Ezekyel 16
1 Seyè a pale avè m’ ankò, li di m’ konsa:
2 -Nonm o! Fè moun lavil Jerizalèm yo rekonèt tout vye bagay derespektan yo te fè yo.
3 W’a di moun lavil Jerizalèm yo men mesaj Seyè sèl Mèt la voye ba yo: Nou se moun peyi Kanaran, se la nou fèt. Papa nou te yon moun peyi Amori, manman nou yon moun peyi Et.
4 Jou ou soti nan vant manman ou lan, yo pa t’ koupe kòd lonbrit ou, yo pa t’ lave ou nan dlo pou yo te pwòpte ou, yo pa t’ fwote ou ak gwo sèl, yo pa t’ menm vlope ou nan moso kòt.
5 Pesonn pa t’ gen pitye pou ou pou yo te rann ou yonn nan ti sèvis sa yo. Lè ou te fèt la, pesonn pa t’ vle wè ou, yo voye ou jete nan jaden.
6 Mwen vin ap pase bò la, mwen wè ou t’ap benyen nan san ou. Atout ou t’ap benyen nan san ou, mwen di mwen p’ap kite ou mouri, se pou ou viv.
7 Se pou ou grandi tankou yon plant nan jaden. Ou grandi, ou fòme, ou vin yon bèl jenn fi. Tete ou yo te byen kanpe, pwal te pouse sou kò ou. Men, ou te toutouni.
8 Mwen vin ap pase bò la ankò, mwen wè ou. Ou te rive laj pou ou te renmen. Mwen louvri gwo varèz mwen an sou ou, mwen kouvri kò ou ki te toutouni an. Mwen fè sèman m’ap toujou renmen ou. Wi, mwen pase kontra maryaj avè ou. Se konsa ou vin madanm mwen. Se Seyè ki sèl mèt la ki di sa.
9 Apre sa, mwen pran dlo, mwen lave ou, mwen wete tout san ki te sou kò ou. Mwen basinen ou ak lwil santi bon.
10 Mwen mete bèl rad bwode sou ou, yon pè soulye fèt ak po bazann nan pye ou, yon bèl moso twal fin blan mare nan ren ou, ak yon chal swa.
11 Mwen kouvri ou ak bijou, mwen mete braslè nan ponyèt ou, m’ pase bèl chenn nan kou ou.
12 Mwen mete yon grenn zanno nan nen ou, yon pè zanno nan zòrèy ou ak yon bèl kouwòn sou tèt ou.
13 Ou te plen bijou lò ak bijou ajan. Ou te toujou mete bèl rad twal fin ak rad swa byen bwode sou ou. Ou manje pen ki fèt ak pi bon kalite farin ansanm ak siwo myèl ak lwil. Chak jou ou vin pi bèl, jouk ou rive larenn.
14 Nan tout lòt nasyon yo, yo t’ap nonmen non ou pou jan ou te bèl. Pou bèl ou pa t’ ka pi bèl pase sa paske se mwen menm ki te fè ou bèl konsa. Se mwen menm, Seyè sèl Mèt la, ki di sa.
15 Men, ou kite bèlte ou la fè ou pèdi tèt ou. Ou pwofite dèske tout moun ap nonmen non ou lan pou ou lage kò ou nan dezòd, ou kouche ak dènye moun k’ap pase. Ou lage kò ou ba yo.
16 Ou pran bèl rad koulè ou yo, ou dekore kote w’ap fè sèvis pou lòt bondye sou tèt mòn yo. Tankou yon fanm k’ap fè jennès, ou kouche la ak dènye moun ki vini.
17 Ou pran bijou lò ak bijou ajan mwen te ba ou yo, ou bay yo pou yo fè estati gason. Epi ou kouche ak estati yo.
18 Ou biye estati ou yo ak bèl rad bwode mwen te ba ou yo. Ou pran lwil ak lansan ki te pou mwen yo, ou ofri yo bay estati ou yo.
19 Mwen te ba ou pi bon kalite farin pou fè pen pou ou manje ansanm ak siwo myèl ak lwil. Ou pran yo, ou ofri yo bay zidòl ou yo, ou boule yo nan dife pou yo te ka ba ou chans. Se mwen menm, Seyè sèl Mèt la, ki di wi, se sa ou fè.
