Pwovèb 14
1 Bon konprann yon fanm fè kay li mache byen. Men, yon fanm sòt ap kraze kay li ak pwòp men li.
2 Moun ki mache dwat, se yo ki gen krentif pou Seyè a. Men, moun k’ap mache kwochi pa pran Bondye pou anyen.
3 Pawòl nan bouch moun san konprann, se fwèt pou dèyè yo. Men, pawòl nan bouch moun ki gen bon konprann, se pwoteksyon yo.
4 Kote ki pa gen bèf pou rale chari pa gen rekòt. Lè bèt ou anfòm w’ap fè bon rekòt.
5 Yon bon temwen p’ap bay manti. Yon fo temwen p’ap di verite.
6 Moun ki gen lògèy plen kè yo, yo mèt chache konesans, yo p’ap janm jwenn li. Men, pou moun ki gen lespri, se bagay fasil.
7 Pa pwoche bò kote moun san konprann. Se pa anba bouch yo w’ap pran anyen.
8 Moun ki gen bon konprann konnen sa l’ap fè. Moun sòt mete nan tèt li li konnen, men se tèt li l’ap twonpe.
9 Moun sòt pran peche sèvi jwèt. Men, moun k’ap mache dwat pare pou rekonèt tò yo.
10 Lè ou nan lapenn, se ou ki konnen sa w’ap soufri. Konsa tou, lè kè ou kontan, pesonn pa ka kontan avè ou.
11 Fanmi mechan yo gen pou disparèt. Men, fanmi moun k’ap mache dwat yo gen pou devlope.
12 Chemen ou kwè ki bon an, se li ki mennen tou dwat nan lanmò.
13 Ou mèt ap ri, kè ou ka nan lapenn. Apre kontantman, se kè sere.
14 Moun k’ap fè sa ki mal ap jwenn sa l’ap chache a. Konsa tou, moun k’ap fè byen an ap jwenn rekonpans li.
15 Yon moun sòt ap kwè tou sa yo di l’. Men, moun ki gen konprann veye kote l’ap mete pye l’.
16 Moun ki gen bon konprann pran prekosyon yo, yo egzante malè. Moun sòt yo awogan, yo toujou konprann zafè yo bon.
17 Lè yon moun gen san wo, l’ap toujou fè betiz. Men, moun ki kalkile anvan ap toujou rete kè pòpòz.
18 Moun san konprann aji tankou moun fou. Men, rekonpans moun ki gen lespri se konesans.
19 Move moun gen pou wete chapo devan bon moun. Moun mechan gen pou bese tèt devan moun k’ap mache dwat yo.
20 Lè ou pòv, ou pa gen zanmi. Lè ou rich, ou plen zanmi.
21 Se yon peche ou fè lè ou meprize frè parèy ou. Men, ala bon sa bon pou moun ki gen pitye pou pòv malere!
22 Lè w’ap chache fè sa ki mal, ou pèdi chemen ou. Men, lè w’ap chache fè sa ki byen, moun ap toujou renmen ou, yo p’ap janm lage ou.
23 Travay, w’a jwenn tou sa ou bezwen. Rete chita ap pale anpil ap rann ou pòv.
24 Rekonpans moun ki gen konprann se konesans. Moun san konprann ap toujou aji tankou moun sòt.
25 Lè yon temwen di laverite, li sove lavi inonsan. Lè li bay manti, li twonpe jij yo.
26 Lè yon moun gen krentif pou Bondye, li gen kote pou l’ apiye. Pitit li yo ap jwenn pwoteksyon bò kot Bondye.
27 Gen krentif pou Bondye, w’a gen lavi. Ou p’ap tonbe lè lavi ou an danje.
28 Tout pouvwa yon wa, se lè peyi l’ap kòmande a gen anpil moun. Men, lè pa gen moun nan peyi a, wa a pa vo anyen.
29 Moun ki pa fè kòlè fasil, se moun ki gen bon konprann. Men, moun ki gen san wo fè wè jan li sòt.
30 Lè ou gen kè ou poze, ou kenbe kò ou an sante. Men, anvye sò lòt moun se tankou yon maladi k’ap manje ou nan zo.
31 Lè w’ap peze pòv malere, se Bondye ki fè l’ la w’ap derespekte. Men, lè ou aji byen ak pòv, se pi bèl sèvis ou ka rann Bondye.
