3 Jezi moute sou yon ti mòn, li chita la ansanm ak disip li yo.
4 Jou fèt Delivrans jwif yo te vanse rive.
5 Jezi gade, li wè yon gwo foul moun ki t’ap vin jwenn li. Li rele Filip, li di l’ konsa: Ki bò nou ta ka jwenn manje pou n’ achte pou n’ bay moun sa yo manje?
6 (Li t’ap di sa pou l’ te wè sa Filip tapral reponn li; li menm li te byen konnen sa l’ tapral fè.)
7 Filip reponn li: Menm si nou ta gen desan (200) goud pou achte pen, pa ta gen ase pou chak moun ta jwenn ti kal.
8 Yon lòt nan disip yo, Andre, frè Simon Pyè a, di li:
9 Gen yon ti gason la a ki gen senk pen fèt ak farenn lòj, ak de ti pwason. Men, sa pa anyen pou tout kantite moun sa yo.
10 Lè sa a, Jezi di yo: Fè moun yo chita. (Te gen anpil zèb bò la.) Moun yo chita, te gen senkmil (5.000) gason konsa.
11 Jezi pran pen yo; lè li fin di Bondye mèsi pou yo, li bay tout moun ki te chita yo. Li fè menm jan an tou ak pwason yo. Yo tout te jwenn kantite yo te vle.
12 Lè tout fin manje vant plen, Jezi di disip li yo: Ranmase tout ti moso ki rete yo. Pa kite anyen gaspiye.
13 Yo ranmase tout moso ki te rete nan senk pen moun yo te manje yo. Yo plen douz panyen pote ale.
14 Lè moun yo wè mirak Jezi te fè a, yo di konsa: Se vre wi, nonm sa a se pwofèt ki te gen pou vini sou latè a.
15 Jezi te vin konnen yo tapral pran l’ pa fòs pou yo fè l’ wa. Li wete kò l’ ankò sou ti mòn lan, men fwa sa a pou kont li.
16 Lè solèy fin kouche, disip li yo desann bò lanmè a.
17 Yo moute nan yon kannòt, yo pran travèse lanmè a nan direksyon Kapènawòm. Te fin fè nwit nèt, men Jezi pa t’ ankò vin jwenn yo.
18 Dlo lanmè a te move paske van an te fò.
19 Yo te gen tan naje zaviwon senk a sis kilomèt konsa deja, lè yo wè Jezi ki t’ap vin bò kannòt la. Li t’ap mache sou dlo a. Yo tout te pè.
20 Men, Jezi di yo: Se mwen menm. Nou pa bezwen pè.
21 Yo te vle pran l’ nan kannòt la, men lamenm yo fè tè: yo te gen tan rive kote yo taprale a.
22 Nan denmen, foul moun ki te rete lòt bò lanmè a te wè te gen yon sèl kannòt ase. Yo te konnen Jezi pa t’ moute nan kannòt la avèk disip li yo. Disip li yo te pati pou kont yo.
23 Men, te gen lòt kannòt ki te soti lavil Tiberyad ki te rive bò kote yo te manje pen an apre Seyè a te di Bondye mèsi a.
24 Lè foul moun yo wè ni Jezi, ni disip li yo pa t’ la, yo moute nan kannòt sa yo, y’ al chache l’ lavil Kapènawòm.
25 Yo jwenn Jezi lòt bò lanmè a. Yo di li: Mèt, kilè ou gen tan rive isit la?
26 Jezi reponn yo: Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Se pa paske nou wè mirak mwen fè yo non kifè n’ap chache m’ konsa. Se paske nou manje pen plen vant nou.
27 Pa travay pou manje k’ap gate! Travay pito pou manje k’ap konsève, manje k’ap bay lavi ki p’ap janm fini an. Kalite manje sa a, se Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a ki va ban nou l’, paske se pou sa Bondye Papa a voye li.