20 Apre sa, ou pran pitit gason ak pitit fi ou te fè pou mwen yo, ou al ofri yo bay zidòl yo pou zidòl yo te manje yo. Sa pa t’ ase pou ou te lage kò ou nan tout dezòd sa yo
21 kifè ou te bezwen koupe kou pitit mwen yo, lèfini pou ou te boule yo nan dife pou zidòl ou yo?
22 Pandan tout tan ou t’ap viv nan dezòd sa a, ou pa janm chonje lè ou te piti, lè ou te toutouni ap benyen nan san ou lan?
23 Seyè sèl Mèt la di ankò: -Madichon, madichon pou ou! Lè ou fin fè tout mechanste sa yo,
24 sou tout rebò granchemen yo, ou bati tanp pou sèvi zidòl ou yo, pou fè metye jennès ou a.
25 Nan chak kalfou granchemen, ou bati yon tanp kote ou trennen bèlte ou la nan labou. W’ap ofri tèt ou bay dènye moun k’ap pase. Chak jou ou te vin pi mal.
26 W’ al kouche ak moun peyi Lejip yo, vwazen ou yo ki gwonèg anpil. Ou fè, ou fè jouk ou fè m’ fache.
27 Se konsa, mwen lonje men m’ sou ou pou m’ pini ou, mwen koupe moso nan sa ki te vin pou ou a. Mwen lage ou nan men lènmi ou yo, moun peyi Filisti yo, ki pa t’ ka santi tout vye bagay sal ou t’ap fè yo.
28 Men moun sa yo pa t’ ba ou kont plezi ou, ou kouri al jwenn moun peyi Lasiri yo. Ou kouche ak yo. Men yo menm tou, yo pa t’ ba ou kont plezi ou.
29 W’ al fè jennès ak moun Babilòn yo, gwo kòmèsan sa yo. Men yo menm tou, yo pa t’ ba ou kont plezi ou!
30 Men sa Seyè sèl Mèt la di ankò: Se pa ti move mwen pa t’ move sou ou! Ou fè tou sa tankou yon jennès je kale.
31 Ou bati yon lotèl repozwa nan chak kalfou granchemen. Ou bati tanp sou tout rebò granchemen yo. Men, se pa t’ dèyè lajan ou te ye tankou lòt fanm k’ap fè jennès yo.
32 Ou te tankou yon madan marye ki nan dezòd, ki pito fè bèl ak lòt gason pase pou li renmen mari l’.
33 Yon jennès se peye yo peye sa. Men ou menm, se ou menm ki bay nonm ou yo kado, se ou menm k’ap ofri yo lajan pou yo soti toupatou vin kouche avè ou.
34 Ou pa t’ tankou lòt fanm k’ap fè jennès yo. Pesonn pa t’ fòse ou fè sa. Yo pa t’ peye ou pou sa. Se ou ki t’ap peye moun vin kouche avè ou! Non! Ou pa t’ tankou lòt jennès yo!
35 Koulye a, Jerizalèm, gwo jennès, koute sa Seyè a ap di:
36 Men mesaj Seyè sèl Mèt la voye ba ou: Ou wete tout rad sou ou. Ou rete toutouni nèt pou ou te kouche ak nonm ou yo, ansanm ak tout vye zidòl mwen pa vle wè yo. Lèfini, ou touye pitit ou yo, ou ofri yo bay zidòl.
37 Poutèt tou sa, mwen pral reyini tout ansyen nonm ou yo ki te konn pran plezi yo avè ou, ni sa ou te renmen yo, ni sa ou te rayi yo. M’ap fè yo vin fè wonn bò kote ou. Mwen pral wete dènye rad ki sou ou. Mwen pral kite ou toutouni devan je yo.
38 M’ap pini ou menm jan yo pini fanm k’ap fè adiltè, ak fanm ki touye moun. M’ap fache, m’ap move, m’ap bay lòd pou yo touye ou.
