1 Nan lavil Sezare te gen yon nonm ki te rele Kònèy. Li te kaptenn yon batayon sòlda moun peyi Itali nan lame women an.
2 Kònèy te yon nonm ki t’ap sèvi Bondye jwif yo. Li menm ak tout fanmi l’, yo te gen krentif pou Bondye. Li te fè anpil pou pòv yo pami pèp jwif la. Epi se tout tan li t’ap lapriyè Bondye.
3 Yon jou apremidi, vè twazè, li fè yon vizyon: aklè konsa, li wè yon zanj Bondye antre lakay li. Zanj lan rele li: Kònèy!
4 Li gade zanj lan, li te pè, li di l’ konsa: Sak genyen, Mèt? Zanj lan reponn li: Bondye asepte lapriyè ou yo ansanm ak tout byen ou te fè pou pòv yo. Epi li chonje ou.
5 Koulye a, voye moun lavil Jope, fè y’ al chache yon nonm yo rele Simon (li gen yon ti non Pyè).
6 Li fè ladesant lakay Simon, bòs tanè a, ki gen kay li bò lanmè a.
7 Fini zanj Bondye a fin pale, li ale. Kònèy rele de domestik ansanm ak yonn nan gad kò l’ ki t’ap sèvi Bondye jwif yo tou.
8 Li rakonte yo tou sak te pase. Lèfini, li voye yo Jope.
9 Nan denmen, vè midi konsa, yo te nan wout toujou, men yo te prèt pou rive Jope. Menm lè sa a, Pyè moute anwo sou tèt kay la pou li al lapriyè.
10 Grangou bare l’, li te anvi manje. Pandan yo t’ap pare manje pou li, li fè yon vizyon:
11 Li wè syèl la louvri epi yon bagay t’ap desann soti ladan li. Bagay la te tankou yon gwo dra mare nan kat bout li ki t’ap file desann sou latè.
12 Te gen tout kalite bèt kat pat, tout kalite bèt ki trennen sou vant ak tout kalite zwezo ladan li.
13 Li tande yon vwa ki di l’ konsa: Leve non, Pyè. Touye, lè ou fini, manje.
14 Men, Pyè di: Non, Mèt. Mwen pa janm manje move manje ni manje ki pa bon pou moun k’ap sèvi Bondye.
15 Menm vwa a pale ankò, li di li: Bagay Bondye di ki bon pou moun k’ap sèvi l’, ou menm, pa di l’ pa bon.
16 An twa fwa sa repete. Apre sa, lamenm bagay la moute tounen nan syèl la.
17 Pyè menm pa t’ konn ki sans pou l’ te bay vizyon li te fè a. Men, tout tan sa a, moun Kònèy te voye yo t’ap mande ki bò kay Simon an te ye. Yo te rive devan pòt la.
18 Yo rele moun, epi yo mande: Eske se isit Simon yo rele Pyè a fè ladesant li?
19 Pyè t’ap kalkile toujou sou sans pou l’ te bay vizyon an, lè Sentespri di li: Koute. Gen twa moun anba a k’ap mande pou ou.
20 Leve non, desann. Pati ak yo touswit, se mwen menm ki voye yo.
21 Pyè desann, li al jwenn mesye yo, epi l’ di yo: Se mwen menm n’ap chache a. Kisak mennen nou isit la?
22 Yo reponn: Se kaptenn Kònèy ki voye nou. Nonm sa a, se yon bon gason ki gen krentif pou Bondye. Tout pèp jwif la konsidere l’ anpil. Enben, yon zanj Bondye te di l’ pou l’ te voye chache ou pou ou vin lakay li. Li bezwen tande sa ou gen pou di l’ la.
23 Pyè fè yo antre. Li fè yo pase nwit lan avè li. Nan denmen, li leve, li pati ak yo. Kèk frè lavil Jope ale avè l’ tou.
24 Yo rive Sezare yon jou apre. Kònèy t’ap tann yo ak tout fanmi l’ ansanm ak kèk bon zanmi l’ li te envite lakay li.
25 Pyè fè sa pou l’ antre, Kònèy kouri vin devan l’, li lage kò l’ nan pye l’, li bese tèt li byen ba devan li.
26 Men, Pyè fè l’ leve, li di l’ konsa: Kanpe non, monchè. Se yon moun mwen ye tou.
27 Pyè kontinye pale avèk li. Yo antre nan kay la epi Pyè jwenn yon bann moun ki te sanble.
28 Li di yo: Nou konnen sa pa fèt: jwif pa gen dwa mele ak moun lòt nasyon ni mete pye lakay yo. Relijyon l’ pa penmèt sa. Men, Bondye fè m’ konnen, mwen pa gen dwa gade pesonn pou move moun ni pou moun ki pa nan kondisyon pou sèvi Bondye.
29 Se poutèt sa, voye ou voye rele m’ lan, mwen pa fè ni yonn ni de, mwen vini. Koulye a, mwen ta renmen konnen poukisa ou voye chache m’ lan.
