Deteronòm 25
1 Lè yon kont pete nan mitan nou, moun ki gen kont yo va ale lajistis pou yo jije ka a. Y’a bay sa ki gen rezon an rezon, sa ki gen tò a tò.
2 Si sa ki gen tò a merite bat, jij la va fè l’ kouche plat atè, epi, l’a devan je l’, l’a fè yo ba li kantite kou li merite pou sa l’ fè a.
3 Nou pa janm gen dwa depase karant kou. Si nou ba li plis, nou ka pini l’ twòp. Lè sa a, n’a avili l’ devan tout moun.
4 Nou pa bezwen mare bouch bèf la pou enpoze l’ manje lè l’ap vire moulen pou kraze ble pou nou.
5 Lè de frè rete ansanm nan menm kay, si yonn ladan yo rive mouri san li pa kite pitit, madan defen an pa ka al marye ak yon moun ki pa nan fanmi an. Se va devwa bòfrè a pou l’ al jwenn vèv la pou l’ marye ak li.
6 Premye pitit gason madanm lan va fè a va pote non frè ki mouri a pou non l’ pa pèdi nan peyi Izrayèl la.
7 Men, si nonm lan pa vle marye ak bèlsè li a, bèlsè a va moute nan tribinal bò pòtay lavil la, epi l’a di chèf fanmi yo: Bòfrè mwen an derefize fè devwa l’. Li pa vle konsève non frè li nan peyi Izrayèl la. Li refize marye avè m’, jan lalwa peyi a mande l’ fè l’ la.
8 Lè sa a, chèf fanmi ki nan lavil la va fè rele nonm lan vin jwenn yo epi y’a pale avè l’. Si li derefize marye avèk bèlsè a,
9 bèlsè a va mache sou li, devan tout chèf fanmi yo, l’a wete yon grenn sapat nan pye nonm lan, l’a krache nan figi l’, epi l’a di: -Men sa ki pou rive yon nonm ki refize bay frè li yon pitit.
10 Nan peyi Izrayèl la, y’a rele fanmi nonm sa a: fanmi nonm grenn sapat la.
11 Si pandan de gason nan moun Izrayèl yo ap goumen, madanm yonn nan yo pwoche pou l’ sove mari l’ anba men lòt k’ap bat li a, epi li lonje men l’, li kenbe lòt lan nan pati li,
12 se pou nou san pitye pou li: koupe men l’ la pou la.
13 Nou pa gen dwa gen de kalite pwa nan sakit nou pou pran pèz, yonn ki bon, yonn ki pa bon,
14 ni de kalite mezi lakay nou, yonn ki bon ak yonn ki pa bon.
15 N’a toujou sèvi ak bon mezi, san wete san mete. Se konsa n’a ka viv lontan nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ap ban nou an.
16 Paske Seyè a pa vle wè moun k’ap fè bagay konsa, moun k’ap fè lenjistis.
17 Pa janm bliye sa Amalèk te fè nou lè nou te sou wout nou ap soti nan peyi Lejip.
18 Yo pa t’ gen krentif Bondye. Yo vin kontre nou sou chemen nou. Lè sa a nou te bouke, kò nou te kraze, epi yo pase pa dèyè, yo touye tout moun ki t’ap trennen dèyè yo.
19 Se poutèt sa, lè Seyè a, Bondye nou an, va ban nou lapè ak tout lènmi sa yo ki antoure nou toupatou nan peyi l’ap ban nou pou rele nou pa nou an, se pou nou touye tout moun Amalèk yo pou pesonn sou latè pa janm chonje yo ankò. Pa bliye sa!

Deuteronome 25
1 Lorsque des hommes, ayant entre eux une querelle, se présenteront en justice pour être jugés, on absoudra l’innocent, et l’on condamnera le coupable.
2 Si le coupable mérite d’être battu, le juge le fera étendre par terre et frapper en sa présence d’un nombre de coups proportionné à la gravité de sa faute.
3 Il ne lui fera pas donner plus de quarante coups, de peur que, si l’on continuait à le frapper en allant beaucoup au delà, ton frère ne fût avili à tes yeux.
4 Tu n’emmuselleras point le boeuf, quand il foulera le grain.
5 Lorsque des frères demeureront ensemble, et que l’un d’eux mourra sans laisser de fils, la femme du défunt ne se mariera point au dehors avec un étranger, mais son beau-frère ira vers elle, la prendra pour femme, et l’épousera comme beau-frère.
6 Le premier-né qu’elle enfantera succédera au frère mort et portera son nom, afin que ce nom ne soit pas effacé d’Israël.
7 Si cet homme ne veut pas prendre sa belle-soeur, elle montera à la porte vers les anciens, et dira: Mon beau-frère refuse de relever en Israël le nom de son frère, il ne veut pas m’épouser par droit de beau-frère.
8 Les anciens de la ville l’appelleront, et lui parleront. S’il persiste, et dit: Je ne veux pas la prendre,
9 alors sa belle-soeur s’approchera de lui en présence des anciens, lui ôtera son soulier du pied, et lui crachera au visage. Et prenant la parole, elle dira: Ainsi sera fait à l’homme qui ne relève pas la maison de son frère.
10 Et sa maison sera appelée en Israël la maison du déchaussé.
11 Lorsque des hommes se querelleront ensemble, l’un avec l’autre, si la femme de l’un s’approche pour délivrer son mari de la main de celui qui le frappe, si elle avance la main et saisit ce dernier par les parties honteuses,
12 tu lui couperas la main, tu ne jetteras sur elle aucun regard de pitié.
13 Tu n’auras point dans ton sac deux sortes de poids, un gros et un petit.
14 Tu n’auras point dans ta maison deux sortes d’épha, un grand et un petit.
15 Tu auras un poids exact et juste, tu auras un épha exact et juste, afin que tes jours se prolongent dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne.
16 Car quiconque fait ces choses, quiconque commet une iniquité, est en abomination à l’Éternel, ton Dieu.
17 Souviens-toi de ce que te fit Amalek pendant la route, lors de votre sortie d’Égypte,
18 comment il te rencontra dans le chemin, et, sans aucune crainte de Dieu, tomba sur toi par derrière, sur tous ceux qui se traînaient les derniers, pendant que tu étais las et épuisé toi-même.
19 Lorsque l’Éternel, ton Dieu, après t’avoir délivré de tous les ennemis qui t’entourent, t’accordera du repos dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne en héritage et en propriété, tu effaceras la mémoire d’Amalek de dessous les cieux: ne l’oublie point.

Deuteronomy 25
1 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2 And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
7 And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
9 Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14 Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
15 But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19 Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
