Matye 11
1 Lè Jezi fin bay douz disip li yo tout lòd sa yo, li kite kote li te ye a, li pati, li ale nan lòt lavil peyi a. Li t’ap mache bay mesaj la, li t’ap moutre moun yo anpil bagay.
2 Antan Jan Batis te nan prizon, li tande pale travay Kris la t’ap fè. Li voye kèk patizan pa l’ ale mande Jezi:
3 Eske se ou ki moun nou konnen ki gen pou vini an, osinon èske nou dwe tann yon lòt?
4 Jezi reponn yo: Ale rakonte bay Jan sa nou tande ak sa nou wè:
5 Je avèg yo louvri, moun ki t’ap bwete yo mache byen, moun ki te gen maladi lalèp yo geri, moun ki te soudè yo tande, moun ki te mouri yo leve. Pòv yo tande Bon Nouvèl la.
6 Benediksyon pou moun ki pa jwenn nan mwen okazyon pou tonbe nan peche.
7 Lè patizan Jan yo al fè wout yo, Jezi pran pale ak foul la sou Jan. Li di yo konsa: Sa nou te al wè nan dezè a? Yon pye wozo van t’ap souke? Non.
8 Men, kisa nou te al wè menm? Yon nonm abiye ak bèl rad? Ala, moun ki mete bèl rad, se kay wa a yo jwenn yo.
9 Manyè di m’ kisa nou te al wè menm? Yon pwofèt? Wi, mwen menm mwen di nou: li pi plis pase yon pwofèt.
10 Men sa ki te ekri sou Jan: Men m’ap voye mesaje m’ lan devan ou. Li va louvri chemen an devan pou ou.
11 Sa m’ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Nan tout moun ki fèt sou latè pa gen yonn ki pi konsekan pase Jan Batis. Malgre sa, moun ki pi piti nan Peyi Wa ki nan syèl la, pi konsekan pase l’.
12 Depi sou tan Jan Batis jouk jòdi a, Peyi Wa ki nan syèl la anba gwo goumen. Se moun ki konn goumen k’ap antre ladan l’.

15 Si nou gen zòrèy pou n’ tande, tande.
16 Ak ki moun mwen ta konpare moun k’ap viv nan tan alèkile yo? Yo sanble timoun ki chita sou plas piblik, yonn ap rele lòt pou di l’ konsa:
17 Nou jwe mizik cho pou nou ak fif nou, nou pa danse. Nou chante chante ki tris pou nou, nou pa kriye.
18 Jan Batis vini, li pa manje, li pa bwè, yo di li gen yon move lespri sou li.
19 Mwen menm, Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a, mwen vini, mwen manje, mwen bwè, yo di: Gade yon nonm! Se manje ak bwè ase li konnen! Se zanmi pèseptè kontribisyon ak moun k’ap fè sa ki mal li ye! Men tou, lè nou wè rezilta sa Bondye fè, nou rekonèt se li menm nan bon konprann li ki gen rezon.
20 Lè sa a, Jezi pran fè moun lavil kote l’ te fè pifò mirak li yo repwòch, paske yo pa t’ tounen vin jwenn Bondye.
21 Li di yo: Malè pou nou, moun lavil Korazen! Malè pou nou moun lavil Betsayda! Paske, si mirak ki fèt nan mitan nou yo, se nan mitan lavil Tir ak lavil Sidon yo te fèt, gen lontan moun sa yo ta mete rad sak sou yo. Yo ta kouvri kò yo ak sann dife pou fè wè yo vle tounen vin jwenn Bondye.
22 Se poutèt sa m’ap di nou: Jou jijman an, y’a peni nou pi rèd pase moun lavil Tir ak moun lavil Sidon yo.
23 Nou menm tou, moun lavil Kapènawòm: nou ta vle yo leve nou jouk nan syèl la? Enben, y’a desann nou jouk anba kote mò yo ye a. Paske, si mirak ki fèt nan mitan nou yo, se nan mitan lavil Sodòm yo te fèt, li ta la jouk jòdi a.
24 Se poutèt sa m’ap di nou: Jou jijman an, y’a peni nou pi rèd pase moun lavil Sodòm yo.
25 Lè sa a, Jezi di: O Papa, ou menm ki mèt syèl la ak tè a, mwen di ou mèsi anpil dapre bagay ou te kache nan je gwo save ak moun lespri yo ou devwale yo bay ti piti yo.
26 Wi, Papa mwen, sa pase konsa paske se konsa ou te vle li.
27 Papa m’ renmèt mwen tout bagay. Pesonn pa konn kilès moun Pitit la ye, esepte Papa a. Konsa tou, pesonn pa konn kilès moun Papa a ye, esepte Pitit la, ak moun Pitit la vle fè konnen li.
28 Vini jwenn mwen, nou tout ki bouke, nou tout ki anba chay, m’a soulaje nou.
29 Pran jouk mwen, mete l’ sou zepòl nou. Pran leson nan men mwen. Paske mwen dou, mwen toujou soumèt mwen tout bon devan Bondye. Konsa, n’a viv ak kè poze.
30 Paske, jouk m’ap ban nou an fasil pou pote, chay m’ap ban nou an pa lou.

