Levitik 11
1 Seyè a pale ak Moyiz ansanm ak Arawon, li di yo konsa:
2 -Men sa pou nou di moun pèp Izrayèl yo.
3 Nan tout bèt ki sou latè, men bèt nou ka touye pou nou manje. Nou ka manje tout bèt ki gen zago yo fann an de depi yo remoute manje tou.
4 Men, gen bèt ki remoute manje epi ki pa gen zago yo fann. Bèt konsa nou pa gen dwa manje yo. Sa pa bon pou nou! Nou gen chamo ki remoute manje men ki pa gen zago yo fann. Vyann li pa bon pou nou manje.
5 Nou gen daman ki remoute manje men ki pa gen zago yo fann.
6 Nou gen ankò lapen ki remoute manje men ki pa gen zago fann an de. Vyann li pa bon pou nou manje.
7 Nou gen ankò kochon. Li menm li gen zago fann an de, men li pa remoute manje. Vyann li tou pa bon pou nou manje.
8 Piga nou janm manje vyann bèt sa yo. Piga nou manyen kadav yo. Yo pa bon pou nou menm k’ap sèvi Bondye.
9 Nan bèt k’ap viv nan dlo men sa nou ka manje. Nou ka manje tout bèt nan lanmè ak nan dlo dous ki gen zèl ak kal sou kò yo.
10 Men, tout bèt k’ap viv nan lanmè osinon nan dlo dous men ki pa gen ni zèl ni kal sou kò yo, sa pa bon pou manje yo.
11 Gade yo pou move vyann. Pa manje vyann yo, pa manyen kadav yo.
12 Tout bèt k’ap viv nan dlo men ki pa gen zèl ak kal sou kò yo, nou pa fèt pou nou manje yo.
13 Nan tout zwazo men sa nou pa gen dwa manje paske yo pa bon pou nou menm k’ap sèvi Bondye.
14 Malfini karanklou ak lòt bèt menm fanmi ak yo ki manje kadav,
15 tout kalite kònèy,
16 otrich, janmichèt, poul dlo, grigri, ak lòt bèt menm fanmi ak yo ki manje vyann vivan,
17 koukou, plonjon, frize,
18 gwo kanna mawon blan, grangozye, chwèt,
19 sigòy, krabye ak tout lòt bèt menm fanmi ak yo, chòchòt, sèpantye.
20 Tout ti bètazèl ki mache sou kat pye pa bon pou nou manje.
21 Men, nou ka manje tout ti bètazèl ki mache sou kat pye, depi yo gen de gwo pye ki penmèt yo sote,
22 tankou krikèt kay, krikèt bwa, chwal bondye ak lòt kalite krikèt.
23 Men, tout lòt ti bètazèl ki gen kat pye pa bon pou nou manje.
24 Depi yon moun manyen kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo, li pa nan kondisyon pou l’ fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè.
25 Tout moun ki pote menm yon moso nan kadav yo gen pou lave tout rad sou li, epi li p’ap nan kondisyon pou l’ fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè.
26 Tout bèt ki pa gen zago yo fann an de osinon ki pa remoute manje pa bon pou nou manje. Tout moun ki manyen ata kadav bèt sa yo pa nan kondisyon pou l’ fè sèvis pou Bondye.
27 Konsa tou, tout bèt ki mache sou kat pa t’ men ki pa gen zago, yo pa bon pou nou manje. Depi yon moun manyen kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo, li pa nan kondisyon pou fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè.
28 Tout moun ki pote kadav bèt yo al jete gen pou lave tout rad sou li, epi li p’ap nan kondisyon pou l’ fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè. Wi, tout bèt sa yo pa bon pou nou manje.
29 Pami tout bèt toupatou sou latè ki mache sou vant, men sa ki pa bon pou nou manje: tout kalite zagoudi, sourit ak leza,
30 zandolit, soud, mabouya, gongolo, aganman.
31 Wi, tout bèt sa yo pa bon pou nou manje. Si yon moun annik manyen kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo, l’a nan kondisyon pou l’ pa fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè.
32 Si kadav bèt sa yo tonbe sou nenpòt ki bagay, kit an bwa, kit an twal, kit an po, kit an twal sak, osinon sou nenpòt ki zouti nou sèvi pou nou travay, bagay sa a osinon zouti sa a pa bon pou nou sèvi. Se pou nou mete l’ tranpe nan dlo, li p’ap bon pou nou sèvi avè l’ jouk aswè rive. Apre sa, nou ka sèvi avè l’ san danje.
33 Si kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo tonbe nan yon veso fèt an tè, tou sa ki nan veso a pa bon pou nou sèvi ankò, epitou se pou nou kraze veso sa a.
