Jozye 1
1 Apre Moyiz, sèvitè Seyè a, mouri, Seyè a pale ak Jozye, pitit gason Noun lan, ki te aladwat Moyiz nan tou sa li t’ap fè. Li di l’ konsa:
2 -Koulye a, Moyiz, sèvitè m’ lan, mouri. Pare kò ou, ou menm ansanm ak tout pèp Izrayèl la. Nou pral janbe lòt bò larivyè Jouden an pou nou ka antre nan peyi m’ap ban nou an.
3 Jan mwen te di Moyiz la, mwen pral ban nou tout peyi kote nou pral mete pye nou an.
4 Peyi a pral konmanse depi nan dezè a sou bò nan sid, jouk mòn Liban nou wè laba a, nan nò. L’ap pran tout peyi moun Et yo, depi larivyè Lefrat sou bò solèy leve, jouk gwo lanmè a sou bò solèy kouche.
5 Pandan tout rès vi ou, pesonn p’ap ka kenbe tèt ak ou. M’ap toujou kanpe la avèk ou, menm jan mwen te toujou la avèk Moyiz. Mwen p’ap vire do ba ou, mwen p’ap janm lage ou.
6 Mete gason sou ou! Pa janm dekouraje, paske se ou menm ki pral fè pèp la antre pran peyi mwen te fè sèman m’ap bay zansèt yo a.
7 Wi. Sèl bagay mwen mande ou, se mete gason sou ou, pa janm dekouraje. Veye kò ou pou ou mache dapre tout lòd Moyiz, sèvitè m’ lan, te ba ou yo. Pa janm neglije anyen nan sa li te di ou, pou zafè ou ka mache byen kote ou pase.
8 Se pou pawòl ki nan liv lalwa a toujou nan bouch ou. Se pou w’ap kalkile yo nan tèt ou lajounen kou lannwit, pou ou ka viv dapre sa ki ekri nan liv la. Se konsa w’a mennen bak ou byen. Tout zafè ou va mache byen.
9 Chonje lòd mwen te ba ou! Mete gason sou ou! Pa janm dekouraje! Ou pa bezwen tranble, ou pa bezwen pè, paske Seyè a, Bondye ou la, ap toujou kanpe la avèk ou kote ou pase.
10 Lè sa a, Jozye rele tout chèf pèp la. Li ba yo lòd sa a:
11 -Mache nan tout kan an. Bay pèp la lòd pou yo pare tout zafè yo, paske nan twa jou nou pral janbe lòt bò larivyè Jouden an pou nou antre nan peyi Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ap ban nou pou peyi pa nou.
12 Apre sa, Jozye pale ak moun branch fanmi Woubenn yo ak moun branch fanmi Gad yo ansanm ak mwatye moun nan branch fanmi Manase a. Li di yo:
13 -Chonje lòd Moyiz, sèvitè Seyè a, te ban nou lè li te di nou: Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ap ban nou tè bò isit la pou nou tabli, pou nou viv ak kè poze.
14 Madanm nou, pitit nou ak tout bèt nou yo pral rete nan peyi Moyiz ban nou sou bò isit larivyè Jouden an, bò solèy leve a. Men, nou menm gason yo, vanyan sòlda, se pou nou pran zam nou nan men nou pou nou mache devan tout rès pèp la, pou nou ka ede yo, si gen nesesite.
15 Lè Seyè a va fin fè yo pran peyi a pou yo, lè l’a fin ba yo yon kote pou yo viv ak kè poze, menm jan li te fè l’ pou nou an, se lè sa a atò n’a tounen nan peyi ki pou nou an. Wi, n’a vin rete nan peyi pa nou an, peyi Moyiz, sèvitè Bondye a, te ban nou lòt bò larivyè Jouden an, sou bò solèy leve.