39 M’ap lage ou nan men yo, yo pral demoli dènye lotèl repozwa ou fè pou zidòl ou yo, kote w’ap fè jennès la. Y’ap wete tout rad sou ou, y’ap pran tout bijou ou yo, y’ap kite ou toutouni.
40 Yo pral moute tèt yon foul moun pou yo touye ou ak kout wòch, y’ap filange ou ak nepe yo.
41 Y’ap boule tout kay ou yo, y’ap pini ou devan yon foul medam. M’ap fè ou sispann fè jennès, m’ap fè ou sispann bay nonm ou yo kado.
42 Apre sa, mwen p’ap move sou ou ankò. M’a sispann fè jalouzi. Mwen p’ap fache ankò.
43 Ou pa t’ chonje jan m’ te aji avè ou lè ou te jenn lan. Ou te fè m’ move anpil pou tou sa ou te fè yo. Se poutèt sa mwen te fè ou peye pou tout. Se mwen menm Seyè a, Bondye sèl Mèt la, ki di sa. Poukisa ou fè tout dezòd vakabonday sa yo mete sou tout lòt bagay derespektan ou fè yo?
44 Seyè a di ankò: Koulye a moun ki renmen fè pwovèb yo pral bay yonn sou do lavil Jerizalèm. Yo pral di: Joumou pa donnen kalbas. Pitit fi a ap soti tankou manman l’.
45 Wi, ou se pitit manman ou vre. Li pa t’ vle wè ni mari l’ ni pitit li yo. Ou menm moun ak sè ou yo. Yo menm tou, yo pa t’ vle wè ni mari yo, ni pitit yo. Se yon fanm peyi Et ki te manman nou tout. Se yon moun peyi Amori ki te papa nou.
46 Gran sè ou la rete nan nò. Se lavil Samari ansanm ak tout ti bouk ki sou kont li yo. Ti sè ou la rete nan sid. Se lavil Sodòm ansanm ak tout ti bouk ki sou kont li yo.
47 Ou mache dèyè yo pye pou pye, ou fè tout vye bagay derespektan yo fè. Men, nan tou sa ou fè yo, ou fè pi mal pase yo.
48 Se poutèt sa, jan nou konnen mwen vivan vre a, men sa mwen menm, Seyè sèl Mèt la, m’ap di ou: Sè ou la, lavil Sodòm ansanm ak tout ti bouk ki sou kont li yo, yo pa t’ janm rive fè tou sa ou menm lavil Jerizalèm, ou te fè ansanm ak tout ti bouk ki sou kont ou yo.
49 Kisa lavil Sodòm te fè konsa? Li t’ap gonfle lestonmak li sou moun, paske li te gen kont manje pou l’ manje. Yo t’ap viv kè pòpòz san pwoblèm. Men, yo pa janm lonje men bay pòv malere ak moun ki nan nesesite.
50 Yo kite lògèy vire lòlòj yo, yo fè tèt di, yo fè bagay yo konnen mwen pa vle wè moun fè. Se poutèt sa mwen disparèt yo, jan ou konnen l’ lan.
51 Lavil Samari menm pa t’ fè mwatye nan sa ou fè. Ou fè plis bagay derespektan pase l’. Ou fè sè ou yo pase pou inonsan bò kote ou.
52 Ou pral wont tèt ou pou sa ou fè. Ou sitèlman fè peche ki pi lèd pase sa sè ou yo fè a, ou ba yo rezon, yo parèt inonsan bò kote ou. Wi, se pou ou wont. Se pou ou kache figi ou, paske ou fè sè ou yo pase pou inonsan bò kote ou.
53 Seyè a pale ak lavil Jerizalèm, li di l’ konsa: -M’ap mete yo kanpe ankò, lavil Sodòm ak lavil Samari ansanm ak tout ti bouk ki sou kont yo. Bout pou bout, ou menm tou m’ap mete ou kanpe ankò.
54 Ou pral wont tèt ou pou tou sa ou te fè. Yo pral pale ou mal. Sè ou yo pral wè yo pa pi mal pase sa. Sa pral yon konsolasyon pou yo.
