1 Mwen wè malè pou lotèl Bondye a, lavil Jerizalèm! Mwen wè malè pou lavil kote David te moute kan li an. Kite ennan, dezan konsa pase, kite tout fèt yo fin pase,
2 Seyè a pral voye yon sèl lafliksyon sou lotèl Bondye a. Moun pral rele, yo pral plenn. Lavil la pral tounen yon lotèl Bondye tout bon kote y’ap ofri bèt yo touye pou li.
3 Bondye pral atake lavil la tankou David te fè l’ la. Li pral sènen l’ ak sòlda. L’ap fèmen l’ toupatou.
4 Lavil Jerizalèm pral tankou yon moun anba tè k’ap pale. Pousyè tè ap toufe pawòl nan bouch li. Antan li anba tè a, l’ap pale tankou yon zonbi ak yon vwa nan nen tou fèb!
5 Men, tout lènmi ou yo pral gaye tankou pousyè nan van. Tout kantite moun ki t’ap fè ou pase tray yo pral disparèt tankou pay van ap bwote. W’ap rete konsa,
6 Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a ap parèt sou ou, avèk gwo van loraj, tranblemanntè, ak yon pakèt gwo bri, avèk siklòn, van tanpèt ak gwo flanm dife k’ap boule.
7 Lè sa a, tout bann moun lòt nasyon yo ki t’ap fè lagè avèk lotèl Bondye a, tout gwo lame ki te anvayi peyi a, ki te sènen lavil la, ki t’ap toufounen l’ kote l’ te ye a, yo tout yo pral disparèt tankou yon move rèv ou t’ap fè, tankou yon vizyon w’ap fè nan mitan lannwit.
8 Wi, tout bann moun lòt nasyon yo ki t’ap fè lagè ak lavil Jerizalèm sou mòn Siyon an, y’ap tankou yon moun k’ap mouri grangou epi ki reve l’ap manje. Men, lè li leve, li grangou pi rèd. Osinon, tankou yon moun k’ap mouri swaf dlo, li reve l’ap bwè dlo. Men, lè li leve, li tou fèb, li swaf dlo pi rèd.
9 Nou pral sezi, nou pral rete bèbè! Fèmen je nou pou nou pa wè! Nou pral sou, san nou pa menm bwè. N’ap titibe san nou pa pran yon gout gwòg!
10 Paske Seyè a fè nou anvi dòmi. Li fè je nou vin lou. Pwofèt yo, se je pèp la yo ye! Li kouvri tèt nou. Divinò yo, se tèt pèp la yo ye.
11 Nou pa ka konprann tou sa Bondye fè nou konnen la a. Y’ap tankou yon liv yo sele. Si nou pote l’ bay yon moun ki konn li pou nou mande l’ li l’ pou nou, l’ap reponn nou li pa kapab, paske liv la sele.
12 Lè ou pote l’ bay yon moun ki pa konn li pou ou mande l’ li l’ pou ou, l’ap reponn ou li pa konn li.
13 Seyè a di: -Lè moun sa yo ap fè sèvis pou mwen, se pawòl nan bouch! Y’ap louvri bouch yo pou fè lwanj mwen, men lespri yo byen lwen. Si y’ap mache di yo gen krentif pou mwen, se pawòl granmoun lontan moutre yo y’ap repete lè konsa.
14 Se poutèt sa, mwen pral fè yon lòt seri mèvèy ak mirak devan je yo. Mwen pral detounen bon konprann moun save yo. Moun lespri yo ak tout konesans yo p’ap konprann anyen.
15 Madichon pou moun k’ap kache Seyè a sa yo gen lide fè! Y’ap fè plan yo an kachèt. Y’ap di pa gen moun ki wè yo. Pa gen moun k’ap konnen sa y’ap fè.
16 Nou vire tout bagay lanvè! Kilès ki pi konsekan, moun k’ap fè krich yo osinon tè wouj la? Eske bagay yon nonm fè ka di moun ki fè l’ la se pa ou ki fè m’? Eske yon krich ka di moun ki fè l’ la se moun sòt ou ye?
17 Anvan nou bat je nou, rakbwa peyi Liban tounen jaden, jaden tounen rakbwa.
18 Jou sa a, moun soudè yo va tande pawòl y’ap li nan liv. Avèg yo ki t’ap viv nan fènwa va louvri je yo, y’a wè.
19 Seyè a va fè tipitit yo gen kè kontan ankò. Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, li menm ki yon Bondye apa, va fè malere yo danse tèlman y’a kontan.
20 Paske lwijanboje a pral jwenn ak bout li. Moun ki t’ap pase Bondye nan betiz la pral disparèt. Yo pral fini ak tout moun ki t’ap chache okazyon pou fè sa ki mal,
21 moun k’ap fè inonsan peye pou koupab, moun k’ap antrave travay jij yo nan tribinal, moun k’ap bay manti pou moun serye pa jwenn jistis.
22 Se poutèt sa, koulye a, men sa Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, Bondye ki te delivre Abraram lan, di: Moun Jakòb yo p’ap janm wont ankò. Figi yo p’ap dekonpoze ankò.