32 Mechanste mechan an, se sa k’ap jete l’ atè. Men, moun ki fè sa ki byen, y’ap pwoteje l’ menm lè lavi l’ an danje.
33 Moun ki gen konprann, se tout tan y’ap chache konnen. Men, moun sòt pa chache konnen anyen.
34 Lè gen jistis nan yon peyi, sa leve peyi a. Men, peche lenjistis se yon wont pou yon nasyon.
35 Wa a kontan lè moun k’ap travay avè l’ yo fè travay yo byen. Men, l’ap move sou moun k’ap fè travay yo mal.

Proverbes 14
1 La femme sage bâtit sa maison, Et la femme insensée la renverse de ses propres mains.
2 Celui qui marche dans la droiture craint l’Éternel, Mais celui qui prend des voies tortueuses le méprise.
3 Dans la bouche de l’insensé est une verge pour son orgueil, Mais les lèvres des sages les gardent.
4 S’il n’y a pas de boeufs, la crèche est vide; C’est à la vigueur des boeufs qu’on doit l’abondance des revenus.
5 Un témoin fidèle ne ment pas, Mais un faux témoin dit des mensonges.
6 Le moqueur cherche la sagesse et ne la trouve pas, Mais pour l’homme intelligent la science est chose facile.
7 Éloigne-toi de l’insensé; Ce n’est pas sur ses lèvres que tu aperçois la science.
8 La sagesse de l’homme prudent, c’est l’intelligence de sa voie; La folie des insensés, c’est la tromperie.
9 Les insensés se font un jeu du péché, Mais parmi les hommes droits se trouve la bienveillance.
10 Le coeur connaît ses propres chagrins, Et un étranger ne saurait partager sa joie.
11 La maison des méchants sera détruite, Mais la tente des hommes droits fleurira.
12 Telle voie paraît droite à un homme, Mais son issue, c’est la voie de la mort.
13 Au milieu même du rire le coeur peut être affligé, Et la joie peut finir par la détresse.
14 Celui dont le coeur s’égare se rassasie de ses voies, Et l’homme de bien se rassasie de ce qui est en lui.
15 L’homme simple croit tout ce qu’on dit, Mais l’homme prudent est attentif à ses pas.
16 Le sage a de la retenue et se détourne du mal, Mais l’insensé est arrogant et plein de sécurité.
17 Celui qui est prompt à la colère fait des sottises, Et l’homme plein de malice s’attire la haine.
18 Les simples ont en partage la folie, Et les hommes prudents se font de la science une couronne.
19 Les mauvais s’inclinent devant les bons, Et les méchants aux portes du juste.
20 Le pauvre est odieux même à son ami, Mais les amis du riche sont nombreux.
21 Celui qui méprise son prochain commet un péché, Mais heureux celui qui a pitié des misérables!
22 Ceux qui méditent le mal ne s’égarent-ils pas? Mais ceux qui méditent le bien agissent avec bonté et fidélité.
23 Tout travail procure l’abondance, Mais les paroles en l’air ne mènent qu’à la disette.
24 La richesse est une couronne pour les sages; La folie des insensés est toujours de la folie.
25 Le témoin véridique délivre des âmes, Mais le trompeur dit des mensonges.
26 Celui qui craint l’Éternel possède un appui ferme, Et ses enfants ont un refuge auprès de lui.
27 La crainte de l’Éternel est une source de vie, Pour détourner des pièges de la mort.
28 Quand le peuple est nombreux, c’est la gloire d’un roi; Quand le peuple manque, c’est la ruine du prince.
29 Celui qui est lent à la colère a une grande intelligence, Mais celui qui est prompt à s’emporter proclame sa folie.
30 Un coeur calme est la vie du corps, Mais l’envie est la carie des os.
31 Opprimer le pauvre, c’est outrager celui qui l’a fait; Mais avoir pitié de l’indigent, c’est l’honorer.
32 Le méchant est renversé par sa méchanceté, Mais le juste trouve un refuge même en sa mort.
33 Dans un coeur intelligent repose la sagesse, Mais au milieu des insensés elle se montre à découvert.
34 La justice élève une nation, Mais le péché est la honte des peuples.
35 La faveur du roi est pour le serviteur prudent, Et sa colère pour celui qui fait honte.

Proverbs 14
1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.
26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
