1 Dezan te fin pase. Farawon an fè yon rèv. Li wè li te kanpe bò larivyè Nil la.
2 Li wè sèt bèl vach byen gra moute soti nan larivyè a, yo t’ap manje zèb bò dlo a.
3 Apre sa, sèt lòt vach tout lèd, tout mèg, moute soti nan dlo a tou. Yo vin kanpe toupre lòt vach yo, bò dlo a.
4 Sèt vye vach mèg yo manje sèt bèl vach gra yo. Epi je farawon an vin klè.
5 Dòmi pran l’ ankò, li fè yon lòt rèv. Li wè sèt gwo grap ble ki t’ap pouse sou yon sèl pye ble. Yo te plen grenn, yo te mi.
6 Apre sa, sèt lòt grap vin parèt sou menm pye ble a. Yo te chèch, van nòde te fin boule yo.
7 Sèt grap chèch yo souse sèt bèl grap yo. Epi je farawon an vin klè ankò. Se rèv sa yo li te fè.
8 Nan maten, li te boulvèse anpil, li voye chache dènye divinò ak nèg save ki nan peyi Lejip la. Li rakonte yo rèv la, men yo yonn pa t’ kapab esplike rèv la ba li.
9  Se lè sa a, chèf kanbiz la di farawon an: -Koulye a mwen chonje mwen te fè yon fòt.
10 Yon jou, monwa, ou te ankòlè sou sèvitè ou yo. Ou te fè mete yo nan prizon lakay kòmandan gad palè ou la. Se te mwen menm, chèf kanbiz ou a, ansanm ak chèf boulanje ou la.
11 Yon jou lannwit, nou tout de nou reve. Chak moun te fè yon rèv diferan. Chak rèv te gen sans pa l’.
12 Te gen yon jenn ebre avèk nou nan prizon an. Se te yon esklav kòmandan gad palè a. Nou rakonte l’ rèv nou yo. Epi li esplike yo ban nou, li bay chak moun sans rèv li te fè a.
13 tout bagay pase jan li te di a: Sou twa jou vre, farawon an te mete m’ nan plas mwen ankò. Pou chèf boulanje a menm, li te fè pann li.
14 Farawon an voye chache Jozèf. Yo fè l’ soti byen vit nan prizon an. Jozèf fè labab, li koupe cheve l’, li chanje rad, epi li parèt devan farawon an.
15 Farawon an di Jozèf konsa: -Mwen fè yon rèv, pesonn pa ka di m’ sa l’ vle di. Men yo di m’ depi yo rakonte ou yon rèv, ou ka esplike l’.
16 Jozèf reponn farawon an: -Se pa mwen menm non! Se Bondye ki pral bay farawon an esplikasyon rèv la.
17  Farawon an di: -Mwen reve mwen te kanpe bò larivyè Nil la.
18 Konsa, sèt bèl vach byen gra te moute soti nan larivyè a, yo t’ap manje zèb bò dlo a.
19 Apre sa, sèt lòt vach tout mèg, tout lèd, tout chèch te moute soti nan dlo a dèyè lòt yo. Mwen poko janm wè vye vach lèd konsa nan tout peyi Lejip la.
20 Vye vach mèg yo manje bèl vach gra yo.
21 Lè yo te fin vale yo, se tankou si yo pa t’ janm manje. Yo te rete menm jan yo te ye anvan an. Epi je m’ vin klè.
22 Apre sa, mwen fè yon lòt rèv. Mwen wè sèt grap ble byen plen, byen mi ki t’ap pouse ansanm sou yon sèl pye ble a.
23 Apre sa, sèt lòt grap parèt dèyè yo. Yo te chèch, van nòde te fin boule yo.
24 Grap mèg yo souse sèt bèl grap yo. Mwen rakonte rèv yo bay divinò yo, men yo yonn pa t’ kapab esplike yo ban mwen.
25 Jozèf di farawon an: -tout de rèv yo vle di menm bagay la: Bondye fè ou konnen sa li pral fè.
26 Sèt vach gra yo, se sèt lanne. Sèt bèl grap yo se sèt lanne tou. Yo vle di menm bagay.
27 Sèt vach tout mèg, tout lèd ki vin apre lòt yo, se sèt lanne. Sèt grap ble boule yo, se sèt lanne tou. Sa vle di pral gen sèt lanne grangou.
28 Se jan m’ sot di farawon an: Bondye vle fè ou konnen sa li pral fè.
29 Pandan sèt lanne pral gen bèl rekòt nan tout peyi Lejip la.
30 Apre sa, pral gen sèt lanne grangou. Lè sa a, moun pral bliye tout bèl rekòt yo te fè nan peyi a. Grangou pral fini nèt ak peyi a.