28 Lè sa a, yo mande li: Kisa pou n’ fè si nou vle fè travay Bondye?
29 Jezi reponn yo: Sèl travay Bondye mande nou pou n’ fè, se pou nou mete konfyans nou nan moun li voye a.
30 Yo di li: Ki mirak ou ka fè nou wè pou nou ka kwè nan ou? Kisa ou pral fè?
31 Zansèt nou yo te manje laman nan dezè a, jan sa ekri nan Liv la: Li ba yo pen ki soti nan syèl la pou yo manje.
32 Jezi reponn yo: Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Moyiz pa t’ ban nou pen ki soti nan syèl la. Men, se Papa m’ k’ap ban nou pen ki soti nan syèl tout bon an.
33 Paske pen Bondye bay la, se moun ki desann sot nan syèl la pou bay lèzòm lavi.
34 Yo di li: Mèt, toujou ban n’ nan kalite pen sa a.
35 Jezi di yo: Se mwen menm pen ki bay lavi a. Moun ki vin jwenn mwen p’ap janm grangou; moun ki kwè nan mwen p’ap janm swaf dlo.
36 Men, mwen te di nou sa: nou wè m’, men nou pa kwè toujou.
37 Tout moun Papa a ban mwen, gen pou vin jwenn mwen. Mwen p’ap janm mete moun ki vin jwenn mwen yo deyò.
38 Paske, se pa pou fè volonte pa m’ mwen desann sot nan syèl la, men pou m’ fè volonte moun ki voye m’ lan.
39 Men sa moun ki voye m’ lan vle: li vle pou m’ pa pèdi yonn nan moun li ban mwen yo, men pou m’ fè yo leve soti vivan nan lanmò nan dènye jou a.
40 Men sa Papa m’ vle: Tout moun ki wè Pitit la, ki kwè nan li, se pou yo gen lavi ki p’ap janm fini an. Mwen gen pou m’ fè yo leve soti vivan nan lanmò nan dènye jou a.
41 Jwif yo te fache anpil sou Jezi poutèt li te di: Se mwen menm ki pen ki desann sot nan syèl la.
42 Yo t’ap di: Apa Jezi, pitit gason Jozèf la? Nou konn papa l’ ak manman li. Ki jan li ka fè di koulye a li desann sot nan syèl la?
43 Jezi reponn yo: Nou pa bezwen ap bougonnen konsa.
44 Pesonn pa ka vin jwenn mwen si Papa ki voye m’ lan pa rele l’ vini. Mwen menm, m’a fè l’ leve soti vivan nan lanmò nan dènye jou a.
45 Se sa ki ekri nan liv pwofèt yo: Bondye menm ap moutre yo tout bagay. Tout moun ki koute Papa a, ki asepte tou sa l’ moutre yo, y’ap vin jwenn mwen.
46 Sa pa vle di gen pesonn ki janm wè Papa a. Sèl moun ki wè Papa a, se moun ki soti bò kote Bondye ye a.
47 Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: moun ki mete konfyans yo nan Bondye, se yo ki gen lavi ki p’ap janm fini an.
48 Se mwen menm pen ki bay lavi a.
49 Zansèt nou yo te manje laman nan dezè a, atousa yo mouri.
50 Men, moun ki manje pen ki desann sot nan syèl la, yo p’ap janm mouri.
51 Se mwen menm pen ki bay lavi a, pen ki desann sot nan syèl la. Si yon moun manje nan pen sa a, l’ap viv pou tout tan. Pen mwen gen pou m’ bay la, se kò mwen. M’ap bay li pou tout moun ki sou latè ka jwenn lavi.
52 Pawòl sa yo fè jwif yo tonbe diskite yonn ak lòt. Yo t’ap mande: Kouman nonm sa a kapab ban nou kò l’ pou n’ manje?
53 Jezi di yo: Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: si nou pa manje kò Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a, si nou pa bwè san li, nou p’ap gen lavi nan nou.