55 Lavil Sodòm ak tout ti bouk li yo pral kanpe ankò jan yo te ye anvan an. Lavil Samari ak tout ti bouk li yo pral kanpe ankò jan yo te ye anvan an. Ou menm tou, lavil Jerizalèm ak tout ti bouk ou yo, nou pral kanpe ankò jan nou te ye anvan an.
56 Lè ou te an penpan an, èske ou pa t’ konn pase Sodòm nan betiz,
57 anvan yo te denonse tout mechanste ou yo? Koulye a, se ou menm moun Aram yo, moun Filisti yo ansanm ak lòt moun nan vwazinaj ki pa vle wè ou yo pral pase nan betiz.
58 Ou pral peye pou tout bagay derespektan ak bagay mwen pa vle wè ou te fè yo. Se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki di sa.
59 Seyè a pale ak lavil Jerizalèm, li di l’ konsa: -Mwen pral boule avè ou jan ou merite l’ la, paske ou pa ka kenbe pawòl ou, ou kase kontra a.
60 Men, m’ap chonje kontra mwen te pase avè ou lè ou te jenn lan. M’ap siyen yon lòt kontra avè ou, yon kontra k’ap la pou tout tan.
61 Ou menm, w’a chonje sa ou te fè, w’a wont lè w’a resevwa gran sè ak ti sè ou yo. M’ap ba ou yo pou pitit fi pa ou malgre sa pa t’ nan kontra a.
62 Wi, se mwen menm k’ap siyen kontra mwen an avè ou ankò. Lè sa a, w’a konnen se mwen menm ki Seyè a.
63 M’ap padonnen ou tou sa ou te fè. Men ou menm, w’ap chonje sa ou te fè yo, w’a wont, ou p’ap ka louvri bouch ou ankò tèlman w’a wont. Se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki di sa.

1 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Fils de l’homme, fais connaître à Jérusalem ses abominations!
3 Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel, à Jérusalem: Par ton origine et ta naissance tu es du pays de Canaan; ton père était un Amoréen, et ta mère une Héthienne.
4 A ta naissance, au jour où tu naquis, ton nombril n’a pas été coupé, tu n’as pas été lavée dans l’eau pour être purifiée, tu n’as pas été frottée avec du sel, tu n’as pas été enveloppée dans des langes.
5 Nul n’a porté sur toi un regard de pitié pour te faire une seule de ces choses, par compassion pour toi; mais tu as été jetée dans les champs, le jour de ta naissance, parce qu’on avait horreur de toi.
6 Je passais près de toi, je t’aperçus baignée dans ton sang, et je te dis: Vis dans ton sang! je te dis: Vis dans ton sang!
7 Je t’ai multipliée par dix milliers, comme les herbes des champs. Et tu pris de l’accroissement, tu grandis, tu devins d’une beauté parfaite; tes seins se formèrent, ta chevelure se développa. Mais tu étais nue, entièrement nue.
8 Je passai près de toi, je te regardai, et voici, ton temps était là, le temps des amours. J’étendis sur toi le pan de ma robe, je couvris ta nudité, je te jurai fidélité, je fis alliance avec toi, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, et tu fus à moi.
9 Je te lavai dans l’eau, je fis disparaître le sang qui était sur toi, et je t’oignis avec de l’huile.
10 Je te donnai des vêtements brodés, et une chaussure de peaux teintes en bleu; je te ceignis de fin lin, et je te couvris de soie.
11 Je te parai d’ornements: je mis des bracelets à tes mains, un collier à ton cou,
12 je mis un anneau à ton nez, des pendants à tes oreilles, et une couronne magnifique sur ta tête.
13 Ainsi tu fus parée d’or et d’argent, et tu fus vêtue de fin lin, de soie et d’étoffes brodées. La fleur de farine, le miel et l’huile, furent ta nourriture. Tu étais d’une beauté accomplie, digne de la royauté.
14 Et ta renommée se répandit parmi les nations, à cause de ta beauté; car elle était parfaite, grâce à l’éclat dont je t’avais ornée, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
15 Mais tu t’es confiée dans ta beauté, et tu t’es prostituée, à la faveur de ton nom; tu as prodigué tes prostitutions à tous les passants, tu t’es livrée à eux.