34 Si ti gout nan dlo ki soti nan veso sa a ta rive tonbe sou nenpòt manje nou gen dwa manje, manje a pa bon ankò pou nou manje. Konsa tou, tout bwason nou gen dwa bwè, si yo ta rive vide l’ nan yon veso konsa, li pa bon ankò pou nou bwè.
35 Si kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo tonbe sou nenpòt bagay, bagay sa a pa bon pou sèvi ankò. Si se yon fou osinon yon recho, se pou yo kraze yo an miyèt moso. Yo pa bon, nou pa fèt pou sèvi ak yo ankò menm.
36 Men, si yo tonbe nan yon sous osinon nan yon sitèn pou ranmase dlo, sous la osinon sitèn lan ap toujou bon pou sèvis nou. Men, moun ki manyen kadav la pou wete l’ nan dlo a p’ap nan kondisyon pou fè sèvis Bondye.
37 Si kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo tonbe sou grenn nou pral plante, grenn yo bon toujou pou plante.
38 Men, si grenn lan te tranpe nan dlo epi kadav yonn nan bèt sa yo tonbe sou li, grenn lan pa bon ankò pou plante.
39 Lè yon bèt nou ka manje rete konsa li mouri, tout moun ki manyen kadav li p’ap kapab fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè.
40 Moun ki manje nenpòt moso nan vyann bèt mouri a gen pou l’ lave rad sou li epi li p’ap nan kondisyon pou l’ fè sèvis Bondye jouk aswè. Moun ki pote kadav la al jete gen pou l’ lave rad sou li, epi li p’ap nan kondisyon pou l’ fè sèvis pou Bondye jouk aswè.
41 Tout ti bèt k’ap trennen sou vant pa bon pou moun k’ap sèvi Bondye. Nou pa fèt pou manje yo.
42 Depi se ti bèt k’ap trennen sou vant ou ankò ti bèt kat pye, ou ankò ti bèt ki gen anpil pye, yo yonn pa bon menm pou moun k’ap sèvi Bondye: nou pa fèt pou nou manje yo.
43 Pa manje ankenn nan ti bèt k’ap trennen sou vant yo pou yo pa mete nou nan kondisyon pou nou pa kapab fè sèvis pou mwen.
44 Se mwen menm Seyè a ki Bondye nou. Se pou nou kenbe kò nou yon jan pou nou viv apa pou mwen, paske mwen menm se yon Bondye apa mwen ye. Pa kite ankenn ti bèt k’ap trennen sou vant mete nou nan kondisyon pou nou pa ka sèvi m’.
45 Se mwen menm, Seyè a, se mwen menm ki te mennen nou soti kite peyi Lejip pou m’ te ka Bondye nou. Wi, se pou nou viv apa pou mwen, paske mwen se yon Bondye apa.
46 Men regleman ki gen rapò ak bèt, zwazo ak tout lòt bèt k’ap viv nan dlo, osinon k’ap trennen sou vant.
47 Se pou nou toujou rekonèt bèt ki ka mete nou nan kondisyon pou nou pa ka sèvi Bondye ak bèt ki p’ap fè l’, bèt ki bon pou nou manje ak bèt ki pa bon pou nou manje.

Lévitique 11
1 L’Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, et leur dit:
2 Parlez aux enfants d’Israël, et dites: Voici les animaux dont vous mangerez parmi toutes les bêtes qui sont sur la terre.
3 Vous mangerez de tout animal qui a la corne fendue, le pied fourchu, et qui rumine.
4 Mais vous ne mangerez pas de ceux qui ruminent seulement, ou qui ont la corne fendue seulement. Ainsi, vous ne mangerez pas le chameau, qui rumine, mais qui n’a pas la corne fendue: vous le regarderez comme impur.
5 Vous ne mangerez pas le daman, qui rumine, mais qui n’a pas la corne fendue: vous le regarderez comme impur.
6 Vous ne mangerez pas le lièvre, qui rumine, mais qui n’a pas la corne fendue: vous le regarderez comme impur.
7 Vous ne mangerez pas le porc, qui a la corne fendue et le pied fourchu, mais qui ne rumine pas: vous le regarderez comme impur.
8 Vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair, et vous ne toucherez pas leurs corps morts: vous les regarderez comme impurs.
9 Voici les animaux dont vous mangerez parmi tous ceux qui sont dans les eaux. Vous mangerez de tous ceux qui ont des nageoires et des écailles, et qui sont dans les eaux, soit dans les mers, soit dans les rivières.
10 Mais vous aurez en abomination tous ceux qui n’ont pas des nageoires et des écailles, parmi tout ce qui se meut dans les eaux et tout ce qui est vivant dans les eaux, soit dans les mers, soit dans les rivières.
11 Vous les aurez en abomination, vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair, et vous aurez en abomination leurs corps morts.
