3 W’a pran dis pen, kèk gato ak yon bokal siwo myèl pou fè l’ kado, ou v al lakay li. Sèten, l’a fè ou konnen sa ki pou rive pitit gason nou an.
4 Se konsa madan Jewoboram ale lakay Akija lavil Silo. Akija te granmoun anpil, li pa t’ wè nan je l’ ankò.
5 Seyè a te fè Akija konnen madan Jewoboram ap vin wè li pou pitit gason l’ lan ki malad. Li te di l’: -Lè madan Jewoboram vini, l’ap fè tèt li pase pou yon lòt moun. Ou menm, w’a di l’ sa m’a mete nan bouch ou pou di l’. Lè madan Jewoboram rive, li fè tèt li pase pou yon lòt moun vre.
6 Men, lè Akija tande l’ bri pye l’ ap vini nan papòt la, li di l’: -Antre non, madan Jewoboram. Poukisa w’ap fè tèt ou pase pou lòt moun konsa? Tout jan, mwen gen move nouvèl pou ou.
7 Ale di Jewoboram men sa Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la voye di l’: Mwen te chwazi ou nan mitan pèp la, mwen mete ou chèf sou pèp mwen an, pèp Izrayèl la.
8 Mwen wete baton kòmandman nan men moun fanmi David yo, mwen ba ou li. Men, ou pa t’ tankou David. sèvitè m’ lan, ki te toujou koute lòd mwen te ba li, ki te mache ak kè kontan nan chemen mwen te ba li, ki te fè sa ki pou fè m’ plezi ase.
9 Ou fè pi mal pase sa ki te chèf anvan ou yo. Ou sèvi lòt bondye, ou fè estati an kwiv pou yo, ou voye m’ jete, ou fè m’ fache.

11 Chen pral manje kadav moun nan fanmi ou ki va mouri nan lavil. Malfini karanklou va manje kadav sa ki va mouri andeyò. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
12 Ou menm pou tèt pa ou, madan Jewoboram, leve non, tounen lakay ou. Rive w’a rive lavil la, pitit la ap mouri.
13 Tout moun peyi Izrayèl yo va pran lapenn pou li, y’a antere l’. Nan tout fanmi Jewoboram lan, se li menm ase y’ap antere paske, nan tout fanmi an, se li menm ase ki te yon ti jan bon nan je Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la.
14 Seyè a pral mete yon lòt wa pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la. Se li menm ki pral disparèt fanmi Jewoboram lan. Se pou jòdi a wi sa m’ap di la a. Se pou koulye a menm.
15 Seyè a pral pini pèp Izrayèl la. Yo pral tranble tankou pye wozo k’ap tranble bò kouran dlo. Li pral dechouke pèp Izrayèl la nan bon peyi li te bay zansèt yo a, li pral gaye yo lòt bò larivyè Lefrat, paske yo fè Seyè a fache lè yo fè estati pou zidòl Astate a.
16 Seyè a pral lage pèp Izrayèl la paske Jewoboram te fè anpil peche, lèfini li te pote pèp Izrayèl fè sa ki mal tou.

20 Jewoboram te wa pandan venndezan. Lè li mouri, yo antere l’. Se Nadab, pitit gason l’ lan, ki moute sou fotèy la nan plas li.

22 Moun peyi Jida yo fè sa ki mal nan je Seyè a. Yo fè pi mal pase zansèt yo. Se konsa yo te lakòz kolè Seyè a tonbe sou yo.
23 Yo menm tou, yo bati kay pou fè sèvis pou zidòl, yo fè gwo moniman wòch ak estati pou Astate sou tèt mòn anba gwo pyebwa.
24 Sa ki pi rèd toujou, te gen fanm ak gason nan tout kote sa yo ap fè jennès nan sèvis pou zidòl. Moun peyi Jida yo te lage kò yo nan fè tout vye malpwòpte pèp Seyè a te mete deyò nan peyi a pou fè plas pou pèp Izrayèl la.
25 Woboram te gen senkan depi li te wa lè Chichak, wa peyi Lejip la, atake lavil Jerizalèm.
26 Li pran tout trezò ki te nan tanp lan ak nan palè wa a, ata gwo plak pwotèj an lò Salomon te fè fè yo.
27 Wa Woboram fè fè gwo plak pwotèj an kwiv pou mete nan plas yo. Lèfini, li renmèt yo nan men chèf gad ki t’ap fè pòs nan pòtay kay wa a.
28 Chak fwa wa a t’ap antre nan Tanp lan, chèf gad yo pran gwo plak pwotèj yo pote yo vini. Lè l’ ale, yo pote yo tounen nan sal gad la.
29 Tout lòt bagay wa Woboram te fè yo, n’a jwenn yo ekri nan liv Istwa wa peyi Jida yo.
30 Pandan tout tan sa a se te yon lagè san rete ant Woboram ak Jewoboran.
31 Lè Woboram mouri, yo antere l’ nan tonm fanmi an nan lavil David la. Manman l’ te rele Nama, se te moun lavil Amon. Se Abijam, pitit gason Woboram lan, ki moute sou fotèy la nan plas papa l’.

