Ezekyel 33
1 Seyè a pale avè m’ ankò. Li di m’ konsa:
2 -Nonma o! Pale ak moun pèp Izrayèl yo. W’a di yo konsa: Lè m’ap voye lènmi atake yon peyi, moun peyi a va chwazi yonn nan yo, y’a mete l’ faksyonnè pou veye peyi a.
3 Lè faksyonnè a va wè lènmi ap pwoche, l’a bay yon kout klewon pou avèti moun yo.
4 Si yon moun tande klewon an, men li pa okipe l’, kifè lènmi an rive, li touye l’, se djòb pa moun sa a, l’ap pote reskonsablite lanmò li.
5 Li tande kout klewon an pati, men li pa okipe sa, kifè sa lakòz li mouri. Paske si li te koute avètisman an, li ta ka pa mouri.
6 Men, si faksyonnè a wè lènmi ap vini epi li pa bay kout klewon an pou avèti moun yo, lènmi an ap vini, l’ap touye moun. Moun yo ap mouri akòz peche yo fè, se vre. Men, se faksyonnè a k’ap pote reskonsablite lanmò yo.
7 Koulye a, nonm o! Mwen mete ou faksyonnè pou veye pou pèp Izrayèl la. Lè w’a tande mesaj m’a ba ou a, w’a avèti yo pou mwen.
8 Si mwen fè ou konnen yon mechan gen pou l’ mouri, epi ou pa avèti l’ pou l’ chanje, pou l’ kite move pant l’ap swiv la pou l’ ka sove lavi l’, l’ap toujou mouri poutèt peche l’ yo, men se ou menm m’ap rann reskonsab lanmò li.
9 Men, si ou avèti mechan an, lèfini li pa chanje, li pa kite move pant l’ap swiv la, l’ap mouri poutèt peche l’ yo, men ou menm w’ap sove lavi pa ou.
10 Seyè a pale avè m’, li di m’ ankò: -Nonm o! W’a fè moun pèp Izrayèl yo chonje jan yo t’ap plede repete: Peche nou yo ak fòt nou yo ap peze lou sou nou. Se fini y’ap fini ak nou! Nou pa ka viv nan kondisyon sa a ankò!
11 Enben, ou menm w’a di yo: Jan nou konnen mwen vivan vre a, se mwen menm Seyè a k’ap pale! Men sa mwen di: Mwen pa pran ankenn plezi nan wè mechan yo mouri. Mwen ta pito wè yo sispann fè sa ki mal pou yo ka viv. Nou menm moun pèp Izrayèl yo, sispann fè sa nou pa dwe fè. Tounen vin jwenn mwen. Poukisa se lanmò n’ap chache konsa?
12 Ou menm, nonm o! Men sa w’a di moun ou yo: Yon moun te mèt bon kou l’ bon, li te mèt mache dwat kou l’ mache dwat, jou li fè sa ki mal, li gen pou l’ peye sa. Jou mechan an va sispann fè sa ki mal, yo p’ap pini l’ pou sa li te konn fè a. Konsa tou, lè yon moun ki t’ap mache dwat pran fè sa ki mal, yo p’ap gade sou jan l’ te konn mache dwat la pou yo pa fè l’ peye sa l’ fè a.
13 Wi, mwen deklare tout moun k’ap mache dwat yo gen pou viv. Men, si yo tanmen mete nan tèt yo, paske yo te konn mache dwat la yo gen dwa fè sa ki mal, mwen p’ap chonje jan yo te konn mache dwat la menm. Y’ap mouri paske yo fè sa yo pa t’ dwe fè.
14 Konsa tou, m’ avèti tout mechan yo yo gen pou mouri. Men, si yon mechan sispann fè sa ki mal, epi li tanmen mache dwat devan mwen, l’ap fè sa ki byen,
15 si pa egzanp, li renmèt garanti yo te ba li pou lajan li te prete, si l’ renmèt sa li te vòlò a, osinon si li sispann fè sa ki mal pou li mache dapre lòd mwen k’ap bay lavi a, li p’ap mouri, se viv pou li viv.
16 M’ap padonnen tout peche li te fè yo. L’ap viv paske l’ap mache dwat devan mwen, l’ap fè sa ki byen.
17 Moun ou yo ap plede di: Sa Bondye ap fè a pa bon. Men, se sa yo menm y’ap fè a ki pa bon.
18 Lè moun k’ap mache dwat la sispann fè sa ki byen pou l’ lage kò l’ nan fè sa ki mal, l’ap mouri poutèt sa.
19 Konsa tou, lè mechan an sispann fè mechanste pou li mache dwat, pou li fè sa ki byen, l’ap sove lavi l’ poutèt sa.
20 Nou di sa Bondye sèl Mèt la ap fè a pa bon. Enben, m’ap jije chak moun dapre sa yo fè. Nou tande, moun pèp Izrayèl yo!