31 Grangou ki pral tonbe sou peyi a pral rèd anpil. Moun p’ap wè tras rekòt ki te fèt nan peyi a.
32 Si farawon an fè menm rèv la de fwa, sa vle di Bondye gen tan fin fè plan l’ nèt. Se yon bagay Bondye pral fè talè konsa.
33  Koulye a, se pou farawon an chwazi yon moun ki gen lespri ak bon konprann pou l’ mete l’ chèf sou tout peyi Lejip la.
34 Se pou ou mete chèf toupatou nan peyi Lejip la, pou yo ranmase yon senkyèm nan tout rekòt ki pral fèt pandan sèt bon lanne yo.
35 Se pou yo ranmase pwovizyon pandan tout lanne ki pral vini yo. Se pou farawon an ba yo otorite pou yo anpile pwovizyon yo nan depo nan chak vil, lèfini pou yo veye yo.
36 Konsa, pwovizyon sa yo va sèvi yon rezèv pou peyi a pandan sèt lanne grangou k’ap vin tonbe apre sa sou peyi Lejip, pou grangou pa fini ak peyi a.
37 Farawon an ak tout moun pa l’ yo te tonbe dakò ak sa Jozèf te di a.
38 Farawon an di moun pa l’ yo: -Ki bò nou ka jwenn yon moun ki gen lespri Bondye sou li tankou nonm sa a?
39 Farawon an di Jozèf: -Gade tout bagay Bondye fè ou konnen! Pa gen pesonn ki gen plis lespri, osinon plis bon konprann pase ou.
40 M’ap mete ou chèf sou tout peyi mwen an. Se pou tout moun nan peyi a obeyi ou. Se sèlman paske mwen wa kifè mwen menm m’a pi gwo chèf pase ou.
41 Apre sa, farawon an di Jozèf: -Gade, m’ap mete ou chèf pou gouvènen tout peyi Lejip la.
42 Li wete gwo bag ki te nan dwèt li a, li mete l’ nan dwèt Jozèf. Li abiye l’ ak yon rechanj fèt ak bèl twal fen. Li pase yon chenn an lò nan kou l’.
43 Li fè l’ moute sou yon cha. Se te pi bèl cha nan tout peyi a apre cha wa a. Li bay gad onè ki t’ap mache devan Jozèf yo lòd pou yo di byen fè: Abrèk. Se konsa farawon an te mete Jozèf chèf sou tout peyi Lejip la.
44 Farawon an di Jozèf: -Se mwen menm farawon an k’ap pale avèk ou. Pesonn pa gen dwa fè anyen ni al ankenn kote nan peyi Lejip san pèmisyon ou.
45 Farawon an rele Jozèf Safna-Paneak. Li pran Asnat, pitit fi Potifera, yon prèt lavil On, li bay Jozèf li pou madanm. Jozèf al vizite tout peyi Lejip la.
46  Jozèf te gen trantan lè li te konmanse sèvi farawon an, wa peyi Lejip la. Li pati, li vwayaje toupatou nan peyi Lejip la.
47 Pandan sèt bon lanne yo, tè a te bay anpil anpil rekòt.
48 Jozèf ranmase pwovizyon pandan sèt lanne bon rekòt yo nan tout peyi a, li mete yo nan depo nan lavil yo. Chak lavil te gen kont depo pou sere tout sa jaden alantou yo te bay.
49 Li ranmase ble, li ranmase ble tankou ou ta di sab bò lanmè. Sitèlman te gen anpil ble, yo pa t’ ka konnen kantite ki te genyen.
50 Anvan lanne grangou yo mete pye, Jozèf te gen tan gen de pitit ak Asnat, pitit fi Potifera, prèt lavil On an.
51 Jozèf rele premye a Manase paske li t’ap di nan kè l’: Bondye fè m’ bliye tout soufrans mwen ansanm ak moun lakay papa m’ yo.
52 Li rele dezyèm lan Efrayim paske li t’ap di nan kè l’: Bondye fè m’ fè pitit nan peyi kote m’ap soufri a.
53 Sèt bon lanne rekòt yo te fin pase nan peyi Lejip la.
54 Sèt lanne grangou yo te konmanse jan Jozèf te di a. Grangou t’ap bat nan tout lòt peyi yo tou, men te gen manje toujou nan tout peyi Lejip la.
55 Men, yon lè grangou konmanse mete pye nan peyi Lejip la tou. Pèp la menm pran rele nan zòrèy farawon an, y’ap mande manje. Farawon an di moun peyi Lejip yo: -Al jwenn Jozèf. Se li menm ki va di nou sa pou nou fè.
