1 Frè m’ yo, mwen pa bezwen ekri nou pou m’ fè nou konnen ni ki lè, ni ki jou bagay sa yo gen pou rive.
2 Nou menm nou konn sa byen: Jou Seyè a gen pou l’ vin sou nou tankou yon vòlò k’ap vin nan mitan lannwit.
3 Lè n’ap tande moun ap di: Gen lapè toupatou, tout bagay byen sou kontwòl, se lè sa a, san nou pa atann, n’ap wè kòlè Bondye a tonbe sou yo pou detwi yo. Se tankou lè doulè tranche sezi yon fanm ansent. p’ap gen chape pou yo.
4 Men nou menm, frè m’ yo, nou pa moun k’ap viv nan fènwa. Jou sa a p’ap vin sou nou tankou yon vòlè, san nou pa atann.
5 Paske, nou tout se moun k’ap viv nan limyè, nan gwo lajounen. Nou pa moun k’ap viv nan lannwit, nan fènwa!
6 Se sak fè, piga nou dòmi tankou lòt yo. Pa kite dòmi pran nou. Kenbe tèt nou anplas.
7 Se lannwit moun dòmi. Se lannwit tou moun sou.
8 Men nou menm, nou se moun k’ap viv lajounen, se pou nou toujou kenbe tèt nou anplas. Ann pran konfyans nou gen nan Bondye a ak renmen nou gen nan kè nou tankou yon plak pwotèj pou lestonmak nou. Ann pran espwa nou genyen nan Jezi k’ap vin delivre nou nèt la, ann mete l’ tankou yon kas an fè nan tèt nou.
9 Paske, Bondye pa t’ chwazi nou pou nou te tonbe anba kòlè li, men pou n’ te ka delivre, gremesi Jezikri, Seyè nou an.
10 Jezi te mouri pou n’ te ka viv ansanm ak li. Konsa, kit nou mouri deja, kit nou vivan toujou lè la vini an, nou tout n’ap toujou ansanm ak li.
11 Se poutèt sa, annou yonn ankouraje lòt, yonn ede lòt, jan nou deja ap fè l’ la.
12 Frè m’ yo, m’ap mande nou pou nou gen anpil respè pou moun k’ap travay nan mitan nou yo, moun Seyè a chwazi pou dirije nou, pou ankouraje nou.
13 Se pou nou gen anpil konsiderasyon pou yo, se pou nou renmen yo poutèt travay y’ap fè a. Se pou nou viv byen ak kè poze yonn ak lòt.
14 M’ap mande nou tou, frè m’ yo, pou nou rele dèyè moun k’ap fè parese yo. Ankouraje sa ki yon ti jan frèt yo, ede sa ki fèb yo. Se pou nou pran pasyans ak tout moun.
15 Pa kite pesonn rann mal pou mal. Okontrè, toujou chache fè sa ki byen yonn pou lòt ak sa ki byen pou tout moun.
16 Se pou kè nou toujou kontan.
17 Pa janm sispann lapriyè.
18 Di Bondye mèsi pou tout bagay. Se sa Bondye mande nou, nou menm ki mete konfyans nou nan Jezikri.
19 Pa antrave travay Sentespri a.
20 Pa meprize pawòl moun k’ap bay mesaj ki soti nan Bondye.
21 Egzaminen tout bagay byen, kenbe sa ki bon.
22 Egzante tou sa ki mal.
23 Mwen mande Bondye ki bay kè poze a pou l’ fè nou favè pou nou viv pou li nèt ale. Konsa, lè Jezikri, Seyè nou an, va vini, li p’ap jwenn nou ak ankenn defo, ni nan kò nou, ni nan lespri nou ni nan nanm nou.
24 Bondye ki rele nou an va fè sa pou nou, paske li toujou kenbe pawòl li.
25 Frè m’ yo, lapriyè pou mwen tou.
26 Di tout frè yo bonjou, bo yo pou mwen tankou moun k’ap viv pou Bondye konn fè l’ la.
27 Tanpri souple, nan non Seyè a, li lèt sa a bay tout frè yo.
28 Se pou benediksyon Jezikri, Seyè nou an, toujou la avèk nou.

1 Pour ce qui est des temps et des moments, vous n’avez pas besoin, frères, qu’on vous en écrive.
2 Car vous savez bien vous-mêmes que le jour du Seigneur viendra comme un voleur dans la nuit.
3 Quand les hommes diront: Paix et sûreté! alors une ruine soudaine les surprendra, comme les douleurs de l’enfantement surprennent la femme enceinte, et ils n’échapperont point.
4 Mais vous, frères, vous n’êtes pas dans les ténèbres, pour que ce jour vous surprenne comme un voleur;
5 vous êtes tous des enfants de la lumière et des enfants du jour. Nous ne sommes point de la nuit ni des ténèbres.
6 Ne dormons donc point comme les autres, mais veillons et soyons sobres.
7 Car ceux qui dorment dorment la nuit, et ceux qui s’enivrent s’enivrent la nuit.
8 Mais nous qui sommes du jour, soyons sobres, ayant revêtu la cuirasse de la foi et de la charité, et ayant pour casque l’espérance du salut.
9 Car Dieu ne nous a pas destinés à la colère, mais à l’acquisition du salut par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ,
10 qui est mort pour nous, afin que, soit que nous veillons, soit que nous dormions, nous vivions ensemble avec lui.
11 C’est pourquoi exhortez-vous réciproquement, et édifiez-vous les uns les autres, comme en réalité vous le faites.
12 Nous vous prions, frères, d’avoir de la considération pour ceux qui travaillent parmi vous, qui vous dirigent dans le Seigneur, et qui vous exhortent.
13 Ayez pour eux beaucoup d’affection, à cause de leur oeuvre. Soyez en paix entre vous.
14 Nous vous prions aussi, frères, avertissez ceux qui vivent dans le désordre, consolez ceux qui sont abattus, supportez les faibles, usez de patience envers tous.
15 Prenez garde que personne ne rende à autrui le mal pour le mal; mais poursuivez toujours le bien, soit entre vous, soit envers tous.
16 Soyez toujours joyeux.
17 Priez sans cesse.
18 Rendez grâces en toutes choses, car c’est à votre égard la volonté de Dieu en Jésus Christ.
19 N’éteignez pas l’Esprit.
20 Ne méprisez pas les prophéties.
21 Mais examinez toutes choses; retenez ce qui est bon;
22 abstenez-vous de toute espèce de mal.
23 Que le Dieu de paix vous sanctifie lui-même tout entiers, et que tout votre être, l’esprit, l’âme et le corps, soit conservé irrépréhensible, lors de l’avènement de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ!
24 Celui qui vous a appelés est fidèle, et c’est lui qui le fera.
25 Frères, priez pour nous.
26 Saluez tous les frères par un saint baiser.
27 Je vous en conjure par le Seigneur, que cette lettre soit lue à tous les frères.
28 Que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ soit avec vous!

Thessalonians 5
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
