1 Lè wa Salomon fin bati Tanp Seyè a, palè wa a ak tout lòt bagay li te gen lide fè yo,

3 Seyè a di l’ konsa: -Mwen tande lapriyè ou la. Mwen mete tanp ou bati a apa pou sèvis mwen. Se la pou moun adore m’ tout tan. M’ap voye je sou li, m’ap toujou pwoteje l’.
4 Si ou mache devan m’ tankou David, papa ou, ak tout kè ou jan ou dwe fè l’ la, si ou fè tout sa mwen mande ou fè, si ou koute lòd ak bon prensip mwen yo, m’a fè gouvènman ou lan kanpe fèm nan peyi Izrayèl la pou tout tan,
5 m’a kenbe pwomès mwen te fè David, papa ou la, lè m’ te di l’ ap toujou gen yon moun nan fanmi li ki pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la.
6 Men, si ou menm osinon yonn nan pitit ou yo vire do ban mwen, si nou pa fè sa m’ mande nou fè, si nou pa koute lòd mwen ban nou, si n’ al sèvi lòt bondye, si n’ al adore lòt bondye,
7 lè sa a, m’ap wete pèp Izrayèl la nan peyi mwen ba yo a. M’ap vire do bay tanp mwen te mete apa tankou kote pou yo fè sèvis pou mwen an. Moun toupatou va pase pèp Izrayèl la nan betiz, y’a fè chante sou li.
8 Tanp sa a va tounen yon vye mazi. Tout moun ki va pase bò la va sezi, y’a met men nan bouch. y’a mande poukisa Seyè a fè peyi a ak tanp lan sa.
9 y’a reponn yo: Se paske yo te vire do bay Seyè a, Bondye yo a, ki te fè zansèt yo soti kite peyi Lejip. Yo kouri al jwenn lòt bondye, yo fè sèvis pou yo, yo adore yo. Se poutèt sa Seyè a te voye malè sa a sou yo.
10 Wa Salomon te pran ventan pou l’ bati tanp Seyè a ak palè wa a.
11 Iram, wa peyi Tir, te ba li tout bwa sèd ak bwa pichpen ansanm ak tout lò li te bezwen pou l’ fè travay la. Lè travay la fini, wa Salomon bay Iram ven lavil nan zòn Galile a.
12 Iram kite peyi l’, Tir, li desann al wè lavil Salomon te ba li yo. Men, li pa t’ renmen yo.
13 Li di Salomon konsa: -Se lavil sa yo ou wè pou ou ban mwen, frè mwen! Yo pa vo anyen. Se poutèt sa, depi lè sa a rive jòdi a, yo rele zòn sa a Nan Kaboul.
14 Iram te voye senk tòn lò an total bay Salomon.
15 Wa Salomon te fè moun fè kòve pou bati tanp Seyè a ak palè pa l’ la, pou mete ranblè plen bò solèy leve lavil la ak pou bati gwo miray lavil la. Li sèvi ak moun kòve yo tou pou l’ rebati lavil Azò, lavil Megido ak lavil Gezè.
16 Lontan anvan sa, farawon an, wa peyi Lejip la, te moute atake lavil Gezè. Li pran l’, li touye tout moun Kanaran ki te rete la, lèfini li mete dife ladan l’. Apre sa, li fè pitit fi l’ la kado l’ lè li te marye ak wa Salomon.
17 Salomon rebati lavil Gezè, li rebati lavil Bètowon ki nan fon an,
18 lavil Balat ak lavil Tama nan dezè Jida a.
19 Li rebati tout lavil kote yo te fè depo pwovizyon Salomon yo, lavil pou chwal li yo ak pou cha lagè li yo, ak tou sa li te vle bati ni lavil Jerizalèm, ni nan peyi Liban, ni nan tout lòt peyi ki te sou lòd li yo.
20 Te gen moun Amori yo, moun Et yo, moun Ferezi yo, moun Evi yo ak moun Jebis yo.
21 Lè moun Izrayèl yo te fin pran peyi Kanaran an pou yo, gen anpil nan moun ansyen mèt peyi a yo pa t’ touye pou Bondye. Yo te kite yo rete nan peyi a. Se pitit moun sa yo Salomon te pran sèvi esklav pou fè kòve. Se sa k’ap fèt jouk jounen jòdi a.
22 Salomon pa t’ fè ankenn moun nan pèp Izrayèl la sèvi esklav. Li te fè yo sèvi sòlda, ofisye, chèf, kaptenn ak kòmandan cha lagè yo ak kavalye yo.
23 Te gen senksansenkant (550) fòmann gouvènè yo te nonmen reskonsab travay li yo. Se yo ki t’ap dirije moun ki t’ap travay yo.
24 Pitit fi farawon an kite Lavil David la, l’ al rete nan palè Salomon te bati pou li a. Se apre sa Salomon fè ranbleye pòsyon ki bay sou solèy leve a.
25 Twa fwa chak lanne, Salomon te ofri bèt pou yo boule nèt pou Bondye ak ofrann pou di Bondye mèsi sou lotèl li te bati pou Seyè a, epi li fè boule lansan sou lotèl ki devan Seyè a. Se konsa, li te fè Tanp lan sèvi pou sa yo te bati l’ la.
26 Wa Salomon te bati yon bann gwo batiman lavil Ezyongebè ki te toupre Elat, bò lanmè Wouj la, nan pòsyon tè ki pou Edon an.
27 wa Iram te voye kèk moun peyi l’ ki te bon maren pou sèvi ansanm ak moun Salomon yo sou batiman yo.
28 Yo vwayaje rive peyi Ofi kote y’ al chache sèz tòn lò pote bay Salomon.