1 Dans ce temps-là, Abija, fils de Jéroboam, devint malade.
2 Et Jéroboam dit à sa femme: Lève-toi, je te prie, et déguise-toi pour qu’on ne sache pas que tu es la femme de Jéroboam, et va à Silo. Voici, là est Achija, le prophète; c’est lui qui m’a dit que je serais roi de ce peuple.
3 Prends avec toi dix pains, des gâteaux et un vase de miel, et entre chez lui; il te dira ce qui arrivera à l’enfant.
4 La femme de Jéroboam fit ainsi; elle se leva, alla à Silo, et entra dans la maison d’Achija. Achija ne pouvait plus voir, car il avait les yeux fixes par suite de la vieillesse.
5 L’Éternel avait dit à Achija: La femme de Jéroboam va venir te consulter au sujet de son fils, parce qu’il est malade. Tu lui parleras de telle et de telle manière. Quand elle arrivera, elle se donnera pour une autre.
6 Lorsque Achija entendit le bruit de ses pas, au moment où elle franchissait la porte, il dit: Entre, femme de Jéroboam; pourquoi veux-tu te donner pour une autre? Je suis chargé de t’annoncer des choses dures.
7 Va, dis à Jéroboam: Ainsi parle l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël: Je t’ai élevé du milieu du peuple, je t’ai établi chef de mon peuple d’Israël,
8 j’ai arraché le royaume de la maison de David et je te l’ai donné. Et tu n’as pas été comme mon serviteur David, qui a observé mes commandements et qui a marché après moi de tout son coeur, ne faisant que ce qui est droit à mes yeux.
9 Tu as agi plus mal que tous ceux qui ont été avant toi, tu es allé te faire d’autres dieux, et des images de fonte pour m’irriter, et tu m’as rejeté derrière ton dos!
10 Voilà pourquoi je vais faire venir le malheur sur la maison de Jéroboam; j’exterminerai quiconque appartient à Jéroboam, celui qui est esclave et celui qui est libre en Israël, et je balaierai la maison de Jéroboam comme on balaie les ordures, jusqu’à ce qu’elle ait disparu.
11 Celui de la maison de Jéroboam qui mourra dans la ville sera mangé par les chiens, et celui qui mourra dans les champs sera mangé par les oiseaux du ciel. Car l’Éternel a parlé.
12 Et toi, lève-toi, va dans ta maison. Dès que tes pieds entreront dans la ville, l’enfant mourra.
13 Tout Israël le pleurera, et on l’enterrera; car il est le seul de la maison de Jéroboam qui sera mis dans un sépulcre, parce qu’il est le seul de la maison de Jéroboam en qui se soit trouvé quelque chose de bon devant l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.
14 L’Éternel établira sur Israël un roi qui exterminera la maison de Jéroboam ce jour-là. Et n’est-ce pas déjà ce qui arrive?
15 L’Éternel frappera Israël, et il en sera de lui comme du roseau qui est agité dans les eaux; il arrachera Israël de ce bon pays qu’il avait donné à leurs pères, et il les dispersera de l’autre côté du fleuve, parce qu’ils se sont fait des idoles, irritant l’Éternel.
16 Il livrera Israël à cause des péchés que Jéroboam a commis et qu’il a fait commettre à Israël.
17 La femme de Jéroboam se leva, et partit. Elle arriva à Thirtsa; et, comme elle atteignait le seuil de la maison, l’enfant mourut.
18 On l’enterra, et tout Israël le pleura, selon la parole que l’Éternel avait dite par son serviteur Achija, le prophète.
19 Le reste des actions de Jéroboam, comment il fit la guerre et comment il régna, cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.
20 Jéroboam régna vingt-deux ans, puis il se coucha avec ses pères. Et Nadab, son fils, régna à sa place.
21 Roboam, fils de Salomon, régna sur Juda. Il avait quarante et un ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna dix-sept ans à Jérusalem, la ville que l’Éternel avait choisie sur toutes les tribus d’Israël pour y mettre son nom. Sa mère s’appelait Naama, l’Ammonite.
22 Juda fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel; et, par les péchés qu’ils commirent, ils excitèrent sa jalousie plus que ne l’avaient jamais fait leurs pères.
23 Ils se bâtirent, eux aussi, des hauts lieux avec des statues et des idoles sur toute colline élevée et sous tout arbre vert.
24 Il y eut même des prostitués dans le pays. Ils imitèrent toutes les abominations des nations que l’Éternel avait chassées devant les enfants d’Israël.
25 La cinquième année du règne de Roboam, Schischak, roi d’Égypte, monta contre Jérusalem.
26 Il prit les trésors de la maison de l’Éternel et les trésors de la maison du roi, il prit tout. Il prit tous les boucliers d’or que Salomon avait faits.
27 Le roi Roboam fit à leur place des boucliers d’airain, et il les remit aux soins des chefs des coureurs, qui gardaient l’entrée de la maison du roi.
28 Toutes les fois que le roi allait à la maison de l’Éternel, les coureurs les portaient; puis ils les rapportaient dans la chambre des coureurs.
29 Le reste des actions de Roboam, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
30 Il y eut toujours guerre entre Roboam et Jéroboam.
31 Roboam se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David. Sa mère s’appelait Naama, l’Ammonite. Et Abijam, son fils, régna à sa place.

1 At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.
2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.
3 And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.
4 And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
5 And the Lord said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.
6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.
7 Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,
8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;
9 But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:
10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.
11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the Lord hath spoken it.
12 Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.
13 And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the Lord God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.
14 Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.
15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the Lord to anger.
16 And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.
17 And Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;
18 And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19 And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.
21 And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.
25 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:
26 And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
27 And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king’s house.
28 And it was so, when the king went into the house of the Lord, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.
29 Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.
31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.