12 Vous aurez en abomination tous ceux qui, dans les eaux, n’ont pas des nageoires et des écailles.
13 Voici, parmi les oiseaux, ceux que vous aurez en abomination, et dont on ne mangera pas: l’aigle, l’orfraie et l’aigle de mer;
14 le milan, l’autour et ce qui est de son espèce;
15 le corbeau et toutes ses espèces;
16 l’autruche, le hibou, la mouette, l’épervier et ce qui est de son espèce;
17 le chat-huant, le plongeon et la chouette;
18 le cygne, le pélican et le cormoran;
19 la cigogne, le héron et ce qui est de son espèce, la huppe et la chauve-souris.
20 Vous aurez en abomination tout reptile qui vole et qui marche sur quatre pieds.
21 Mais, parmi tous les reptiles qui volent et qui marchent sur quatre pieds, vous mangerez ceux qui ont des jambes au-dessus de leurs pieds, pour sauter sur la terre.
22 Voici ceux que vous mangerez: la sauterelle, le solam, le hargol et le hagab, selon leurs espèces.
23 Vous aurez en abomination tous les autres reptiles qui volent et qui ont quatre pieds.
24 Ils vous rendront impurs: quiconque touchera leurs corps morts sera impur jusqu’au soir,
25 et quiconque portera leurs corps morts lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu’au soir.
26 Vous regarderez comme impur tout animal qui a la corne fendue, mais qui n’a pas le pied fourchu et qui ne rumine pas: quiconque le touchera sera impur.
27 Vous regarderez comme impurs tous ceux des animaux à quatre pieds qui marchent sur leurs pattes: quiconque touchera leurs corps morts sera impur jusqu’au soir,
28 et quiconque portera leurs corps morts lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu’au soir. Vous les regarderez comme impurs.
29 Voici, parmi les animaux qui rampent sur la terre, ceux que vous regarderez comme impurs: la taupe, la souris et le lézard, selon leurs espèces;
30 le hérisson, la grenouille, la tortue, le limaçon et le caméléon.
31 Vous les regarderez comme impurs parmi tous les reptiles: quiconque les touchera morts sera impur jusqu’au soir.
32 Tout objet sur lequel tombera quelque chose de leurs corps morts sera souillé, ustensiles de bois, vêtement, peau, sac, tout objet dont on fait usage; il sera mis dans l’eau, et restera souillé jusqu’au soir; après quoi, il sera pur.
33 Tout ce qui se trouvera dans un vase de terre où il en tombera quelque chose, sera souillé, et vous briserez le vase.
34 Tout aliment qui sert à la nourriture, et sur lequel il sera tombé de cette eau, sera souillé; et toute boisson dont on fait usage, quel que soit le vase qui la contienne, sera souillée.
35 Tout objet sur lequel tombera quelque chose de leurs corps morts sera souillé; le four et le foyer seront détruits: ils seront souillés, et vous les regarderez comme souillés.
36 Il n’y aura que les sources et les citernes, formant des amas d’eaux, qui resteront pures; mais celui qui y touchera de leurs corps morts sera impur.
37 S’il tombe quelque chose de leurs corps morts sur une semence qui doit être semée, elle restera pure;
38 mais si l’on a mis de l’eau sur la semence, et qu’il y tombe quelque chose de leurs corps morts, vous la regarderez comme souillée.
39 S’il meurt un des animaux qui vous servent de nourriture, celui qui touchera son corps mort sera impur jusqu’au soir;
40 celui qui mangera de son corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu’au soir, et celui qui portera son corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu’au soir.
41 Vous aurez en abomination tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre: on n’en mangera point.
42 Vous ne mangerez point, parmi tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre, de tous ceux qui se traînent sur le ventre, ni de tous ceux qui marchent sur quatre pieds ou sur un grand nombre de pieds; car vous les aurez en abomination.
43 Ne rendez point vos personnes abominables par tous ces reptiles qui rampent; ne vous rendez point impurs par eux, ne vous souillez point par eux.
44 Car je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu; vous vous sanctifierez, et vous serez saints, car je suis saint; et vous ne vous rendrez point impurs par tous ces reptiles qui rampent sur la terre.
45 Car je suis l’Éternel, qui vous ai fait monter du pays d’Égypte, pour être votre Dieu, et pour que vous soyez saints; car je suis saint.
46 Telle est la loi touchant les animaux, les oiseaux, tous les êtres vivants qui se meuvent dans les eaux, et tous les êtres qui rampent sur la terre,
47 afin que vous distinguiez ce qui est impur et ce qui est pur, l’animal qui se mange et l’animal qui ne se mange pas.

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
15 Every raven after his kind;
16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,
30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.
31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.
33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
34 Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.
36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.
37 And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.
38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
40 And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
