repris, et qui raidit le cou, Sera brisé subitement et sans remède.
2 Quand les justes se multiplient, le peuple est dans la joie; Quand le méchant domine, le peuple gémit.
3 Un homme qui aime la sagesse réjouit son père, Mais celui qui fréquente des prostituées dissipe son bien.
4 Un roi affermit le pays par la justice, Mais celui qui reçoit des présents le ruine.
5 Un homme qui flatte son prochain Tend un filet sous ses pas.
6 Il y a un piège dans le péché de l’homme méchant, Mais le juste triomphe et se réjouit.
7 Le juste connaît la cause des pauvres, Mais le méchant ne comprend pas la science.
8 Les moqueurs soufflent le feu dans la ville, Mais les sages calment la colère.
9 Si un homme sage conteste avec un insensé, Il aura beau se fâcher ou rire, la paix n’aura pas lieu.
10 Les hommes de sang haïssent l’homme intègre, Mais les hommes droits protègent sa vie.
11 L’insensé met en dehors toute sa passion, Mais le sage la contient.
12 Quand celui qui domine a égard aux paroles mensongères, Tous ses serviteurs sont des méchants.
13 Le pauvre et l’oppresseur se rencontrent; C’est l’Éternel qui éclaire les yeux de l’un et de l’autre.
14 Un roi qui juge fidèlement les pauvres Aura son trône affermi pour toujours.
15 La verge et la correction donnent la sagesse, Mais l’enfant livré à lui-même fait honte à sa mère.
16 Quand les méchants se multiplient, le péché s’accroît; Mais les justes contempleront leur chute.
17 Châtie ton fils, et il te donnera du repos, Et il procurera des délices à ton âme.
18 Quand il n’y a pas de révélation, le peuple est sans frein; Heureux s’il observe la loi!
19 Ce n’est pas par des paroles qu’on châtie un esclave; Même s’il comprend, il n’obéit pas.
20 Si tu vois un homme irréfléchi dans ses paroles, Il y a plus à espérer d’un insensé que de lui.
21 Le serviteur qu’on traite mollement dès l’enfance Finit par se croire un fils.
22 Un homme colère excite des querelles, Et un furieux commet beaucoup de péchés.
23 L’orgueil d’un homme l’abaisse, Mais celui qui est humble d’esprit obtient la gloire.
24 Celui qui partage avec un voleur est ennemi de son âme; Il entend la malédiction, et il ne déclare rien.
25 La crainte des hommes tend un piège, Mais celui qui se confie en l’Éternel est protégé.
26 Beaucoup de gens recherchent la faveur de celui qui domine, Mais c’est l’Éternel qui fait droit à chacun.
27 L’homme inique est en abomination aux justes, Et celui dont la voie est droite est en abomination aux méchants.

Proverbs 29
1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
