1 Samyèl 10
1 Samyèl pran yon ti poban lwil oliv, li vide l’ sou tèt Sayil. Apre sa, li bo l’, epi li di l’: -Seyè a ba ou pouvwa pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la ki rele l’ pa l’. W’a gouvènen pèp li a, w’a delivre yo anba men tout lènmi ki bò kote l’ yo. Men sa k’ap fè ou wè se Seyè a menm ki mete ou apa pou gouvènen pèp ki pou li a.
2 Lè w’a kite m’ jòdi a, w’a jwenn de mesye toupre tonm Rachèl la lavil Sèlza, nan lizyè peyi moun Benjamen yo. Y’a di ou bourik ou t’ap bouske yo, yo jwenn yo. Men, koulye a papa ou bliye bourik li yo, se pou ou li gen tèt chaje. L’ap mande: Kisa mwen pral fè pou pitit gason m’ lan?
3 Lèfini, w’a mache pi devan jouk w’a rive bò pye bwadchenn Tabò a. Lè w’a rive la, w’a kontre ak twa nèg k’ap moute lavil Betèl pou y’ al ofri bèt pou touye pou Bondye. Yonn ap mennen twa jenn ti kabrit, dezyèm lan va gen twa pen nan men l’, twazyèm lan va gen yon veso fèt an po bèt plen diven.
4 Y’a di ou bonjou, y’a ba ou de nan pen yo. W’a pran yo nan men yo.
5 Apre sa, w’a moute sou ti mòn Bondye yo rele Gibeya a, kote yon lame moun Filisti moute ganizon yo. Lè w’ap antre nan lavil la, w’a kontre ak yon gwoup pwofèt k’ap desann soti bò lotèl ki sou ti mòn lan. Y’ap jwe gita, y’ap bat tanbou, y’ap jwe fif ak bandjo, y’ap danse, y’ap bay mesaj ki sot nan Bondye.
6 Lespri Bondye a va desann sou ou, w’a pran danse, w’ap bay mesaj ki soti nan Bondye tankou yo. Ou p’ap menm moun lan ankò.
7 Lè bagay sa yo va rive, w’a fè tou sa ki vin pou fèt paske se Bondye k’ap avè ou.
8 Apre sa, w’a pran devan m’, w’a desann lavil Gilgal kote m’a vin jwenn ou pita pou m’ ofri bèt pou boule nèt pou Seyè a ansanm ak ofrann pou di Bondye mèsi. Lèfini, w’a tann sèt jou anvan m’a vin jwenn ou ankò pou m’ di ou sa pou ou fè.
9 Vire Sayil vire pou l’ kite Samyèl, Bondye fè Sayil tounen yon lòt moun nèt. Jou sa a tout pawòl Samyèl te di l’ yo rive vre.
10 Lè Sayil rive lavil Gibeya ak domestik li a, yon bann pwofèt vin kontre avè l’. Lespri Bondye a desann sou li epi li pran danse, li pran bay mesaj tankou yo.
11 Tout moun ki te konnen l’ anvan sa wè li t’ap danse, li t’ap bay mesaj ansanm ak pwofèt yo. Yonn t’ap di lòt: -Sa ki rive pitit gason Kich la? Sayil gen lè pwofèt tou?
12 Yon moun lavil Gibeya ki te la mande: -Lòt mesye pwofèt yo, ki moun ki papa yo? Se konsa moun te konmanse ap di: Gen lè menm Sayil pwofèt tou?
13 Lè Sayil fin danse, lè li te fin bay mesaj, li moute sou ti mòn lan bò lotèl la.
14 Tonton Sayil la mande l’ ansanm ak domestik li a: -Kote nou te ye konsa? Sayil reponn tonton l’ lan: -Mwen t’ al chache bourik yo. Lè nou pa jwenn yo, n’ al kote Samyèl.