54 Moun ki manje kò mwen, ki bwè san mwen, li gen lavi ki p’ap janm fini an. Mwen gen pou m’ fè l’ leve soti vivan nan lanmò nan dènye jou a.
55 Paske kò m’, se yon manje tout bon, san mwen, se yon bwason tout bon.
56 Moun ki manje kò m’, ki bwè san m’, y’ap fè yonn avè m’, epi m’ap fè yonn avè yo tou.
57 Papa ki voye m’ lan, li vivan. Se li menm ki ban m’ lavi. Konsa tou, moun ki manje m’, m’a ba yo lavi.
58 Men pen ki desann sot nan syèl la. Li pa tankou pen zansèt nou yo te manje a, paske pen yo a pa t’ anpeche yo mouri. Moun ki manje pen sa a ap viv pou tout tan.
59 Jezi te di pawòl sa yo antan l’ te nan sinagòg Kapènawòm lan ap moutre moun yo anpil bagay.
60 Lè yo fin tande sa, anpil nan disip Jezi yo di: Pawòl sa a twò rèd. Ki moun ki ka pran li?
61 Jezi te gen tan wè disip li yo t’ap bougonnen sou pawòl la. Li di yo: Sa ofiske nou, pa vre?
62 Kisa n’a di lè n’a wè Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a tounen moute kote l’ te ye anvan an?
63 Se lespri a ki bay lavi, kò a pa vo anyen. Pawòl mwen di nou yo soti nan Lespri Bondye, yo bay lavi.
64 Men, gen kèk moun pami nou ki pa kwè. (Jezi te pale konsa, paske depi nan konmansman li te konnen moun ki pa t’ap kwè yo ansanm ak moun ki te gen pou trayi l’ la.)
65 Li di ankò: Se poutèt sa mwen te di nou: pesonn pa ka vin jwenn mwen si se pa Bondye Papa a ki fè sa pou li.
66 Depi lè sa a, anpil nan disip yo wete kò yo, yo pa mache avè l’ ankò.
67 Lè Jezi wè sa, li di douz disip yo: Nou menm, nou pa vle ale tou?
68 Simon Pyè reponn li: Seyè, ki moun pou n’ al jwenn? Se ou menm ki gen pawòl k’ap bay lavi ki p’ap janm fini an.
69 Koulye a nou kwè, nou konnen se ou menm ki moun Bondye chwazi a.
70 Jezi reponn yo: Eske se pa mwen ki chwazi nou touledouz? Malgre sa, yonn nan nou se yon dyab.
71 Li t’ap pale sou Jida, pitit Simon Iskariòt la. Paske, atout Jida te yonn nan douz disip yo, se li ki tapral trayi li.

1 Après cela, Jésus s’en alla de l’autre côté de la mer de Galilée, de Tibériade.
2 Une grande foule le suivait, parce qu’elle voyait les miracles qu’il opérait sur les malades.
3 Jésus monta sur la montagne, et là il s’assit avec ses disciples.
4 Or, la Pâque était proche, la fête des Juifs.
5 Ayant levé les yeux, et voyant qu’une grande foule venait à lui, Jésus dit à Philippe: Où achèterons-nous des pains, pour que ces gens aient à manger?
6 Il disait cela pour l’éprouver, car il savait ce qu’il allait faire.
7 Philippe lui répondit: Les pains qu’on aurait pour deux cents deniers ne suffiraient pas pour que chacun en reçût un peu.
8 Un de ses disciples, André, frère de Simon Pierre, lui dit:
9 Il y a ici un jeune garçon qui a cinq pains d’orge et deux poissons; mais qu’est-ce que cela pour tant de gens?
10 Jésus dit: Faites-les asseoir. Il y avait dans ce lieu beaucoup d’herbe. Ils s’assirent donc, au nombre d’environ cinq mille hommes.