56 Lè grangou a te toupatou nan peyi Lejip la, Jozèf louvri tout depo yo. Li vann moun peyi Lejip yo ble, paske grangou a te rèd anpil nan peyi Lejip la.
57 Moun soti toupatou nan tout lòt peyi yo vin achte ble nan men Jozèf nan peyi Lejip, paske grangou a te rèd anpil toupatou sou latè.
 

Genèse 41

1 Au bout de deux ans, Pharaon eut un songe. Voici, il se tenait près du fleuve.
2 Et voici, sept vaches belles à voir et grasses de chair montèrent hors du fleuve, et se mirent à paître dans la prairie.
3 Sept autres vaches laides à voir et maigres de chair montèrent derrière elles hors du fleuve, et se tinrent à leurs côtés sur le bord du fleuve.
4 Les vaches laides à voir et maigres de chair mangèrent les sept vaches belles à voir et grasses de chair. Et Pharaon s’éveilla.
5 Il se rendormit, et il eut un second songe. Voici, sept épis gras et beaux montèrent sur une même tige.
6 Et sept épis maigres et brûlés par le vent d’orient poussèrent après eux.
7 Les épis maigres engloutirent les sept épis gras et pleins. Et Pharaon s’éveilla. Voilà le songe.
8 Le matin, Pharaon eut l’esprit agité, et il fit appeler tous les magiciens et tous les sages de l’Égypte. Il leur raconta ses songes. Mais personne ne put les expliquer à Pharaon.
9 Alors le chef des échansons prit la parole, et dit à Pharaon: Je vais rappeler aujourd’hui le souvenir de ma faute.
10 Pharaon s’était irrité contre ses serviteurs; et il m’avait fait mettre en prison dans la maison du chef des gardes, moi et le chef des panetiers.
11 Nous eûmes l’un et l’autre un songe dans une même nuit; et chacun de nous reçut une explication en rapport avec le songe qu’il avait eu.
12 Il y avait là avec nous un jeune Hébreu, esclave du chef des gardes. Nous lui racontâmes nos songes, et il nous les expliqua.
13 Les choses sont arrivées selon l’explication qu’il nous avait donnée. Pharaon me rétablit dans ma charge, et il fit pendre le chef des panetiers.
14 Pharaon fit appeler Joseph. On le fit sortir en hâte de prison. Il se rasa, changea de vêtements, et se rendit vers Pharaon.
15 Pharaon dit à Joseph: J’ai eu un songe. Personne ne peut l’expliquer; et j’ai appris que tu expliques un songe, après l’avoir entendu.
16 Joseph répondit à Pharaon, en disant: Ce n’est pas moi! c’est Dieu qui donnera une réponse favorable à Pharaon.
17 Pharaon dit alors à Joseph: Dans mon songe, voici, je me tenais sur le bord du fleuve.
18 Et voici, sept vaches grasses de chair et belles d’apparence montèrent hors du fleuve, et se mirent à paître dans la prairie.
19 Sept autres vaches montèrent derrière elles, maigres, fort laides d’apparence, et décharnées: je n’en ai point vu d’aussi laides dans tout le pays d’Égypte.
20 Les vaches décharnées et laides mangèrent les sept premières vaches qui étaient grasses.
21 Elles les engloutirent dans leur ventre, sans qu’on s’aperçût qu’elles y fussent entrées; et leur apparence était laide comme auparavant. Et je m’éveillai.
22 Je vis encore en songe sept épis pleins et beaux, qui montèrent sur une même tige.
23 Et sept épis vides, maigres, brûlés par le vent d’orient, poussèrent après eux.
24 Les épis maigres engloutirent les sept beaux épis. Je l’ai dit aux magiciens, mais personne ne m’a donné l’explication.
25 Joseph dit à Pharaon: Ce qu’a songé Pharaon est une seule chose; Dieu a fait connaître à Pharaon ce qu’il va faire.
26 Les sept vaches belles sont sept années: et les sept épis beaux sont sept années: c’est un seul songe.
27 Les sept vaches décharnées et laides, qui montaient derrière les premières, sont sept années; et les sept épis vides, brûlés par le vent d’orient, seront sept années de famine.
28 Ainsi, comme je viens de le dire à Pharaon, Dieu a fait connaître à Pharaon ce qu’il va faire.
29 Voici, il y aura sept années de grande abondance dans tout le pays d’Égypte.
30 Sept années de famine viendront après elles; et l’on oubliera toute cette abondance au pays d’Égypte, et la famine consumera le pays.