1 Lorsque Salomon eut achevé de bâtir la maison de l’Éternel, la maison du roi, et tout ce qu’il lui plut de faire,
2 l’Éternel apparut à Salomon une seconde fois, comme il lui était apparu à Gabaon.
3 Et l’Éternel lui dit: J’exauce ta prière et ta supplication que tu m’as adressées, je sanctifie cette maison que tu as bâtie pour y mettre à jamais mon nom, et j’aurai toujours là mes yeux et mon coeur.
4 Et toi, si tu marches en ma présence comme a marché David, ton père, avec sincérité de coeur et avec droiture, faisant tout ce que je t’ai commandé, si tu observes mes lois et mes ordonnances,
5 j’établirai pour toujours le trône de ton royaume en Israël, comme je l’ai déclaré à David, ton père, en disant: Tu ne manqueras jamais d’un successeur sur le trône d’Israël.
6 Mais si vous vous détournez de moi, vous et vos fils, si vous n’observez pas mes commandements, mes lois que je vous ai prescrites, et si vous allez servir d’autres dieux et vous prosterner devant eux,
7 j’exterminerai Israël du pays que je lui ai donné, je rejetterai loin de moi la maison que j’ai consacrée à mon nom, et Israël sera un sujet de sarcasme et de raillerie parmi tous les peuples.
8 Et si haut placée qu’ait été cette maison, quiconque passera près d’elle sera dans l’étonnement et sifflera. On dira: Pourquoi l’Éternel a-t-il ainsi traité ce pays et cette maison?
9 Et l’on répondra: Parce qu’ils ont abandonné l’Éternel, leur Dieu, qui a fait sortir leurs pères du pays d’Égypte, parce qu’ils se sont attachés à d’autres dieux, se sont prosternés devant eux et les ont servis; voilà pourquoi l’Éternel a fait venir sur eux tous ces maux.
10 Au bout de vingt ans, Salomon avait bâti les deux maisons, la maison de l’Éternel et la maison du roi.
11 Alors, comme Hiram, roi de Tyr, avait fourni à Salomon des bois de cèdre et des bois de cyprès, et de l’or, autant qu’il en voulut, le roi Salomon donna à Hiram vingt villes dans le pays de Galilée.
12 Hiram sortit de Tyr, pour voir les villes que lui donnait Salomon. Mais elles ne lui plurent point,
13 et il dit: Quelles villes m’as-tu données là, mon frère? Et il les appela pays de Cabul, nom qu’elles ont conservé jusqu’à ce jour.
14 Hiram avait envoyé au roi cent vingt talents d’or.
15 Voici ce qui concerne les hommes de corvée que leva le roi Salomon pour bâtir la maison de l’Éternel et sa propre maison, Millo, et le mur de Jérusalem, Hatsor, Meguiddo et Guézer.
16 Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, était venu s’emparer de Guézer, l’avait incendiée, et avait tué les Cananéens qui habitaient dans la ville. Puis il l’avait donnée pour dot à sa fille, femme de Salomon.
17 Et Salomon bâtit Guézer, Beth Horon la basse,
18 Baalath, et Thadmor, au désert dans le pays,
19 toutes les villes servant de magasins et lui appartenant, les villes pour les chars, les villes pour la cavalerie, et tout ce qu’il plut à Salomon de bâtir à Jérusalem, au Liban, et dans tout le pays dont il était le souverain.
20 Tout le peuple qui était resté des Amoréens, des Héthiens, des Phéréziens, des Héviens et des Jébusiens, ne faisant point partie des enfants d’Israël,
21 leurs descendants qui étaient restés après eux dans le pays et que les enfants d’Israël n’avaient pu dévouer par interdit, Salomon les leva comme esclaves de corvée, ce qu’ils ont été jusqu’à ce jour.
22 Mais Salomon n’employa point comme esclaves les enfants d’Israël; car ils étaient des hommes de guerre, ses serviteurs, ses chefs, ses officiers, les commandants de ses chars et de sa cavalerie.
23 Les chefs préposés par Salomon sur les travaux étaient au nombre de cinq cent cinquante, chargés de surveiller les ouvriers.
24 La fille de Pharaon monta de la cité de David dans sa maison que Salomon lui avait construite. Ce fut alors qu’il bâtit Millo.
25 Salomon offrit trois fois dans l’année des holocaustes et des sacrifices d’actions de grâces sur l’autel qu’il avait bâti à l’Éternel, et il brûla des parfums sur celui qui était devant l’Éternel. Et il acheva la maison.
26 Le roi Salomon construisit des navires à Etsjon Guéber, près d’Éloth, sur les bords de la mer Rouge, dans le pays d’Édom.
27 Et Hiram envoya sur ces navires, auprès des serviteurs de Salomon, ses propres serviteurs, des matelots connaissant la mer.
28 Ils allèrent à Ophir, et ils y prirent de l’or, quatre cent vingt talents, qu’ils apportèrent au roi Salomon.

1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
2 That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?
9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.
10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king’s house,
11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
15 And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the nether,
18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
19 And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,
21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.
22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.
24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.
25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the Lord, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the Lord. So he finished the house.
26 And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.
27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
28 And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