23 Lè y’a wè pitit mwen menm m’ap ba yo nan kò kay yo, y’a rekonèt se yon Bondye apa mwen ye. Y’a rekonèt Bondye fanmi Jakòb la se yon Bondye apa. Y’a respekte m’, y’a genyen m’ krentif.
24 Moun ki te pèdi tèt yo va rive gen bon konprann. Moun ki te toujou ap bougonnen yo va kontan aprann nan men mwen.

Ésaïe 29
1 Malheur à Ariel, à Ariel, Cité dont David fit sa demeure! Ajoutez année à année, Laissez les fêtes accomplir leur cycle.
2 Puis j’assiégerai Ariel; Il y aura des plaintes et des gémissements; Et la ville sera pour moi comme un Ariel.
3 Je t’investirai de toutes parts, Je te cernerai par des postes armés, J’élèverai contre toi des retranchements.
4 Tu seras abaissée, ta parole viendra de terre, Et les sons en seront étouffés par la poussière; Ta voix sortira de terre comme celle d’un spectre, Et c’est de la poussière que tu murmureras tes discours.
5 La multitude de tes ennemis sera comme une fine poussière, Cette multitude de guerriers sera comme la balle qui vole, Et cela tout à coup, en un instant.
6 C’est de l’Éternel des armées que viendra le châtiment, Avec des tonnerres, des tremblements de terre et un bruit formidable, Avec l’ouragan et la tempête, Et avec la flamme d’un feu dévorant.
7 Et, comme il en est d’un songe, d’une vision nocturne, Ainsi en sera-t-il de la multitude des nations qui combattront Ariel, De tous ceux qui l’attaqueront, elle et sa forteresse, Et qui la serreront de près.
8 Comme celui qui a faim rêve qu’il mange, Puis s’éveille, l’estomac vide, Et comme celui qui a soif rêve qu’il boit, Puis s’éveille, épuisé et languissant; Ainsi en sera-t-il de la multitude des nations Qui viendront attaquer la montagne de Sion.
9 Soyez stupéfaits et étonnés! Fermez les yeux et devenez aveugles! Ils sont ivres, mais ce n’est pas de vin; Ils chancellent, mais ce n’est pas l’effet des liqueurs fortes.
10 Car l’Éternel a répandu sur vous un esprit d’assoupissement; Il a fermé vos yeux (les prophètes), Il a voilé vos têtes (les voyants).
11 Toute la révélation est pour vous comme les mots d’un livre cacheté Que l’on donne à un homme qui sait lire, en disant: Lis donc cela! Et qui répond: Je ne le puis, Car il est cacheté;
12 Ou comme un livre que l’on donne A un homme qui ne sait pas lire, en disant: Lis donc cela! Et qui répond: Je ne sais pas lire.
13 Le Seigneur dit: Quand ce peuple s’approche de moi, Il m’honore de la bouche et des lèvres; Mais son coeur est éloigné de moi, Et la crainte qu’il a de moi N’est qu’un précepte de tradition humaine.
14 C’est pourquoi je frapperai encore ce peuple Par des prodiges et des miracles; Et la sagesse de ses sages périra, Et l’intelligence de ses hommes intelligents disparaîtra.
15 Malheur à ceux qui cachent leurs desseins Pour les dérober à l’Éternel, Qui font leurs oeuvres dans les ténèbres, Et qui disent: Qui nous voit et qui nous connaît?
16 Quelle perversité est la vôtre! Le potier doit-il être considéré comme de l’argile, Pour que l’ouvrage dise de l’ouvrier: Il ne m’a point fait? Pour que le vase dise du potier: Il n’a point d’intelligence?
17 Encore un peu de temps, Et le Liban se changera en verger, Et le verger sera considéré comme une forêt.
18 En ce jour-là, les sourds entendront les paroles du livre; Et, délivrés de l’obscurité et des ténèbres, Les yeux des aveugles verront.
19 Les malheureux se réjouiront de plus en plus en l’Éternel, Et les pauvres feront du Saint d’Israël le sujet de leur allégresse.
20 Car le violent ne sera plus, le moqueur aura fini, Et tous ceux qui veillaient pour l’iniquité seront exterminés,
21 Ceux qui condamnaient les autres en justice, Tendaient des pièges à qui défendait sa cause à la porte, Et violaient par la fraude les droits de l’innocent.
22 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle l’Éternel à la maison de Jacob, Lui qui a racheté Abraham: Maintenant Jacob ne rougira plus, Maintenant son visage ne pâlira plus.
23 Car, lorsque ses enfants verront au milieu d’eux l’oeuvre de mes mains, Ils sanctifieront mon nom; Ils sanctifieront le Saint de Jacob, Et ils craindront le Dieu d’Israël;
24 Ceux dont l’esprit s’égarait acquerront de l’intelligence, Et ceux qui murmuraient recevront instruction.

Isaiah 29
1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.
3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.
4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
6 Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.
8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.
22 Therefore thus saith the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
