Amòs 6
1 Sa pral rèd nèt pou moun k’ap mennen lavi dous nan peyi Siyon an, pou moun sou mòn Samari ki kwè pa gen danje pou yo! Yo pase pou lelit nan peyi Izrayèl, premye peyi sou latè. Se bò kote yo pèp la ap kouri vini. Yo di:
2 Al gade sa k’ap pase lavil Kalne. Apre sa, ale pase bò gwo lavil Amat la. Lèfini, desann kay moun Filisti yo lavil Gat. Eske zafè yo pi bon pase zafè peyi Jida ak zafè peyi Izrayèl? Eske peyi yo a pi gran pase pa nou yo?
3 N’ap twonpe tèt nou, nou refize admèt jou malè a fin rive sou nou. Men, se nou menm ankò k’ap rale malè sou peyi a.
4 Sa pral rèd nèt pou moun ki kouche sou bèl kabann, k’ap layite kò yo sou bon matla dous, k’ap manje jenn ti mouton ak jenn ti bèf!
5 Y’ap plede ranse pandan gita ap jwe. Yo kwè yo jwe mizik tankou David.
6 Y’ap bwè diven san gad dèyè, y’ap pase pi bon kalite odè ki genyen sou yo. Men, yo pa gen lapenn pou malè k’ap tonbe sou pitit pitit Jozèf yo.
7 Se poutèt sa, premye moun y’ap depòte se yo menm. Sosyete moun k’ap fè banbòch yo va disparèt.
8 Seyè a, Bondye sèl Mèt la, te fè sèman sou tèt li. Men avètisman Seyè a, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, bay: Mwen pa ka sipòte lògèy pèp Izrayèl la gen nan kè li. Mwen pa ka wè gwo kay y’ap plede bati yo. M’ap lage kapital la nan men lènmi ak tout moun ladan l’.
9 Si gen dis gason nan yon kay ki rete, y’ap touye yo.
10 Lè yon fanmi moun mouri a va vin pran kadav la anndan kay la pou li al antere l’, l’a pale ak moun ki nan fon kay la, l’a mande: Eske gen moun la ankò ak ou? Yon vwa va reponn: Non, pa genyen. Lè sa a, l’a di: Pe bouch nou! Pa nonmen non Bondye nan bagay sa a!
11 Men lòd Seyè a bay: Y’ap kraze gwo kay yo an miyèt moso. Y’ap demoli ti kay yo.
12 Eske chwal ka kouri sou glasi? Eske moun ka raboure lanmè avèk bèf? Men nou menm, nou fè lajistis tounen pwazon, nou fè inonsan pase pou koupab.
13 Nou fè kè nou kontan paske nou pran lavil Lodeba. N’ap plede di: O wi, se avèk fòs kouraj nou nou pran kòn lan.
14 Men sa Seyè a, li menm ki Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, di: Nou menm, moun Izrayèl, m’ap fè yon nasyon leve dèyè nou. Wi, se mwen menm menm k’ap fè sa, yon nasyon k’ap pran peyi a nan men nou, yon nasyon ki pral peze nou depi nan pas Amat nan nò rive jouk ravin Araba nan sid.

1 Malheur à ceux qui vivent tranquilles dans Sion, Et en sécurité sur la montagne de Samarie, A ces grands de la première des nations, Auprès desquels va la maison d’Israël!…
2 Passez à Calné et voyez, Allez de là jusqu’à Hamath la grande, Et descendez à Gath chez les Philistins: Ces villes sont-elles plus prospères que vos deux royaumes, Et leur territoire est-il plus étendu que le vôtre?…
3 Vous croyez éloigner le jour du malheur, Et vous faites approcher le règne de la violence.
4 Ils reposent sur des lits d’ivoire, Ils sont mollement étendus sur leurs couches; Ils mangent les agneaux du troupeau, Les veaux mis à l’engrais.
5 Ils extravaguent au son du luth, Ils se croient habiles comme David sur les instruments de musique.
6 Ils boivent le vin dans de larges coupes, Ils s’oignent avec la meilleure huile, Et ils ne s’attristent pas sur la ruine de Joseph!
7 C’est pourquoi ils seront emmenés à la tête des captifs; Et les cris de joie de ces voluptueux cesseront.
8 Le Seigneur, l’Éternel, l’a juré par lui-même; L’Éternel, le Dieu des armées, a dit: J’ai en horreur l’orgueil de Jacob, Et je hais ses palais; Je livrerai la ville et tout ce qu’elle renferme.
9 Et s’il reste dix hommes dans une maison, ils mourront.
10 Lorsqu’un parent prendra un mort pour le brûler Et qu’il enlèvera de la maison les ossements, Il dira à celui qui est au fond de la maison: Y a-t-il encore quelqu’un avec toi? Et cet homme répondra: Personne… Et l’autre dira: Silence! Ce n’est pas le moment de prononcer le nom de l’Éternel.
11 Car voici, l’Éternel ordonne: Il fera tomber en ruines la grande maison, Et en débris la petite maison.
12 Est-ce que les chevaux courent sur un rocher, Est-ce qu’on y laboure avec des boeufs, Pour que vous ayez changé la droiture en poison, Et le fruit de la justice en absinthe?
13 Vous vous réjouissez de ce qui n’est que néant, Vous dites: N’est-ce pas par notre force Que nous avons acquis de la puissance?
14 C’est pourquoi voici, je ferai lever contre vous, maison d’Israël, Dit l’Éternel, le Dieu des armées, une nation Qui vous opprimera depuis l’entrée de Hamath Jusqu’au torrent du désert.

1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
8 The Lord God hath sworn by himself, saith the Lord the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
10 And a man’s uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the Lord.
11 For, behold, the Lord commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