15 Tonton Sayil la mande l’: -Rakonte m’ sa li di ou.
16 Sayil reponn li: -Li di m’ yo jwenn bourik yo deja. Men, li pa di tonton l’ sa Samyèl te di l’ sou koze wa a.
17 Samyèl reyini pèp Izrayèl la pou fè yon gwo sèvis pou Bondye lavil Mispa.
18 Li di yo: -Men sa Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la di: Se mwen menm ki te fè nou soti kite peyi Lejip la. Se mwen menm ki te delivre nou anba men moun Lejip yo, anba men moun lòt nasyon ki t’ap peze nou yo.
19 Se mwen menm Bondye nou an ki te pwoteje nou nan tout move pa, nan tout kè sere, epi koulye a n’ap voye m’ jete, n’ap di m’ se yon wa pou m’ mete gouvènen nou! Enben, nou tout, vini non devan Seyè a. Sanble tout moun, branch fanmi pa branch fanmi, fanmi pa fanmi. Fè yo parèt devan li.
20 Lè sa a, Samyèl fè tout pèp Izrayèl la pwoche branch fanmi pa branch fanmi. Seyè a chwazi branch fanmi Benjamen an.
21 Apre sa, Samyèl fè tout fanmi branch Benjamen yo pwoche yonn apre lòt. Seyè a chwazi fanmi Matri a. Lè sa a, li fè tout gason nan fanmi Matri a parèt devan Seyè a, Bondye chwazi Sayil, pitit gason Kich la. Yo chache l’, men yo pa t’ ka jwenn li.
22 Y’ al mande Seyè a si pa gen lòt moun ankò. Seyè a reponn: -Men Sayil kache dèyè pwovizyon yo!
23 Se konsa yo kouri al wete l’ la, yo mennen l’, yo fè l’ kanpe nan mitan pèp la. Li te pi wo pase yo tout.
24 Samyèl di pèp la: -Men moun Seyè a chwazi a. Pa gen tankou l’ nan mitan pèp la. Tout pèp la pran rele: -Viv wa Sayil!
25 Apre sa, Samyèl esplike pèp la ki jan pou wa a boule ak yo. Lèfini, li ekri tou sa li te di yo nan yon liv li mete devan lotèl Seyè a. Apre sa, Samyèl voye tout moun lakay yo.
26 Sayil tou al lakay li lavil Gibeya. Bondye te pale nan kè kèk vanyan gason. Yo menm tou, y’ ale ansanm ak Sayil.
27 Men te gen kèk vòryen ki t’ap di: -Ki jan jenn gason sa a ka rive delivre nou? Yo pa okipe Sayil menm, yo pa fè l’ kado anyen. Sayil menm fè tankou li pa konprann.

1 Samuel prit une fiole d’huile, qu’il répandit sur la tête de Saül. Il le baisa, et dit: L’Éternel ne t’a-t-il pas oint pour que tu sois le chef de son héritage?
2 Aujourd’hui, après m’avoir quitté, tu trouveras deux hommes près du sépulcre de Rachel, sur la frontière de Benjamin, à Tseltsach. Ils te diront: Les ânesses que tu es allé chercher sont retrouvées; et voici, ton père ne pense plus aux ânesses, mais il est en peine de vous, et dit: Que dois-je faire au sujet de mon fils?
3 De là tu iras plus loin, et tu arriveras au chêne de Thabor, où tu seras rencontré par trois hommes montant vers Dieu à Béthel, et portant l’un trois chevreaux, l’autre trois gâteaux de pain, et l’autre une outre de vin.
4 Ils te demanderont comment tu te portes, et ils te donneront deux pains, que tu recevras de leur main.
5 Après cela, tu arriveras à Guibea Élohim, où se trouve une garnison de Philistins. En entrant dans la ville, tu rencontreras une troupe de prophètes descendant du haut lieu, précédés du luth, du tambourin, de la flûte et de la harpe, et prophétisant eux-mêmes.
6 L’esprit de l’Éternel te saisira, tu prophétiseras avec eux, et tu seras changé en un autre homme.
7 Lorsque ces signes auront eu pour toi leur accomplissement, fais ce que tu trouveras à faire, car Dieu est avec toi.
8 Puis tu descendras avant moi à Guilgal; et voici, je descendrai vers toi, pour offrir des holocaustes et des sacrifices d’actions de grâces. Tu attendras sept jours, jusqu’à ce que j’arrive auprès de toi et que je te dise ce que tu dois faire.