30 Kònèy di li: Jòdi a fè kat jou, mwen te lakay mwen, mwen t’ap lapriyè vè twazè konsa nan apremidi. Mwen rete konsa, mwen wè yon nonm ki te gen yon bèl rad byen klere sou li kanpe devan mwen.
31 Epi l’ di mwen: Kònèy, Bondye tande lapriyè ou, li chonje tout byen ou fè pou pòv yo.
32 Voye yon moun lavil Jope al rele Simon ki gen ti non Pyè a. Se lakay Simon, bòs tanè ki bò lanmè a, li ye.
33 Menm lè a, mwen voye chache ou, epi ou asepte vini. Koulye a, men nou tout la devan Bondye, n’ap koute tou sa Bondye ba ou lòd di nou.
34 Pyè pran lapawòl, li di: Wi, koulye a, mwen konprann sa se vre: Bondye pa gade sou figi moun.
35 Li kontan ak tout moun nan tout nasyon ki gen krentif pou li epi ki fè sa ki dwat devan li.
36 Nou konnen mesaj Bondye te voye bay pèp Izrayèl la: li fè yo konnen bon nouvèl la ki di: Bondye voye Jezi ki Mèt tout moun pou bay tout moun kè poze.
37 Nou konnen sak te rive nan tout peyi Jide a. Bagay sa yo kòmanse nan peyi Galile, apre batèm Jan t’ap anonse a.
38 Nou konnen tou ki jan Bondye te vide pouvwa Sentespri l’ sou Jezi, moun Nazarèt la. Jezi mache nan tout peyi a, li t’ap fè byen, li t’ap geri tout moun ki te anba pouvwa Satan paske Bondye te kanpe avèk li.
39 Nou menm k’ap pale la a, nou temwen tou sa li te fè nan peyi jwif yo ak nan Jerizalèm. Yo te touye l’, yo te kloure l’ sou kwa a.
40 Men sou twa jou, Bondye fè l’ leve soti vivan nan lanmò. Apre sa, li fè moun wè li vivan.
41 Se pa tout moun non ki te wè li. Se nou menm ase ki te wè li. Bondye te chwazi nou davans pou sèvi l’ temwen. Wi, nou manje avè l’, nou bwè avè l’ apre Bondye te fè l’ tounen vivan soti nan lanmò.
42 Li ban nou lòd mache fè konnen bon nouvèl la bay pèp la, pou n’ fè konnen se Jezi menm Bondye mete pou jije tout moun san wete yonn, kit yo vivan kit yo mouri deja.
43 Tout pwofèt yo te di sa sou li: Nenpòt moun ki met konfyans yo nan Jezi va resevwa padon pou tout peche yo gremesi non sa a.
44 Pyè t’ap pale toujou lè Sentespri a desann sou tout moun ki t’ap koute mesaj la.
45 Frè ki te soti lavil Jope ansanm ak Pyè yo se jwif yo te ye. Yo te sezi wè ki jan Bondye te bay moun ki pa jwif yo Sentespri l’ an kantite.
46 Yo te tande moun lòt nasyon yo ap pale nan lòt lang. Yo t’ap fè lwanj Bondye, yo t’ap di jan li gen pouvwa. Lè sa a Pyè di:
47 Moun sa yo resevwa Sentespri menm jan avèk nou. Koulye a, ki moun ki ka anpeche nou batize yo nan dlo tou?
48 Epi li bay lòd batize yo nan non Jezikri. Apre sa, yo mande Pyè pou l’ rete pase kèk jou avèk yo.

Actes 10
1 Il y avait à Césarée un homme nommé Corneille, centenier dans la cohorte dite italienne.
2 Cet homme était pieux et craignait Dieu, avec toute sa maison; il faisait beaucoup d’aumônes au peuple, et priait Dieu continuellement.
3 Vers la neuvième heure du jour, il vit clairement dans une vision un ange de Dieu qui entra chez lui, et qui lui dit: Corneille!
4 Les regards fixés sur lui, et saisi d’effroi, il répondit: Qu’est-ce, Seigneur? Et l’ange lui dit: Tes prières et tes aumônes sont montées devant Dieu, et il s’en est souvenu.
5 Envoie maintenant des hommes à Joppé, et fais venir Simon, surnommé Pierre;
6 il est logé chez un certain Simon, corroyeur, dont la maison est près de la mer.
7 Dès que l’ange qui lui avait parlé fut parti, Corneille appela deux de ses serviteurs, et un soldat pieux d’entre ceux qui étaient attachés à sa personne;
8 et, après leur avoir tout raconté, il les envoya à Joppé.
9 Le lendemain, comme ils étaient en route, et qu’ils approchaient de la ville, Pierre monta sur le toit, vers la sixième heure, pour prier.
10 Il eut faim, et il voulut manger. Pendant qu’on lui préparait à manger, il tomba en extase.
11 Il vit le ciel ouvert, et un objet semblable à une grande nappe attachée par les quatre coins, qui descendait et s’abaissait vers la terre,
12 et où se trouvaient tous les quadrupèdes et les reptiles de la terre et les oiseaux du ciel.