16 Yo tout yo reponn Jozye, yo di l’: -Tou sa ou ban nou lòd fè, n’ap fè l’! Kote ou voye nou, nou prale!
17 Menm jan nou te toujou obeyi Moyiz, se konsa n’ap obeyi ou tou. Sèl bagay, n’ap lapriyè pou Bondye toujou kanpe avè ou menm jan li te kanpe ak Moyiz la.
18 Se pou yo touye tout moun ki pa dakò ak lòd ou, osinon ki pa vle obeyi lòd ou bay, osinon ki derefize fè sa ou mande yo fè. Sèlman, met gason sou ou! Pa janm dekouraje!

Josué 1
1 Après la mort de Moïse, serviteur de l’Éternel, l’Éternel dit à Josué, fils de Nun, serviteur de Moïse:
2 Moïse, mon serviteur, est mort; maintenant, lève-toi, passe ce Jourdain, toi et tout ce peuple, pour entrer dans le pays que je donne aux enfants d’Israël.
3 Tout lieu que foulera la plante de votre pied, je vous le donne, comme je l’ai dit à Moïse.
4 Vous aurez pour territoire depuis le désert et le Liban jusqu’au grand fleuve, le fleuve de l’Euphrate, tout le pays des Héthiens, et jusqu’à la grande mer vers le soleil couchant.
5 Nul ne tiendra devant toi, tant que tu vivras. Je serai avec toi, comme j’ai été avec Moïse; je ne te délaisserai point, je ne t’abandonnerai point.
6 Fortifie-toi et prends courage, car c’est toi qui mettras ce peuple en possession du pays que j’ai juré à leurs pères de leur donner.
7 Fortifie-toi seulement et aie bon courage, en agissant fidèlement selon toute la loi que Moïse, mon serviteur, t’a prescrite; ne t’en détourne ni à droite ni à gauche, afin de réussir dans tout ce que tu entreprendras.
8 Que ce livre de la loi ne s’éloigne point de ta bouche; médite-le jour et nuit, pour agir fidèlement selon tout ce qui y est écrit; car c’est alors que tu auras du succès dans tes entreprises, c’est alors que tu réussiras.
9 Ne t’ai-je pas donné cet ordre: Fortifie-toi et prends courage? Ne t’effraie point et ne t’épouvante point, car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, est avec toi dans tout ce que tu entreprendras.
10 Josué donna cet ordre aux officiers du peuple:
11 Parcourez le camp, et voici ce que vous commanderez au peuple: Préparez-vous des provisions, car dans trois jours vous passerez ce Jourdain pour aller conquérir le pays dont l’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous donne la possession.
12 Josué dit aux Rubénites, aux Gadites et à la demi-tribu de Manassé:
13 Rappelez-vous ce que vous a prescrit Moïse, serviteur de l’Éternel, quand il a dit: L’Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a accordé du repos, et vous a donné ce pays.
14 Vos femmes, vos petits enfants et vos troupeaux resteront dans le pays que vous a donné Moïse de ce côté-ci du Jourdain; mais vous tous, hommes vaillants, vous passerez en armes devant vos frères, et vous les aiderez,
15 jusqu’à ce que l’Éternel ait accordé du repos à vos frères comme à vous, et qu’ils soient aussi en possession du pays que l’Éternel, votre Dieu, leur donne. Puis vous reviendrez prendre possession du pays qui est votre propriété, et que vous a donné Moïse, serviteur de l’Éternel, de ce côté-ci du Jourdain, vers le soleil levant.
16 Ils répondirent à Josué, en disant: Nous ferons tout ce que tu nous as ordonné, et nous irons partout où tu nous enverras.
17 Nous t’obéirons entièrement, comme nous avons obéi à Moïse. Veuille seulement l’Éternel, ton Dieu, être avec toi, comme il a été avec Moïse!
18 Tout homme qui sera rebelle à ton ordre, et qui n’obéira pas à tout ce que tu lui commanderas, sera puni de mort. Fortifie-toi seulement, et prends courage!

Joshua 1
1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it.
12 And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,
13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
15 Until the Lord have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the Lord your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord‘s servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
16 And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17 According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