16 Tu as pris de tes vêtements, tu t’es fait des hauts lieux que tu as garnis d’étoffes de toutes couleurs, et tu t’y es prostituée: rien de semblable n’était arrivé et n’arrivera jamais.
17 Tu as pris ta magnifique parure d’or et d’argent, que je t’avais donnée, et tu en as fait des simulacres d’hommes, auxquels tu t’es prostituée.
18 Tu as pris tes vêtements brodés, tu les en as couverts, et tu as offert à ces simulacres mon huile et mon encens.
19 Le pain que je t’avais donné, la fleur de farine, l’huile et le miel, dont je te nourrissais, tu leur as offert ces choses comme des parfums d’une odeur agréable. Voilà ce qui est arrivé, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
20 Tu as pris tes fils et tes filles, que tu m’avais enfantés, et tu les leur as sacrifiés pour qu’ils leur servent d’aliment: n’était-ce pas assez de tes prostitutions?
21 Tu as égorgé mes fils, et tu les as donnés, en les faisant passer par le feu en leur honneur.
22 Au milieu de toutes tes abominations et de tes prostitutions, tu ne t’es pas souvenue du temps de ta jeunesse, lorsque tu étais nue, entièrement nue, et baignée dans ton sang.
23 Après toutes tes méchantes actions, -malheur, malheur à toi! dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, –
24 tu t’es bâti des maisons de prostitution, tu t’es fait des hauts lieux dans toutes les places;
25 à l’entrée de chaque chemin tu as construit tes hauts lieux, tu as déshonoré ta beauté, tu t’es livrée à tous les passants, tu as multiplié tes prostitutions.
26 Tu t’es prostituée aux Égyptiens, tes voisins au corps vigoureux, et tu as multiplié tes prostitutions pour m’irriter.
27 Et voici, j’ai étendu ma main contre toi, j’ai diminué la part que je t’avais assignée, je t’ai livrée à la volonté de tes ennemis, les filles des Philistins, qui ont rougi de ta conduite criminelle.
28 Tu t’es prostituée aux Assyriens, parce que tu n’étais pas rassasiée; tu t’es prostituée à eux, et tu n’as pas encore été rassasiée.
29 Tu as multiplié tes prostitutions avec le pays de Canaan et jusqu’en Chaldée, et avec cela tu n’as pas encore été rassasiée.
30 Quelle faiblesse de coeur tu as eue, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, en faisant toutes ces choses, qui sont l’oeuvre d’une maîtresse prostituée!
31 Lorsque tu bâtissais tes maisons de prostitution à l’entrée de chaque chemin, lorsque tu faisais tes hauts lieux dans toutes les places, tu n’as pas même été comme la prostituée qui réclame un salaire;
32 tu as été la femme adultère, qui reçoit des étrangers au lieu de son mari.
33 A toutes les prostituées on paie un salaire; mais toi, tu as fait des dons à tous tes amants, tu les as gagnés par des présents, afin de les attirer à toi de toutes parts dans tes prostitutions.
34 Tu as été le contraire des autres prostituées, parce qu’on ne te recherchait pas; et en donnant un salaire au lieu d’en recevoir un, tu as été le contraire des autres.
35 C’est pourquoi, prostituée, écoute la parole de l’Éternel!
36 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Parce que tes trésors ont été dissipés, et que ta nudité a été découverte dans tes prostitutions avec tes amants et avec toutes tes abominables idoles, et à cause du sang de tes enfants que tu leur as donnés,
37 voici, je rassemblerai tous tes amants avec lesquels tu te plaisais, tous ceux que tu as aimés et tous ceux que tu as haïs, je les rassemblerai de toutes parts contre toi, je leur découvrirai ta nudité, et ils verront toute ta nudité.
38 Je te jugerai comme on juge les femmes adultères et celles qui répandent le sang, et je ferai de toi une victime sanglante de la fureur et de la jalousie.
39 Je te livrerai entre leurs mains; ils abattront tes maisons de prostitution et détruiront tes hauts lieux; ils te dépouilleront de tes vêtements, prendront ta magnifique parure, et te laisseront nue, entièrement nue.