13 Et une voix lui dit: Lève-toi, Pierre, tue et mange.
14 Mais Pierre dit: Non, Seigneur, car je n’ai jamais rien mangé de souillé ni d’impur.
15 Et pour la seconde fois la voix se fit encore entendre à lui: Ce que Dieu a déclaré pur, ne le regarde pas comme souillé.
16 Cela arriva jusqu’à trois fois; et aussitôt après, l’objet fut retiré dans le ciel.
17 Tandis que Pierre ne savait en lui-même que penser du sens de la vision qu’il avait eue, voici, les hommes envoyés par Corneille, s’étant informés de la maison de Simon, se présentèrent à la porte,
18 et demandèrent à haute voix si c’était là que logeait Simon, surnommé Pierre.
19 Et comme Pierre était à réfléchir sur la vision, l’Esprit lui dit: Voici, trois hommes te demandent;
20 lève-toi, descends, et pars avec eux sans hésiter, car c’est moi qui les ai envoyés.
21 Pierre donc descendit, et il dit à ces hommes: Voici, je suis celui que vous cherchez; quel est le motif qui vous amène?
22 Ils répondirent: Corneille, centenier, homme juste et craignant Dieu, et de qui toute la nation des Juifs rend un bon témoignage, a été divinement averti par un saint ange de te faire venir dans sa maison et d’entendre tes paroles.
23 Pierre donc les fit entrer, et les logea. Le lendemain, il se leva, et partit avec eux. Quelques-uns des frères de Joppé l’accompagnèrent.
24 Ils arrivèrent à Césarée le jour suivant. Corneille les attendait, et avait invité ses parents et ses amis intimes.
25 Lorsque Pierre entra, Corneille, qui était allé au-devant de lui, tomba à ses pieds et se prosterna.
26 Mais Pierre le releva, en disant: Lève-toi; moi aussi, je suis un homme.
27 Et conversant avec lui, il entra, et trouva beaucoup de personnes réunies.
28 Vous savez, leur dit-il, qu’il est défendu à un Juif de se lier avec un étranger ou d’entrer chez lui; mais Dieu m’a appris à ne regarder aucun homme comme souillé et impur.
29 C’est pourquoi je n’ai pas eu d’objection à venir, puisque vous m’avez appelé; je vous demande donc pour quel motif vous m’avez envoyé chercher.
30 Corneille dit: Il y a quatre jours, à cette heure-ci, je priais dans ma maison à la neuvième heure; et voici, un homme vêtu d’un habit éclatant se présenta devant moi, et dit:
31 Corneille, ta prière a été exaucée, et Dieu s’est souvenu de tes aumônes.
32 Envoie donc à Joppé, et fais venir Simon, surnommé Pierre; il est logé dans la maison de Simon, corroyeur, près de la mer.
33 Aussitôt j’ai envoyé vers toi, et tu as bien fait de venir. Maintenant donc nous sommes tous devant Dieu, pour entendre tout ce que le Seigneur t’a ordonné de nous dire.
34 Alors Pierre, ouvrant la bouche, dit: En vérité, je reconnais que Dieu ne fait point acception de personnes,
35 mais qu’en toute nation celui qui le craint et qui pratique la justice lui est agréable.
36 Il a envoyé la parole aux fils d’Israël, en leur annonçant la paix par Jésus Christ, qui est le Seigneur de tous.
37 Vous savez ce qui est arrivé dans toute la Judée, après avoir commencé en Galilée, à la suite du baptême que Jean a prêché;
38 vous savez comment Dieu a oint du Saint Esprit et de force Jésus de Nazareth, qui allait de lieu en lieu faisant du bien et guérissant tous ceux qui étaient sous l’empire du diable, car Dieu était avec lui.
39 Nous sommes témoins de tout ce qu’il a fait dans le pays des Juifs et à Jérusalem. Ils l’ont tué, en le pendant au bois.
40 Dieu l’a ressuscité le troisième jour, et il a permis qu’il apparût,
41 non à tout le peuple, mais aux témoins choisis d’avance par Dieu, à nous qui avons mangé et bu avec lui, après qu’il fut ressuscité des morts.
42 Et Jésus nous a ordonné de prêcher au peuple et d’attester que c’est lui qui a été établi par Dieu juge des vivants et des morts.
43 Tous les prophètes rendent de lui le témoignage que quiconque croit en lui reçoit par son nom le pardon des péchés.
44 Comme Pierre prononçait encore ces mots, le Saint Esprit descendit sur tous ceux qui écoutaient la parole.
45 Tous les fidèles circoncis qui étaient venus avec Pierre furent étonnés de ce que le don du Saint Esprit était aussi répandu sur les païens.
46 Car ils les entendaient parler en langues et glorifier Dieu.
47 Alors Pierre dit: Peut-on refuser l’eau du baptême à ceux qui ont reçu le Saint Esprit aussi bien que nous?
48 Et il ordonna qu’ils fussent baptisés au nom du Seigneur. Sur quoi ils le prièrent de rester quelques jours auprès d’eux.

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