31 Cette famine qui suivra sera si forte qu’on ne s’apercevra plus de l’abondance dans le pays.
32 Si Pharaon a vu le songe se répéter une seconde fois, c’est que la chose est arrêtée de la part de Dieu, et que Dieu se hâtera de l’exécuter.
33 Maintenant, que Pharaon choisisse un homme intelligent et sage, et qu’il le mette à la tête du pays d’Égypte.
34 Que Pharaon établisse des commissaires sur le pays, pour lever un cinquième des récoltes de l’Égypte pendant les sept années d’abondance.
35 Qu’ils rassemblent tous les produits de ces bonnes années qui vont venir; qu’ils fassent, sous l’autorité de Pharaon, des amas de blé, des approvisionnements dans les villes, et qu’ils en aient la garde.
36 Ces provisions seront en réserve pour le pays, pour les sept années de famine qui arriveront dans le pays d’Égypte, afin que le pays ne soit pas consumé par la famine.
37 Ces paroles plurent à Pharaon et à tous ses serviteurs.
38 Et Pharaon dit à ses serviteurs: Trouverions-nous un homme comme celui-ci, ayant en lui l’esprit de Dieu?
39 Et Pharaon dit à Joseph: Puisque Dieu t’a fait connaître toutes ces choses, il n’y a personne qui soit aussi intelligent et aussi sage que toi.
40 Je t’établis sur ma maison, et tout mon peuple obéira à tes ordres. Le trône seul m’élèvera au-dessus de toi.
41 Pharaon dit à Joseph: Vois, je te donne le commandement de tout le pays d’Égypte.
42 Pharaon ôta son anneau de la main, et le mit à la main de Joseph; il le revêtit d’habits de fin lin, et lui mit un collier d’or au cou.
43 Il le fit monter sur le char qui suivait le sien; et l’on criait devant lui: A genoux! C’est ainsi que Pharaon lui donna le commandement de tout le pays d’Égypte.
44 Il dit encore à Joseph: Je suis Pharaon! Et sans toi personne ne lèvera la main ni le pied dans tout le pays d’Égypte.
45 Pharaon appela Joseph du nom de Tsaphnath Paenéach; et il lui donna pour femme Asnath, fille de Poti Phéra, prêtre d’On. Et Joseph partit pour visiter le pays d’Égypte.
46 Joseph était âgé de trente ans lorsqu’il se présenta devant Pharaon, roi d’Égypte; et il quitta Pharaon, et parcourut tout le pays d’Égypte.
47 Pendant les sept années de fertilité, la terre rapporta abondamment.
48 Joseph rassembla tous les produits de ces sept années dans le pays d’Égypte; il fit des approvisionnements dans les villes, mettant dans l’intérieur de chaque ville les productions des champs d’alentour.
49 Joseph amassa du blé, comme le sable de la mer, en quantité si considérable que l’on cessa de compter, parce qu’il n’y avait plus de nombre.
50 Avant les années de famine, il naquit à Joseph deux fils, que lui enfanta Asnath, fille de Poti Phéra, prêtre d’On.
51 Joseph donna au premier-né le nom de Manassé, car, dit-il, Dieu m’a fait oublier toutes mes peines et toute la maison de mon père.
52 Et il donna au second le nom d’Éphraïm, car, dit-il, Dieu m’a rendu fécond dans le pays de mon affliction.
53 Les sept années d’abondance qu’il y eut au pays d’Égypte s’écoulèrent.
54 Et les sept années de famine commencèrent à venir, ainsi que Joseph l’avait annoncé. Il y eut famine dans tous les pays; mais dans tout le pays d’Égypte il y avait du pain.
55 Quand tout le pays d’Égypte fut aussi affamé, le peuple cria à Pharaon pour avoir du pain. Pharaon dit à tous les Égyptiens: Allez vers Joseph, et faites ce qu’il vous dira.
56 La famine régnait dans tout le pays. Joseph ouvrit tous les lieux d’approvisionnement, et vendit du blé aux Égyptiens. La famine augmentait dans le pays d’Égypte.
57 Et de tous les pays on arrivait en Égypte, pour acheter du blé auprès de Joseph; car la famine était forte dans tous les pays.

Genesis 41

1 And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
2 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.
3 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.
4 And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.
5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.
6 And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.
7 And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.
8 And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.
9 Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:
10 Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker:
11 And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.
12 And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.
13 And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.
14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.
15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:
18 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
19 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:
20 And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:
21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.
22 And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:
23 And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
24 And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.
25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
26 The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.
27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.
28 This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.
29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.
35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.
37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.
45 And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.
46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
47 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.
48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
49 And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.
50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.
52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
54 And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
55 And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.
57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
