1 Men mesaj Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, bay sou peyi Moab la: -Ala malè pou moun lavil Nebo yo! Yo ravaje lavil la nèt ale. Moun lavil Kiryatayim yo wont! Lènmi anvayi lavil la, yo pran gwo fò a, yo kraze l’ ratè!
2 Peyi Moab la pèdi pouvwa li. Nan lavil Esbon yo fè plan pou yo detwi Moab. Yo di: Ann ale, ann disparèt peyi a sou latè! Yo fè lavil Madmèn pe bouch li. Yon gwo lame ap mache pran l’!
3 Moun lavil Owonayim yo ap rele: Men y’ap ravaje nou! Y’ap fè malè sou nou!
4 Yo kraze peyi Moab. Tout pitit li yo ap rele!
5 Se dlo nan je y’ap moute lavil Loukit. Sou tout wout pou desann Owonayim, se gwo rèl pou malè ki rive yo!
6 Y’ap rele: Kouri non, sove lavi nou! Al kache tankou bourik mawon nan dezè a.
7 Ou te mete konfyans ou nan fòs ou ak nan richès ou yo! Ou menm tou, lènmi ap anvayi ou! Y’ap depòte Kemòch, bondye ou la, ansanm ak tout pè li yo ak tout chèf li yo.
8 Malè pral tonbe sou tout lavil nou yo. Yo yonn p’ap chape anba l’. L’ap fini ak sa ki nan fon yo. L’ap ravaje sa ki sou platon yo. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
9 Pare yon mab pou mete sou tonm Moab. Talè konsa yo pral detwi l’ nèt. Tout lavil peyi Moab yo fin kraze. P’ap gen yon moun rete la ankò.
10 Madichon pou moun ki pote neglijans nan fè travay Seyè a! Madichon pou moun ki derefize touye nan lagè a!
11 Peyi Moab te toujou viv san ankenn danje depi tout tan. Yo pa janm depòte moun li yo. Li te tankou diven yo kite poze nan barik, san yo pa janm vide l’ sot nan yon veso mete l’ nan yon lòt. Se konsa li pa janm pèdi gou l’. Li pa janm vante.
12 Men lè a rive koulye a, se Seyè a menm ki di sa. Mwen pral voye moun pou yo vide peyi Moab la tankou diven. Yo pral devide veso yo. Yo pral kraze barik yo an miyèt moso.
13 Moun peyi Moab yo pral wont Kemòch, bondye yo a, menm jan moun fanmi Izrayèl yo te wont bondye lavil Betèl ki te tout konfyans yo a.
14 Ki jan nou ka fè di: Nou se vanyan gason, sòlda brave danje ki konn fè lagè?
15 Yo fini ak peyi Moab. Yo anvayi tout lavil li yo. Yo ansasinen tout jenn gason ki pi bon lakay li yo. Se mwen menm Wa a, mwen menm yo rele Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, ki di sa.
16 Jou pou yo fini ak Moab la ap pwoche. Malè ki pral tonbe sou Moab la pa lwen rive.

19 Nou menm k’ap viv lavil Awoyè. Rete sou bò wout la tann. Mande moun k’ap kouri met deyò yo sa ki pase.
20 Y’a reponn ou: Peyi Moab tonbe! Plenn sò li, pete rèl pou li: Yo fè l’ wont! Fè tout moun ki rete bò ravin Anon an konnen yo ravaje peyi Moab la.
21 Jou jijman an rive pou lavil yo ki sou platon an: Olon, Jasa ak Mefat,
22 Didon, Nebo ak Bèt-Diblatayim,
23 Kiryatayim, Bèt-Gamoul, Bèt Meyon,
24 Keriyòt, Bozra. Jijman rive sou tout lavil peyi Moab yo, kit sa ki toupre, kit sa ki byen lwen.
25 Yo kraze lògèy moun Moab yo. Yo kraze kouraj yo. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki pale.
26 Seyè a di ankò: -Fè lavil Moab sou, paske li te kenbe tèt avè m’. Se pou Moab woule nan vonmi l’. Li menm tou, se pou yo pase l’ nan rizib.
