Amòs 5
1 Nou menm, moun pèp Izrayèl, koute chante m’ap chante nan lapenn mwen gen pou nou:
2 Pèp Izrayèl la tankou yon jenn fi. Li tonbe. Li p’ap janm leve ankò. Men li kouche atè a. Pa gen pesonn pou ba l’ men.
3 Seyè a di konsa: Lè yon lavil nan peyi Izrayèl la voye mil (1000) sòlda nan lagè, se san (100) ase ki tounen. Lè yon lòt lavil voye san (100) se dis ase ki tounen.
4 Seyè a pale ak pèp Izrayèl la, li di l’ konsa: Tounen vin jwenn mwen, n’a gen lavi.
5 Pa al chache m’ lavil Betèl. Pa ale lavil Gilgal. Pa moute ale bò Bècheba al fè sèvis. Betèl pa la pou lontan. Yo gen pou yo depòte moun Gilgal yo voye yo nan peyi etranje.
6 Chache vin jwenn Seyè a, n’a gen lavi. Si se pa sa, l’ap tonbe sou pèp Izrayèl la tankou dife. Dife a ap boule lavil Betèl. Pesonn p’ap ka tenyen l’.
7 Adye! N’ap vire lajistis lanvè, n’ap pilonnen dwa pèp la anba pye nou!
8 Se Seyè a ki te fè zetwal yo, Lapousiyè ak Oryon. Li fè lannwit tounen lajounen, li fè lajounen tounen lannwit. Li rele dlo lanmè a, li vide l’ sou tout latè. Yo rele l’ Seyè. Wi, se konsa yo rele l’.
9 Li rale malè sou gwo chèf yo, li fè kraze sitadèl yo nèt.
10 Nou pa vle wè moun k’ap denonse lenjistis. Nou pa vle wè moun k’ap di verite nan tribinal.

12 Mwen konnen tou jan peche nou fè yo gwo anpil, jan se pa de ti krim nou pa fè. Nou pèsekite moun serye. Nou pran lajan nan men moun k’ap achte figi nou. Nou enpoze pòv malere yo jwenn jistis nan tribinal.
13 Se poutèt sa, yon moun ki gen konprann, se je wè bouch pe. Tan an twò move deyò a.
14 Chache fè sa ki byen pou nou ka viv. Pa fè sa ki mal. Lè sa a, Seyè a, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, va kanpe avèk nou jan n’ap plede di l’ la.
15 Rayi sa ki mal, renmen sa ki byen. Pa kite yo fè lenjistis nan tribinal. Nou pa janm konnen, Seyè a ka gen pitye pou ti rès ki rete nan pitit pitit Jozèf yo.
16 Se poutèt sa, men sa Seyè a, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, di: Moun pral mache nan tout lari, yo pral rele nan tout kalfou: Mezanmi, mezanmi, ki lapenn sa a! Yo pral rele tout moun vin nan lanmò a. Y’ap fè chache moun ki konn rele yo pou yo vin kenbe rèl la.
17 Nan tout jaden moun ap plenn. Tou sa, paske m’ap vin pini nou. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
18 Sa pral rèd nèt pou moun ki anvi wè jou Seyè a rive! Kisa jou sa a ap fè pou yo? Se pral yon jou fènwa, se p’ap yon jou limyè.
19 Se va tankou yon nonm k’ap kouri pou lapli, epi li tonbe larivyè. Ou ankò, tankou yon moun ki rive lakay li, li mete men l’ sou panno kay la, epi yon krab zarenyen mòde l’.
20 Jou Seyè a ap vini an, va fè nwa kou lank, p’ap fè klate. Se va yon jou fènwa, san yon ti limyè.
21 Seyè a di konsa: Mwen pa vle wè gwo fèt n’ap fè pou mwen yo. Mwen pa ka santi yo. Mwen pa ka sipòte lè nou reyini pou fè sèvis pou mwen.
22 Lè n’a pote bèt pou boule pou mwen, lè n’a fè m’ ofrann gato, sa p’ap fè m’ plezi. Ni mwen p’ap menm gade bèt gra nou pote vin ofri m’ pou di m’ mèsi.
23 Sispann chante kantik nou yo nan zòrèy mwen. Mwen pa vle tande mizik gita nou yo ankò.
24 Tankou dlo k’ap kouri larivyè, se pou nou rann tout moun jistis nan peyi a. Tankou yon kouran dlo k’ap kouri san rete, se pou nou toujou fè sa ki dwat.
25 Nou menm, moun Izrayèl, pandan karantan nou pase nan dezè a, nou janm ofri bèt pou touye pou mwen? Nou janm ofri m’ gato?
26 Se konsa, koulye a nou gen pou nou pote lakay nou pòtre nou te fè pou nou yo: pòtre Sakit, wa nou an, ak pòtre zetwal Kevan an, bondye n’ap sèvi a.
27 M’ap depòte nou nan yon peyi lòt bò Damas. Men sa Seyè a di, li menm yo rele Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a.