11 Jésus prit les pains, rendit grâces, et les distribua à ceux qui étaient assis; il leur donna de même des poissons, autant qu’ils en voulurent.
12 Lorsqu’ils furent rassasiés, il dit à ses disciples: Ramassez les morceaux qui restent, afin que rien ne se perde.
13 Ils les ramassèrent donc, et ils remplirent douze paniers avec les morceaux qui restèrent des cinq pains d’orge, après que tous eurent mangé.
14 Ces gens, ayant vu le miracle que Jésus avait fait, disaient: Celui-ci est vraiment le prophète qui doit venir dans le monde.
15 Et Jésus, sachant qu’ils allaient venir l’enlever pour le faire roi, se retira de nouveau sur la montagne, lui seul.
16 Quand le soir fut venu, ses disciples descendirent au bord de la mer.
17 Étant montés dans une barque, ils traversaient la mer pour se rendre à Capernaüm. Il faisait déjà nuit, et Jésus ne les avait pas encore rejoints.
18 Il soufflait un grand vent, et la mer était agitée.
19 Après avoir ramé environ vingt-cinq ou trente stades, ils virent Jésus marchant sur la mer et s’approchant de la barque. Et ils eurent peur.
20 Mais Jésus leur dit: C’est moi; n’ayez pas peur!
21 Ils voulaient donc le prendre dans la barque, et aussitôt la barque aborda au lieu où ils allaient.
22 La foule qui était restée de l’autre côté de la mer avait remarqué qu’il ne se trouvait là qu’une seule barque, et que Jésus n’était pas monté dans cette barque avec ses disciples, mais qu’ils étaient partis seuls.
23 Le lendemain, comme d’autres barques étaient arrivées de Tibériade près du lieu où ils avaient mangé le pain après que le Seigneur eut rendu grâces,
24 les gens de la foule, ayant vu que ni Jésus ni ses disciples n’étaient là, montèrent eux-mêmes dans ces barques et allèrent à Capernaüm à la recherche de Jésus.
25 Et l’ayant trouvé au delà de la mer, ils lui dirent: Rabbi, quand es-tu venu ici?
26 Jésus leur répondit: En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, vous me cherchez, non parce que vous avez vu des miracles, mais parce que vous avez mangé des pains et que vous avez été rassasiés.
27 Travaillez, non pour la nourriture qui périt, mais pour celle qui subsiste pour la vie éternelle, et que le Fils de l’homme vous donnera; car c’est lui que le Père, que Dieu a marqué de son sceau.
28 Ils lui dirent: Que devons-nous faire, pour faire les oeuvres de Dieu?
29 Jésus leur répondit: L’oeuvre de Dieu, c’est que vous croyiez en celui qu’il a envoyé.
30 Quel miracle fais-tu donc, lui dirent-ils, afin que nous le voyions, et que nous croyions en toi? Que fais-tu?
31 Nos pères ont mangé la manne dans le désert, selon ce qui est écrit: Il leur donna le pain du ciel à manger.
32 Jésus leur dit: En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, Moïse ne vous a pas donné le pain du ciel, mais mon Père vous donne le vrai pain du ciel;
33 car le pain de Dieu, c’est celui qui descend du ciel et qui donne la vie au monde.
34 Ils lui dirent: Seigneur, donne-nous toujours ce pain.
35 Jésus leur dit: Je suis le pain de vie. Celui qui vient à moi n’aura jamais faim, et celui qui croit en moi n’aura jamais soif.
36 Mais, je vous l’ai dit, vous m’avez vu, et vous ne croyez point.
37 Tous ceux que le Père me donne viendront à moi, et je ne mettrai pas dehors celui qui vient à moi;
38 car je suis descendu du ciel pour faire, non ma volonté, mais la volonté de celui qui m’a envoyé.
39 Or, la volonté de celui qui m’a envoyé, c’est que je ne perde rien de tout ce qu’il m’a donné, mais que je le ressuscite au dernier jour.