21 Nan senkyèm jou, dizyèm mwa, douzyèm lanne depi yo te depòte nou an, yon moun ki te resi chape kò l’ soti lavil Jerizalèm vin pote nouvèl ban mwen, li di m’ lavil la tonbe nan men lènmi.
22 Lavèy jou sa a, nan aswè, mwen te santi pouvwa Seyè a chita sou mwen avèk fòs. Nan maten, lè moun lan rive, Seyè a demare lang mwen pou m’ te ka pale. Mwen pa t’ bèbè ankò.
23 Seyè a pale avè m’ ankò, li di m’ konsa:
24 -Nonm o! Rès moun k’ap viv nan lavil yo fin kraze nan peyi Izrayèl la ap plede di: Abraram te pou kont li. Yo te ba li tout peyi a pou li. Nou menm nou anpil. Konsa, tout peyi a ap rete pou nou.
25 Men sa pou ou di yo: Seyè sèl Mèt la pale, li voye di nou: N’ap manje vyann ak tout san li ladan l’. N’ap fè sèvis pou zidòl, n’ap mete san moun deyò, epi nou mete nan tèt nou tout peyi a pral rete pou nou?
26 Nou met konfyans nou nan nepe nou. N’ap fè yon bann bagay ki derespektan. Tout gason marye ap kouche ak madanm frè parèy yo. Epi nou mete nan tèt nou tout peyi a pral rete pou nou?
27 W’a pale ak yo, w’a di yo men mesaj Seyè sèl Mèt la voye ba yo: Jan nou konnen mwen vivan vre a, se mwen menm Seyè a k’ap pale: Rès moun k’ap viv nan lavil kraze yo pral mouri nan lagè. Moun k’ap viv andeyò yo, se bèt nan bwa ki pral manje yo. Moun ki al kache kò yo nan mòn, nan twou wòch, se maladi ki pral fini ak yo.
28 M’ap fè peyi a tounen yon dezè san pesonn ladan l’. Fòs pouvwa ki te fè l’ ap gonfle sou moun lan pral kraze. Mòn peyi Izrayèl yo pral tounen savann. Pesonn p’ap ka vwayaje pase ladan yo.
29 Lè m’a pini pèp la pou tout bagay derespektan yo fè yo, lè m’a fè peyi a tounen yon dezè san pesonn ladan l’, lè sa a, y’a konnen se mwen menm ki Seyè a.
30 Seyè a di m’ konsa: -Nonm o! Tout pèp la sou do ou lè yo kontre yonn ak lòt bò miray lavil la, nan papòt lakay yo. Yonn ap di lòt: Ann al tande ki mesaj Seyè a voye ban nou fwa sa a!
31 Se konsa, tankou si yo te gen dizon, tout pèp la ap sanble bò kote ou, y’ap vin chita devan ou pou yo ka koute sa w’ap di. Men, yo p’ap fè sa w’ap di yo fè. Yo pran pawòl ou yo pou fè bèl fraz. Se enterè yo ase yo konnen.
32 Pou yo, ou pa anyen pase yon mizisyen ki gen bèl vwa, k’ap chante bèl ti chante swa, ki konn jwe mizik byen. Y’ap koute tou sa w’ap di yo, men yo p’ap fè sa ou di yo fè.
33 Men, lè sa ou di ki gen pou rive a rive vre, paske l’ap rive vre, se lè sa a y’a rekonèt te gen yon pwofèt nan mitan yo.

1 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Fils de l’homme, parle aux enfants de ton peuple, et dis-leur: Lorsque je fais venir l’épée sur un pays, et que le peuple du pays prend dans son sein un homme et l’établit comme sentinelle, –
3 si cet homme voit venir l’épée sur le pays, sonne de la trompette, et avertit le peuple;
4 et si celui qui entend le son de la trompette ne se laisse pas avertir, et que l’épée vienne le surprendre, son sang sera sur sa tête.
5 Il a entendu le son de la trompette, et il ne s’est pas laissé avertir, son sang sera sur lui; s’il se laisse avertir, il sauvera son âme.
6 Si la sentinelle voit venir l’épée, et ne sonne pas de la trompette; si le peuple n’est pas averti, et que l’épée vienne enlever à quelqu’un la vie, celui-ci périra à cause de son iniquité, mais je redemanderai son sang à la sentinelle.
7 Et toi, fils de l’homme, je t’ai établi comme sentinelle sur la maison d’Israël. Tu dois écouter la parole qui sort de ma bouche, et les avertir de ma part.