9 Dès que Saül eut tourné le dos pour se séparer de Samuel, Dieu lui donna un autre coeur, et tous ces signes s’accomplirent le même jour.
10 Lorsqu’ils arrivèrent à Guibea, voici, une troupe de prophètes vint à sa rencontre. L’esprit de Dieu le saisit, et il prophétisa au milieu d’eux.
11 Tous ceux qui l’avaient connu auparavant virent qu’il prophétisait avec les prophètes, et l’on se disait l’un à l’autre dans le peuple: Qu’est-il arrivé au fils de Kis? Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes?
12 Quelqu’un de Guibea répondit: Et qui est leur père? -De là le proverbe: Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes?
13 Lorsqu’il eut fini de prophétiser, il se rendit au haut lieu.
14 L’oncle de Saül dit à Saül et à son serviteur: Où êtes-vous allés? Saül répondit: Chercher les ânesses; mais nous ne les avons pas aperçues, et nous sommes allés vers Samuel.
15 L’oncle de Saül reprit: Raconte-moi donc ce que vous a dit Samuel.
16 Et Saül répondit à son oncle: Il nous a assuré que les ânesses étaient retrouvées. Et il ne lui dit rien de la royauté dont avait parlé Samuel.
17 Samuel convoqua le peuple devant l’Éternel à Mitspa,
18 et il dit aux enfants d’Israël: Ainsi parle l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël: J’ai fait monter d’Égypte Israël, et je vous ai délivrés de la main des Égyptiens et de la main de tous les royaumes qui vous opprimaient.
19 Et aujourd’hui, vous rejetez votre Dieu, qui vous a délivrés de tous vos maux et de toutes vos souffrances, et vous lui dites: Établis un roi sur nous! Présentez-vous maintenant devant l’Éternel, selon vos tribus et selon vos milliers.
20 Samuel fit approcher toutes les tribus d’Israël, et la tribu de Benjamin fut désignée.
21 Il fit approcher la tribu de Benjamin par familles, et la famille de Matri fut désignée. Puis Saül, fils de Kis, fut désigné. On le chercha, mais on ne le trouva point.
22 On consulta de nouveau l’Éternel: Y a-t-il encore un homme qui soit venu ici? Et l’Éternel dit: Voici, il est caché vers les bagages.
23 On courut le tirer de là, et il se présenta au milieu du peuple. Il les dépassait tous de la tête.
24 Samuel dit à tout le peuple: Voyez-vous celui que l’Éternel a choisi? Il n’y a personne dans tout le peuple qui soit semblable à lui. Et tout le peuple poussa les cris de: Vive le roi!
25 Samuel fit alors connaître au peuple le droit de la royauté, et il l’écrivit dans un livre, qu’il déposa devant l’Éternel. Puis il renvoya tout le peuple, chacun chez soi.
26 Saül aussi s’en alla dans sa maison à Guibea. Il fut accompagné par les honnêtes gens, dont Dieu avait touché le coeur.
27 Il y eut toutefois des hommes pervers, qui disaient: Quoi! c’est celui-ci qui nous sauvera! Et ils le méprisèrent, et ne lui apportèrent aucun présent. Mais Saül n’y prit point garde.

1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?
2 When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
3 Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:
4 And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands.
5 After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
6 And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
7 And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.
8 And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and shew thee what thou shalt do.
9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?
12 And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?
13 And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.
14 And Saul’s uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses: and when we saw that they were no where, we came to Samuel.
15 And Saul’s uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.
16 And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not.
17 And Samuel called the people together unto the Lord to Mizpeh;
18 And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:
19 And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes, and by your thousands.
20 And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
21 When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.
22 Therefore they enquired of the Lord further, if the man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Behold he hath hid himself among the stuff.
23 And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.
24 And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the Lord hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.
25 Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the Lord. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
26 And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.
27 But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought no presents. But he held his peace.