Amos 5
1 Écoutez cette parole, Cette complainte que je prononce sur vous, Maison d’Israël!
2 Elle est tombée, elle ne se relèvera plus, La vierge d’Israël; Elle est couchée par terre, Nul ne la relève.
3 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: La ville qui mettait en campagne mille hommes N’en conservera que cent, Et celle qui mettait en campagne cent hommes N’en conservera que dix, pour la maison d’Israël.
4 Car ainsi parle l’Éternel à la maison d’Israël: Cherchez-moi, et vous vivrez!
5 Ne cherchez pas Béthel, N’allez pas à Guilgal, Ne passez pas à Beer Schéba. Car Guilgal sera captif, Et Béthel anéanti.
6 Cherchez l’Éternel, et vous vivrez! Craignez qu’il ne saisisse comme un feu la maison de Joseph, Et que ce feu ne la dévore, sans personne à Béthel pour l’éteindre,
7 O vous qui changez le droit en absinthe, Et qui foulez à terre la justice!
8 Il a créé les Pléiades et l’Orion, Il change les ténèbres en aurore, Il obscurcit le jour pour en faire la nuit, Il appelle les eaux de la mer, Et les répand à la surface de la terre: L’Éternel est son nom.
9 Il fait lever la ruine sur les puissants, Et la ruine vient sur les forteresses.
10 Ils haïssent celui qui les reprend à la porte, Et ils ont en horreur celui qui parle sincèrement.
11 Aussi, parce que vous avez foulé le misérable, Et que vous avez pris de lui du blé en présent, Vous avez bâti des maisons en pierres de taille, Mais vous ne les habiterez pas; Vous avez planté d’excellentes vignes, Mais vous n’en boirez pas le vin.
12 Car, je le sais, vos crimes sont nombreux, Vos péchés se sont multipliés; Vous opprimez le juste, vous recevez des présents, Et vous violez à la porte le droit des pauvres.
13 Voilà pourquoi, en des temps comme ceux-ci, le sage se tait; Car ces temps sont mauvais.
14 Recherchez le bien et non le mal, afin que vous viviez, Et qu’ainsi l’Éternel, le Dieu des armées, soit avec vous, Comme vous le dites.
15 Haïssez le mal et aimez le bien, Faites régner à la porte la justice; Et peut-être l’Éternel, le Dieu des armées, aura pitié Des restes de Joseph.
16 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel, le Dieu des armées, le Seigneur; Dans toutes les places on se lamentera, Dans toutes les rues on dira: Hélas! hélas! On appellera le laboureur au deuil, Et aux lamentations ceux qui disent des complaintes.
17 Dans toutes les vignes on se lamentera, Lorsque je passerai au milieu de toi, dit l’Éternel.
18 Malheur à ceux qui désirent le jour de l’Éternel! Qu’attendez-vous du jour de l’Éternel? Il sera ténèbres et non lumière.
19 Vous serez comme un homme qui fuit devant un lion Et que rencontre un ours, Qui gagne sa demeure, appuie sa main sur la muraille, Et que mord un serpent.
20 Le jour de l’Éternel n’est-il pas ténèbres et non lumière? N’est-il pas obscur et sans éclat?
21 Je hais, je méprise vos fêtes, Je ne puis sentir vos assemblées.
22 Quand vous me présentez des holocaustes et des offrandes, Je n’y prends aucun plaisir; Et les veaux engraissés que vous sacrifiez en actions de grâces, Je ne les regarde pas.
23 Éloigne de moi le bruit de tes cantiques; Je n’écoute pas le son de tes luths.
24 Mais que la droiture soit comme un courant d’eau, Et la justice comme un torrent qui jamais ne tarit.
25 M’avez-vous fait des sacrifices et des offrandes Pendant les quarante années du désert, maison d’Israël?…
26 Emportez donc la tente de votre roi, Le piédestal de vos idoles, L’étoile de votre Dieu Que vous vous êtes fabriqué!
27 Et je vous emmènerai captifs au delà de Damas, Dit l’Éternel, dont le nom est le Dieu des armées.

Amos 5
1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
3 For thus saith the Lord God; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
4 For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
6 Seek the Lord, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name:
9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16 Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the Lord.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the Lord, whose name is The God of hosts.
