1 Kèk tan apre sa, wa Asyeris mete yon nonm ki te rele Aman nan yon gwo pozisyon. Li nonmen l’ chèf sou tout lòt chèf nan peyi a apre wa a. Aman sa a te pitit Amedata, moun fanmi wa Agag.
2 Wa a pase lòd pou tout anplwaye gouvènman li mete ajenou, bese tèt yo jouk atè devan Aman pou montre jan yo respekte l’. Tout anplwaye yo te fè sa vre esepte Madoche ki te derefize fè bagay konsa.
3 Lòt anplwaye yo mande Madoche poukisa li t’ap dezobeyi lòd wa a te bay la.
4 Chak jou yo te dèyè l’ pou l’ te konfòme l’. Men, li te refize koute yo. Li esplike yo se jwif li ye, li pa kapab bese tèt li jouk atè devan Aman. Se konsa mesye yo al di Aman sa pou yo wè si li pa t’ap di Madoche anyen.
5 Lè Aman wè Madoche te derefize ni mete ajenou, ni bese tèt li jouk atè devan li lè l’ap pase, li ofiske.
6 Lè li vin konnen menm se jwif Madoche te ye, li fè lide se pa Madoche sèlman l’ap pini. L’ap òganize l’ pou l’ touye dènye kras jwif ki nan peyi wa Asyeris la.
7 Lè sa a, wa Asyeris t’ap mache sou douzan depi li t’ap gouvènen. Nan premye mwa a, mwa Nisan an, Aman mande yon divinò fè l’ konnen ki jou ak ki mwa ki pi bon pou l’ fè sa l’ te vle fè a. Se konsa yo tonbe sou douzyèm mwa a, mwa Ada a.
8 Lè sa a, Aman al di wa a: -Monwa, gen yon ras moun ki gaye nan tout peyi w’ap gouvènen yo, yo toupatou nan mitan pèp yo, men yo viv apa. Mès pa yo pa menm ak mès lòt pèp yo. Lèfini, yo derefize obeyi lòd ou bay yo. Li pa ta bon pou wa a fèmen je l’ sou sa.
9 Si wa a ta vle, li ta bay lòd pou yo touye yo. Si wa a fè sa, m’ap ranmase twasanswasannkenz (375) tòn ajan nan men anplwaye leta yo m’a mete nan kès wa a.
10 Wa a ba li kat blanch. Li wete gwo bag ki nan dwèt li a bay Aman, pitit gason Amedata, moun ras Agag la, ki pa t’ vle wè jwif yo.
11 Epi wa a di l’ konsa: -Mwen ba ou pèp sa a ansanm ak richès li yo. Fè sa ou vle ak yo.
12 Se konsa, nan trèzyèm jou premye mwa a, Aman fè rele tout sekretè wa yo, li ba yo yon piblikasyon pou yo mete nan lang chak peyi, jan yo ekri lang lan nan peyi a. Lèfini, li bay lòd pou yo voye l’ bay tout prefè wa a, tout gouvènè pwovens yo ak tout chèf lòt pèp yo. Piblikasyon an te fèt nan non wa Asyeris. Lèfini, li mete so bag wa a anba li.
13 Yo voye mesaje kouri pote piblikasyon an nan tout peyi ki anba kòmandman wa a. Piblikasyon an te bay lòd pou lè trèzyèm jou mwa Ada a va rive, yon sèl jou a pou yo te touye tout jwif yo, granmoun kou jennmoun, fanm kou timoun. Se pou yo te masakre yo san pitye, lèfini pou yo te piye tout byen yo.
14 Yo voye yon kopi piblikasyon an nan chak pwovens avèk lòd esprès pou yo te fè tout moun konnen pou yo pare kò yo pou jou sa a.
15 Dapre lòd wa a, mesaje yo kouri pote mesaj la nan tout pwovens yo. Yo pibliye nouvèl la tou nan lavil Souz, kapital la. Tout lavil Souz te tèt anba, wa a menm te chita ap bwè ak Aman.

1 Après ces choses, le roi Assuérus fit monter au pouvoir Haman, fils d’Hammedatha, l’Agaguite; il l’éleva en dignité et plaça son siège au-dessus de ceux de tous les chefs qui étaient auprès de lui.
2 Tous les serviteurs du roi, qui se tenaient à la porte du roi, fléchissaient le genou et se prosternaient devant Haman, car tel était l’ordre du roi à son égard. Mais Mardochée ne fléchissait point le genou et ne se prosternait point.
3 Et les serviteurs du roi, qui se tenaient à la porte du roi, dirent à Mardochée: Pourquoi transgresses-tu l’ordre du roi?
4 Comme ils le lui répétaient chaque jour et qu’il ne les écoutait pas, ils en firent rapport à Haman, pour voir si Mardochée persisterait dans sa résolution; car il leur avait dit qu’il était Juif.
5 Et Haman vit que Mardochée ne fléchissait point le genou et ne se prosternait point devant lui. Il fut rempli de fureur;
6 mais il dédaigna de porter la main sur Mardochée seul, car on lui avait dit de quel peuple était Mardochée, et il voulut détruire le peuple de Mardochée, tous les Juifs qui se trouvaient dans tout le royaume d’Assuérus.
7 Au premier mois, qui est le mois de Nisan, la douzième année du roi Assuérus, on jeta le pur, c’est-à-dire le sort, devant Haman, pour chaque jour et pour chaque mois, jusqu’au douzième mois, qui est le mois d’Adar.
8 Alors Haman dit au roi Assuérus: Il y a dans toutes les provinces de ton royaume un peuple dispersé et à part parmi les peuples, ayant des lois différentes de celles de tous les peuples et n’observant point les lois du roi. Il n’est pas dans l’intérêt du roi de le laisser en repos.
9 Si le roi le trouve bon, qu’on écrive l’ordre de les faire périr; et je pèserai dix mille talents d’argent entre les mains des fonctionnaires, pour qu’on les porte dans le trésor du roi.
10 Le roi ôta son anneau de la main, et le remit à Haman, fils d’Hammedatha, l’Agaguite, ennemi des Juifs.
11 Et le roi dit à Haman: L’argent t’est donné, et ce peuple aussi; fais-en ce que tu voudras.
12 Les secrétaires du roi furent appelés le treizième jour du premier mois, et l’on écrivit, suivant tout ce qui fut ordonné par Haman, aux satrapes du roi, aux gouverneurs de chaque province et aux chefs de chaque peuple, à chaque province selon son écriture et à chaque peuple selon sa langue. Ce fut au nom du roi Assuérus que l’on écrivit, et on scella avec l’anneau du roi.
13 Les lettres furent envoyées par les courriers dans toutes les provinces du roi, pour qu’on détruisît, qu’on tuât et qu’on fît périr tous les Juifs, jeunes et vieux, petits enfants et femmes, en un seul jour, le treizième du douzième mois, qui est le mois d’Adar, et pour que leurs biens fussent livrés au pillage.
14 Ces lettres renfermaient une copie de l’édit qui devait être publié dans chaque province, et invitaient tous les peuples à se tenir prêts pour ce jour-là.
15 Les courriers partirent en toute hâte, d’après l’ordre du roi. L’édit fut aussi publié dans Suse, la capitale; et tandis que le roi et Haman étaient à boire, la ville de Suse était dans la consternation.

1 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.
2 And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.
3 Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?
4 Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.
5 And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.
6 And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
7 In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.
8 And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them.
9 If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s treasuries.
10 And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy.
11 And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.
12 Then were the king’s scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king’s ring.
13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
14 The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.
15 The posts went out, being hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.