27 Chonje jan nou te konn ap pase pèp Izrayèl la nan rizib. Eske nou te janm bare yo ap fè bann ak vòlò kifè chak fwa n’ap pale sou yo, n’ap souke tèt nou, n’ap di podjab pou yo?
28 Nou menm moun Moab, kite lavil nou yo, al rete nan twou wòch. Fè tankou ranmye ki fè nich yo nan twou bò falèz.
29 Moun Moab yo se moun ki gen lògèy anpil. Nou te konnen jan moun sa yo te gen lògèy, jan yo te awogan. Yo te kwè wa pa kouzen yo, y’ap gonfle lestonmak yo sou moun.
30 Men mwen menm Seyè a, mwen konnen yo te kwè twòp nan tèt yo. Bèl diskou yo t’ap fè yo se te pawòl nan bouch. Tou sa y’ap fè pa vo anyen.
31 Se konsa, m’ap plenn sò moun Moab yo, m’ap rele pou tout peyi Moab yo, pou moun lavil Ki-Erès yo.
32 M’ap kriye pou moun lavil Sibma yo plis pase jan mwen te kriye pou moun lavil Jazè yo. Lavil Sibma te tankou yon gwo pye rezen. Branch li yo travèse lòt bò lanmè Mouri a, yo rive jouk lavil Jazè. Men koulye a, yo ravaje tout rekòt la, yo dechèpiye tout rezen nou te ranmase yo.
33 Pa gen kè kontan ak fèt ankò nan jaden rezen peyi Moab yo. Pa gen yon degout diven ankò nan barik yo. Pa gen yon moun k’ap travay nan moulen pou fè diven. Nou pa tande yon moun ap bay ankourajman.
34 Moun Esbon yo ap rele. Yo tande rèl yo jouk lavil Elealè, jouk lavil Jaaz, depi lavil Zoa jouk lavil Owonayim ak Eglat-Chelichya. Ata ti dlo Nimrim lan gen pou l’ cheche.
35 M’ap disparèt moun lavil Moab yo. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa. M’ap touye moun k’ap fè ofrann pou yo boule sou tèt mòn yo, moun k’ap boule lansan pou bondye yo.
36 Se poutèt sa, kè m’ ap fè m’ mal anpil pou moun Moab yo, pou moun Ki-Erès yo. M’ap plenn sò yo tankou moun k’ap jwe fif nan lantèman. Paske yo pèdi tou sa yo te genyen.
37 Yo tout, yo kale tèt yo, yo koupe tout bab nan figi yo, yo kòche tout men yo ak kouto, yo mare sak nan ren yo.
38 Sou teras anwo tout kay peyi Moab yo, sou tout plas piblik, se plenn moun yo ap plenn. Mwen kraze peyi Moab tankou yon kannari pesonn pa bezwen ankò. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
39 Yo fini ak peyi Moab! Plenn sò li. Moab pèdi pye, li wont. Tout nasyon ki nan vwazinaj li yo ap pase l’ nan rizib, yo tout sezi wè sa ki rive l’.
40 Men sa Seyè a di ankò: -Tankou yon malfini, yon lènmi ap plane ak zèl li yo gran louvri sou Moab.
41 Li pran tout lavil yo, li mete men sou tout fò yo. Jou sa a, vanyan sòlda lame Moab yo te pè tankou yon fanm ki gen tranche.
42 Y’ap fini ak peyi Moab la, y’ap touye dènye moun ladan l’, paske li te kenbe tèt ak Seyè a.
43 Nou menm moun Moab yo, yo pral ban nou sezisman, y’ap fouye twou pou nou tonbe, y’ap pare pèlen pou nou. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
44 Moun k’ap kouri pou sezisman pa pran yo pral tonbe nan twou. Lè y’a kouri soti nan twou a, y’ap pran nan pèlen. Paske dat Seyè a te fikse pou li pini Moab la rive sou li. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
45 Moun k’ap kouri met deyò yo rive Esbon tou bouke. Y’ap chache pwoteksyon lavil Esbon, lavil kote wa Siyon t’ap gouvènen an: men yo jwenn li ap boule. Dife a gaye, li rive jouk sou fwontyè a, li moute rive jouk sou tèt mòn lwijanboje yo.