8 Quand je dis au méchant: Méchant, tu mourras! si tu ne parles pas pour détourner le méchant de sa voie, ce méchant mourra dans son iniquité, et je te redemanderai son sang.
9 Mais si tu avertis le méchant pour le détourner de sa voie, et qu’il ne s’en détourne pas, il mourra dans son iniquité, et toi tu sauveras ton âme.
10 Et toi, fils de l’homme, dis à la maison d’Israël: Vous dites: Nos transgressions et nos péchés sont sur nous, et c’est à cause d’eux que nous sommes frappés de langueur; comment pourrions-nous vivre?
11 Dis-leur: je suis vivant! dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, ce que je désire, ce n’est pas que le méchant meure, c’est qu’il change de conduite et qu’il vive. Revenez, revenez de votre mauvaise voie; et pourquoi mourriez-vous, maison d’Israël?
12 Et toi, fils de l’homme, dis aux enfants de ton peuple: La justice du juste ne le sauvera pas au jour de sa transgression; et le méchant ne tombera pas par sa méchanceté le jour où il s’en détournera, de même que le juste ne pourra pas vivre par sa justice au jour de sa transgression.
13 Lorsque je dis au juste qu’il vivra, -s’il se confie dans sa justice et commet l’iniquité, toute sa justice sera oubliée, et il mourra à cause de l’iniquité qu’il a commise.
14 Lorsque je dis au méchant: Tu mourras! -s’il revient de son péché et pratique la droiture et la justice,
15 s’il rend le gage, s’il restitue ce qu’il a ravi, s’il suit les préceptes qui donnent la vie, sans commettre l’iniquité, il vivra, il ne mourra pas.
16 Tous les péchés qu’il a commis seront oubliés; il pratique la droiture et la justice, il vivra.
17 Les enfants de ton peuple disent: La voie du Seigneur n’est pas droite. C’est leur voie qui n’est pas droite.
18 Si le juste se détourne de sa justice et commet l’iniquité, il mourra à cause de cela.
19 Si le méchant revient de sa méchanceté et pratique la droiture et la justice, il vivra à cause de cela.
20 Vous dites: La voie du Seigneur n’est pas droite. Je vous jugerai chacun selon ses voies, maison d’Israël!
21 La douzième année, le cinquième jour du dixième mois de notre captivité, un homme qui s’était échappé de Jérusalem vint à moi et dit: La ville a été prise!
22 La main de l’Éternel avait été sur moi le soir avant l’arrivée du fugitif, et l’Éternel m’avait ouvert la bouche lorsqu’il vint auprès de moi le matin. Ma bouche était ouverte, et je n’étais plus muet.
23 Alors la parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
24 Fils de l’homme, ceux qui habitent ces ruines dans le pays d’Israël disent: Abraham était seul, et il a hérité le pays; à nous qui sommes nombreux, le pays est donné en possession.
25 C’est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Vous mangez vos aliments avec du sang, vous levez les yeux vers vos idoles, vous répandez le sang. Et vous posséderiez le pays!
26 Vous vous appuyez sur votre épée, vous commettez des abominations, chacun de vous déshonore la femme de son prochain. Et vous posséderiez le pays!
27 Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Je suis vivant! Ceux qui sont parmi les ruines tomberont par l’épée; ceux qui sont dans les champs, j’en ferai la pâture des bêtes; et ceux qui sont dans les forts et dans les cavernes mourront par la peste.
28 Je réduirai le pays en solitude et en désert; l’orgueil de sa force prendra fin, les montagnes d’Israël seront désolées, personne n’y passera.
29 Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel, quand je réduirai le pays en solitude et en désert, à cause de toutes les abominations qu’ils ont commises.
30 Et toi, fils de l’homme, les enfants de ton peuple s’entretiennent de toi près des murs et aux portes des maisons, et ils se disent l’un à l’autre, chacun à son frère: Venez donc, et écoutez quelle est la parole qui est procédée de l’Éternel!
31 Et ils se rendent en foule auprès de toi, et mon peuple s’assied devant toi; ils écoutent tes paroles, mais ils ne les mettent point en pratique, car leur bouche en fait un sujet de moquerie, et leur coeur se livre à la cupidité.
32 Voici, tu es pour eux comme un chanteur agréable, possédant une belle voix, et habile dans la musique. Ils écoutent tes paroles, mais ils ne les mettent point en pratique.
33 Quand ces choses arriveront, -et voici, elles arrivent! -ils sauront qu’il y avait un prophète au milieu d’eux.

Ezekiel 33
1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
22 Now the hand of the Lord was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
23 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?
27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
29 Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.
31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