40 Ils amèneront la foule contre toi, ils te lapideront et te perceront à coups d’épée;
41 ils brûleront tes maisons par le feu, et ils feront justice de toi, aux yeux d’une multitude de femmes. Je ferai cesser ainsi ton impudicité et tu ne donneras plus de salaire.
42 J’assouvirai ma colère contre toi, et tu ne seras plus l’objet de ma jalousie; je m’apaiserai, je ne serai plus irrité.
43 Parce que tu ne t’es pas souvenue du temps de ta jeunesse, parce que tu m’as provoqué par toutes ces choses, voici, je ferai retomber ta conduite sur ta tête, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, et tu ne commettras plus le crime avec toutes tes abominations.
44 Voici, tous ceux qui disent des proverbes, t’appliqueront ce proverbe: Telle mère, telle fille!
45 Tu es la fille de ta mère, qui a repoussé son mari et ses enfants; tu es la soeur de tes soeurs, qui ont repoussé leur mari et leurs enfants. Votre mère était une Héthienne, et votre père un Amoréen.
46 Ta grande soeur, qui demeure à ta gauche, c’est Samarie avec ses filles; et ta petite soeur, qui demeure à ta droite, c’est Sodome avec ses filles.
47 Tu n’as pas seulement marché dans leurs voies, commis les mêmes abominations, c’était trop peu; tu as été plus corrompue qu’elles dans toutes tes voies.
48 Je suis vivant! dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, Sodome, ta soeur, et ses filles n’ont pas fait ce que vous avez fait, toi et tes filles.
49 Voici quel a été le crime de Sodome, ta soeur. Elle avait de l’orgueil, elle vivait dans l’abondance et dans une insouciante sécurité, elle et ses filles, et elle ne soutenait pas la main du malheureux et de l’indigent.
50 Elles sont devenues hautaines, et elles ont commis des abominations devant moi. Je les ai fait disparaître, quand j’ai vu cela.
51 Samarie n’a pas commis la moitié de tes péchés; tes abominations ont été plus nombreuses que les siennes, et tu as justifié tes soeurs par toutes les abominations que tu as faites.
52 Toi qui condamnais tes soeurs, supporte ton opprobre, à cause de tes péchés par lesquels tu t’es rendue plus abominable qu’elles, et qui les font paraître plus justes que toi; sois confuse, et supporte ton opprobre, puisque tu as justifié tes soeurs.
53 Je ramènerai leurs captifs, les captifs de Sodome et de ses filles, les captifs de Samarie et de ses filles, et tes captifs au milieu des leurs,
54 afin que tu subisses ton opprobre, et que tu rougisses de tout ce que tu as fait, en étant pour elles un sujet de consolation.
55 Tes soeurs, Sodome et ses filles, reviendront à leur premier état, Samarie et ses filles reviendront à leur premier état; et toi et tes filles, vous reviendrez à votre premier état.
56 Ne discourais-tu pas sur ta soeur Sodome, dans le temps de ton orgueil,
57 avant que ta méchanceté soit mise à nu, lorsque tu as reçu les outrages des filles de la Syrie et de tous ses alentours, des filles des Philistins, qui te méprisaient de tous côtés!
58 Tu portes tes crimes et tes abominations, dit l’Éternel.
59 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: J’agirai envers toi comme tu as agi, toi qui as méprisé le serment en rompant l’alliance.
60 Mais je me souviendrai de mon alliance avec toi au temps de ta jeunesse, et j’établirai avec toi une alliance éternelle.
61 Tu te souviendras de ta conduite, et tu en auras honte, quand tu recevras tes soeurs, les grandes et les petites; je te les donnerai pour filles, mais non en vertu de ton alliance.
62 J’établirai mon alliance avec toi, et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel,
63 Afin que tu te souviennes du passé et que tu rougisses, afin que tu n’ouvres plus la bouche et que tu sois confuse, quand je te pardonnerai tout ce que tu as fait, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine.
9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.
13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.
15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord God.
20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord God😉
24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.
25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.
28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied therewith.
30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.
34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:
36 Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord God: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
45 Thou art thy mother’s daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
48 As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:
54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.
55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.
56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.
58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the Lord.
59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord:
63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.