46 Sa fè lapenn pou moun Moab yo! Tout moun ki t’ap sèvi Kèmòch yo fini. Yo pran pitit gason ak pitit fi yo, yo fè yo prizonye, yo depòte yo.
47 Men nan jou k’ap vin apre yo, m’ap mete peyi Moab la kanpe ankò. Se mwen menm, Seyè a, ki di sa. Se tou sa ki pral rive moun Moab yo.

1 Sur Moab. Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées, le Dieu d’Israël: Malheur à Nebo, car elle est ravagée! Kirjathaïm est confuse, elle est prise; Misgab est confuse, elle est brisée.
2 Elle n’est plus, la gloire de Moab; A Hesbon, on médite sa perte: Allons, exterminons-le du milieu des nations! Toi aussi, Madmen, tu seras détruite; L’épée marche derrière toi.
3 Des cris partent des Choronaïm; C’est un ravage, c’est une grande détresse.
4 Moab est brisé! Les petits font entendre leurs cris.
5 Car on répand des pleurs à la montée de Luchith, Et des cris de détresse retentissent à la descente de Choronaïm.
6 Fuyez, sauvez votre vie, Et soyez comme un misérable dans le désert!
7 Car, parce que tu t’es confié dans tes oeuvres et dans tes trésors, Toi aussi, tu seras pris, Et Kemosch s’en ira en captivité, Avec ses prêtres et avec ses chefs.
8 Le dévastateur entrera dans chaque ville, Et aucune ville n’échappera; La vallée périra et la plaine sera détruite, Comme l’Éternel l’a dit.
9 Donnez des ailes à Moab, Et qu’il parte au vol! Ses villes seront réduites en désert, Elles n’auront plus d’habitants.
10 Maudit soit celui qui fait avec négligence l’oeuvre de l’Éternel, Maudit soit celui qui éloigne son épée du carnage!
11 Moab était tranquille depuis sa jeunesse, Il reposait sur sa lie, Il n’était pas vidé d’un vase dans un autre, Et il n’allait pas en captivité. Aussi son goût lui est resté, Et son odeur ne s’est pas changée.
12 C’est pourquoi voici, les jours viennent, dit l’Éternel, Où je lui enverrai des gens qui le transvaseront; Ils videront ses vases, Et feront sauter ses outres.
13 Moab aura honte de Kemosch, Comme la maison d’Israël a eu honte De Béthel, qui la remplissait de confiance.
14 Comment pouvez-vous dire: Nous sommes de vaillants hommes, Des soldats prêts à combattre?
15 Moab est ravagé, ses villes montent en fumée, L’élite de sa jeunesse est égorgée, Dit le roi, dont l’Éternel des armées est le nom.
16 La ruine de Moab est près d’arriver, Son malheur vient en grande hâte.
17 Lamentez-vous sur lui, vous tous qui l’environnez, Vous tous qui connaissez son nom! Dites: Comment ce sceptre puissant a-t-il été brisé, Ce bâton majestueux?
18 Descends du séjour de la gloire, assieds-toi sur la terre desséchée, Habitante, fille de Dibon! Car le dévastateur de Moab monte contre toi, Il détruit tes forteresses.
19 Tiens-toi sur le chemin, et regarde, habitante d’Aroër! Interroge le fuyard, le réchappé, Demande: Qu’est-il arrivé? –
20 Moab est confus, car il est brisé. Poussez des gémissements et des cris! Publiez sur l’Arnon Que Moab est ravagé!
21 Le châtiment est venu sur le pays de la plaine, Sur Holon, sur Jahats, sur Méphaath,
22 Sur Dibon, sur Nebo, sur Beth Diblathaïm,
23 Sur Kirjathaïm, sur Beth Gamul, sur Beth Meon,
24 Sur Kerijoth, sur Botsra, Sur toutes les villes du pays de Moab, Éloignées et proches.
25 La force de Moab est abattue, Et son bras est brisé, Dit l’Éternel.
26 Enivrez-le, car il s’est élevé contre l’Éternel! Que Moab se roule dans son vomissement, Et qu’il devienne aussi un objet de raillerie!
