1 Manase te gen douzan lè li moute wa peyi Jida. Li gouvènen nan lavil Jerizalèm pandan senkannsenkan.
2 Li fè sa ki mal devan Seyè a, dapre vye prensip krimenèl lòt nasyon Seyè a te mete deyò pou fè plas pou moun pèp Izrayèl yo.
3 Li rebati tanp bondye lòt nasyon Ezekyas, papa l’, te fè kraze yo. Li bati lotèl pou Baal, li fè yon estati Achera. Lèfini, li adore dènye zetwal ki nan syèl la, li fè sèvis pou yo.
4 Li menm rive bati lotèl pou zidòl nan Tanp Seyè a menm, kote Seyè a te di se la l’ap rete nan lavil Jerizalèm pou toutan.
5 Li fè bati lotèl nan de lakou tanp Seyè a pou tout zetwal ki nan syèl la.
6 Li ofri pitit gason l’ pou yo boule sou lotèl zidòl yo nan Fon Inon an. Li lage kò l’ nan li nwaj nan syèl la ak nan fè maji pou konnen sa ki gen pou rive. Li ankouraje divinò yo ak moun ki konn rele mò pou pale ak yo. Li donnen nan fè sa ki mal devan Seyè a pou l’ te fè Seyè a move jouk li pa kapab ankò.
7 Li fè fè yon estati zidòl mete nan Tanp Seyè a, atout Seyè a te pale ak David ansanm ak Salomon, pitit li. Li te pale ak yo sou Tanp lan, li te di yo se isit lavil Jerizalèm, nan Tanp kote mwen te chwazi nan tout peyi douz branch fanmi pèp Izrayèl la, pou yo fè sèvis pou mwen.
8 Depi moun pèp Izrayèl yo viv jan mwen mande yo viv la, si yo fè tou sa ki nan lalwa Moyiz, sèvitè m’ lan, te ba yo a, mwen p’ap mete yo deyò nan peyi mwen te vle bay zansèt yo a.
9 Men, Manase te lakòz pèp Jida a ak moun lavil Jerizalèm yo pèdi tèt yo, yo fè pi mal pase nasyon Seyè a te mete deyò nan peyi a pou fè plas pou yo.
10 Seyè a te pale ak Manase ansanm ak pèp li a, men yo derefize koute l’.
11 Lè sa a, Seyè a voye chèf lame wa peyi Lasiri a vin atake yo. Yo mete men sou Manase, yo pase kwòk nan machwè li, yo mare l’ ak de gwo chenn fèt an kwiv, yo mennen l’ lavil Babilòn.
12 Manase te nan gwo lafliksyon, li rele Seyè a, Bondye li a, li rekonèt tout fòt li yo devan Seyè a, Bondye zansèt li yo.
13 Li lapriyè Bondye, Bondye tande lapriyè l’ la, li ba li sa l’ te mande a. Li fè l’ tounen lavil Jerizalèm pou li al pran plas li ankò. Se konsa Manase vin konprann se Seyè a ki Bondye vre.
14 Apre sa Manase bati yon miray byen wo sou deyò lavil David la, sou bò solèy kouche, bò sous Giyon an. Miray la pran depi nan ravin lan, li pase bò Pòtay Pwason yo, li fè wonn Ofèl la. Manase mete yon kòmandan nan tout lavil peyi Jida yo ki gen gwo ranpa.
15 Li wete tout estati zidòl lòt nasyon yo ak gwo estati ki te nan Tanp lan. Li kraze tout lotèl yo te bati sou mòn kote Tanp Seyè a te ye a ak nan lavil Jerizalèm. Li pran tout bagay sa yo, li voye yo jete an deyò lavil la.
16 Li fè repare lotèl Seyè a, li fè ofrann pou mande Bondye padon ak pou di l’ mèsi. Li mande pou tout moun nan peyi Jida a sèvi Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la.
17 Pèp la te toujou ap ofri bèt pou yo touye lòt kote, men se te toujou pou Seyè a, Bondye yo a, ase.
18 Tout rès istwa Manase a, lapriyè li te fè nan pye Bondye li a, mesaj pwofèt yo te ba li nan non Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, tou sa ekri nan Liv Istwa wa pèp Izrayèl yo.
19 Lapriyè wa a te fè a, repons Bondye te ba li, tout peche l’ yo, jan li te vire do bay Bondye, tout kote li te bati pou zidòl yo, estati Achera ak estati lòt zidòl li te fè fè pou l’ te ka sèvi anvan li te rekonèt peche li yo, nou jwenn tou sa ekri nan Liv Istwa pwofèt Ozayi a.
20 Lè Manase mouri, yo antere l’ nan jaden palè a. Se Amon, pitit gason l’ lan, ki moute wa nan plas li.
21 Amon te gen venndezan lè li moute wa peyi Jida a. Li gouvènen nan lavil Jerizalèm pandan dezan.
22 Tankou Manase, papa l’, li fè sa ki mal devan Seyè a. Li ofri bèt pou yo touye, li fè sèvis pou tout zidòl papa l’ te fè fè yo.