1 Lorsque Jésus eut achevé de donner ses instructions à ses douze disciples, il partit de là, pour enseigner et prêcher dans les villes du pays.
2 Jean, ayant entendu parler dans sa prison des oeuvres du Christ, lui fit dire par ses disciples:
3 Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre?
4 Jésus leur répondit: Allez rapporter à Jean ce que vous entendez et ce que vous voyez:
5 les aveugles voient, les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont purifiés, les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent, et la bonne nouvelle est annoncée aux pauvres.
6 Heureux celui pour qui je ne serai pas une occasion de chute!
7 Comme ils s’en allaient, Jésus se mit à dire à la foule, au sujet de Jean: Qu’êtes-vous allés voir au désert? un roseau agité par le vent?
8 Mais, qu’êtes-vous allés voir? un homme vêtu d’habits précieux? Voici, ceux qui portent des habits précieux sont dans les maisons des rois.
9 Qu’êtes-vous donc allés voir? un prophète? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu’un prophète.
10 Car c’est celui dont il est écrit: Voici, j’envoie mon messager devant ta face, Pour préparer ton chemin devant toi.
11 Je vous le dis en vérité, parmi ceux qui sont nés de femmes, il n’en a point paru de plus grand que Jean Baptiste. Cependant, le plus petit dans le royaume des cieux est plus grand que lui.
12 Depuis le temps de Jean Baptiste jusqu’à présent, le royaume des cieux est forcé, et ce sont les violents qui s’en s’emparent.
13 Car tous les prophètes et la loi ont prophétisé jusqu’à Jean;
14 et, si vous voulez le comprendre, c’est lui qui est l’Élie qui devait venir.
15 Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre entende.
16 A qui comparerai-je cette génération? Elle ressemble à des enfants assis dans des places publiques, et qui, s’adressant à d’autres enfants,
17 disent: Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n’avez pas dansé; nous avons chanté des complaintes, et vous ne vous êtes pas lamentés.
18 Car Jean est venu, ne mangeant ni ne buvant, et ils disent: Il a un démon.
19 Le Fils de l’homme est venu, mangeant et buvant, et ils disent: C’est un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des publicains et des gens de mauvaise vie. Mais la sagesse a été justifiée par ses oeuvres.
20 Alors il se mit à faire des reproches aux villes dans lesquelles avaient eu lieu la plupart de ses miracles, parce qu’elles ne s’étaient pas repenties.
21 Malheur à toi, Chorazin! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda! car, si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous avaient été faits dans Tyr et dans Sidon, il y a longtemps qu’elles se seraient repenties, en prenant le sac et la cendre.
22 C’est pourquoi je vous le dis: au jour du jugement, Tyr et Sidon seront traitées moins rigoureusement que vous.
23 Et toi, Capernaüm, seras-tu élevée jusqu’au ciel? Non. Tu seras abaissée jusqu’au séjour des morts; car, si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de toi avaient été faits dans Sodome, elle subsisterait encore aujourd’hui.
24 C’est pourquoi je vous le dis: au jour du jugement, le pays de Sodome sera traité moins rigoureusement que toi.
25 En ce temps-là, Jésus prit la parole, et dit: Je te loue, Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et de ce que tu les as révélées aux enfants.
26 Oui, Père, je te loue de ce que tu l’as voulu ainsi.
27 Toutes choses m’ont été données par mon Père, et personne ne connaît le Fils, si ce n’est le Père; personne non plus ne connaît le Père, si ce n’est le Fils et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler.
28 Venez à moi, vous tous qui êtes fatigués et chargés, et je vous donnerai du repos.
29 Prenez mon joug sur vous et recevez mes instructions, car je suis doux et humble de coeur; et vous trouverez du repos pour vos âmes.
30 Car mon joug est doux, et mon fardeau léger.

Matthew 11
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
8 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.
9 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