27 Israël n’a-t-il pas été pour toi un objet de raillerie? Avait-il donc été surpris parmi les voleurs, Pour que tu ne parles de lui qu’en secouant la tête?
28 Abandonnez les villes, et demeurez dans les rochers, Habitants de Moab! Soyez comme les colombes, Qui font leur nid sur le flanc des cavernes!
29 Nous connaissons l’orgueil du superbe Moab, Sa hauteur, sa fierté, son arrogance, et son coeur altier.
30 Je connais, dit l’Éternel, sa présomption et ses vains discours, Et ses oeuvres de néant.
31 C’est pourquoi je gémis sur Moab, Je gémis sur tout Moab; On soupire pour les gens de Kir Hérès.
32 Vigne de Sibma, je pleure sur toi plus que sur Jaezer; Tes rameaux allaient au delà de la mer, Ils s’étendaient jusqu’à la mer de Jaezer; Le dévastateur s’est jeté sur ta récolte et sur ta vendange.
33 La joie et l’allégresse ont disparu des campagnes Et du pays de Moab; J’ai fait tarir le vin dans les cuves; On ne foule plus gaîment au pressoir; Il y a des cris de guerre, et non des cris de joie.
34 Les cris de Hesbon retentissent jusqu’à Élealé, Et ils font entendre leur voix jusqu’à Jahats, Depuis Tsoar jusqu’à Choronaïm, Jusqu’à Églath Schelischija; Car les eaux de Nimrim sont aussi ravagées.
35 Je veux en finir dans Moab, dit l’Éternel, Avec celui qui monte sur les hauts lieux, Et qui offre de l’encens à son dieu.
36 Aussi mon coeur gémit comme une flûte sur Moab, Mon coeur gémit comme une flûte sur les gens de Kir Hérès, Parce que tous les biens qu’ils ont amassés sont perdus.
37 Car toutes les têtes sont rasées, Toutes les barbes sont coupées; Sur toutes les mains il y a des incisions, Et sur les reins des sacs.
38 Sur tous les toits de Moab et dans ses places, Ce ne sont que lamentations, Parce que j’ai brisé Moab comme un vase qui n’a pas de prix, Dit l’Éternel.
39 Comme il est brisé! Poussez des gémissements! Comme Moab tourne honteusement le dos! Moab devient un objet de raillerie et d’effroi Pour tous ceux qui l’environnent.
40 Car ainsi parle l’Éternel: Voici, il vole comme l’aigle, Et il étend ses ailes sur Moab.
41 Kerijoth est prise, Les forteresses sont emportées, Et le coeur des héros de Moab est en ce jour Comme le coeur d’une femme en travail.
42 Moab sera exterminé, il cessera d’être un peuple, Car il s’est élevé contre l’Éternel.
43 La terreur, la fosse, et le filet, Sont sur toi, habitant de Moab! Dit l’Éternel.
44 Celui qui fuit devant la terreur tombe dans la fosse, Et celui qui remonte de la fosse se prend au filet; Car je fais venir sur lui, sur Moab, L’année de son châtiment, dit l’Éternel.
45 A l’ombre de Hesbon les fuyards s’arrêtent épuisés; Mais il sort un feu de Hesbon, Une flamme du milieu de Sihon; Elle dévore les flancs de Moab, Et le sommet de la tête des fils du tumulte.
46 Malheur à toi, Moab! Le peuple de Kemosch est perdu! Car tes fils sont emmenés captifs, Et tes filles captives.
47 Mais je ramènerai les captifs de Moab, dans la suite des temps, Dit l’Éternel. Tel est le jugement sur Moab.

1 Against Moab thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.
2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.
4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
5 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.
6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.
7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.
8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the Lord hath spoken.
9 Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.
10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?
15 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.
16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
18 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.
19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?
20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,
21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,
22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Bethdiblathaim,
23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon,
24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.
26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the Lord: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.
28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
30 I know his wrath, saith the Lord; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.
31 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.
32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.
34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the Lord, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.
37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the Lord.
39 They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.
40 For thus saith the Lord; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.
41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men’s hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord.
43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord.
44 He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.
45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
46 Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.
47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the Lord. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
