1 Nan dizyèm mwa, nevyèm lanne rèy Sedesyas, wa peyi Jida a, Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan, vini ak tout lame li a, li atake lavil Jerizalèm. Li sènen li toupatou.
2 Sou nevyèm jou nan katriyèm mwa, onzyèm lanne rèy Sedesyas la, lènmi yo fè yon twou nan miray ranpa a.
3 Lè sa a, tout gwo chèf wa Babilòn yo antre nan lavil la, yo pran pozisyon nan Pòtay Mitan an: Te gen Negal Sarezè, Samga-Nebo, Sasekim, ki te chèf nèg konfyans wa yo, yon lòt Negal-Sarezè ki te chèf konseye yo ansanm ak tout lòt gwo chèf wa Babilòn yo.
4 Lè wa Sedesyas ak tout sòlda li yo wè sa, yo tann lannwit rive, yo mete deyò. Yo pase nan jaden wa a, yo soti nan pòtay kote de miray yo kontre a, yo kite lavil la. Yo pran chemen ki mennen nan Fon Jouden an.
5 Men, sòlda lame Babilòn yo rapouswiv yo. Yo mete men sou Sedesyas nan plenn toupre lavil Jeriko a. Yo pran l’, yo mennen l’ bay Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan, ki te lavil Ribla, nan peyi Amat. Rive la, wa Babilòn lan bay lòd sa pou yo fè Sedesyas.
6 Li fè yo touye pitit gason Sedesyas yo la devan je msye. Li fè touye tout chèf peyi Jida yo tou.
7 Apre sa, li fe yo pete de je Sedesyas. Lèfini, li fè yo mare l’ ak de chenn kwiv pou yo mennen l’ Babilòn.
8 Moun Babilòn yo menm, bò pa yo, mete dife nan kay wa a, nan kay tout grannèg yo epi yo kraze miray ranpa lavil Jerizalèm.
9 Lèfini, Nebouzaradan, chèf gad yo, pran tout rès moun ki te rete nan lavil la ansanm ak sa ki te kouri kite lavil la, li depòte yo lavil Babilòn.
10 Men, li kite tout moun ki pòv yo, tout moun ki pa gen anyen yo rete nan peyi Jida a. Li ba yo jaden rezen ak lòt jaden pou yo travay.
11 Men Nèbikadneza, wa lavil Babilòn, bay Neboucharadan, chèf lagad la lòd sa a pou Jeremi:
12 -Chache kote Jeremi ye. Pran swen li byen. Pa fè l’ anyen. Okontrè, tout sa l’a mande, w’a ba li l’.
13 Se konsa Neboucharadan, chèf lagad la, Nebouchasban, chèf nèg konfyans yo, Negal-Sarezè, chèf konseye yo, ansanm ak tout lòt chèf wa Babilòn yo
14 voye chache Jeremi nan lakou gad palè yo. Yo renmèt li nan men Gedalya, pitit Akikam, pitit pitit Chafan, ki te pou fè l’ rive lakay li san danje. Se konsa Jeremi te rete nan mitan pèp la.
15 Antan Jeremi te nan prizon nan lakou gad palè yo, Seyè a te pale avè l’ pou di l’ konsa:
16 -Al pale ak Ebèdmelèk, moun peyi Letiopi a. W’a di li men mesaj Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, bay: Mwen pral fè tou sa mwen te di ki gen pou rive a rive vre. Se va pou malè lavil la, se p’ap pou byen li. Lè sa a, w’a la pou wè tout bagay.
17 Men jou sa a m’ap sove ou. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa. Ou p’ap tonbe nan men moun k’ap fè ou pè yo.
18 Se vre wi, m’ap sove ou, yo p’ap touye ou. W’ap sove, w’ap vivan paske ou te gen konfyans nan mwen. Wi, se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.

1 Lorsque Jérusalem fut prise, -la neuvième année de Sédécias, roi de Juda, le dixième mois, Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, vint avec toute son armée devant Jérusalem, et en fit le siège;
2 la onzième année de Sédécias, le neuvième jour du quatrième mois, la brèche fut faite à la ville, –
3 tous les chefs du roi de Babylone s’avancèrent, et occupèrent la porte du milieu: Nergal Scharetser, Samgar Nebu, Sarsekim, chef des eunuques, Nergal Scharetser, chef des mages, et tous les autres chefs du roi de Babylone.
4 Dès que Sédécias, roi de Juda, et tous les gens de guerre les eurent vus, ils s’enfuirent, et sortirent de la ville pendant la nuit par le chemin du jardin du roi, par la porte entre les deux murs, et ils prirent le chemin de la plaine.
5 Mais l’armée des Chaldéens les poursuivit, et atteignit Sédécias dans les plaines de Jéricho. Ils le prirent, et le firent monter vers Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, à Ribla, dans le pays de Hamath; et il prononça contre lui une sentence.
6 Le roi de Babylone fit égorger à Ribla les fils de Sédécias en sa présence; le roi de Babylone fit aussi égorger tous les grands de Juda.
7 Puis il fit crever les yeux à Sédécias, et le fit lier avec des chaînes d’airain, pour l’emmener à Babylone.
8 Les Chaldéens brûlèrent par le feu la maison du roi et les maisons du peuple, et ils démolirent les murailles de Jérusalem.
9 Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena captifs à Babylone ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés dans la ville, ceux qui s’étaient rendus à lui, et le reste du peuple.
10 Mais Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, laissa dans le pays de Juda quelques-uns des plus pauvres du peuple, ceux qui n’avaient rien; et il leur donna alors des vignes et des champs.
11 Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, avait donné cet ordre au sujet de Jérémie par Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes:
12 Prends-le, et veille sur lui; ne lui fais aucun mal, mais agis à son égard comme il te dira.
13 Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, Nebuschazban, chef des eunuques, Nergal Scharetser, chef des mages, et tous les chefs du roi de Babylone,
14 envoyèrent chercher Jérémie dans la cour de la prison, et ils le remirent à Guedalia, fils d’Achikam, fils de Schaphan, pour qu’il fût conduit dans sa maison. Et il resta au milieu du peuple.
15 La parole de l’Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie en ces mots, pendant qu’il était enfermé dans la cour de la prison:
16 Va, parle à Ébed Mélec, l’Éthiopien, et dis-lui: Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées, le Dieu d’Israël: Voici, je vais faire venir sur cette ville les choses que j’ai annoncées pour le mal et non pour le bien; elles arriveront en ce jour devant toi.
17 Mais en ce jour je te délivrerai, dit l’Éternel, et tu ne seras pas livré entre les mains des hommes que tu crains.
18 Je te sauverai, et tu ne tomberas pas sous l’épée; ta vie sera ton butin, parce que tu as eu confiance en moi, dit l’Éternel.

Jeremiah 39
1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.
4 And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.
5 But the Chaldeans’ army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.
6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
8 And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.
9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11 Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,
12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.
13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon’s princes;
14 Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.
15 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
16 Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.
17 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.
18 For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.