40 La volonté de mon Père, c’est que quiconque voit le Fils et croit en lui ait la vie éternelle; et je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.
41 Les Juifs murmuraient à son sujet, parce qu’il avait dit: Je suis le pain qui est descendu du ciel.
42 Et ils disaient: N’est-ce pas là Jésus, le fils de Joseph, celui dont nous connaissons le père et la mère? Comment donc dit-il: Je suis descendu du ciel?
43 Jésus leur répondit: Ne murmurez pas entre vous.
44 Nul ne peut venir à moi, si le Père qui m’a envoyé ne l’attire; et je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.
45 Il est écrit dans les prophètes: Ils seront tous enseignés de Dieu. Ainsi quiconque a entendu le Père et a reçu son enseignement vient à moi.
46 C’est que nul n’a vu le Père, sinon celui qui vient de Dieu; celui-là a vu le Père.
47 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui croit en moi a la vie éternelle.
48 Je suis le pain de vie.
49 Vos pères ont mangé la manne dans le désert, et ils sont morts.
50 C’est ici le pain qui descend du ciel, afin que celui qui en mange ne meure point.
51 Je suis le pain vivant qui est descendu du ciel. Si quelqu’un mange de ce pain, il vivra éternellement; et le pain que je donnerai, c’est ma chair, que je donnerai pour la vie du monde.
52 Là-dessus, les Juifs disputaient entre eux, disant: Comment peut-il nous donner sa chair à manger?
53 Jésus leur dit: En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, si vous ne mangez la chair du Fils de l’homme, et si vous ne buvez son sang, vous n’avez point la vie en vous-mêmes.
54 Celui qui mange ma chair et qui boit mon sang a la vie éternelle; et je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.
55 Car ma chair est vraiment une nourriture, et mon sang est vraiment un breuvage.
56 Celui qui mange ma chair et qui boit mon sang demeure en moi, et je demeure en lui.
57 Comme le Père qui est vivant m’a envoyé, et que je vis par le Père, ainsi celui qui me mange vivra par moi.
58 C’est ici le pain qui est descendu du ciel. Il n’en est pas comme de vos pères qui ont mangé la manne et qui sont morts: celui qui mange ce pain vivra éternellement.
59 Jésus dit ces choses dans la synagogue, enseignant à Capernaüm.
60 Plusieurs de ses disciples, après l’avoir entendu, dirent: Cette parole est dure; qui peut l’écouter?
61 Jésus, sachant en lui-même que ses disciples murmuraient à ce sujet, leur dit: Cela vous scandalise-t-il?
62 Et si vous voyez le Fils de l’homme monter où il était auparavant?…
63 C’est l’esprit qui vivifie; la chair ne sert de rien. Les paroles que je vous ai dites sont esprit et vie.
64 Mais il en est parmi vous quelques-uns qui ne croient point. Car Jésus savait dès le commencement qui étaient ceux qui ne croyaient point, et qui était celui qui le livrerait.
65 Et il ajouta: C’est pourquoi je vous ai dit que nul ne peut venir à moi, si cela ne lui a été donné par le Père.
66 Dès ce moment, plusieurs de ses disciples se retirèrent, et ils n’allaient plus avec lui.
67 Jésus donc dit aux douze: Et vous, ne voulez-vous pas aussi vous en aller?
68 Simon Pierre lui répondit: Seigneur, à qui irions-nous? Tu as les paroles de la vie éternelle.
69 Et nous avons cru et nous avons connu que tu es le Christ, le Saint de Dieu.
70 Jésus leur répondit: N’est-ce pas moi qui vous ai choisis, vous les douze? Et l’un de vous est un démon!
71 Il parlait de Judas Iscariot, fils de Simon; car c’était lui qui devait le livrer, lui, l’un des douze.

1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
16 And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
17 And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;
23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)
24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life.
49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