23 Men, li pa t’ rekonèt peche l’ yo devan Seyè a, tankou Manase, papa l’, te fè l’ la. Li menm rive fè pi mal pase papa l’ toujou.
24 Chèf ki t’ap sèvi avèk Amon yo fè konplo, yo touye l’ anndan palè a.
25 Moun peyi Jida yo touye mesye ki te fè konplo pou touye Amon yo. Yo mete Jozyas, pitit gason Amon an, wa nan plas li.

1 Manassé avait douze ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna cinquante-cinq ans à Jérusalem.
2 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, selon les abominations des nations que l’Éternel avait chassées devant les enfants d’Israël.
3 Il rebâtit les hauts lieux qu’Ézéchias, son père, avait renversés; il éleva des autels aux Baals, il fit des idoles d’Astarté, et il se prosterna devant toute l’armée des cieux et la servit.
4 Il bâtit des autels dans la maison de l’Éternel, quoique l’Éternel eût dit: C’est dans Jérusalem que sera mon nom à perpétuité.
5 Il bâtit des autels à toute l’armée des cieux dans les deux parvis de la maison de l’Éternel.
6 Il fit passer ses fils par le feu dans la vallée des fils de Hinnom; il observait les nuages et les serpents pour en tirer des pronostics, il s’adonnait à la magie, et il établit des gens qui évoquaient les esprits et qui prédisaient l’avenir. Il fit de plus en plus ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, afin de l’irriter.
7 Il plaça l’image taillée de l’idole qu’il avait faite dans la maison de Dieu, de laquelle Dieu avait dit à David et à Salomon, son fils: C’est dans cette maison, et c’est dans Jérusalem que j’ai choisie parmi toutes les tribus d’Israël, que je veux à toujours placer mon nom.
8 Je ne ferai plus sortir Israël du pays que j’ai destiné à vos pères, pourvu seulement qu’ils aient soin de mettre en pratique tout ce que je leur ai commandé, selon toute la loi, les préceptes et les ordonnances prescrits par Moïse.
9 Mais Manassé fut cause que Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem s’égarèrent et firent le mal plus que les nations que l’Éternel avait détruites devant les enfants d’Israël.
10 L’Éternel parla à Manassé et à son peuple, et ils n’y firent point attention.
11 Alors l’Éternel fit venir contre eux les chefs de l’armée du roi d’Assyrie, qui saisirent Manassé et le mirent dans les fers; ils le lièrent avec des chaînes d’airain, et le menèrent à Babylone.
12 Lorsqu’il fut dans la détresse, il implora l’Éternel, son Dieu, et il s’humilia profondément devant le Dieu de ses pères.
13 Il lui adressa ses prières; et l’Éternel, se laissant fléchir, exauça ses supplications, et le ramena à Jérusalem dans son royaume. Et Manassé reconnut que l’Éternel est Dieu.
14 Après cela, il bâtit en dehors de la ville de David, à l’occident, vers Guihon dans la vallée, un mur qui se prolongeait jusqu’à la porte des poissons et dont il entoura la colline, et il s’éleva à une grande hauteur; il mit aussi des chefs militaires dans toutes les villes fortes de Juda.
15 Il fit disparaître de la maison de l’Éternel les dieux étrangers et l’idole, et il renversa tous les autels qu’il avait bâtis sur la montagne de la maison de l’Éternel et à Jérusalem; et il les jeta hors de la ville.
16 Il rétablit l’autel de l’Éternel et y offrit des sacrifices d’actions de grâces et de reconnaissance, et il ordonna à Juda de servir l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.
17 Le peuple sacrifiait bien encore sur les hauts lieux, mais seulement à l’Éternel, son Dieu.
18 Le reste des actions de Manassé, sa prière à son Dieu, et les paroles des prophètes qui lui parlèrent au nom de l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, cela est écrit dans les actes des rois d’Israël.
19 Sa prière et la manière dont Dieu l’exauça, ses péchés et ses infidélités, les places où il bâtit des hauts lieux et dressa des idoles et des images taillées avant de s’être humilié, cela est écrit dans le livre de Hozaï.
20 Manassé se coucha avec ses pères, et on l’enterra dans sa maison. Et Amon, son fils, régna à sa place.
21 Amon avait vingt-deux ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna deux ans à Jérusalem.
22 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, comme avait fait Manassé, son père; il sacrifia à toutes les images taillées qu’avait faites Manassé, son père, et il les servit;
23 et il ne s’humilia pas devant l’Éternel, comme s’était humilié Manassé, son père, car lui, Amon, se rendit de plus en plus coupable.
24 Ses serviteurs conspirèrent contre lui, et le firent mourir dans sa maison.
25 Mais le peuple du pays frappa tous ceux qui avaient conspiré contre le roi Amon; et le peuple du pays établit roi Josias, son fils, à sa place.

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4 Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, whereof the Lord had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
7 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8 Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 And the Lord spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11 Wherefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13 And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord he was God.
14 Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
15 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the Lord, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16 And he repaired the altar of the Lord, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.
17 Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the Lord their God only.
18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the Lord God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
19 His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21 Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23 And humbled not himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
